Though Trolley Treats is mostly snacks and goodies, I got the cutest little Dumbo mini planter with a faux succulent inside for $23 there several years ago. It was so darn cute and lasted 4 years until he met a humpty-dumpty-demise last week. While my faux Dumbo faux plant has faux passed, Trolley Treats happily carries on! Found on Buena Vista Road (near the entrance) in Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Park they are known for their caramel apples, cake pops and cookies. If you are at the Storytellers statue of Walt & Mickey or at the Carthay Circle Fountain, look across the way to the corner shop and there you'll find Trolley Treats. This is a usual end of the day shop I go into to grab some cute instagrammable and/or delicious treats for the road. I got the cutest Steamboat Mickey Mouse cookie and Mickey Mouse Cake Pops from here. I don't enjoy caramel apples but goodness do I love looking at them here. They do so many cool decorations on them...Jack Skellington caramel apple, Olaf caramel apple, Snow White's poison apple, Oswald caramel apple, Sorcerer Mickey mouse caramel apple and Mike Wazowski caramel apples just to name a few! They're all so cool. They also carry the elusive churro toffee here (overrated in myyyyy opinion! lolz). Also, the dark chocolate covered pineapple here makes you kinda feel healthy. Trolley Treats is nestled along the Buena Vista Street, as soon as you walk inside Disney's California Adventure. The design of the Trolley Treats is themed from a trolley car depot, and vintage Hollywood designs like the decor, and whimsical signage. The store is quite immersive and such a fantastic experience. The ambiance of the store is amazing with a wide range of candy, both classic and Disney themed. The shelves inside the store have packaged sweets from chocolate bars and gummies to lollipops and taffy. Seasonal offerings and limited edition Disney themed confections are offered at Trolley Treats too! You'll want to check the Disneyland's mobile application's for their current hours of operation! One of the highlights of Trolly treats for me is the collection of character inspired goodies. There are Mickey shaped chocolates and cookies as well as candies that are Pixar themed. Many of these treats can be beautifully packaged for souvenirs or gifts. Discounts are accepted at Trolley Treats. The Magic Key Holder Discounts, Disney Vacation Club Discounts and Disney Visa Cardmember Perks can be used. This was one of my first times visiting the store at Disney's California Adventure during my last trip over the Holidays in December. If you venture to Disney California; right after you pass the market you will find Trolley Treats that turns into an ice cream shop and then a Starbucks!!!! Just go in and let the Disney magic take you through there. Of all of the delightful treats, the churro toffee square is by far the best sweet treat I've ever tasted. Toffee square coated in white chocolate and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I hate that I only bought one. Paired with a strong cup of coffee it was heaven!!! They have display cases filled with beautiful treats, and lots of options to choose from. We actually had a bit of trouble deciding but the employee Jordan was great packing up what we wanted through all our chaos. I got the Minnie Strawberry Cereal Treat with M and M's. I'd gotten too excited so I forgot to take a picture but it was pretty and pink. I was here for the churro cookie which, at first glance, did not see any available in the window. I asked the cashier on the side and she checked with another worker who said they were just coming out of the prep area and about to be displayed! They both got excited to see more stocked and happy to serve a customer (me) looking for that cookie! A quick walk through the line, Magic Key discount applied, and I was on my way! I dealt with a separate cashier at checkout but he, along with the two girls who first helped, were all kinda, friendly, and worked fast to get the line moving. Now the cookie itself was okay, but by "okay" I mean it just did not have that churro flavor I hoped for. This tasted more like a snickerdoodle which I guess a churro is essentially a snickerdoodle having the same or similar cinnamon-sugar flavors and ingredients. During the pandemic lockdown, Disney has opened up a small area of the park along with Downtown Disney for shopping experiences only due to the lockdown and there may be waits to get into the stores due to capacity restrictions. There's no charge to come during the lockdown period. Parking is available in the Simba/Downtown Disney lot off Disneyland Drive. It costs $10 per car daily. There is no AP discount on parking. After finishing Christmas shopping at Downtown Disney, I made my way here to see the reopened Buena Vista Street. The experience was a little less magical, but it was nice to see all the holiday-themed candies and treats on display. The front door was closed, entrance through the side instead. They removed the queue for Clarabelle's Hand-Scooped Ice Cream to ensure enough space to social distance. While waiting in line, you will be tempted to pick up a few sweets on display. Rows and rows of lollipops, peanut brittle, and popcorn greet you as you make your way to the front. Hand-pulled candy canes were not available this season, but there are a variety of cookies, cupcakes, caramel apples, and Rice Krispies treats to choose from. Some of the more unique items include churro toffee and peppermint mallow wand. I chose the giant sugar cookie dressed in a Santa suit, the churro toffee, and the Rice Krispies treat that was shaped as Mickey, topped with M&M'S® and drizzled with a dash of chocolate. The toffee is one of my favorite snacks, so simple yet so delicious. It has a nice thin layer of white chocolate, it's not hard to chew on at all, and the cinnamon sugar just finishes it off nicely! All the treats tasted fresh, and it was good the next day as well. After completing your purchase, the exit is through the merchandise shop Julius Katz & Sons. Great place to stop in while Disney California Adventure Park if you are craving something sweet. They offer a great variety of sweets from cookies, cupcakes, lollipops