Trio's is near the house so we frequent it often. They have great variety on the menu and make seasonal adjustments. One that always brings us in is when Arkansas strawberries are in season, they make the best strawberry shortcake you can find. Many of the staff have been there for years, so you get outstanding service. The meals are delicious and proportioned well. I also like the casual atmosphere... This place is great. We came with 4 adults and 5 kids under 11 and the service was great! Food quality was overall great. Stars were the pork tenderloin and the cauliflower steak! All the meals were really good but those two stood out. Nice beer and wine selection as well. Desserts were AWESOME! We had praline cheesecake, key lime, raspberry cheesecake and others. Last night was our first time to try Trio's. Excellent date night location, very quiet, candle at the table, cute especially if you get a table against the wall or otherwise out of the way. Clientele tends to be a little older, which is not surprising given the prices. The appetizer--hot crab dip--was piping hot and delicious. I had the Tasman salmon--amazing! The butter sauce was delicious, and the risotto was the perfect texture and flavor. If anything, the issues I had were with temperature consistency. My pancetta-wrapped esp was room temperature and the risotto was unevenly hot, as if it had been reheated. Also, my drink (can't recall the name, but it was made with blueberries and vodka) was strong, but bitter. My partner had the cider-glazed pork with loaded mashed potatoes, and it was delicious. The rolls are also delicious and fresh-tasting. Overall, I would recommend this place. It was very busy (Friday night) which could explain the temp issues. However, our waiter was superb. It's confession time... I am weak for great & unique brunch places with a fantastic Bloody Mary... I MEAN WEAK. If I could choose my dream job, I would just tour the USA in search of the Holy Grail of Brunch and Bloody Marys. Maybe the Food Network could use a new show.. "Fat Foodie finds Brunch". In a world where Honey boo-boo is a star, why not? My visit to Trio's didn't start out well. I was completely unimpressed with my server. It really took me a little while to get over, and I considered packing my bags and going some place else. I mean the guy was an idiot. Thankfully, I didn't let that get the best of me (for a change). I actually settled for a compliant with the management. And I am glad I did. Had I left, I would have missed out on a great brunch with crazy unique dishes. And a strong Bloody Mary as well. I just had a completely random craving for Trio's, I haven't had food from there's since like 2003...but one thing stands out in my mind DUKE OF WINDSOR SANDWICH (sliced turkey, melted cheddar, crisp bacon, grilled pineapple, and mango chutney on sour-dough bread - UH HELLO). I LOVE that they have their hearts out on display and support the reversal of the injustice known as the West Memphis Three --good for them to stand up for what they believe. Lucked up on the first try at this Little Rock Dining Staple. I can't believe I've lived in Central AR all these years and never tried this restaurant. Oh well, better late than never. Today we discovered the Zydeco Gumbo (daily special, the menu changes regularly). It ranks right up there among the best I've ever had! The roux had just the right amount of spice and the andouille sausage, shrimp and chicken combo with that garlic bread-- oh my! I have a young adult child interning in Little Rock, and they could not get home to Maryland for Thanksgiving. They were feeling pretty homesick, and I wanted to send them comfort food. I googled and came across Trio's. When I explained what I was looking for, the manager couldn't have been more helpful. She helped me decide on the entree, sides, appetizer, and dessert. She wrote a card. And then she delivered the food and gave my child a much needed hug. The Chicken and Dumplings were incredible, as were the roasted potatoes. Trio's is the ideal setting for a casual lunch date or visiting with good friends. Their light summer menu makes the dog days of summer a little more tolerable in Little Rock. Locally grown tomatoes used in their Arkansas Caprese and Grilled Chicken are fabulous, and I highly recommend this dish. Save room for Strawberry Shortcake or at least plan to share a dessert! Tl;dr great food, suspicious wallpaper. We had the spinach dip as an appetizer - great dip and the cracker dippers were perfect. I had the quiche Lorraine as the entre, with fresh fruit on the side. The quiche was genuinely awesome, though I wished the portion was larger. The fruit was a good mix of strawberries, blueberries, mellon, pineapple, etc. The only hiccup is more about ambiance: it seems like a place you come to with your grandma. I was able to slip in for dinner just before closing on Sunday night. I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp Pasta. It could easily have been served in one the best Cajun restaurants in New Orleans. It was spicy with just the right amount of heat and plenty of jumbo shrimp. If the weather is nice Trios has a wonderful outdoor deck. I enjoyed my Friday night dinner at Trio's! I had Julia Child's recipe for boeuf bourguignon which I thought was generally OK although somewhat too salty. I have never ordered this dish before so perhaps this was proper; but still, I don't see myself ordering it again at Trio's. My friend had the halibut special and it was REALLY good!! The atmosphere was great! Kind of a cross between dressy and casual. Nice decorations and furnishings featuring lots of original artwork (I guess from local artists). Best wild salmon dinner ever in Little Rock. I applaud Trio's for serving wild salmon and not farmed. It was perfectly prepared and served hot. After getting another free gift card, we decided to try this place again. While inside decor had changed. The vibe here is cracker barrel upscale cliental. Same boring and plane menu although they had two "new dishes," one of these dishes we wanted was apparently sold out. We tried their most popular appetizer again, melted cheese and crab. It literally looks like someone vomited in a plate. Free bread brought to the table were dinner rolls you get at local krogers, but tasted stale even though they came out "piping hot." Fail safe voodo pasta i had to settle for was ok. The pasta was under cooked, the andou sausage was without taste. the chicken tossed in was bland without seasoning or retaining sauce. Trios continues to have boring, bad food. Anyone that boosts this is one of the best places in LR must be eating rocks, because there are many many better options. Its way over priced for how mediocre the food is. The only redeeming factor is the wait staff. Theyre very friendly and accomodating. As i mentioned above, free gift card is only reason that brought us back as we will not eat here unless its free. read more

