He said he could probably help us so I handed the phone over to my husband. They quickly worked out the details and agreed on a budget, at which point Ken abandoned his Sunday workout, got in the car and made it to Menlo Park in time to shoot the film that was needed. He also did some quick turnaround editing-as in overnight. While I didn't interact with him beyond the initial phone contact, my husband said that he was extremely professional and very good at what he does. I was tremendously impressed that not only did he answer his phone on a Sunday, he was willing to turn his day upside down to accommodate our request.

After I had put my deposit down, I found out that Sonny (the creative mind) had left leaving David in charge. Most videographers ask what you are looking for in your video, what moments you'd like them to capture, etc. When I inquired about that, David advised they do not have a questionnaire for us to fill out, but I could send it along. On the day of our wedding he arrived at our hotel with an additional shooter, which he did not mention prior. They completely lacked professionalism and it was as if they were three guys just goofing around. There was no vision, it was just them shooting random things that were happening. They brought a drone, and decided to test it out that day, so they also wasted time on that when they could have been capturing other moments. I decided not to get upset and let it ruin the most important day of my life, since I had yet to see the end result. Three months after our wedding, we received the initial video. I asked if certain edits could be made, and was told I'd see them in a week. A week went by and nothing. I sent him email after email and when there was a response it was always "you will receive it in a week". There was always an excuse, he used "my main editor had an emergency" a lot. Our contract stated that the final product would be delivered 6-8 months after the wedding date. My husband had to step in and eventually, after a year and 8 months we finally received our video. Mind you the video was mediocre in comparison to the work that was done when Sonny was there. It was such an important day, and we hired a videographer to capture specific moments that you can look back on. It was such a disappointing video and terrible experience. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

They were out of our price range but I begged my husband to go with them because I've watched all their videos and I loved every one of them. Plus, I've met Sonny through mutual friends and he seems like a pretty easy guy to work with. Our wedding was on 7/11/15 and we signed our contract on 3/25/2014. A couple of months before our wedding, we caught wind that Sonny left Lightbulb to start his own production. We were disappointed but hopeful that his previous partners would carry the torch and we'll still get an amazing video. The day of our wedding, Davian and a team member were punctual, friendly, and professional. They were great. The only problem was we didn't receive our wedding package until 6/24/2016. Yes, almost a whole year later! Throughout this time family and friends, constantly, asked us about our wedding video. We had several friends who got married in 2016 who got their wedding video before us. Honestly, it was embarrassing and frustrating. At first, we didn't bug them about our video. We knew these projects takes time and we didn't want to rush them and end up with a crappy video. The contract did say it may take up to 6-8 months to receive the final package. But after 6 months of not hearing anything from Lightbulb, I decided to reach out. In January 2016, I emailed Davian to ask about their progress. Two weeks later he sent me an email with an apology for the delay, a link to the featured film, and a promise that our project will be completed and shipped in 2 weeks. We wanted to share the long-anticipated video with our family and friends through social media but the link required a password. I asked him to remove the password so it could be viewed by everyone. Not only did I not get a response to my request, we did not get our package in two weeks. I emailed him once a month, thereafter. I didn't hear from him until June when he asked me to send him photos for the DVD cover. This was the last time I heard from him. He texted my husband to let him know that he shipped out our package. Their work was okay at best, neither of us were blown away. The quality of the video wasn't even in HD. We were expecting so much more, after waiting for almost a whole year. So, there it is. Poor communication, broken promises, angry parents and a mediocre wedding video is all we got from them. We know we're not their only project but a little communication and being forthright goes a long way.

After the first meeting, we were hooked! Kenny and Ammy were very willing to meet with us for as long and often as needed to make us feel comfortable with what we wanted and what we were getting. Before our each shoot, they were willing to take the time to make sure we would be as well prepared and well dressed as possible. They are also very enthusiastic about their work, and their cheerfulness is infectious. The staff at VID studio are all very professional. They have all different kinds of cameras, stands, and photo/video accessory for every kind of shot. A city-wide video shoot with them will make you feel like you're filming a professional commercial or movie. Kenny, Ammy, and the rest of the crew are all perfectionists. They will do everything in their power to make every picture and every scene perfect, whether it be taking extra shots just in case the next one comes out even better, working extremely long days, or even extra days to get everything right. My wife is incredibly picky about photos and video, and they almost always managed to please her. If she wasn't 100% satisfied, they would do whatever it took to get her there. Of course that means that we also spent a LOT of time in front of the camera, but it was well worth it. Ammy does a wonderful job with makeup and hair. My wife can be extremely picky about this, but she always comes back from the mirror glowing after being prepped by Ammy. Kenny is a wonderful photographer who cares less about poses and more about what his clients are doing, what's happening around them, and how they interact with their surroundings. He's really great at using the settings of his shots to their full potential. Like Kenny, video director Shun is very flexible. While they always come up with a general script for shots, he's always looking to see how he can use what he has to make it the best it can be. The same can be said for the rest of the crew as well. They both made time on short notice and really came through for us. Ammy is an awesome makeup artist. Since we were on a tight schedule and really were just passing through town, my wife didn't bring her makeup kit. But that was okay because Ammy just so happens to be a master beautician. Even with her busy schedule, she helped us out with flower arrangements (for the photo shoot) and even came early to do make up for my wife. Kenny is a uniquely amazing photographer, definitely different from other photographers I've seen. Most wedding photographers make you do poses or make you pretend like your doing something and take a quick snap. But Kenny does a different take (no pun intended) on capturing stills. He asked us to actually move around, from jumping to running to spinning to doing nothing but be ourselves (while pretending that he and Ammy weren't there) and he would just be snapping away the entire time. We had plenty of fun. It's like taking a video of the wedding rehearsal, the entire wedding ceremony, post-ceremony dinner and then going back through every single second of the video and picking out the most precious moments.
