When we did a little more research and saw a picture of the trio, we soon realized that it was the same trio that my "friend" had serenaded me 3 years before. I just originally planned as surprised party for my husband and his family and a few friends were there at the party. The band went above and beyond my expectations!!! Let me explain 1) very receptive and responsive 2) text friendly and email friendly 3) was accommodating to my request of having to sing for only 15 min AND I requested for a song that they had to learn (unrelated to Latin music) and I was willing to pay more for it. Granted, I paid the same price for 15 min than what they charge for 1 hour BUT I understand. I don't expect to be cut a deal for 15 min because it's not fair to the band. So I was willing to pay the same price for 15 min ( I didn't want a band to play for an hour out of respect for our neighbors). 4) on time! They were here plenty of minutes before call time. Thank you! 5) they sing extremely well without a microphone. 6) very warm vibes from the band. There were three. The young Gentleman who helped me, sorry, was it Ricardo or Rich? Sorry! I have bad memory.. He was always responsive when I contacted him or had a question. Remember, there is a non- refundable deposit. Another Yelper was angry because he had a bereavement in the family and wanted a refund . On a business side aspect, you sign the contract that says non- refundable deposit! Even the damn airlines don't give refunds missing flight, even during a death in family. That's why there is traveler insurance. Don't attack the family and the band. To Javier Vargas and the Trio Mariachi Capri, You took my $100 as a "deposit", then did not show for my party... and then refused to refund the $100 and ignored me. Thanks for taking my money and ruining my bday. Maybe someone is acting as an imposter for these guys? If so the scammers number is 714-698-3052 and one of their names is Yair Carrera. I trust the real Trio Capri will take steps to fix, if there is such a group. I hope everyone that reads this post understands that Trio Capri is 99.99% a SCAM. Despite the warning bells, going off in my head when you asked for a deposit of $100 via Western Union, I trustingly forked over the cash. HUUUGE MISTAKE. First, Trio Capri sent me a bogus contract, ensuring they would arrive and play on the day of my bday. The contract looked like my 8 year old nephew wrote it, but whatever - I said okay this looks fine. Then they asked for a $100 "deposit" via Western Union, to be picked up by Yair Carrera. Accordingly, I sent the deposit. Fast forward three weeks later, I call to make sure they are all good on directions etc.... no answer. I then call the day of the show... no answer. Only by calling with someone else's phone later after they failed to show did we get through to a young man saying that they had car accident and couldn't make it. Yeah BS buddy. Then I asked for a refund - no response. To this day - 3 weeks later I'm yet to receive a refund or even an apology. Please avoid these guys. Every positive review on this Yelp page is fake. I know they look legit and these other reviews look good - but TRUST ME - ITS A SCAM. There are several others below on the Yelp feed that were also scammed by these guys. I never received some form of apology and I have yet to receive a refund for my deposit. I have been going back and forth with them for over a month to get my money back and still nothing. The look on my sister's face and their sound as a trio was priceless. She was nearly in tears of joy and my family adored them. They completely catered to my family's requests, always smiling. They were on their way out at the end of the night and my grandmother requested that they sing one more song for her.
