I LOVE this place. I've only gotten brazilian waxes done here and have seen several different people and have had great experiences every time. I've seen Desiree several times and she was SO fast and it was as pain free as waxes can get. Yes, I do realize the contradiction with using "pain free" and "brazilian wax" in the same sentence..but you catch my drift. She was great about letting me try free samples of different products to see what worked best before purchasing. I would have to say the only thing I've found was that sometimes they were late for scheduled appointments but they did more than make up for it with service. read more

A BYOB wax place!!?? Sign me up! I called there last minute because of good reviews on Yelp. I was going on vacation and needed to get waxed that night (previous appointment at other location was canceled). The girl on the phone was very friendly and got us in no problem. The place is very clean with great ambiance. The girls are very nice. My wax wasn't as painful as it has been in the past (and it wasn't because of the BYOB, we didn't find that out until after we got there) and it lasted FOREVER! I don't know why it didn't grow back as fast as it usually does but I'm not complaining. The person I went with was equally as pleased. It never ceases to amaze me that these girls can be so casual and act like nothing is going on while they rip out your pubic hair. Not a occupation I'd want to do, but hey, more power to ya! It was my first time here I decided to come before a big vacation. I had Taylor give me the works. She did a leg, bikini, eyebrow and upper lip wax for me. She did an amazing job. Usually my skin is pretty sensitive after being waxed but it actually was smooth and the redness went away within the first 24 hours! She also recommended a few things for me to do to make sure I don't get in grown hair etc. I didn't have any problems finishing a parking spot, or getting an appointment. I traveled all the way from the north suburbs and it was well worth the travel. The whole process took a little over an hour. It's been over a week now and I am still smooth! So happy with the results of this place! I went in for an eyebrow and upper lip wax. My girl did a great job and I love how I didn't need to lay down for her to do the work! She used sugar wax on the tops of my eyebrows and used hard wax on the inner eye brow and upper lip. I usually break out from going to waxing salons, but this place is just great! i'll make this fast. friendly receptionist - check. fastest brazilian of my life - check. professional and friendly technician - check. but... the table was dirty. yes, there was a paper roll on top of the sheet but the sheet itself clearly hadn't been changed in a long time. there were wax stains all over it. it was visibly stained. also, i appreciate the technician trying to distract me by engaging in active conversation, but personally i'm one of those people who wants to be left alone. i can't produce meaningful sentences and deal with what's going on down there. so all in all, 4 stars. i don't think you'd be disappointed and if i had to be nit-picky then those are my MINOR grievances. happy waxing. read more

This was hands down the least painful wax I ever had. Beth gave me a regular bikini and she was not only really friendly and communicative--which made the whole process seem to go faster--but she kept making sure she was giving me just what I wanted. I've had one bad experience with soft wax before (bitch made me bleed!) but Beth was great and really fast and efficient. I went because of Yelp reviews and they were spot on. There were only two things that were less than perfect, but such is life. 1) When i sat down on the table, there seemed to be a remnant of previous wax. or maybe it was something else, but it was bluish green. in any case, it wasn't on the paper, just the sheet on the table, so i didn't have to come into contact with it. 2) she did a great job but when she finished and left the room for me to get dressed, i noticed i still felt a bit sticky under one side. maybe she forgot to remove a spot of wax? whatever, i rubbed it off with my fingers. one last thing: whoever the receptionist was, she was a doll. when i paid, she was really kind and not pushy when offering up after-care products. she gave me a genuine smile and was not brisk or bored or anything. overall, it was the best wax i've ever had. read more

Fantastic! I walked by Trim after a doctor's appt in the neighborhood, and made a note to look them up. I've been spa-hopping for wax services for quite some time, and really wanted to find a regular salon. Yesterday, I finally booked a regular bikini wax, eyebrow, and lip, and while we're at it, cleaned up the backs of my upper thighs. if you are a brazilian girl, marta @ trim is as good as it gets. while painless is not an option in bikini waxes, marta is a master distractor for those faint at heart. while the price point is a bit high, there will no hair unturned, so youll get your moneys worth. i give 4 stars because ive had other waxers who werent as "detail oriented" at trim resulting in me not being as pleased with the results. read more

wow! this place is awesome. warm greeting and helpful receptionist! cute place with old pinup girls on the walls (i enjoyed looking at the them during my waxing)... but SIMONA was my waxer, and she was amazing. very professional, and easy to talk with. i got a full leg & bikini wax. she was really fast, and not a hair was left on my body! extremely sanitary! never double dipped the stick (so important), and they use both soft & hard wax. the hard wax really helps when it comes to the painful & sensitive parts!!! read more

