Warning warning hard sell on warranty. No customer service after purchase. Paid More than $400 to tag/register daughter's used car because they promised to reimburse for overage. Guess again. Received check for $26 when DMV website reports charge as about $280. Dealership apparently forgot to actually register vehicle until I called at the eleventh hour. There was no one in entire dealership to speak with me. Even Ford Corp. customer service could not get a manager on the phone. Finally, at 4:30pm the salesman reports the license and registration are at the dealership when they were supposed to be mailed to my home. It's all about getting as much money as possible. After purchasing my vehicle here the customer service quickly took a dive. I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and auto butler appointment, after 4 hours of not hearing from them I called and was informed my car's service wasn't started, 5 minutes later I was called and they stated they were almost done. I wish I could give zero stars. I am interested in trading in my Jeep for a mustang and went to test drive the mustang. I was interested in buying the same day but did not inform the salesman of that Incase they did not have what I was looking for, I did not want to be pressured into something I did not want. They would not allow me to test drive the car because they did not want me putting miles on it. They wanted me to do paperwork first before I could even test drive. Ripped off again. My heat would not work on the right side of my Mustang so I brought it in even though I swore I would not use this dealer again. The only reason I did is because back in January I had the same problem which was never fixed. I drop the car off and get a call stating that the evaporator case needs to be replaced as it is binding and not letting the blend door close all the way. I went to the dealer to verify this. The shaft and gear were moving fine and not binding at all. I asked if they tested the actuator in the car to confirm if that part was defective. No reply they wanted to charge me my warranty deductible and I called them out on it since it is a huge job and the warranty time pays quite a bit to replace the case. The Srvc. Mgr. Gaylon was there and when I brought it up as well as misdiagnosing my other concerns in January he decided to refuse working on my car. I was good with that since their tech's seem to not diagnose anything and just want to throw parts at a car thinking/hoping it cures the problem. While the car was at the shop I noticed that there were some scratches on the right fender which was exactly where the tech took off parts from under the hood. Gaylon stated they didn't do it and they are not going to do anything about it either. I have photos of my from the day before and there are no scratches there. They are very fresh if they were old they would not be shiny or have grime in them. I am in this line of work and a certified tech in mechanic and body. If the shop would have used fender covers like all the other shops the scratches would not have happened. I am in the process of contacting Ford lodging complaints with them as well as speaking with an attorney in regards to the damages they caused to my vehicle. I would say run don't walk as fast as you can from this dealer!! read more

Took my car to get it repaired. They barely examined it and tried telling me I needed more parts than needed. Took my car elsewhere to get it reevaluated to see if I could get a cheaper deal and was told I didnt need one of the more expensive parts replaced that i was told and got it fixed for cheaper. Went to the body shop to get the mirrors tightened on the car I bought there. Was given an estimate of over $100. Took the car home without them doing any work, found the bolt that holds the mirrors on. And within 10 minutes I had both mirrors tightened. read more

This is the most unprofessional company I have ever done business with. My 2019 Ford escape completely died in the middle of the highway. I had to get my car towed here and they said they would fix it. I have a full bumper to bumper warranty on my car that I paid extra money to have and this warranty also covers a rental car. When I picked my car up they said that I tripped some kind of "switch" that I didn't even know existed and tried to charge me $125 to fix it. I explained to him that I had this warranty and that I was not going to pay. He waived the fee. I left the dealership. The next day I get a charge on my credit card for the full price of the rental car...which SHOULD have been included. When I called Hertz to dispute this charge I was told that the manager of Tropical Ford went over there and told her that I was a "problem" customer and to charge me as much as she could charge me. This is completely out of line and unprofessional. I will NEVER bring my car to this dealership and if anyone HAS a full bumper to bumper warranty that they paid an excessive amount of money for thinking that this dealership will honor it...