This location used to be good approximately 4.5 stars until it came under new management. I feel bad for the EVER-CHANGING employees. The female in charge, Sundae or Sunde, probably makes it a living hell for them.. and I am not surprised that the turn over rate is so terrible. I have come to this location many times. The gentleman who used to run this tropical smoothie is "no longer in charge," according to Sundae or Sunde* (female and current management). On other occasions of coming in, when the gentleman was in charge, he would be extremely helpful while she would remain on Facetime or on the phone while making customers food. She barely helped him out, and he would take the brunt of the work. I have also noticed that she normally is irritated by the fact of how customized the smoothies are, but it is not my fault that I have an allergy and a dislike to certain fruits. I have never said anything previously, which goes to show that she has had a lot of opportunity to become a better employee, but her actions have shown that she had failed to do so. If you look up my account, I have given a lot of my business to this company in general and for the past few years (images reflect highest possible tier and thank you email sent out to top customers from the CEO). Today, the manager in charge refused to type in my card information because she didn't feel like doing it. (Briel is the one signed into the register not who helped me [name on receipt]). So, I had to have my significant other come to the store to pay. The receipt shows the last four of the visa ending in four digits that reflect his card and not mine. (A more detailed photo of receipt and card information went to corporate for non public use). Anyways, I would like someone to explain to her what good customer service is and why you should not be turning away customers who are committed to the business. In addition, I found it to be very vital information that corporate is aware of this situation as it is probably not the first time this has happened, and you all are losing a great amount of business. I've just browsed over Yelp and noticed that customer service is the highest complaint. The issue obviously has not been dealt with. We have been ordering from this location for over a year now. My sister stopped to pick up our order at the Hanover location. (Wrong location) I literally just placed the order and called the Glen Burnie location to cancel my order when a rude guy answered the phone and tells me I can't cancel my order that they already made my food and smoothies. It wasn't even two minutes after I placed the order that I called to cancel or have the order transferred to the other location. I will never order from this location again. This is my favorite smoothie spot in town. The smoothies aren't overly sweet. The taste of my favorite smoothies are consistent every time. One of my favorites are the Avocolada Smoothies. I usually love tropical smoothie and go very frequently, but this was my first time at this location. When placing my order I informed staff that I have a serious peanut and dairy allergy and asked if they could please rewash the blender they use to be safe. She looked at me and said okay... and then turned around and didn't wash anything. I'm disappointed since I know they have a way to input allergy alerts when they take an order, and they didn't do that either. I understand that it's annoying for staff to ask them to take extra steps, but we ask for our own safety. Please consider allergy training for your staff in this location. read more

I'm a big fan of smoothies and these cafes have been popping up all over town so hubby and I decided to give it a try while in the area visiting family. Most smoothies have banana which I am not a fan of so I was thrilled to see several options that didn't have banana as an ingredient and ultimately went with the Sunrise Sunset which has strawberries, pineapples, mangoes (did I mention I am on a mango kick right now) and orange juice. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the smoothies are fairly large and I absolutely loved the refreshing flavor of this one, you could actually taste each of the fruits, no one flavor took over. For dinner I got the Island Chicken Quesadilla with the roasted tomato salsa and it was delicious, I love the combination of sweet and savory and the pineapple salsa was the perfect compliment to the queso blanco and smoked cheese and just the right amount of cilantro. Hubby went with the Buffalo Chicken wrap and he really enjoyed it, very filling and flavorful. I tried a bite and it was very good but would be even better with a side of blue cheese or perhaps blue cheese crumbles.