I had Danielle and she is AMAZING, I had the "date night" package: which includes a Brazilian bikini wax and an eyebrow wax. This review is for the Trim Lincoln Park location. (I recommend the Wicker Park location.) This was my first experience with Trim. I had seen it many times and was always interested in their mantra of 'custom tailored waxing.' I was sorely disappointed. I can say however they were the ONLY wax place I found open past 9PM and that was vital as I had a flight the next morning and put off my brazilian wax. The manner of the staff was friendly enough. I wish I remembered my waxers name so you all can steer clear! However I would just avoid this location entirely. I came in for a late appointment. I was clearly the last appointment of the night. During the wax she asked me if I wanted anything specific. I asked her what she could do. She said she can leave a strip or do a heart. I had done the 'playboy' strip so I figured a heart would be fun. She made the outline of the heart with a white liner pencil then began the wax. She waxed the region proficiently enough, however she went over areas multiple times which good waxers do not do. It leads to highly aggravated skin and I was irritated for days which made ensuing sexual activity unpleasant! She took 30-35 minutes which is not fast and not crazy slow, but definitely nothing to speak of. It just meant I had to sit through 35 minutes of her painful waxing procedures. Her bedside manner was OK. We talked and she seemed like a decent person, she just is not a superb waxer! (Sharren of Wicker Park got me in and out in 15 minutes without rewaxing any areas. She was QUICK, EFFICIENT and GREAT to talk to. NOW THAT IS A WAX!) At the end of my wax, let me tell you, my 'HEART' was NOT A HEART. It was a mangled tuft of hair on my monis pubis that looked as if the waxer forgot an area. It looked nothing like a heart. Not surprising considering the waxer did not even use scissors to shape the design and simply waxed around the drawn stencil. I tipped her well anyways because I am a good tipper and it was late and they saw me last minute. She looked at my tip as if the entire situation bored her and said a bare thanks as I walked out. The receptionist was much more friendly. POINT OF THE STORY. I wouldn't risk receiving this waxer again. I would simply go elsewhere. I complained to Trim about my mangled heart and irritated vagina and have yet to receive any response. read more

Great spot to get an eyebrow wax! I have been getting my eyebrows waxed for years and let me say that Adrianna is FABULOUS! She was quick, talkative, and knowledgeable! She drew lines and explained to me how the shape would look before waxing, which I appreciate because in the past I have had bad experiences with misshapen eyebrows. I have blonde hair and my eyebrows are blonde, so I have never waxed or tweezed them...and I am 25. It took a makeup artist telling me I was in need of a good tweeze for me to book my Trim appointment. I wish I could thank that makeup artist for the heads up because after my appointment with Erica at the Lincoln Park location, my eyebrows look amazing! I have to agree with Tricia F... I truly received the worst brazilian I have ever had at Trim. My friend recommended this place cuz she likes it, and maybe I went on a bad evening, but I'm paying for it. I'm completely bruised and sore for 2 days AND with strays!! I've gotten over 20 waxes and I have never ever felt like this afterward (even after my first time!). Usually I'm in and out (at other places) in 15 min... I had to endure a tortuous half hour at Trim. The girl was really nice, but probably inexperienced. The receptionist was also really nice - she gave me a good discount because there was a mix up with my scheduling and they couldn't use the hard wax like i had requested when I made the appointment. Sorry Trim, but niceness only goes so far. Never again. read more

The one star I gave was because Marisa is well-informed and competent, the staff making the appointments, however, are not. I called to make my appointment for Saturday, and was asked when I'd like to come in. I mentioned 1pm, and they said unfortunately, it was full, how about 2pm? So I said fine, I can just go for a yoga class and then come in. As the person I'm speaking to is hanging up, I hear her muttering, "1pm, Saturday." At this, I'm a little confused, because we just had a whole conversation about 2pm, so I'm convinced that I must be wrong. However, I figured that like all good spas, they will call and confirm your appointment the day before, and I could check then. They did not. So when Saturday rolled around, I left my yoga class and thought I'd give them a call to confirm that I was in fact at 2pm. I was then told that no, it was 1pm. Needless to say, I was very confused, and they told me that I could not change it to 2pm, because someone was already there. Because of Trim's mix up and their inability to actually schedule appointments, I had to jump onto a cab to make it. This means that I had to rush and pay more than I had been intending, because Trim couldn't even get their times right. When I arrived a few minutes late, the girl at the front desk was brusque and short with me. Marisa, however, was very sweet. I did the Jewel Box treatment (vagina facial), because I have many ingrown hairs (sorry, TMI). The treatment cost $75, which is pretty steep, but it was supposed to be 45 minutes. However, it was only 30 minutes, and I felt a little like I was getting ripped off. At the end of the treatment, I honestly saw no difference. Marisa said that I'd have to wait a few days to see the results, so I'm still giving it a chance to work. My overall evaluation is that the staff seems fairly incompetent if they can't even get the time you're supposed to come in correct, and the person at the front desk was pretty unfriendly. Marisa really was great, though I remain undecided on the treatment's efficacy and value (particularly because I only got 30 minutes when it's advertised as 45 minutes). read more