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!! I called and inquired about a vehicle that my boyfriend was in the process of negotiating over at another dealership. When Eva told me over the phone the price I told her I wasn't interested as it was thousands more than we were going to pay at the other place. She asked the numbers and what we were getting for our trade-in and said the numbers sounded very doable. My boyfriend stopped signing at the place he was at and came to this dealership (its a lot closer to home so service would be easier). The management (DAVID) would barely budge on the MSRP, said Eva didn't even have the knowledge or ability to give us the information she did and that her job is to "get people in the door". They wouldn't even match the trade-in. We told them no and left. I highly recommend going anywhere else. He worked with me for 3 hours while he, Gary Burton and the sales manager Jack Grace all worked together to get me into my dream car (2015 Ford Escape) and get me approved for an incredible financing deal. Seriously, thought I was dreaming. Stuff like this doesn't happen for me often and they made me feel really special and valuable. The best thing is I never felt pressured and the car is awesome! Visited the service department and was told I needed to change parts that wasn't broken and where they wanted to charge me $3500 for things that were not wrong with the truck. I took the truck out to another shop and confirmed the parts were way over price and also not needed. Called the parts department a separate time about getting a key made and the guy at the counter had no idea what I needed. read more

The customer service at the "service" center is horrible. I called to make an appointment for an oil change, the lady told me it's "first come first serve". I get there and they tell me it's going to be 3 hours and that I should have made an appointment...seriously? Not only did they put the wrong oil in my truck, they let a ton of air out of my tires during the rotation...is this real life? First off I would like to say, my husband and I was raised in California, lived a decade in las Vegas, just moved to orlando for almost a year, our first dealership was tropical Ford, we received one hello when we walked in, our salesman nestor didnt know any specifics on the truck, he said I Dnt know about 5 Times during the test drive, although he was nice guy, it seemed like every one was just in it for the sale, we Dnt have enough words for the finance mgr, Jack, he had nerve to even say he was the mgr of the whole place, because I wanted to complain about his arrogance, no eye contact, was rude to my husband and told him he might as well keep his truck, because it's not worth a thing! Really Jack?!, we got 1,000$ for it, at mcj auto. They were a small but honest dealership, excellent customer service!, we got a nicer truck less mileage and Eddie Bauer ! Jack said, with my husbands credit 13%!, his words and demeanor were just very disrespectful, we got 7% deal at mcj! They said his credit wasn't too bad!, Jack has no customer service skills, he almost made u feel that u needed to beg him and act like your borrowing financing through him, bad power trip, come to find out the real branch mgr called my husband!, this guy said he aS in charge of the whole place when I asked him, bad for business!, stay away from this place, cannote be trusted. Hood on our 2012 explorer started chipping. We called and they said to come by and take photos to submit to ford for warranty. Took the car by the auto body shop at tropical ford. We were pleasantly greeted by Don one of the managers. He was extremely nice and professional told us about the process took some photos and said he would be in touch. About a week later he called and said that we would be getting a new hood for the vehicle and we needed to schedule a one hour appt for install. My husband brought it in for the appointment and was again greeted by Don. He said the car would be about an hour and showed my husband where a nicer are with wifi and TV was to wait. Don said he would pull the car around front when ready. He brought the car up freshly washed! My husband was thrilled. Exceptional customer service. Hands down one of the best experiences at a dealership or any auto body shop for that matter!!! read more

Worthless service, they will take advantage of your lack of mechanic lingo or terms. I brought my vehicle for a dead battery, and I walked away nearly 3 weeks later with a $1,400 dollar bill, all for a battery issue that it took them nearly 3 weeks to resolve. In the initial visit, I spoke with their service rep about my vehicle and just want it running, do whatever tests and maintenance to ensure it was just an old battery that was the issue and not something wrong with my car. The bill for that visit was shy of $600 dollars. The vehicle was DISABLED ON THE SPOT when I went to pick it up after paying my bill. Their technicians ran a voltage test and said it was a faulty battery so I thought I just got bad luck. Not even ONE WEEK later after bringing the vehicle home, the vehicle was disabled again. Mind you $600 dollars after directing them to