The Best Dogs in not only in Wisconsin, but the whole Midwest! Not just the Chicago Dog, but the array of other selections. Especially the Johnny Bravo!

First Chicago style dog, DELICIOUS!!!! The people working there were very pleasant, had a nice conversation. The restaurant had a great vibe, looked very cool. Prices were decent as well. Food great! Customer service GREAT!!!

Two stars because their process of running the kitchen is in need of some help as the terrible use of wrongly sized equipment and layout really impact performance and quality of the output. You might a get a dog that's not real warm, likely not hot. Same story with anything being steamed or warmed. Oil tastes a bit over due for a change, and is likely not hit enough so anything fried is oil and not the best tasting drown out by the oil. All of the equipment is either undersized or being used poorly to result in something more akin to a really well done concessions experience at a high school basketball tournament. We've had numerous items on the menu. Always the same story. Barely warm to coolish food, not warm soft steamed buns, oilish fried food, the dog build is "ok", little light on the toppings sometimes because the build process is inconsistent (bad processes) but with cool buns they break apart and become hard to eat... soft steamed bun keep it all together folks... it's not a neat thing to do, it's a requirement to hold it all together. People are really nice, and they try hard, but they work and act like it's their first time every time. With not much effort this could be 5 stars no problem!

I really like trolley dogs & feel the place is quite chill, loving the atmosphere. The people are laid back, love that they're always playing music!. I feel they do close a bit early but that is really the only down side. I find the food reasonably priced,a meal is typically $5-6,fries & drink included which I find to be just awesome. I love the fries by the way an quite enjoy the pizza puffs & polishes, have yet to try anything else. Will def be back for future reference.

#7. Johnny Bravo Dog So good!

Good cheap Chicago style dog with fries. This is the only place I go when I have a Chicago style hot dog taste to satisfy.

I ordered the half garbage plate with sausage and bacon. Pro tip: ask the difference between the half and the whole before you commit. The half comes with three eggs. The whole comes with five. Five. I chose wisely. Oh and don't forget the homemade bread smothered in butter! It's clearly a neighborhood staple. People were greeting each other by name, swapping stories across tables, and operating like they've been meeting there every Saturday since 1974. Thankfully, they extend that same friendliness to random out-of-towners who just wandered in hungry. The vibe is energetic and communal, the kind of place where conversations overlap and nobody seems to mind. It has a modern, eclectic feel, but there's also a subtle time-machine quality to it. Like you stepped into the 1960s, just with better coffee and fewer ashtrays. Perfect blend of nostalgic and now.

If you're a snobby person or someone with tons of food allergies don't come here. They are irrelevant in a very good way. I would stick to the basics here. My friend got the cheeseburger with fries and it was perfect. They have fresh meat, no frozen patties. I got the half order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and it was perfect diner style food. The portions are huge so a half order was way more than enough. My friend had the roast beef omelette and I wouldn't recommend it because the beef was in chunks and was full of gristle. However, everything else was terrific. I didn't have the garbage plate because the portion was huge but it's on my list for next time. Maybe I'll split it with someone because you need to come hungry. Prices are very reasonable but it's cash only.

Basically every screen in the place was must-watch TV and the bartender -- understandably distracted, perhaps -- decided that was the ideal moment to restock straws and cut fruit. We waited. In the heat. Our server was genuinely good when he materialized, which wasn't as often as we'd have liked. Food: the cheese curds earned their reputation. The Mekts burger was fine -- solid, no complaints. The Reuben rolls, however, arrived looking exactly like what they were: a Sysco product plated with minimal ceremony. Hard pass next time. As for the name -- if you're picturing a dock, pilings, maybe a gull or two -- walk outside and squint hard past the road and the rooftops. Big lake's out there somewhere. Technically. Maybe a 3.2 night in a 4.3 restaurant. I'd go back on a slow Tuesday in October.
