Each of the last two years we have rented a ski boat from this marina for multiple days, and our experience has been great. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, the boats were in very good condition, and the check-in/check-out process was reasonably straightforward. We find it best to call to inquire/reserve rather than using the website. The lake itself is great for waterskiing/wakeboarding, as long as there is enough water (minimum lake elevation of 2270' or so, which can be checked at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/cvo/vungvari/daily.pdf). read more

The cabins were clean and comfortable enough for a week-long stay, but who really wants to stay inside when there's so much to do on the lake and in the surrounding areas? Stayed at the Fawn loop b campsite. Good sized, running water bathrooms and spigot for the campsite. No lights or showers in the bathroom. The site was a bit slopey but it was all shaded which was nice for the 90+ degrees. Did the Trinity Lakeside loop trail which was 8-9 miles with 500-600 ft elevation change. You can catch the trail from the loop b campsite. Very low water line this season during this drought year. There is paddleboarding, kayak, boating, fishing. Water is very mello. Lots of ticks and bugs this season. Very friendly people, not too crowded this memorial weekend. read more

This place is actually open contrary to other Yelpers. They just opened Memorial Day weekend where my friends and I rented a 56' houseboat for a long weekend exploring the vast landscape on Trinity Lake. My bestie made the reservation for the four of us. Upon arrival, we were greeted and welcomed by the most friendly people. We were off to a good start and all very excited to embark on this majestic lake for a beautiful weekend! Yes, the houseboats are dated, but we were overlooking the circa early 90's decor and various stains on the sofa and chairs at the dining area to enjoy the big picture. As we rolled our possessions onto the boat, I noticed many things weren't cleaned properly. Luckily, we brought disinfectant wipes. There are no cleaning solutions supplied. I started with the white fridge handle which was visibly dirty from many hands. Then, I made way to all the light switches and walls at the bedrooms. I had an immediate cringe was the discolorations on the mattresses and the stained flat sheets provided for the bed. The rooms smelled dingy and the mattresses were hard. One mattress was literally "springs" into your back. The pillows were old and had a lingering stench that I was able to disguise with one of their pillowcases and mine from home. I'm happy I brought my own blanket. They provide the cheap fleece variety you might find at a seedy roadside motel. It isn't very clear what you need to bring. Basic kitchen tools are provided. Most of them are not cleaned very well. A new bottle of dish detergent and clean sponge can fix this. There isn't any cleaner for surfaces though, and there was only one roll of paper towels and a few trash bags. The absolute fail was the shower. We noticed kitchen sink water was backed up into the shower on the third day. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower either. This wasn't too bad due to our daily romps in the lake. However, we had to return to the marina early to pump out the tank which apparently had filled up by the 3rd morning?? When we arrived back to the marina, once, again they were very nice and set us up to go back out one more day with extra trash bags and another roll of paper towels. The gray water tank filling up in 2.5 days made no sense though. We were three adults and one child. I can't imagine if the boat was at half or even near capacity of ten people. Either someone didn't clear the tank before we left or this system simply needs repair. I can only surmise it's a little bit of both. That evening we attempted to take showers again, and the kitchen sink water filled the shower pan. We ended up removing the water with a kids' bucket we'd brought and showered before the water overflowed the pan. Considering the several hundreds of dollars spent to rent this thing per night (equivalent to a night's stay at a luxury hotel), this was unacceptable. They could afford to power wash the exterior and do a better job of cleaining the inside also. There were loads of cobwebs, dust and random stains on surfaces. There are a lot of other little things that weren't a big deal but would have been nice to know. They mentioned only Verizon carriers get reception out here. That is true. However, getting data is spotty depending on where you post up for the day or night. That means bring your own music downloaded. There will be no shuffling music services for the most part. The speaker quality is decent but weak on the top deck. We brought our Bose speakers anyways. What's good? The boat was easy to maneuver and was equipped with a compass. The AC was much appreciated on the day it shot up to 90°'s. The top deck was spacious for laying out, fishing from and dancing. The boat can be driven up top also. The basic necessities (stove, fridge, coffee maker, toaster and microwave) all worked fine. I don't know much about their other services (slip rentals/cabins) but I would go to a cleaner and more updated operation to enjoy the lake in the future. Awe missed the BBQ we just happen to be visiting some friends on the three days they were closed. But after reading some of the reviews we will have to plan that for next time. But I must say the campground was spotless and the cabins were cozy. We stayed in cabin 1 that had just been redone and we loved it! The staff was attentive and friendly. There are employees running around all the time eager to answer questions. The pool was a great place to cool off after a day out on the water fishing. There is a little burger and ice cream shop as well as a store for the necessities. Ice and marshmallows for s'mores. Great get away, we will certainly go again and again. Maybe even rent a house boat now that the water is up. read more

