This location was a bit unkempt, the tables, walls, etc. Needed a once over and the trash receptacle was kinda gross. The smoothies were however, delish as usual and I love the Island Green smoothie, I also got a Mango Madness for my friends! Yummers!! I also ordered the kids turkey and cheese wrap, which was perf for my friend's son! This a great stop for a refresher or a light meal! Love the app, and the bright decor! Really decent way to enjoy a drink with the hot weather. I went with 10 family members. We ordered smoothies to go since we had to plan out of my niece's graduation party. The service was decent and efficient. The smoothies were not all consistent since some were not blended enough with big chunks of ice and you had to wait until until the drink became watered down. And some smoothies were way too sweet. My suggestion is to get smoothies with greens in them. They are less sweet that way. Some of their all fruit smoothies are way to sweet for my taste. Some favs to try: avocolada that consists of avocados, spinach, kale, pineapple etc. Also detox island green is light and refreshing with spinach, kale, mango, banana etc. Side Note- They do have food items that are great if you want to make a meal. read more

Unfortunately this tropical smoothie has let me down a lot over the last few months: the last 3-4 times I've visited, either the order is wrong or missing something. Today I ordered an avocado grilled cheese with NO bacon, & I received a bacon grilled cheese with no avocado... I'm vegetarian so I wasn't super excited to bite into bacon, and the banana was not on the side, which they didn't contact me on, until I walked in to ask for a refund that I couldn't get. I have been twice in the past month and have attempted to use the app to place my order. The first time I had trouble with the app recognizing my order. It took 3 attempts before it went through. The second visit it did not work at all. I wanted to get credit for my rewards, so I asked the associate how to do that with the app and she was not aware. While I was at the register I paused before paying to try I figure it out and she was sighing in frustration. There was no one waiting behind me. It was rude and I didn't feel appreciated for my business. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Wrap with Kiwi Quencher smoothie and Sea Salt chips. The wrap is delicious. Not too salty. It has pineapples in it and I believe the man who works there uses a bit more sauce than the lady. The sauce makes it taste much better because there is a lot of rice in the wrap. The Kiwi Quencher is very good. I did try the Watermelon Mojito on my first visit and it was DELICIOUS! If you haven't tried it yet, it's nice and refreshing for the summer! Although I tried to get it on free smoothie day with my flip flops on and because I arrived at 1:50pm instead of 2pm and my order was placed on the app they would not honor the free smoothie- even though I added the second smoothie on AFTER I went there. The customer service is not great. The staff is not friendly at all. Thank goodness their food is good! The atmosphere is clean overall, but they've recently added a bunch of plants at the front and I saw bugs flying around where the plants (and cookies)were. read more

The place smelled badly, bathrooms are locked ( you need a key) , and there were not enough ingredients in the sandwiches we ordered. The chicken quesadilla had very little chicken. Where to begin... walked in the door and no one was at the front. Waited for a few minutes while the person in the back was carrying on a lengthy conversation with a co-worker and not caring that I was up front, even though I was clearly in her line of sight. Not even a "sorry for making you wait" she took my order. The smoothly came out fairly fast (kudos for that). But seriously I don't know if the staff there knows that most customers expect to eat their wrap with their hands, or maybe they just don't care (maybe the latter since most of the reviews reflect that). Kind of hard to eat it properly when they don't wrap it tight enough to do so... or take the time to cut the pieces completely in half in order to attempt to pick it up and eat it. I had to place an online order through my phone because the guy at the register couldn't figure out how to ring me up with the reward I was trying to use. I've worked for trop before so it was very frustrating to watch them struggle with what could've been done in 3 minutes but took 20. If I didn't already have a job I would say please hire me because this place needs help desperately! Neither my food or my smoothie was made correctly but I didn't complain because I felt bad for the new guys (it's not their fault they aren't being trained properly- shame on the managers) but it was a waste of money! I gave this location another chance when it changed management/owners. If you can get into the store when there are no other Customers, you'll be fine. Sunday, I took both my daughters to this location. We walked inside to notice a Family of 3 in line before us and then 3 distinct tables holding receipts with no beverage or food. We waited in line 3-4 minutes before I asked a lady by herself how long she had been waiting. She said '15 minutes for 1 smooth'. Immediately the Family of 3 in line in front of us turned around and said "We've been waiting 5 minutes before you came in.....the 2 workers haven't even acknowledged us or said "sorry, we'll be right with you once we fill these orders". Then I watched as 1 order was fulfilled and the employee said nothing to either family still waiting to give their order or be acknowledged. I did some simple math and figured on principal it was better to get back in my car and drive to the Virginia Center Commons location than to reward extraordinarily bad business behaviors. We left. This location is only an option going forward if there are ZERO customers in the store. Management: It's a sign of either poor leadership or lack in quality employees if guests are made to wait in line 5-10 minutes before anyone at the store acknowledges their existence. "We are sorry for the delay, we'll be right with you and appreciate your patience" is a simply line that costs you absolutely nothing and can yield huge returns to what will soon be disgruntled customers. read more

