May be a tad biased. I'm "two degrees" of separation from the owner (although I've never met them). I've been to two Trophy locations in my last couple of trips to Raleigh and this location was definitely more enjoyable. It was a beautiful day outside, so they had the garage doors up which open up to a large patio area. Unfortunately, it was SO nice, that we were relegated inside. I had the Inside Joke to drink, a double IPA that is a collaboration with Trophy and Night Shift Brewing. I'm no professional, but definitely a very full flavor without being overpowered by hops. We also did a self-guided tour of the brewery (the perks of knowing someone that knows someone). All of the brewing tanks are named after Star Wars characters, hilarious. As a major Star Wars fan and minor Star Wars nerd, I really enjoyed that. I had a great time and look forward to checking out Trophy's future offerings. Today was my first time visiting this Trophy location. I was excited to try some new beers on St. Patrick's Day. I sat down at the bar and the bartender asked what we were interested in and I said I was interested in a flight. I immediately got this stare from the bartender and he quickly said "We are too busy for flights" and then totally walked away and started helping other customers. It quickly turned myself and my friend off from trying to order anything else. Another bartender eventually came over and asked what we would like. We got one beer and closed out. We were just really turned off by the first bartender's attitude. Not sure if I'll try that location again after the experience I had today. It's a shame because I like their beer. read more

Finally made it over to Trophy on Maywood. Nice atmosphere with plenty of seating indoors and outside. Obviously plenty of Trophy beers on tap. On this particular visit I had the triple Cloud Surfer, Double Death Spiral, and Roots of Glory (carrot marzen). All were good and I liked them in the order listed. They have the usual food truck available for hunger pains. They might have had some packaged snacks for a lighter food craving, but I can't remember for sure. There are a variety of packaged Trophy beers for take home consumption as well as shirts, glassware, etc. We happened to be there on a Saturday with some local vendors selling their wares. Mrs. B had some red wine and reported that it was good, but nothing mind blowing. Tyne enjoyed herself on the stairs outside and petting another patron's dog, but I would not rate them as overly kid friendly. Welcoming yes, but with supervision. If you want some Trophy beer, but aren't jonesing for the pizza, their Maywood location has you covered. read more

First review of the New Year goes to Trophy Brewing! Not to be mistaken for Trophy on Morgan st. this new taproom and brewery is serving up a lot more beer, they have 12 beers on tap here and now you can purchase kegs and growlers from this local favorite. They did a great job with the space and I'm hoping they will be hosting tours soon. There are a bunch of picnic tables outside and plenty of large tables inside. They will be having some food trucks soon and a restaurant will eventually be part of the plan. The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon filled with beer lovers, dogs, and a kid or two:) I love the location it's convenient and there is a parking lot and street parking available. I enjoyed my Slingshot beer and I know I'll be back soon to taste some of the other brews I've not had yet. It's all about the beer here so come on out and get a taste. read more

I was heckled by the bartender (Steven) to wear a mask for the second I was buying a drink, even with the massive garage door open right behind us. The mask mandate was lifted and I am fully vaccinated. However, he made me feel as if I was too DIRTY to breath the same air as him. He was very rude and disrespectful to me. Shortly after the brewery closed, all staff members were inside with the garage door shut MASKLESS hanging out. This establishment is hypocritical and very unprofessional. Went here last night for an election/debate event and was highly impressed by what I saw. The venue/location is awesome, despite the fact that it's a bit hidden away. It's enough space for a big or even small group with both inside and outside seating. Also Trophy's beer is great. I highly recommend the slingshot if you want a coffee infused porter. read more

This is the brewery location and they serve strictly beer vs the Morgan Street location that has a full kitchen. There were at least 12 beers on tap and you can see the beer tanks through the glass windows. It has more of an industrial feel and there are high-top tables and seats at the bar. The walls are painted black and the beer names are displayed in removable white plastic letters. There are also t-shirts and swag for sale. I like how the beer tap handles are made out of trophies and they play on words like "Trophy Wife". The prices of the pints are about $6 and it was a very nice taproom where people are encouraged to sit and talk. I noticed one tv but it was off. Outside there are rows of beer tables and benches and a few corn hole boards. Since this Trophy location does not serve food, there is usually a food truck outside. When we were there, it was the Wandering Moose truck. The beer was very fresh and straight from the source. The staff was friendly and kept those pints full. The location is super close to the Farmer's Market and S. Saunders street. Dogs are also allowed. read more