and cotton candy. Plus much more. We decided to stop in before leaving the park for the night for a treat to enjoy later. We went for more of the churro toffee (which is AMAZING) and of course impulse bought extra stuff. We opted for a Mickey sugar cookie with a hint of pineapple in the frosting, a chocolate cake pop, cotton candy and confetti popcorn. We also bought a churro cupcake at the recommendation of the girl behind the counter. Everything was amazing. It was pretty pricey, but that is honestly to be expected at Disney. Delicious Candied Apples Here! Located in Carthay Circle, this shop shares space with a cafe/coffee shop. They have a variety of chocolate and candies. I am a fan of everything I tried. One thing stands out the most..The Candied Apples! ~Candied Apples-5 Stars! The little one and I each had our own. She had Minnie. I had Wizard Mickey. Each had a large and juicy Granny Smith Apple. This Granny Smith Apple was encased by marshmallow, caramel and a final rich chocolate layer. They didn't stop there. The chocolate layer was bedazzled with candied sparkle treats and glitter candy. In one word...WOW! How much you ask??? $10 each. This apple is a true dessert and you won't find a cheaper one at this quality anywhere! Sit out on a patio table with a coffee or at the fountain. You can hangout in Carthay Circle with this amazing treat and watch a couple of shows, meet characters or just people watch. The rest of the items are good, too. Customer service is great. I just think these are the best candied apples I have had. Tip: I liked eating my apple whole and watching people gape and watch me eat it while they stood there jealous as heck. For smaller people, you can ask them to cut the apple. This apple is so large that it is ideal for two to share. Every year after Thanksgiving, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure sells fresh, hand-pulled candy canes. In order to buy one (or two), you need to line up early to get a wristband. The wristband gives a date (same day) and time for you to return in order to purchase a fresh candy cane. You are limited to one candy cane per wristband and two wristbands per person. The days alternate between the two parks so only one location will make them per day. The day I went, the canes were being made in DCA at Trolley Candy Treats. Grace C. and I arrived shortly before park opening and were allowed into DCA at 7:45 am. We waited about 15 minutes in line before we received our wristbands that told us to come back at 11:30 am. We ended up going to breakfast at Steakhouse 55 in the time being. I wandered back to the parks to kill some time and by the time I got to Trolley Treats, I could see them packaging the candy canes. It's a really cool process to watch. This is our favorite candy shop in all of Disneyland and California Adventure. The service is great, and the candy is fresh and delicious. We came here the other day to get out of the crowds. My son was definitely in the mood for chocolate and knew exactly what he wanted. He wanted to get the Mickey Mouse cookie, chocolate covered strawberries, and a rice crispy treat with mini M&Ms. It would have been harder for me to make a decision since everything looked so yummy here! This store has a great selection and smells so wonderful. A few displays around the store highlighted some favorite items. The shelves were filled with lots of delicious cookies and candy. Although we didn't spot the chocolate covered pretzels in the shape of Mickie Mouse on this last visit, everything in that case looked amazing! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They pointed out some favorites in the glass case and reminded us about the annual pass-holder discount. The employees were very "sweet" and thoughtful here! Everything was so fresh! The cookie tasted like it was straight out of the oven and those strawberries were wonderful as well. There are several places to purchase the high-priced treats around Disneyland and California Adventure. All-in-all they are about the same, however I do notice that Trolley Treats may not have as long of a line and possibly just a bit more of a selection.... or could be my imagination? It was our birthday trip, we have birthdays just one day apart and we chose to spend the day at the Park... all day! The lady behind the counter, I want to say her name was Lillian (I wish I could remember because she was the epitome of Disney) greeted us and helped make selection of sinful treats. She was extra perky and super extra helpful. As she rung us up, I turned to my friend and said "Oh dang, we forgot to get our birthday buttons". Lillian looked up with a grin and said we could get them right there with her!! She asked us about our friendship, and what we liked most about each other, our names, all that stuff. She filled in our buttons, complete with our age and the date on the back. But then... THEN... she started singing a birthday song about us! She included our names, the reasons we were friends, all that stuff she was asking us about! This sweet lady was remarkable!! We could NOT have asked for a better birthday button presentation!! I only saw the chocolate dipped ones and those were not the ones I wanted :( We ended up getting English toffee for me and shortbread cookie for my ninja. English toffee square ($4.99): kinda expensive for .7 oz square, but hey, this is Disneyland. Not as good as almond roca or See's English toffee though. . How can a candy store within a hugely fun theme park not be good? LOL This was so, so good. I came for my favorite thing, the rocky road chocolate but they told me they did not have that :-( well I was sad for a minute, but I got another thing, the caramel apple covered with nuts! Looked tasty and huge! My husband got a square chocolate peanut butter thing, and my daughter got a vanilla cupcake. We took it to the hotel room to eat the next day. Well, they were all delicious! My apple was lovely, classic caramel and nuts, how can you go wrong? I did not get to taste my daughters cupcake because she ate it without sharing! LOL But my husband's peanut butter chocolate square thingie blew us all away! The peanut butter cream inside was like eating butter...peanut butter...butter.