I guess if you come here for just a smoothie, you'll probably leave satisfied. And the service is quick & friendly. However, the sandwiches cost about $8 each and are absolutely not worth it. The two I ordered were the Turkey Guacamole and the Hummus Veggie sandwich. Both were small, skimpy on the ingredients, and did not taste good. I could have made better tasting sandwiches myself without much effort ... or cost. This was my first visit to this location. The parking is a joke. The restaurant is located sort of down a "parking alley", with very few parking spots available. Just turning around at the end of the "alley" is a problem. It's likely you'll be parking in the slightly larger lot located about a block away. I've never ordered sandwiches at a Tropical Smoothie previously, and after this experience... Skip this location... I used to work in the area and this location was good at the time. When in the area today, I stopped by and ordered an island green smoothie. To my surprise, there was water literally separated and sitting on the top of the smoothie and only kale and spinach was used in the smoothie--no fruits--as indicated in the menu. I let the franchise owner know this, he refused to refund or have the teen that made the smoothie do another smoothie for me. I left him know that I will NOT be back. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I looked online for a corporate number and the number that I found was out of service. I frequent another Tropical Smoothie location and get the island green smoothie. Therefore, I'm well aware how it should taste and the texture. I do NOT recommend going to this location due to the lack of customer service and not taking the time to make the smoothies correctly. I'd rate this location 0 if I could. This is probably my 3rd or 4th visit, no major complaints worth mentioning. However, tonight was the first time I've attempted to get a smoothie late. I arrived at 9:47pm to find the door locked and no one near the front of the store. I get it, employees want to wrap it up to close the store sooner than later. I just believe stores hours should reflect the actual hours of a business. I've worked with customers/patients etc. for many years and I've never had the option of shutting the doors prematurely. I love a smoothie for breakfast. It's delicious, nutritious, and quick...or it's supposed to be. I've tried to stop at this location multiple times on the way to work since they are supposed to be open at 7am. I usually get there around 7:15am, and they are not open. This is despite the fact that the hours posted on the door say they are open at 7am Mon-Fri. They end up losing my business because I go I their competitor since they actually are ready for business at 7am, even though I don't like their smoothies as much. This place is pretty good. I used to eat here A LOT before my procedure. Last night was my first night eating here in months. I got the totally turkey as recommended by a friend. It was really good. Little skimpy on the sauce making it a little to dry for my to eat, but other than that it was a good experience. I was slightly overwhelmed when I ended up spending $20 for two sandwiches! Dirty!!!!! I have had two visits to this location. i live right across the street. My first visit was great, which is why i returned. Unfortuantely my second visit didnt fair as well. i Watched as the guy behind the counter handled money and then immediately turned and handled food. i watched as this same guy coughed without covering his mouth but then rubs his nose with his hands and YUP! handles the food yet again with out even a thought to wash his hands.