What do I think of the food at Trio's? I couldn't tell you. Even though my boyfriend and I had been seated for 15-20 minutes, not even one single person came by to offer water or let us know that they were busy. Whoever came up with the chicken salad/cherry jello/fruit plate is a genius! The quiche is always good also. My favorite is the dessert tray where a tray covered in heavenly pies and cakes is shown to customers who then have the difficult choice of picking just one! My last visit here was a few years ago, before moving away. We are visiting LR and decided to check it out. Taking into consideration that this is most definitely a fine dining restaurant, what in the heck is the deal with having a big table, immediately upon entering devoted to freeing the west memphis three? No matter your opinion on the guilt or innocence of these three, it is inappropriate. Did not set a good stage for the rest of the evening. Prepare to spend about $25 per person. My husband and I both had to salt our food, and the service left something to be desired. Our waiter was slow to show. I hate when tables around you have a different waiter who is dynamite with their tables! So, real snobby atmosphere, food just ok, service just ok, and major devisive politics at the front door. Food was good, but way overpriced. Eclectic menu, without any discernable theme, so yay for variety, but just kind of a hodgepodge of foods. We got (minimal sharing unfortunately so limited comments here): - Cajun Shrimp & Fried Green Tomatoes (me): 5-6 pieces of shrimp, which were well-cooked and well-seasoned, along with maybe 1/4 of a tomato, in 4-5 thin slices, fried, and a corn relish. Tasty, but for $17, pretty absurd. Was tempted by some fish also, but at $26 for a couple dishes, c'mon. I'm used to prices in SF, where I'd expect this, but in Little Rock, this is unreasonable. - chicken salad with fruit and banana bread: what is this combination? 3 things on a plate that don't go well together. and weirder yet, the fruit was a substitution for jello. Jello? Really? This is where I really question the "inventive" idea. - cucumer soup (soup of the day): chilled, and creamy, likely from sour cream. nice, and not too heavy, and was well-received by its chief consumer, but I've had much better cucumber soup. - The Best Hot Crab Dip: was well-received - Warm Brie with Mango Chutney & Almonds: touched, but barely - Chicken Enchiladas: also very well-received One other nitpick I have is the relative lack of healthy/vegetarian options. Aside from a Caesar salad and House salad, even the other salads were questionable, including bacon even. And only one or two entrees that were vegetarian, though it could be worse. It's hard to describe a place that really defines excellence in the market, but Trio's is a delightful, delicious restaurant and has stayed that way for years. I usually only come for lunch, but the dinners I've had here have been wonderful as well. But I think I really prefer the atmosphere and energy at lunch, and I keep returning here for this enjoyable combination of great food, pretty scenery and the celebratory vibe. Recently, a friend of mine moved to Little Rock, and we met to run some errands and go to lunch. She didn't have any preferences so I immediately suggested Trio's (and I realized later I've taken other visitors and new residents here... I guess I like to welcome them with some of the best Little Rock has to offer). We were immediately seated by a sharply dressed host in the middle of the front dining area. Our server promptly asked for our drink orders, and my friend ordered a glass of wine, and I had my standby club soda with lime. After looking at the menu for a long time -- frozen by all the delicious choices -- my friend ordered the Greek quiche. When she asked the waitress if she should have the green salad or the fruit salad for a side, the waitress absolutely lit up and said, "Oh, our fruit salad is so good!" and my friend chose that and was glad she did! I ordered what I almost always get, the brie with mango chutney. Not too long ago, they changed the plating and started sending it out with soda crackers instead of bread, but I prefer the former iteration, so I asked for it with bread. The waitress asked several questions to make sure that I would get exactly what I wanted, and I did. It is also served with green apple slices. It's listed as an appetizer, but it is plenty of food for lunch. This time, we eschewed the dessert tray, but this is probably unwise. Trio's dessert tray is always a wealth of sweet treats. You should probably plan to have something -- at least split something with your friends -- when you go. I've also had the happy opportunity to celebrate my 40th birthday in Trio's private party room, and this was great, as well! My husband planned it with Stephanie, from Trio's, and he was given menu options from Capi's as well as Trio's. We had a great group that night, and had our own bar tender and music. Many people told us how much they enjoyed the party and the setting. In the interest of full disclosure, I will say that I have worked with Trio's and Capi's on social media communications, though I don't currently do such work with these restaurants. Trios is our favorite restaurant in Little Rock because it is consistently excellent and innovative with its recipes. Trios was locally sourcing ingredients before locally sourcing was cool. Eating there is always a difficult choice between one of my favorite dishes in the the world, the Thai Shrimp Curry, or any of their monthly specials. My wife loves the shrimp enchiladas.