check/test/whatever to my vehicle to make sure this doesn't happen again. Took the vehicle back in and by this time, the vehicle has been with them for 4-5 days combined. After bringing in my vehicle the second time, they again blamed a faulty battery and claimed they ran an array of tests on it and did not return with any results. I picked up my vehicle for the second time free of charge due to battery warranty. TWO DAYS later, my vehicle is DISABLED AGAIN. This THIRD time, they ran more tests on it and over the weekend blamed it on the radio draining the battery. The bill for this 3RD time was shy of $800 dollars. They said the initial bill did not have anything to do with checking for electrical issues even though that was the main reason for the visit. They charged me $400 dollars in labor for a job that other repair shops I called said would be 1-2 hours. The part was $338. After trying to reason with them that the initial bill I paid them for was to identify the issue they denied doing ANY TESTING WHAT SO EVER even though that was the main reason for the visit. I told the lady that because of their incompetence to perform their jobs, I missed 4-5 medical Veterans Affairs appointments at which point she says "I'm not listening to this anymore" and turns around while their "cashier" was pretty much laughing during this whole ordeal. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR FORD VEHICLE DO NOT BRING IT TO THIS DEALERSHIP. [$1,400 bill, battery problem, 2-3 weeks to fix] DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I recently went on vacation to Orlando last week. While I was there the check engine light in my car came on. I knew I needed to get it fixed because I would soon be driving back to Savannah, Georgia. I was worried about going to this Ford because they had terrible reviews, but they were the closest one to where I was. I gave them a chance and don't regret it at all! When I walked in I told them my check engine light was on, I needed my car to be fixed so I could drive home and it was the last day of my vacation so I needed it fixed quickly. I told them I had already gone to autozone to have the cause of the light diagnosed. It was a faulty valve in my car. Which is a 2015 so I was still under warranty. They brought my car back to the shop RIGHT AWAY. They had to let it cool before they could repair it, but had it fixed completely within two hours! They even filled up my washer fluid, which I had requested. There was no charge for the washer fluid or the car wash, even though I usually have to pay for the fluid with my oil change! They were fast, efficient and got my car back up and running in no time!!! I was so relieved they didn't live up to all of their bad reviews, but exceeded my expectations! Whatever was causing all of these bad reviews, maybe they have improved and changed because my experience was great! Everyone was SO friendly and helpful. So apparently an appointment for the service department here means an appointment to talk to a representative. Then you have to wait, according to him, another two hours at the very least for them to get it in to assess the problem. Followed by which, who knows how long you will be here. So when asked about a loaner car, I am told he can call Enterprise for me but they have no loaners or a courtesy shuttle to take you somewhere while you have to wait. After 40 minutes of waiting for Enterprise to arrive, another employee says they do have a shuttle and can take me there. This is the first dealership in my 28 years of driving that did this. I came to this dealership on my birthday and requested to see a lifted F-150 and the sales person was nice and showed it to me - he went through many of the features on the vehicle and possessed excellent knowledge of the vehicle but his manager was an asshole. The manager wouldn't allow me to test drive the vehicle unless we sat down and ran credit and discussed numbers. I explained to the salesman that I had just driven a lifted Chevy Silverado and didn't like it and wanted to compare the difference in the ride but the manager wouldn't budge. Why the hell would I sit and talk numbers on a vehicle I haven't driven and decided that I like it? Poor customer service and lost a potential sale. I will start by stating that my car buying experience with Tropical Ford in Orlando, is by far the worst encounter I have ever been involved with in my 60 years of buying and selling cars. My daughter (Stacey Brewster) and I started looking for a Ford Explorer Limited several months ago, and have visited several dealerships and internet websites. Stacey found one at Tropical Ford in Orlando and brought it to my attention. I looked at the website on 11/23/2016 saw a substantial reduction in price which included a dealer discount and 4 other discounts from Ford.  I told Stacey to call and verify that the Vehicle was in fact still there and that all the discounts were valid. Stacey called and talked with the internet rep, Neesha, and ask her to check to make sure the SUV was still there and also to determine if all the discounts listed on the website were correct.  