My friend hosted her birthday party here and it turned out to be a fun night. We had a reserved table for dinner, which I figured would be more intimate. But our table was in the main bar off to the side, so it was chaotic but fun. I do wish it was more private but it was still fun, just loud. Our waitress was really nice and did well with our large party. Their menu is mostly apps and smaller plates, so if you're looking more for a large meal this is not your spot. I got the nashville hot mozzarella sticks which were actually pretty good, I liked the tomato relish they put on top and the ranch was really good. Dive Bar Diva was my cocktail which was pretty good. My friends seemed to like their drinks and bar bites. After dinner we went upstairs to the club and got to skip the line (thankfully). The line for the club wraps around the building down the street most nights, so we got lucky. Dance floor is upstairs and it's pretty small, just one room. There were two DJs that night, and the music was really good. Bar was fun, they handed out free chicken tenders at one point and were squirting shots into peoples mouths out of gatorade bottles. It was awesome. Bathroom line upstairs for women was crazy, only one bathroom and it took a long line. I suggest going downstairs... but at least you'll see the famous cheetah print walls! I will say trying to get in contact with the reservation staff was difficult but finally they answered after days of my friends and I trying. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite before a show across the street at The Wang Theatre. Super fun place with high energy and good vibes. The staff was all upbeat and friendly. All of our good was excellent. The Birria Tacos were great and super full of meat. The Chopped Cheese Empanadas were very good and something different. The Smashburger was delicious. If you're looking for a fun spot in Boston make sure you stop in. read more

On the run dinner while around the corner hotel started with a few apps. The empanadas, multiple flavor wings and steak tips with tots. The entree was a double patty smash burger. The empanadas were absolutely awful and inedible. The wings were meh. The tips and tots were amazing and the smashburger stole the show! This was all to go so can only imagine fresh and hot. They were so good I marked this place down for anytime I'm in Boston. read more

Mediocre at best... I went because friends said 'let's try this place.' It was my turn to be 'the big shot' and buy snacks/dinner for the table. The apps were ok, drinks were mixed fine & I know it's my responsibility to review the check before committing to payment, but I was being rushed out the door to grab the Uber that one friend already called. In the car, I realized what had happened. The first two Jameson were not for my table and WHO CHARGES $2 PER GLASS FOR ICE?!?!?! I can understand that if someone walks in off the street and asks for a cup of ice, charge them, but I'm already overpaying for my 2oz of Jameson... Today after watching Connecticut College beat Emerson, we walked to where we parked our car which was across the street from Ghost Light Tavern. My husband was hungry and I wanted to watch The Celtics so we decided to go here and we're glad we did. There are at least 5 big TVs. The bartender was fantastic. Greeted us right away, got us menus & took our drink order. It's a spacious tavern and has a cool vibe and plays great music. My husband had their smash burger and I had their short rib tacos. Both were delicious. Their prices too are out of this world for Boston! $10 for the burger and $12 for the tacos. The bathrooms are large and clean, too. When we were leaving, the manager thanked us and told us to have a good night. I told him I am going to give this place a 5 star review! :) read more

The service was sub par and the DJ was terrible. Whoever was working on Saturday night at 11pm needs to fix their DJ game. The music was not cohesive and would ruin the vibe by cutting music too soon or remixing with questionable other music. They had QR codes for people to scan to avoid having to pay a cover to get in which is smart, but they only put up 3 QR codes and didn't advertise that option. It significantly slowed the entry point and caused the line to back up around the corner. Once inside the overall atmosphere was good. I met the owner, Mike, at the front door and he was super friendly and welcoming. The place has a great energy and you can tell they care about building something special here. I did come hoping to play pool since their Instagram shows pool tables, but they're in the process of getting them set up for public use. Still had a good experience overall and I'm excited to come back when the pool tables are live! read more

Hi, I have seen many fun and entertaining videos on TikTok and other platforms; and even experienced it at your establishment once myself. However, tonight was like no other. I was disrespected by one of your staff to the upmost degree in my lifetime. She "put us on the waitlist" for upstairs (that didn't update our placement for over an hour regardless of seeing people walk out and in). Then, when I approached and asked about what I thought was an error - she emphatically called me a loser. All I did was want to experience your upstairs venue one more time. I even bought a hotel near for the very experience. For the sake of privacy, I will not provide any contact information on this employee besides she was wearing a red top and black leggings. However, I will never return to your establishment again, nor will my party. read more

The line is just to attract attention. Arrived at 8:30 for an event that started at 9 and there was only a small line and barely anyone inside. We waited for an hour and a half before we were let in, the whole time we were in line it was almost completely empty inside. Once we got inside drinks were extremely overpriced more than Boston normal is and you could barely hear the music. Would never go again! read more

Great service. Noisy bar atmosphere, sat at a high top, no cosy booths, but food was quick, hot and tasty! And drinks quick and cold!

Food was good but BEWARE - they hosed us for $18 for a Maine Lunch draft beer - ouch!

Great vibe, fantastic service and decent food and drink. Ghost Light Tavern does a great impression of a dive bar that's been around forever despite having been open only a few months. I'm hoping the food improves with time. Chips and dip were too salty. My steak tips were perfectly cooked (rare) but a tad bland. The two drinks I had were very good. Particularly impressive was the espresso martini, which I asked that they make a little dryer than what you usually get with this drink, and the result was perfect and delicious. The prices are completely reasonable for a place that's located right across from the Wang Center. read more

If you are coming here for an event, or concert, I HIGHLY suggest you reconsider. We even RSVP'd to the tickets DAYS in advance.... I went with my friends this Saturday, to see Sammy Adams, for my sisters birthday, and it was a complete waste. Not only was my group never allowed upstairs to see the actual show, but the hostesses were extremely condescending, rude and honestly....mean. At 9:30, a half hour after the event started, we got there and were told to "wait for a text" from the hostesses saying we could go upstairs. After an hour passed, my sister went up to them and told them we had been waiting over an hour, to which they responded "nobody has been waiting that long", and continued to argue with her. I don't know if they thought she didn't know what was going on, but I certainly did. I was completely sober and witnessed their negative interactions several times from the beginning of the night. We waited until 12:30 pm before calling it a night, THREE HOURS of waiting and being told "we could no go upstairs" and that we definitely "were not waiting long". If anyone from the Ghost Light Tavern reads this, I would suggest looking into a staff change and reconsidering your organization system for events. The bar was gorgeous, upbeat and fun! The bar tenders made the experience amazing and curated an amazing atmosphere....unfortunately, this was overshadowed by the other coworkers attitudes, and never being allowed upstairs. Highly disappointing and upsetting, especially when celebrating a birthday. Please look into fixing this. Will more than likely not be returning. read more

one of the bartenders that has a jacked up bob haircut charged me for a drink I DID NOT order and tried to convince me that I did. She came off very strong, which very understandable at a bar with a bunch of drunk people. However, I was completely sober and these were my first drinks of the night. She didn't accommodate by just making me another drink, instead left me with the drink I didn't ask for. Music was trash, awkward frat boys all over the spot, 0 fine shyts.
