It's easy to lose track of time as you're enjoying some brews in this Fort Worth dive bar. A couple friends and I were looking for a bar in the area to catch up and enjoy a lazy Sunday, and we decided to try this watering hole. It's a vibe for sure. The space is fairly narrow. There is some seating in the front of the bar, but most of the seating is at the long bar. There are dollar bills pinned up all along the walls with doodles and inscriptions on them. The bar is well lit, and the ambiance was electrifying. The bar itself is chill, but there were Sunday football games on (multiple games) and many people came out to watch their team. One guy even bought shots for the whole bar There are plenty of beers on tap, as well as cans/bottles, and mixed drinks to choose from. The bartender had complimentary chips and crockpot queso to give a tailgating sort of vibe The bartender was good. They were out of a couple beers, and a couple kegs had some issues, but all and all we were well taken care of Some tips: I would recommend going on a Sunday after brunch like we did (during football season). The Mad Hatter is located off West 7th in downtown Fort Worth serving great drinks in a chill but cozy atmosphere along with great bartenders. I stumbled upon this place when I was trying to find a drink in the early morning, but it seemed like everything around the surrounding area was closed until I walked into the doors of The Mad Hatter and was greeted by the lovely bartender. Inside there is a single bar with restrooms along with a stand-up bar. The bar is well decorated with lots of dollar bills hanging up and TVs throughout the bar that was playing sports. They have daily specials on drinks and domestic bottles of beer. While I was there the bartender ordered 2 large complimentary pizzas for the patrons who were sitting at the bar. I thought that was nice and cool for this fine establishment to do something like that considering there is no food options here. I was told if I'm looking for a place to go earlier then I should definitely check out their sister bar that is right up the street called the Rabbit hole which opens up at 7am. Overall, this was such a great experience to go get some early morning drinks before 11am. I will be back in the future since I truly enjoyed my time while i was here. Mad Hatter is the best kind of little bar off west 7th. It's on the side of the street where those of us that aren't "woke" hang out. I'm good with that. It's a dive where almost everyone knows your name. Restrooms are clean and they have a shared parking lot. After bank hours it is also okay to park in their lot. Street parking is also available. read more

I love this place always. When you are here you are safe. You are with family. It's cozy. Small. Well lit. Great place to just relax and enjoy some good music. It's a small space so be prepared to get friendly, but forget all that. Cheap drinks, AWESOME staff, and they're playing dope music even if you don't pay for the jukebox. One of the best bars to go to! Bailey is an amazing bartender who remembers the regulars and makes newcomers feel welcomed! The staff all in all is too notch. Some of the best people I know run this place! Jywon, Dee, & Bailey are always welcoming and loads of fun! You'll also find lots of cool regulars that are always down to meet you and chat about sports, etc. you're sure to have a conversation that makes you laugh! I started coming to this bar a few weeks ago when I newly moved to the city! I have been pleased with every bar tender and honestly have nothing negative to say. I got off work pretty late tonight and had missed dinner and get this... THEY MADE ME A PB&J!!! Typically, people in the bar are incredibly friendly.. tonight we even sang some Backstreet Boys together as a bar. Amazing, truly. I was talking to the owner and complimented his mad hater shirt and get this... HE BROUGHT ME A SHIRT. Never had anything quiet like this! Plus it's dog friendly. Friday night, way after any possibility of Happy Hour and actually heading back to our cars we decided to stop in the Mad Hatter to get one more drink and one of my companions was meeting his mechanic. Of course that's neither here nor there but we stopped. You really couldn't tell from the front entrance what was going on inside but we proceeded and found a quaint little pub. We took some seats at the bar and D (DeAndre) stuck out his hand and introduced himself, that's a nice touch for a small place. Although it was small they had nice very diverse crowd. People seemed to know each other and D knew everybody, not that we felt ostracized by any means. I'm assuming the prices were good, I ordered water and my friends order some adult beverages. I really liked the cozy atmosphere. We actually stayed in bar longer than we anticipated and D checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. It was a busy night for one bartender but he seemed to handle it just fine. I finally got a shot right before we took off. I ordered coconut rum with lime. I've gotten this many times at other place and it varies from a warm to ice cold shot accompanied by a wedge of lime. This time I received a very cold shot of rum with the lime already squeezed. It was damn near perfect. I wished I live closer because this is pub I would frequent, great service, good drinks, good atmosphere everything you could want in a bar. Super friendly and you can tell that everyone loves her. The regular crowd are all fun and a blast to be around. I highly recommend checking the place out. My boyfriend and I randomly stopped in here after Velvet Taco last night. The bar is small and cozy, super clean, and they had decked the place out for Halloween. The bartender Kylie was super friendly and gave us great recommendations. They had some unique beer selections for my boyfriend, and I tried two different flavored Mules ($5 Mules every Monday night!). Highly recommended "dive" bar.