Approx. two hours later Neesha called back and said the Explorer was still there and all the discounts listed on the website were valid. Stacey said ok we are coming up from West Palm Beach, and told Neesha that it would take us three hours and wanted to make sure or we would be very upset if we drove up and the price was not correct. Again Neesha said there was no problem and would meets with us at 5PM.  We arrived at Tropical at 5PM and Vitali greeted us and took us inside to meet Neesha. Neesha immediately turn us over to Vitali and left!  Vitali was very cordial and went to get the Explorer for a test drive. We explained to Vitali that we just drove 3 hours and would have to make the 3 hour drive back home later so please make the test drive quick.  Vitali then took us out into a massive traffic jam and it took us 1 hour to go around the block. Very bad start, worst test drive experience ever. We finally set down with Vitali who writes up a price that is $5,000 more than the internet price. Stacey says wait that cannot be correct here is a copy of the internet price which she had verified with Neesha. Vitali looks at it like he had no knowledge of this price and goes over to talk with the Manager on duty, who turns out to be Jeremy.  After a few minutes Vitali and Jeremy come back over to present another offer which is still $3,000 more than the Tropical Ford internet price. Jeremy starts making excuses about the site and basically states that they will not honor that price. At this point I point out the fact that not only is the site published record, but that Stacey took the time to talk with Neesha, who to a Tropical Ford employee, who verified to Stacey  that all the discounts listed there were valid.  Jeremy said all that did not matter and again said he would not honor that price. At this point we are both very upset, felt that we had been lied to, I tell Jeremy that and we get up and walk out.  We get in our SUV to leave and begin to discuss what we have just experienced.  Stacey is very emotional since she has been searching for this particular Ford Explorer Limited for at least 6 months, and it is slipping away.  After talking for a while Stacey decides to go back in and clarify a couple of the numbers. Vitali greets us again and apologizes for the long test drive and the misunderstanding.  After revisiting the numbers Stacey still feels we have been cheated, really hates to give this dealer the sale but wants the truck. Stacey ultimately buys the truck, does the paperwork, gets the loan and we finally leave the dealership at 8PM for the 3 hour drive home after a very emotional 3 hours. We are very loyal Ford owners. Within our family we currently have 3 Expeditions and 2 Explorers. Ford make a great product, but it is extremely troubling to encounter this level of dishonesty at a Ford dealer. We feel this represents false advertising and should not be tolerated. I would definitely stay away from this dealership! read more

Auto Butler service was not applied the right way and now am in the process of waiting (over 3 weeks) to have a rep from Auto Butler contact me to fix my bumper, which probably translates to repainting my 6 month old car's bumper! This place has gone down hill dramatically since they opened in the 1980s. I remember one time in the early 1990s, I went there in search of a part for my Ford van. The parts staff was so nice. They did not have what I needed in stock, but they had one out of the box, so the lady working the parts counter just gave it to me because she could not sell it out of the box. I never forgot that personal service. Today, I went shopping for a new truck. Unlike other dealerships, where they greet you at the door and ask you if you want a cup of coffee, I wandered around the showroom for 2 or 3 minutes before someone waited on me. His name was Camacho. Right away the high pressure sales tactics started. When he realized that I was shopping and wasn't going to buy today. He gave me the MSRP price and sales tax and tried to shuffle me out the door as quickly as possible. I told him that I wanted to take a test drive and have an offer written up with incentives and an OTD price, but he told me that his bosses don't want him to do that when they have customers waiting that are going to buy today. He told me they had "four deals working". I then told him that I couldn't believe I was being treated in this manner. He then told me, "look I agree with you, but that's how the people I work for want me to do it. If you're not going to buy today, and they are working deals on people who are going to buy today, then they don't have time to fool with you." He then shared with me that he was looking for other employment. I sincerely hope he finds it. