My first visit ever to a Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Went in on the recommendation of a friend that I try the 'Immune Blast' smoothie to help out with this blasted cold virus I've been fighting. Ordered the smoothie - light on the sugar as instructed. As far as I can tell it has oranges and bananas and Vitamin C and who knows what else? The smoothie certainly was tasty and refreshing! You may not want to order from this place after a certain time. I came here last week in the evening, after 7pm. I ordered 2 chicken Chipotle club sandwiches n 2 smoothies. The sandwiches were disgusting. They had so much Chipotle sauce on them n the bacon was so oily that I threw them both in the garbage. The quality of food has really gone downhill at this particular location and the manager can't be bothered to return a phone call or make things right when an order is messed up. I received a basically empty sandwich with my last order. I didn't receive any of the extra ingredients that I paid for and the turkey sandwich had zero turkey in it. It was unbelievable to me that someone could make a sandwich that was basically just two pieces of bread and a sprinkling of shredded lettuce and charge me almost $11 for it. I called the restaurant about it and was told the manager would call me back with his decision and it's been 3 days. Not overpowering, the nutty banana is the main ingredient you'll savor the most. Subtle notes of ginger, pineapple and kale can also be tasted. Southwestern Wrap: When getting a wrap, my must-haves: Spinach/Egg/Cheese; grilled chicken is the added protein bonus. The pepper jack cheese was stringy, but in a wonderful way. I do enjoy fruit smoothies throughout the year. I am rating a fair middle as they are good, but a bit more expensive than most other chains $4.79 for a 22oz (I believe). Service is a bit unprofessional, I really do not need a charity request to go beyond the first NO, and the chattiness of the guy at the counter led to long lines. They do have all the basic ingredients, but I am betting with the gritty texture, their may be a bit of ice in there. With the making's going on behind a windowed counter behind the front counter, you really can not see what is going in. Good/ fair product at a higher price marred by service- 3 stars I can only imagine people giving this 5 stars because they have never been to a classic west coast Smoothie bar and received Starbucks caliber service at one. read more

They messed up my order. Bunch of teenagers who work there. They totally give you a small amount of meat on your sandwiches. In my situation barely any meat on it and the whole time the manager was in the back laughing at me and embarrassed me for when I asked about why there was a small amount of meat for something I paid $8 bucks for!!! Why go there, when you can go to Wegmans and make yourself a wonderful clean fresh sandwich!!! Horrible manager, horrible service and horrible food!!! This little shop is tucked into the back of the Wegmans plaza. It doesn't get the traffic it deserves. Delicious smoothies, great "boosts." The staff is friendly and easily adapted my order to my special request several times. (I've asked for no sugar and for 1/2 sugar b/c I don't like artificial sweetener.) The food looks fresh and delicious but I haven't tried it yet. The owners are often behind the counter when I go; ask them sometime about why they opened the cafe and you'll hear the passion they put into it. read more

I literally stay up at night worrying that Tropical Smoothie Cafe will discontinue their "limited time" artisan tacos. They are so delicious, every one. $7.99 for 3 is a great deal. Bacon is crunchy, Thai one has nice heat, and everything tastes fresh. The staff is polite but more importantly low key. I also bought a side of kale apple slaw as well as a fruit medley. I usually go to this TSC due to it being closest to me. They have the beyond meat "chicken" here which is great, although last time I went they had run out. My last visit they got both my order and my grandmothers incorrect, but fixed it and gave us coupons for free wraps/bowls because of the long wait. Any person commenting that it is terrible and some fruits aren't in order but how are they supposed to have everything? I like Tropical Smoothies cafes, but the one in Gainesville is one of the worst ones I've been to. They often can I get your sandwiches correct and the smoothies don't seem to have the same consistency and flavor as smoothies at other Tropical Smoothies. Here's my latest example, ask for the turkey club sandwich, with toasted bread, no cheese, extra bacon. What I received was the top bun was toasted, the bottom bun was not toasted, and no bacon. When I put the sandwich back to the register the girl at the register said she would give me some bacon in a container for me to put on the sandwich myself, because I guess I have to partially make the sandwich myself when I go there. She came back with some old dried-up flavorless bacon in a tiny little plastic cup, the size of the McDonald's little plastic ketchup containers. I asked her how was this possibly extra bacon, and she said we only put a tiny piece of bacon on the sandwich. At best the cup contain 1/2 a slice of bacon. Smh... I thought why didn't I just drive to the Chantilly, Daly dr Tropical Smoothie( absolutely excellent, excellent service food & smoothies)... why can't everybody just receive the same training for their franchise. Only reason this Tropical Smoothie could possibly have gotten three stars is because people haven't driven to other great Tropical Smoothie locations. read more

I had an unbelievably disappointing experience at this establishment today. And because of it, I will never return to this location EVER again. I happen to be a big fan of Tropical Smoothie and really enjoy their food and smoothies. Their staff (which consists mainly of teenagers) are always very friendly. Unfortunately, the teenagers were not led by example. The female owner is extremely rude and unpleasant. I've noticed this in the past, but just chalked it up to her having a bad day. But today was the final straw. I learned today that (at least while she is working) Tropical Smoothie is NOT kid friendly. My friend and I, along with each of our two children were enjoying lunch. Toward the end of our time there, the female owner asked if there was anything they could do to "help' us. Confused for a second, I wondered what we may need help with. Then I realized that she was implying that our children were being too loud. Appalled by her ignorance, I informed her that they are children and children are loud. She then, in a very snippy way, suggested that we tell them to use their "inside voices". With all of the refrain I could muster, I gathered up my things and started the process of leaving. I told her how offended I was and how I thought that this was a kid friendly establishment (considering that this is a fast food style cafe' and not a fine dining establishment). She quickly started to back peddle, suggesting that maybe she could turn on kid shows on the tv (which she did...and blared the volume). I told her not to bother and that we'd be leaving. She agreed in an overly polite/ rude tone...and then we left. I am still furious. Is she implying that kids are no longer tolerated at fast food restaurants? If she were looking for a place that caters to no children, perhaps she should have invested her money elsewhere. So, unfriendly female owner, I wish you had tolerance and tact...because without it, you have lost a loyal, well paying customer. Congratulations. read more
