Fried chicken, creamed corn, green beans, cabbage
    Matthew L.

The service is so sweet and nice. Its counter service, delicious food, and a lot for 1 person. Stopped by for lunch, and I died and went to heaven. The cornbread doesn't have any added sugar, the creamed corn is perfect, the cabbage is nicely braised, and the chicken is to die for. I will be stopping by again when I travel through. All of it for $12 with tip.

Stopped here on the way up from Montgomery, (the slow way!). Too early for BBQ, (drat!), but breakfast was just fine. Can't wait to stop in a little later in the day for the regular dinner!

Great place. Friendly wait staff. Fries and onion rings did not agree with me every time I ate them. But everything else was great

OK food. Nothing special. Probably good there are not a lot of choices close. Best dish was dessert, the fried pies.

The minute we walked in and heard the live music, we knew we were going to have a good time. The food did not disappoint. My mom and daughter both had the pasta--one swapped the crawfish for chicken and the other for shrimp--and both versions were delicious. Hubby had the steak and eggs, and the one bite he was willing to spare was surprisingly delicious too! I went with the fried green tomatoes and Brussels sprouts because I already knew I'd be helping myself to some pasta from their plates. We finished it all off with banana pudding and key lime pie, and both were the perfect ending. Great food, live music, good vibes, friendly server and a fun stop on the road home. Definitely glad we found this place! Also, a great looking bar with lots of TVs so would be great in the evening as well.

There was a guy performing live there, and the music was not so overpowering that you were unable to talk across the table. Very pleasant. Service was slow but it appeared they were understaffed. Order bowl of Gumbo for appetizers. We went on and provided our entree orders at that time as well. We waited about 25-30 minutes a different person brought out our order. I ask the server to take the gumbo back, as we had order that as an appetizer. In a few minutes our original server brought the gumbo back to our table. I told her we had ordered that as an appetizers, the server apologized and said it had gotten "Lost in the kitchen, keep it, I'll take care of it". About the food, wife ordered salad with chicken. The salad had 4 large fried chicken tenders on it. I order the sirloin tips over rice. Overall tasty, but gravy was a little salty. Dish included some green beans as well which were tasty. Overall experience was ok, service a little slow which I don't understand with the lower population in the dining room. When I got the check, the gumbo was still on the ticket. Not sure what "I'll take care of it " meant, not what I expected. I paid for it without saying anything else. Actually it was pretty good gumbo. Paid the bill, left a good tip, as the server seemed to be running her legs off. Going back? Probably so, but it'll be a while till I do.

I had made the reservation well in advance, and upon arrival, the hostess initially attempted to seat us in the bar area. I politely declined and requested a table in the main dining room, which was accommodated without issue. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and provided very good service throughout the evening. We began with the charcuterie plate and mixed green salad. The charcuterie was underwhelming, consisting of a few slices of seemingly packaged salami, several cheeses, jam, and crackers. The salad was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. For our entrées, we selected the Wagyu New York strip and the bone-in pork chop. The Wagyu was overly salty and not at all impressive, particularly for the price. It was accompanied by oddly seasoned, dehydrated green beans that did little to enhance the dish. The pork chop, however, was the clear highlight of the meal. It was excellently prepared and served with delicious grits. SpringHouse has a warm, inviting rustic atmosphere and remains a pleasant dining experience overall. Some of the food preparation and execution would benefit from greater refinement, but there was still enough to enjoy that we would return

Also came with a huge wedge of cake. The chicken was very flavorful and fried well. The green beans were tasty as well. I wasn't a fan of the cake..a bit dry. A quintessential…read moremeat-and-three in the Auburn area, Pannie-George's definitely gives patrons a truly southern experience. I've been to hundreds of these local eateries all over the Southeast and will offer my honest opinion. In true Lower Alabama fashion, the fried chicken batter is thin and crispy (not thick and crunchy), the mac 'n' cheese is runny but cheesy, and the pork chops are soaked in gravy. It's delicious comfort food for the after-church crowd pouring in on a Sunday, or customers looking for an affordable bite to eat on a weekday. There are some downsides that prevented my rating from mirroring the stratospheric and glowing reviews on user-driven platforms like Yelp. While the batter is wonderful, the chicken is dry. The rice is uneventful. And the mac 'n' cheese was a little runnier than I prefer but wonderfully flavorful nonetheless. The choices for bread were stale Hawaiian rolls or homemade cornbread. For dessert, the lemon pie is quite delicious. And the experience is authentic and enjoyable. I recommend Pannie-George's for a simple, hearty meal.

Fried green tomatoes- wasn't the biggest fan of pimento cheese, but if that's your thing I'm sure it would have been delicious. I had the strawberry / spinach salad. It was decent but a little too much dressing on parts and a bit dry in others. The biscuits were a star of the other meal. Sadly, no lattes... the only other bummer was that the waiter forgot my cocktail. He apologized when I asked for it... I know accidents happen

I believe it effected some of the flavors of foods that were boiled in it, too. Gnocchi had some of the same off flavor. In addition, some of the flavors just feel way out of whack for totally unrelated reasons. Sauce that the duck came in was thin and overwhelmed by honey. The risotto it was served with seems like it should be rich and homey. But despite a crazy amount of added dairy still tasted thin and flat. Can't tell you why. Wonky seasoning? None of the dishes reflected any familiarity with acid to lighten or balance a dish. Fried green tomatoes were pretty mid despite a quality remoulade and a bunch of pimento cheese. Ingredients seem like they're decent quality. Desserts are legitimately top notch. Everyone recommends the peanut butter pie. And it is excellent, though pretty obviously not long out of the freezer. The affogato Is legitimately fantastic. And I'm not even talking about the pageantry of dumping the espresso on the salt ice cream. The combo is legitimately satisfying, like a well-rounded creamy candy. The plates are funky and cool and beautiful. The staff all seem like they're 19, attractive, and gregarious.