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences! The incident stemmed from a repair on my wife's Ford Focus transmission which was covered by insurance. The amount I needed to pay was what the insurance did not cover which was a fraction of the total cost plus tax. Instead they included the total tax for the entire invoice for my payment which increased by bill by $131. After leaving Tropical Ford I discovered the error at a stop light while reviewing the bill. I returned to Tropical Ford where they could not provide the refund in cash (which is how I paid) and the Fixed Operations Director gave me a check written to my wife and I. My wife's name was spelt wrong which I pointed out to the Director immediately. He responded with "It does not matter as either one of you could cash it". The following day I left work early to cash the check at Wells Fargo where neither of use had an account. The bank rep could not cash the check as they needed both of us to be present and/or have a joint account with the bank. I returned to Tropical Ford upset as I initially mentioned to the Director that this would not work at the bank. I explained the situation with the cashier and demanded cash instead of another check because my inconvenience. She explained that to the Director who come out from the back to meet me. When the Director approached me from the back office with the check (with both of our names), his first words were "Sir, you did not endorse the check in the back so that's why they did not cash it". At that time I was calm but even more frustrated as his attitude indicated that I was incompetent (to say the least). No greeting, no apology just these first words even after the cashier explained the issue to him. The same one who told me that they would cash the check with either of us present even after I pointed out the error before I left Tropical Ford with the check. Imagine my frustrations at that point. I told him that this was not the reason the check was not cashed and then asked for cash which he then said "I will be back" leaving me standing in the hallway by the cashier. On his return from wherever he went to, after leaving me in the hallway by the cashier, he handed me a check with my name which I responded with "I told you that I wanted cash!" I mentioned that I have been inconvenienced enough and don't wish to go back to the bank which is currently closed (at 5pm). He said " I cannot do that right now" which I asked to speak to the person who signed off on the check. The Director brought me to the receptionist, handed her the check, and asked he to call the Manager to speak to the customer with no explanation whatsoever. Does this sound like someone who wants to assist? At this point his attitude is sarcastic, insulting and disrespectful to which he threaten to call Orange County Police twice because I mentioned that the current cashier has cash to pay me my $131. I wrote a review on their site where the CFO responded with this email excerpt " All people are people and we do and say things at different times when our stress level is high. I do not know what you were going through on that day.... " Clearly, this CFO does not understand customer service, I mentioned in my reply that it is not about the money but the lack of customer appreciation, my inconvenience and initial attitude of the Director. My grandson, 19 years old, had his drivers license 2 days, went into Tropical Ford of Orlando with my husband and I to purchase a car. We were treated pretty good, had a salesman that had only worked there 3 weeks so we had to understand him not having any product knowledge and had to bring another salesman and a manager to us to answer questions regarding financing and the purchase of the car. All agreed he would like to see the car. Tropical Ford did not have that model on the lot but agreed to bring it in the next day. They advised us that a REFUNDABLE deposit of $1,000 and he could come the next day to view and test drive, if he didn't want to purchase, he would get his deposit returned. The salesman and the manager told us twice, "Of coarse the deposit is refundable", and gave my grandson a receipt and shook our hand. The next day, we visited another dealership to find out that the price quoted at Tropical Ford was a few thousand dollars higher, he decided to ask for a refund from Tropical. They told us to come and pick up the refundable deposit check, we went there but was told the check wasn't ready to come the next day. We called the finance manager Jack to inquire when we could come over and he wouldn't pick up the phone, the girl that answers the phone told my grandson Jack said the $1,000. deposit was "Non Refundable". At that point, his grandfather and I took him to the dealership and was told by the Manager Jeremy that they had to bring the car over to their lot and therefore since he wasn't buying the car after all there was no refund. The salesman, David who wrote the contract looked at us in the eye and told us he never told us refundable, bare faced lied when he told us twice. I finally had to step in and ask Jeremy if he had children and how would he feel if this was done to them, he should do the right thing and return his money, this was an inheritance from his Dad who died in a terrible accident and how could he sleep doing this to him. Jeremy told us we had two choices, one he would have to terminate the salesman David and pay all the expenses to acquire the car on their lot, locally. I asked him not to fire David, he obviously wasn't trained properly and that was management's fault, and how much did it cost him to bring the car in. He advised off the top of his head, not looking at papers, well.....