Dog Injured At Pet Smart Boarding…read more We took our sweet puppies Princess and Sparkle to be boarded at Pet Smart over the weekend. At or about Sunday, October 17, 2021, Pet Smart began bombarding my wife with calls from morning to afternoon. We learned that something happened to Sparkle's leg, but mysteriously no one knew what happened. At first we were told that there was an injury to Princess, but we were then told that it was Sparkle. We were told that Sparkle would be taken to a Vet. When Princess and Sparkle were picked up this afternoon, she came home with a dog cone around her neck and a STAPLE in her CUT leg. I don't care if we were not charged for boarding and the Vet fee was free as a result, this is downright negligence. I would really like to know what the hell happened to my dog's CUT leg, because I have a hard time believing that no one knows. The question becomes, what would the very likely trail of blood tell you on the floor near wherever the mysterious injury occurred. There had to be blood near where the injury occurred. My issue is, just be honest and tell the truth. Don't make stuff up, especially when my dog comes home with a STAPLE in her CUT leg. It's dishonest and I will not be taking my dogs back here again. I recommend that no one brings their dogs to board here. I would give this place 0 starts for the experience if I could. My dog is traumatized!

They called to let me know when everything would be delivered so that was great as well. I was met with the least helpful employee and nasty attitude. It was quite expensive--almost $300, including the tip--whereas I'm usually accustomed to paying around $180, which was a huge adjustment for me. I guess in California everyone grooms so the demand is great and supply is plentiful making for low competitive pricing. Here in Tennessee, Memphis specifically, mobile groomers seemed hard to come by. Additionally, I didn't realize that the hair between their toes was missed. It may not seem like a big deal at first, but after two weeks, it became an issue as they started sliding around on the hardwood floors because their paw pads were furry. That was on me for not communicating or checking and raising my concerns. Overall, they provided great service and were very convenient, especially compared to the alternative of having my dog caged for hours at a Petsmart. I'm definitely going to continue using them!
