He made suggestions for sides we hadn't tried before and I'm so glad we listened to him. We gave the sweet potato a shot and it was so good and in line with my strict nutrition plan. As we ordered he was not only patient but also knowledgeable and confident about the ingredients of the entrees and nutrition values, which meant a lot to us. First experience tonight here in Texas. These were all over NC and I'm so glad this one opened near me. From walking in customer service and acknowledgement were leaps and bounds above Smoothie King could ever be. When looking at ingredients a lot of smoothies have banana but the staff member was super kind and helpful with substitutions since I'm allergic. The kicker? I am a self-confessed smoothie groupie. I LOVE SMOOTHIES. I've been to many places for smoothies because, let's face it; it's harder than you think to find awesome smoothies. There's some places that can conjure up a blissful melange of fresh ingredients and dazzle your tastebuds, and other places serve runny fruit drinks that barely pass as something more than a slightly thicker juice. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is in the former of those groups. First, I'll get right to the good stuff. The smoothies here are great! The items I've had thus far are composed well and have complex and exciting tastes that are different. My two favorites are the Chia Banana Boost (OMG- tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch) with Peanut Butter, and the Avocolada. They are rich in flavor and equally important is the consistency. They are always served very cold and the thickness is perfect! These qualities are important to me because I have been to far too many smoothie joints to have seen some atrociously runny concoctions pass as smoothies. I've been to this location 10+ times before writing this and I have been super-pleased with the consistency of my smoothie every time! How about the service? Yes- let's talk service here because it's important. I've had nothing but positive interactions with the employees! They have all been really pleasant and nice. But, something I should mention to manage expectations. It can get busy at times and whether that be a flood of actual people in the store or them fulfilling orders placed online- there may be a wait. Do not expect on most occasions to walk-in, place an order and be out in 2 minutes. There may be other orders in the queue before you, and you may have to wait. So knowing that, give yourself enough time to account for that possibility. There is a Tropical Smoothie Cafe App- I highly recommended it. You can order ahead and you can also earn points towards discounted items. Now, I cannot believe I have made it this far without mentioning this, but Tropical Smoothie Cafe also serves food which I have not tried yet. They offer an array of flatbreads, quesadillas and other hand-held sandwich devices that change with the season and have a creative flair (think Green Goddess and Caribbean Jerk Chicken) - these all sound so appetizing and at some point I'm sure I'll try them, but for now my review is based solely on my smoothie experiences. Last, I want to applaud this Tropical Smoothie Cafe location for taking COVID precautions seriously. You must wear a mask inside the establishment and the indoor dining tables have been suspended. BRAVO for taking the health and safety of the public and your employees seriously! I appreciate seeing these very common sense measures being taken to mitigate the spread of COVID and thank you for putting my mind at ease when I go here. The Greenville Avenue location is so much better than another TSC that is closer to my home, but I have a much different perception of that other location because of the inconsistent hours of operation that differ from hours posted and the lack of mask wearing. In contrast, I am so glad that this location is doing business the right way, and honestly, I choose this location over the closer one because these things matter to me and I want to support businesses that offer great products, service and experiences. I am utterly disgusted at the customer service here. I will no longer be a tropical smoothie customer after today. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and craving tropical smoothie. I have been a customer since 2016 I always speak highly of them. Never again. Today I came in for a Bahama mama and a turkey bacon ranch sandwich. The employees weren't busy at all and looked so unamused that I walked in. I ordered my food and politely sat down. I went out to my car to eat my food. After the second bite of my sandwich I felt something hard just thinking oh the bacons fried too hard. Just to find out that it is a whole bread clip in my sandwich. I mean how careless do you have to be to just not see a whole bread clip right on the sandwich your preparing. I stepped out of my vehicle to go see the manager, he was not sympathetic and careless to my concerns for my child. Who knows what else was in the sandwich that I could've eaten. He looked at me and said with no remorse in his tone for such a bad experience as a pregnant woman. Do you want it remade? Are you freaking kidding me do you think I would trust the same person to make my sandwich again. I think not. I refused and calmly asked for a refund despite being livid with this customer service. I just sat in my car and cried as I looked for numbers to customer service. This may have just been a true mistake but it cost me great anxiety and stress. I received a call from the locations manager 30 mins later in which she apologized for the whole experience. She took the time to explain to me about how her team felt really bad and initially was very shocked and unprepared for such a situation. She went on to explain how scared they were because I was pregnant and trying to figure out how they made such a big mistake. If I had received just the small amount of the concern that she showed on the phone in that restaurant I would have given them another chance. However, unless she is present at the location with her team I will not be returning. Carry is the only thing saving this location. If I choose to return I'll be sure to update my review. However, as of right now my anxiety is extremely high and I cannot fathom putting my child at risk. read more

I bit into one and ate meat which I have not consumed in 6 years. My receipt was right but the items were not - I know my being vegan is a 'choice' but for a lot of people the cheese being present can cause severe allergy. I was running errands, in and out of places. I decided to grab a bite to eat here. Being lunch time...I decided to download app, register, order and pick up. At one of my stops I used the app and ordered. I picked the location nearest to me (I thought) and went to pick it up. I waited inside and a nice attendant at the location asked if I was waiting for an order. I said I was and offered my name. She unfortunately gave me the bad news that she saw no such online order. Thinking it was strange...I looked in on the app. Even though I knew which restaurant I wanted to go to, I had been there before several times, somehow I clicked the Greenville Avenue location, the wrong location. I let the person know it was my mistake, I wanted to cancel the Greenville order and order with her at her location. She said she wouldn't be able to help me with a refund but could order the same items with her. I did and I waited. While waiting she said I should reach out to this Greenville location. I did and spoke to someone not the friendliest and definitely not able or not interested in offering me a refund on the order I tried to cancel. They offered I call the corporate phone number. In disbelief at the complexity I did call. The call took 15 mins and I provided all the relevant information. That included my personal details and also the timing, the order number, etc. after this was complete I was told that the matter would elevated to the appropriate party within the company. Again I was baffled with the over the top needless complexity in asking for a refund on an $11 meal. Well, now 5 days later...nothing. I have not received any email or call regarding the matter. At this point, I know it is only $11, but it's the principle. Yes, I know I made the mistake in ordering, but I did all I could to cancel, inform, explain...and to get nothing back in return is just not cool. I don't know how else to put it. Customer service, care...communication at least...that would have made the experience better. I will not be going back to any of their locations. There are too many great restaurants out there that in this day and age would love to have the business of a regular customer. UPDATE: Thank you T Smoothie for responding. As I mentioned in my review...all my details WERE shared with corporate over a 20 minute phone call. I outlined the story to the customer service person on the 800 number. She was nice. I shared my name, address, phone number, time, and receipt number. I was told it was being escalated to the proper department. That was over a week ago. When Uber driver delivered it there were no Smoothies I called the store and was told that I'd have to just call another Uber driver which would be another 30 to 40 minutes if I wanted my smoothies. If I could give 0 stars I most certainly would. We recently went to this location to get a smoothie. I am a first responder that workers for Baylor. We received a list of locations that were offering specials to first responders due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The list had this location on the list that's was giving free smoothies to first responders. The workers there were very unfriendly and when asked about the free smoothie that they were offering to all first responders we where told no there were not doing this even when we showed them the list they were on and that it was ongoing.
