So I read great reviews and thought this would be a great place to grab a cocktail. I walked in and it looked like a great place. I was met by an attentive host. I explained that we were there for just a cocktail. We went to the bar area where there was a bar full of people and several high top tables. The bar was full so we assumed that the high tables were fair game (as they are in most places) since they are not part of the dinning room. So we sat at a two top table. The same host came over and said I will bring you menus. And I replied "oh sorry, we thought this was part of the bar" and his nasty reply was "no, that's why this is set for dinner". He whirled around on her heal and left. And very soon after so did we. No need for nasty attitudes. So I can't rate the drinks or the food. But the staff attitude was terrible. Food was good, the service was horrrrrrible. Went for breakfast, it was not even close to busy. We order food. About 20 minutes later our juice and coffee cups are empty, no one comes. After 45 minutes, we ask someone to please check on our order. They send our waiter over who proceeds to take our order for the second time, writing it down, for the second time, "to make sure the kitchen has it right" he says. We then watch him walk over to the computer and enter our order. For the first time. He never apologized for the wait, his mistake, or asked if we would like more drinks. 20 minutes after this (over an hour since we got there) the food comes. My friend had to get up and ask the bartender for some salt and pepper because the waiter never resurfaced with it. We get the check and see the waiter took the liberty of adding on 3 mimosas to our breakfast, even though we did not order even one. Again, no apology for the mistake, just an "oh, shit". read more

Loved the atmosphere at this local hangout and the food was great! We were staying at the Chandler Inn (which is connected to The Trophy Room) so we visited several times during our stay. The servers were friendly and while it is small, the doors and windows were open, which made it feel bigger. The place was nusy, but not "crowded". We came on a Tuesday night for a quick dinner close to our place. Started with the cauliflower "wings". Flavor was very good (buffalo!) but the breading was a bit heavy. However, I would order again. Boyfriend got the South End's Best Chicken. He really enjoyed it. I tried the "hash" it came with and it was delicious. I'd probably order it myself next time. I got the veggie flatbread. It was LOADED with veggies - a bit too much. The crust was nice and crispy and I enjoyed it overall, but didn't love it. Service - was fantastic. Came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night around 8:20-ish and it was already super busy, we didn't have a reservation so we had to wait a little bit but it was not a big deal. It got even busier throughout the night, particularly the bar area, so I would say reservation is a must if you want to dine in!! Everyone was so pleasantly nice from beginning to end, and our server was very friendly, knowledgable and entertaining! Food and drinks are moderately priced but portions could probably get a little better. Tastewise, their food was great. We had the atlantic salmon and chicken nachos, and my boyfriend keeps raving about how delicious the nachos were! The drinks are OK, but the nachos here are a huge rip off. We ordered vegetarian nachos, and you literally get 14 chips with white sauce and orange sauce squirted on them. Staying for 1 night at the chandler inn. Service was super slow even though there was probably 3 other tables and it was 7:30. I got a cup of the clam chowda. It was really good, as it should have been. I ordered the trophy burger and it was terrible. Chef or cook needs to understand temperatures of meat. Very basic, but very important. Fries were terrible, too much seasoning and I got a big glob of fried batter too. They treated me like they didn't give a crap that I was there by the service and food they gave me. I shouldn't of had to pay for anything but the soup and my drink since that's all I consumed but the bartender made me pay for everything i "ordered". I didn't order inedible garbage I tell him, and since I didn't like the food I am now a "bigot". If I actually lived in Boston I would pursue getting my money back but I live in NC and it was like $16. Give it to your cook, teach him how to cook meat read more

Went to the bar below my hotel for s beer before heading out to explore The Back Bay. I ended up staying for a few hours, having several beers, surprisingly good chicken nachos and a tasty burger. All served by an attentive bartender named Scott. As a special surprise, Scott is also the pastry chef so we tried a lemon meringue pie. It was a bit more like a tart, but was tasty. Beautiful evening with the doors open to let in a nice summer breeze. read more

I moved from San Francisco and was so thrilled to find such a great gay bar: The menu is full of delicious, upscale pub fare. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming. The servers are always quick, even when it's packed. I bring all of my friends from the bay here and I've made several new ones mingling with the crowd. Highly recommended. read more

The food was delicious, but the service is what made it really stand out. A great place to come for dinner or casual drinks. Stick to beer or basics. Visited with friends and was shocked at the cocktail prices. The $13 Manhattan was fine but the martini I ordered was overpriced and not great (premium vodka + St Germain upcharge + juice upcharge = $15.50). Service (Patrick) was very good and accommodating. We were so delighted to enjoy afternoon cocktails and apps at the Trophy Room! Our bartender Scott was great and offered us samples of a few beers we hadn't tried - one in particular - a watermelon beer - was a favorite! Scott garnished the beer with a watermelon candy which was fun and delicious! He made a great suggestion for an appetizer of cauliflower (buffalo chicken style) which we thoroughly enjoyed! Went here for brunch with three friends and all four of us were BLOWN AWAY! We each tried something different and everything was AMAZING. I had the french toast and it was absolutely delicious. The prices are relatively cheap for brunch but the quality is amazing. Aaron our server was super sweet and helpful! The servings were perfect and the atmosphere was perfect for brunch. I went to visit this place back in October. As this was my first brunch experience, I was not disappointed. I ordered French Toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage. All items were cooked well and the coffee and mimosas were on point. The waiter gave great service as well. I do hope to return here again. read more

I went looking for a typical sports bar-type place and figured something called "Trophy Room" would be a sports bar. I was wrong. But I'm really glad I was wrong. Everything about Trophy Room was spot on, from the modern decor to the friendly staff to the brunch-lunch combo menu. After perusing the menu, I ordered a three-egg omelette with bacon, sausage, onions and cheese. It was outstanding. The sausage had a little kick, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the portion size was outstanding. I finished off my meal with a cup of coffee, and it was brewed very well. Overall, I had an outstanding experience at Trophy Room. Oh, and they had a few TVs where I could watch college football as well. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out last night and we were not disappointed! Let me start off by saying it was the best overall experience we've had at a restaurant in Boston. I have celiacs and the wait staff and chef could not have been more accommodating! Not only was everything I got gluten free but it was also delicious! The chef came to visit our table throughout the night to make sure everything was perfect. I noticed this was also true for all the other tables in the restaurant. I had the burgers in the past and they were great with string fries but now they just serve regular fries and the burger was dry.

I arranged a family dinner at the Trophy Room on Friday December 19, 2014 for 22 people. I was looking for a cozy place within walking distance of the Boston Center for the Arts because we were going after the meal to see my son in a play. After I made the reservation, the chef called me to ask if we wanted to pre-order. I appreciated the personal service and agreed to send a pre order. It worked out very well. We arrived a little early but our area was already ready for us. We had drinks and then dinner was served. No waiting and the food was great! Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere - from my senior citizen parents to my college age nieces and nephews. And the service was top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant - a nice place to meet friends and linger awhile. We will be back. read more

I've been here a few times now and it's been a great experience every time. I love trophy room because not only are the food and drinks always good, but it's central location makes it an awesome jumping off point for a crazy night out, or an great destination for a more chill evening with friends or family.