We went to Timbers for dinner while at the lake for our annual camping trip. We usually go for the BBQ and karaoke on Saturday night. We couldn't make the BBQ this year so we decided to try the restaurant. Let me say the food was awesome! We all got steaks and they were all perfect. The prime rib was tender and cooked exactly as I ordered. My husband and dad got the black and blue rib eye and they ate every last bite. You get salad and rolls with dinner. We all had Caesar salad and it was very tasty. Lots of fresh Parmesan cheese on top, just how I like it! The rolls have some butter and garlic on top, so good! I had the baked potato, topped with butter and sour cream and the outside was lightly salted, it was excellent! The menu isn't huge but they are good at what they cook. The BBQ on Saturdays is fun but you can't beat the food at the restaurant! We already decided we will be back next year! read more

Timbers Restaurant- open Wednesday-Sunday in the summer. Saturday is BBQ Buffet. We went Thursday nite. Fully stocked bar, the boys enjoyed their tequila sunrises poured just like men who enjoy tequila like.;-O. Very personal attention given to our table. It was BEEF nite for our table. Prime Rib cooked all day to perfection. and Black and Blue Rib eye, seasoned with Cajun spice and topped with blue cheese. All this served with regular or Cesare salad, fresh warm soft buttery garlic rolls, and a choice of 2 sides. garlic fries, onion rings, baked potato, rice pilaf, veggies. All for about $21.00!!!! oh and did I say the steaks and prime rib were cooked to order and done just right!!! I'm going back. read more

We rented 2 cabins at Cedar Stock for 1 1/2 weeks this summer. They told us they supply all the toilet paper, linens (bedding & towels/washcloths), and housekeeping (which means you should arrive to a clean cabin, and they clean upon your departure). One of the cabins was absolutely disgusting! (The other was gross, but not nearly as bad as the other) When we first arrived it quickly became apparent NEITHER bathroom were cleaned prior to our arrival...There was poop on one of the toilet tanks (by the handle) and under the toilet seat, plus hair all over both showers. The front of the dishwasher was faced with a piece of dirty cardboard! After traveling for 10 hours, it took 4 people 2 hours each cleaning the cabin BEFORE we felt it was clean enough to move our belongings in. Then we needed to shift a bed and nightstand over (with permission from the resort) to fit 2 cribs and saw piles of dark matter, so we used a flashlight to see (the entire cabin was VERY dark) PILES of mouse poop, plus massive amounts of mouse poop along all of the baseboards. Very disturbing, especially since our 3 children were crawling and playing on the floors!! Later in the week we requested more towels and washcloths and we were told they only allow 4 washcloths and towels PER WEEK! (EW! I understand reusing towels, but you cannot reuse washcloths for sanitary purposes, and in this disgusting cabin we weren't even reusing the towels!!!) One of the bed blankets was DIRTY! We had to ration toilet paper because we were told they were waiting for their shipment and could only give us 2 rolls at that time (for 9 people! Luckily their shipment arrived just as our supply ran out) As if that wasn't enough, we rented 2 boat slips for our 1 1/2 week stay. The dock chained one of our boats to the dock with a uncoated, metal chain DAYS before our departure. After at least 1/2 hour of discussion with the boat dock, it turns out they double-booked the boat slip, and rather than give the arriving boat a different slip or having a conversation with the office to clear up the error, they chained our boat to the dock, which scratched our boat in the process. After many discussions with the office over all of the problems we had with our $4,000+ vacation, they decided to only give us a refund for 1 night for only 1 cabin. The only good experience with this so-called resort was their Saturday night bbq buffet. We do not recommend any Forever Resorts properties - we stayed at Pinewood Cove last year and it was also terrible. read more
