Wonderful family owned place, great service and awesome chili. Great place to spend a snowy afternoon.

Macaroni and cheese stuffed smoked turkey leg

I was working up in Wasilla for a week (don't wanna talk about it) and I discovered this spot from a coworker, who saw their post on social media. Although not *technically* a BBQ truck, they are close. They have one thing every day and when they runout, that's it! On the day I ordered it was "stuffed" smoked turkey legs. It was about $26 for big smoked turkey leg. The "stuffed" part comes in because they had a gash in them into which mac n' cheese was poured. The turkey leg was smoky and delicous, perfectly cooked. One critique: it was very, very salty. Make sure you have lots of fluids if you take this one on! The mac n cheese flowing out of it was also really good, but it wasn't very hot (temp wise), it was close to lukewarm. The turkey meat was much hotter than it. The price is also pretty steep. The turkey leg *was* massive, and could likely feed two average people. My appetite is too big though, so I was able to take this sucker down in one sitting, sodium levels be damned!

The Mac and cheese and collard greens stuffed on top of the turkey leg ( I ate most of the Mac and cheese before taking the pic)

This place is sort of tucked away but definitely worth checking out. It's not located in the main areas of Wasilla and it's not a food truck. It's a coffee hut type structure that has drive up windows and a cute little outdoor picnic area. The service is awesome! They are very friendly and the food portions are massive! I ordered my food at the window and was directed to drive around and park. They brought the food out to me and it's a huge to go foil pan of food! The food was really good and super filling. I ordered the stuffed turkey leg with Mac and cheese and collard greens. There was soooo much food for $30. I brought it home and shared the plethora of goodness. The Mac & cheese and collard greens stuffed the turkey legs and individually each of the items were tasty on its own. Thursdays is the stuffed turkey special but I am eager to try the other specials offered on others days for sure.

I have ordered every week since I first tried their food 3 weeks ago. I had their Cajun boil & I am obsessed with their turkey leg! I also love the way they make their candied yams. Best candied yams I've had in Alaska so far! I want to try their fried okra next time too. My family is also now hooked on this place.

First time visiting Alaska with my wife, we both love food and trying out new places to eat and stumbled across Triple A's Soulfood. The service was fantastic and the weather was perfect for outdoor sitting. The food was probably the best food we've ever ate. We will be back here for sure. If you like great food, try this place out.

Here is a gem in a far off place from the basis of its inspiration. I'm on a strict diet and could…read morenot try many things and I don't like wasting money so I got a small dish that I could tolerate eating. The BBQ shrimp it was. Now anyone who knows about this dish understands it's not the same type of BBQ like we do ribs and chicken. This is a butter sauce that's seasoned to creole standards and served with French bread. Typically it's served in shell however these were peeled and served in the sauce. I'm not mad at this as I didn't have to get messy to peel the shrimp and dip the sauce etc. it was nice to eat it with a fork and already doused in the sauce. The bread was easy to dip and it wasn't salty. I'd love for my New Orleans born friends to make the trip in order to check this place out. I went early in the day shortly after opening so it wasn't salty not crowded at all and the host whisked me to a table with a good view for people watching. They were able to handle greeting, serving, and bartending between the 2 of them and not lose any grace or standards of service. I explained my dietary restrictions and the young lady was happy to navigate me through the menu. They have a full bar that I'm interested in delving into but I had to work later that day so water and soda were sufficient.

Definitely do the combo if you can it's a good way to get a chance to taste both. I went with the oyster and shrimp po boy and it was one of the best things I ate on my trip. Where things fall apart a bit for me is the beignets. We were looking for a quick convenient spot to grab some food and my husband loves beignets so it felt like a no brainer. The menu did not mention them being filled with anything or served with chocolate sauce drizzle and ice cream. He can't have chocolate or dairy so when the first set comes out and they have chocolate drizzle on them so we tell the waitress he can't have the chocolate so she takes them away and comes back with another set almost right away but without the chocolate drizzle. Then he tries one and it's full of chocolate. We mention that and she's like well half of them are lemon. We didn't expect any of them to be anything since our prior experience is just light and airy sweet dough covered in powdered sugar and maybe served with a sauce. These were more like doughnut holes with filling. So despite the amazing service otherwise and the restaurant being so spacious we didn't even notice a huge party this is a 3.5/5 for us. Definitely could have been a 4.5 if they had stuck the landing for sure.

It's run by Crush Wine Bistro which is one of the nicer restaurants in town nearby so you're definitely getting a local, nice fare while at the museum. There are a handful of vegetarian options including 2 salads, baked make and cheese, falafel, a grilled cheese sandwich, and a couple of bowls. So a decent amount of things to choose from along with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks galore. My wife and I shared the goat cheese salad which we thought was really fresh, good, and hearty enough for the two of us...especially when I added the grilled cheese sandwich...a very slightly upscale version of a basic grilled cheese with American cheese...no bells or whistles here, possibly a tiny bit saltier than I would have liked it to be...but not over-buttered...it was almost like it was very lightly grilled or baked even so, despite it being a grilled cheese, it felt a little bit healthier. You order at the counter and they bring you your food into the dining area which had plenty of comfortable places to sit. I don't know that we would head to Muse on it's own, but it was a perfect and satisfying place to go while visiting the museum.