This is a common stop with my road cycling group. It's a great location near the greenway and Dix so it makes a perfect pit stop for snacks and beer. Often there's a delicious food truck and there's always delicious beer on tap. Had the refreshing trophy husband witbier in my last visit. They've got great community involvement too. I've seen this location the center for 5k after parties, German Shepherd rescue organizations, craft fairs, bike scavenger hunts, the Tour de Brew, and more. Trophy's newest addition has been great from the start, we tried this place out when they were just opened about a week and they were on their A game then and continue to do it right! This space allows Trophy to brew on a larger level than the Morgan St location. No food, but they often have a food truck, which who doesn't love a good food truck while enjoying tasty beverages? While the space inside is limited to bar seating and ~5 tables, they offer several tables outside (with heaters for the winter time). Their beer is quality, there service has always been good, they offer for you to try something before committing even when they are busy to ensure you enjoy your experience! The also starting taking on the Pop Up Shop Market where local vendors sells their goods once a month, its nice to stop by for a beer, walk around and see everything. read more

The beer is great, but the environment here could use some work. The day I went it was 90 degrees out and the management there thought it would be a good idea to open the giant garage door and leave us sweltering inside, with no A/C. I could not even finish my beer because I felt ill from the heat. Add to that the blaring music, and it made for a less than desirable experience. If you want a more relaxed feel, head over to either of the other two locations. read more

Trophy on Maywood is great! It is very convenient to our apartment, and they have many of their awesome selections on tap. We went on a Saturday when they had the market, and there was lots of cool local vendors to peruse. They also rotate in some food trucks for when you get hungry. Highly recommend! read more

Over the years I have come to change my opinion about Trophy. They serve great beer, of course. But more importantly, I have had 1-2 issues. Management has always been quick to address and resolve these issues. I greatly appreciate this - far too few companies actually care about their customers (imagine that!). But Trophy certainly does. Really love this new location. Parking is easy since they have their very own parking lot and lots of street parking out front. It is a great place to stop for a glass of their delicious beer... if you don't want to battle the crowds at their other location. The Milky Way stout is my favorite from their regular selection with a deep chocolate flavor and extremely smooth mouthfeel. Sean, the bartender, is by far one of the best bartenders that I've ever had the opportunity to meet. This place can get pretty busy on the weekends, but they do have outdoor seating with heaters for when it gets cold. The downside to this location is the location... definitely out of the way and not near anything else. Plus they don't serve pizza here... how sad. read more

Fun low key place! Trophy always has a great selection and it's awesome to have a brewery outside of directly downtown. Makes for an inexpensive uber ride. The atmosphere is good and when the weather is nice there is patio seating, food trucks on certain days. In the evenings it's usually not very crowded and an awesome place to avoid the crowds. Although I visited on Xmas eve eve, when things were quite slow, this is a clean, open, and quite airy tap room with a TV or two for hockey & sports. I had 2 IPAs: the Cloud Surfer & Gold School. Liked the former more than the latter but both were excellent. The night was warm so the garage door opened to a large patio with picnic tables & a food truck. I love Trophy Brewing! I've been going to State of Beer for a while and finally decided to venture out and give Trophy a try. I am so happy I did! Their beer is by far the best I've ever had in my life, and I am not a beer enthusiast by any means. The Trophy Wife cannot be beat. The atmosphere in Trophy is awesome, you can actually see the beer being brewed in the glass room in front of you behind the counter, which I thought was cool. They also have a food truck schedule throughout the week and I believe two food trucks come through on Saturdays. This place is awesome and very different! This is an awesome brewery in Raleigh that my fiancé and I had a chance to visit! The place is located in a more industrial area, so parking is pretty easy to find around there. The brewery was packed due to a craft fair event, so we worried we were no going to be able to get drinks quickly. The bartenders there were able to juggle a huge crowd and got our order quickly for a flight. The flights are already predetermined, so you cannot pick some of the specialty brews in your flights. The beers are very good though! The Slingshot Porter and Double Death Spiral DIPA were definitely the highlight beers for me! Lord Stanley is now my official favorite brew - and both times I've been here it's been a gorgeous day with gorgeous weather - making picnic table seating just perfect. Great choices and great service. I have been going about once a week for about a year now and have not been disappointed yet. They are super dog friendly, providing bowls and a water tap. Heaters on the outside of the building make it a great place to hang out in the fall. Rotating food trucks make coming for a quick dinner always interesting. Try the Trophy Husband and make sure to come out when they're having their weekend markets for some cool, handmade Raleigh goods. read more