$100. had to pay his employee to get it. We agreed for them to keep the $100. and return $900.00. It took all of 5 minutes to get him the check. How can this dealership still be in business with the way they treat people, and after reading some of the reviews (which I should have looked prior), but we felt they had been in the Orlando area for so many years they were reputable.....BIG MISTAKE. Don't ever go there and buy anything, they will rip you off any way they can. How do they sleep at night knowing they took $100. from a kid when all deposits are refundable unless noted on the receipt. R.R. read more

Bad ford dealership just you gave a bad review , they band you to bring your car there to fix

Absolutely the worst experience Ive ever had with a dealership, and I used to be a car salesman myself. The first salesman would not even try to help me and I did not feel as if I was being taken serious. I then approached the sales manager to get some help. He told me due to their store policy I would not be able to test drive the vehicle I was interested in unless I sit down and work out a deal... Ridiculous... Why even waste my time if I didnt end up liking the vehicle. Truly I had never driven a ecoboost mustang before. Still I sat down and worked a deal with the manager. At the end of the deal I wasnt even allowed to test drive the vehicle unless I agreed to a number on the car. WHY WOULD I EVEN AGREE TO ANYTHING IF I NEVER GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO DRIVE THE CAR!?!?! Whoever came up with your test drive policy should really rethink it. When I was a car salesman, we were told that everyone was to test drive a vehicle even if they said they were going to buy a car or not... THATS HOW YOU GET PEOPLE TO FALL IN LOVE AND BUY! Needless to say I went elsewhere where someone actually wanted to sell me a car and make themselves some money. read more

BEWARE OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT We were in the market to add another vehicle to our painting company fleet. We found a used Ford E250 in Orlando from a private owner. I called Tropical Ford which was the closest dealer to the gentleman who owned the truck. I spoke with Steve , a service rep asked him if they would inspect vehicle. He said yes, I'll be here on Saturday I'll make sure I take care of you. We drove down from Ocala on Saturday, met with the gentleman selling the vehicle, took it for a test drive... DROVE GREAT ! Tropical Ford put it on the lift said give us about an hour, we will let you know if we find anything wrong. After the first hour, Steve said their were some issues, showed us the list gave us a price and said it will not be any more than this. We purchase the vehicle from the private owner. After that happened, Steve says how the vehicle is NOT safe to drive back to Ocala and a $2500.00 fix went to a $4300.00 fix. We have NO CHOICE as it is now Saturday afternoon almost closing time, we leave the vehicle to be fixed with what we discussed and have on paper with Steve being promised it will be ready one week from then. Friday morning I decide to call Steve to confirm pick up for Saturday morning as discussed. He informs me that their were additional items they found and they fixed.... But their is an additional LARGE CHARGE. I asked to speak with the Service Manager (Gaylin). He said that additional items were fixed. I said who authorized that, I NEVER GOT A PHONE CALL ON ALL THE SUPPOSED EXTRA PARTS IT NEEDED AND TO TOP IT OFF THEY TOOK OFF PARTS THAT THEY DIDNT THINK THAT WAS THAT IMPORTANT ( front suspension, ball bearing etc) . Gaylin said Steve was suppose to call you and inform you of all the extra charges. I said he did not. Gaylin says " Shame on him". I say that's how you handle this, if this was my employee he would be fired on the spot. Gaylin said I'll do those items for half off and I promise it will run like a gem and be done Satirday afternoon. He called Saturday af 1:30 to let us know it was done they test drove it and everything runs perfect. I asked will you be there when we pick up. He said defiantly. We arrived and Gaylin just had left for the day we were told and to our disbelief Steve the service rep was there. We left with the truck got 18 miles on the highway and it overheated and we were stuck. I called to let them know, and of course no one could help. We towed the vehicle 77 miles back to ocala . I left Gaylin the Service manager a message Saturday. Today is Monday evening, still no phone call back. I also left a message for Brian , Galin's boss and Mr. Massey the owner. Obviously they got our money so they could care less that they did shady work, lie and deceive people. NO ONE SHOULD EVER GET VEHICHLES SERVICED OR BUY A VEHICLE HERE. MAYBEE THEN THE OWNER WOULD WAKE UP AND RESTAFF HIS EMPLOYEES WITH HONEST PEOPLE. read more
