Stopped in for a quick coffee while my sister had an appointment in the area. There were a few customers scattered throughout the cafe, all seemed quite content with their coffee & their laptops. WiFi is available, and the barista welcomed me like I was in Cheers. The cafe has the quaint, homey feel and capitalizes on the Performing Arts center across the street. Ample seating, and comfortable seating at that. Limited menu, but it all looks pretty healthy. The coffee - a medium roast - was as advertised: rich, aromatic, hot, and fresh. Triple Moon Coffee Company was one of those wonderful little places we stumbled upon. The shop is set in an old pharmacy which adds to the charm. There is ample seating within the shop including couches and counter seating. The coffee was impressive as we tried a caramel frappe as well as a Cuban coffee. The staff was warm and courteous and you didn't have to wait a long time for your coffee. Cannot wait to go back for another Cuban coffee. read more

Its a basic menu with sandwiches and is in Downtown Middletown. There are a tons of places to sit and it never feels to crowded. I didn't get to sit and eat so maybe my experience would've been better, but the take out left something to be desired. I ordered the oatmeal from the menu, only to be told that it was actually pre-packaged oatmeal that they added water to; and they didn't do a good job at that. The water was semi-hot so the oats never cooked. I also ordered a veggie wrap that came with chips. I waited a few hours to eat it (I ate the oatmeal immediately) and I guess the sweat from the wrap made the chips in the styrofoam container damp and chewy. The wrap wasn't awful but it had A LOT of beans in it. The best food item was a mini apple pie. It was amazing after I popped it in the microwave for a minute. Oh! I can't forget the drink! I had a pumpkin latte and it was delicious! The place it's self was kind of eclectic and it seemed like a cool place to hang out on a rainy afternoon (which it was). I don't come up this was often but if I did, I'd stop just to get a latte. read more

Independently owned, and located in downtown Middletown, this very nice coffee shop is very spacious, and has many places to sit. I'm really trying to like Triple Moon, but they're making it hard. : | I've been about three times now. The coffee is pretty good, but I find the specialty drinks are just too sweet. I went today and had to wait about 5 minutes before being being waited on. The barista acknowledged me briefly and apologized when she took my order. She said they were doing catering. Seemed like they needed more help. I didn't feel super welcome. I would have liked to get a muffin or something, but none of the sweets looked appetizing. Out of four offerings, three were gluten-free or paleo. I appreciate that they are catering to those needs, but I had a gluten-free scone from here before and it was the worst scone I've ever had. It was very tough and doughy, like it had been over-kneaded. So instead I got an everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel did not have very much "everything" on it--very bare. I was given a spoon instead of a knife to spread the cream cheese (got it to go), and they were also out of cup sleeves, so she gave me a double cup, which was awkward. I found out by the time I got home (10 minutes), the coffee wasn't hot enough to even need a sleeve. In fact I had to warm it up in the microwave. I'll give Triple Moon another try for coffee, but forget the pastries and bagels. The prices are good. I got the largest coffee (Caramel Macchiato) and a bagel with cream cheese for $5.75. I will say that the shop is beautiful inside and is really supporting downtown Middletown. They participate in events and regularly have local bands play. I hope they succeed, but they need to step up their game. read more

There's no place in town that I'd rather get my coffee. The cafe is clean and inviting, the staff are friendly and helpful and the coffee is great. They have sandwiches too. My favorite is the 'Bad Hunter:' a vegetarian wrap with black beans and an avocado spread, delicious. Stop in for your caffeine fix or a comfortable environment to read a book. read more

When I first went to Triple Moon, I was underwhelmed by the seeming lack of management when busy. Fortunately, I had decided go give it another try and was very happy that I did. I go to school at Miami and have always wanted a place to have a warm cup of coffee and a good homework environment. I've been going there now on either Tuesday or Thursday for a couple of weeks now and have only had happy experiences. All of the staff is extremely friendly towards me, and acts as if they actually want to be there (which unfortunately is rare). I will say, their coffee and tea is oddly not "hot" and maybe even a little on the lower warm side. Honestly though, I don't mind it because that just means I can drink it right away. I've never tried their sweet drinks, because I can't handle sweet coffee, but they have plenty to choose from if you do. Lastly, all of the food and pastries I've had there have been very good. I wouldn't suspect they are the type to resell old baked goods that haven't gotten sold because they already had different options when I had returned the day after my visit.
