The furniture has never remained fully functional for any meaningful period of time. While repairs were technically covered under warranty, the process was incredibly frustrating. Replacement parts took months to arrive, calls to the Lancaster store often went unanswered, and corporate customer service made it very clear they did not care that we have spent much of the last year unable to fully use furniture we paid thousands of dollars for. We simply asked about returning or exchanging a sectional that has had ongoing mechanical failures since the beginning, but after more than a year of issues, we were offered only a $100 store credit. I understand defects can happen, but after repeated repairs, long delays, and dismissive customer service, I would not purchase furniture from Big Sandy again.

Selection is great, even notice a brand that I never heard of before (Crosley). Purchased a new Speed Queen set to replace the notorious out of balance LG I bought from a big box store 5 years ago. Was tired of out of balance when spinning. knotted sheets, long wash cycles, and lack of cleaning. The delivery was made yesterday and the installers were excellent. Replaced my dryer vent hose as well as supplied the dryer wiring harness. Leveled appliances and stuck around to run a complete washer cycle. And, even started the dryer and let it run for 20 minutes to make sure it was heating properly. The big box stores don't provide that level of service. Highly recommend this small business.

Excuse me, but when you walk in, huge area selling cell phones, and insurance for anything you buy there to be repaired there???? Apparently, just not cell phones! Well, turns out all we needed was a $5.00 cord that is micro usb on one end and C usb on the other, transfers thru the cable in a few minutes, even all my years of texts to family, which no company in lancaster, all the major carriers did not know how to transfer texts!!!! Apparently, they do not know how to use the internet for research and education, asked and answered, in a moment! So, questionable on how actually helpful they really are, besides selling you something. Disappointing, for sure, but Yay for me, solved it all myself!

I bought it myself and had a problem with the machine not turning on. Capitol Appliance would not deal with me any more, Whirlpool Co. had no one to advise me if it was a faulty board or anything. He heard our concerns and had us try a variety of different mattresses to suit our sleep positions! He also heard our concern about the amount of money we've already paid for our original mattress and not wanting to walk out the door more out of pocket and really took that into consideration and made sure he could match the price on our replacement because of the experience with the original mattress, which was SO nice. 1000000/10 recommend walking in there and specifically asking for Jeremy to help you! honestly the best customer service experience I've ever had!

It is mostly clothes that I would say are fairly priced and they do have a HUGE selection. There shelves were very low on home goods and they just had a few pieces of furniture, but what they had was nice and well-staged. At the back of the store, there is an ADORABLE vintage Mickey Mouse clock. There is no signage to say price or if it is for sale or not. I assumed not, but on my way out, I did ask the two associates at the front (younger blonde-ish lady and middle-aged darker haired lady) if it happened to be for sale. I was completely fine with a no being the answer, but the darker haired lady responded "If you want to give me $1,000 you can have it." Again, I was totally fine with a no, and assumed it probably was not for sale, I just LOVE Mickey Mouse so I wanted to be sure because it isn't every day you see something so cool. I laughed a bit at the response and headed out at that point. The same clock is available on Ebay for $250, but I would have preferred Salvation Army get paid than some random person on Ebay. After leaving, a friend informed me that a majority of the items I had noticed when I walked in that were so nicely staged, are apparently also not for sale. And that staff being turned off by people asking about prices on those items often result in the same attitude back that I experienced. Again, totally fine if you don't want to sell people things, but signs would be nice or a kind response when people ask. I am a pretty firm believer in signage goes a long way, so if staff is going to be put off by people asking if something is or isn't for sale, I would recommend adding some "not for sale" signs around the store. No reason to be snarky with people asking if things are available or not. There are probably better options of places to shop and have a better experience with staff and a more straightforward shopping experience-and where you can still support great causes!

If I had any complaint, it would be that the music is entirely too loud in the shopping area. In my opinion, it should be background music and not excessively noisy. I prefer it more quiet, which allows for better thinking and a much more enjoyable shopping experience. If the staff needs the music loud in order to hear it, they could invest in a small radio near their station. Im very thankful Salvation Army Thrift Store serves our community.
