    Pollo en crema
    Jacintha T.

Pollo en Crema I got this dish December 29, 2023 shortly after they had a grand opening. The pieces of chicken were large, only a small amount of rice was given and the red fried beans were interestingly seasoned. Today June 4, 2024 I bought the Pollo en crema again. This time the pieces of chicken were much smaller. They did give more rice which I appreciated. The rice still has an Uncle Ben's vibe to them, which is decent. The chicken was a bit bland, in the seasoning still. The black beans were extremely plain. Chorizo Quesadilla The chorizo was overly salty, it was a lazy presentation for having the sausage sliced in half and placed on one side of the tortilla. This made the bit ratio completely off. It would've also been better if they put the pico de gallo in a separate container as by the time I got home some of the pieces were soggy from the fluid. The tortilla was also over cooked in some areas with some burnt areas. Overall it was just okay. I've definitely had better. Overall the flavor palate in everything was very bland and flavorless. I'm not Guatemalan maybe that how it is supposed to be? I'd hope I'm not getting the gringo version...cause lack of flavor made me lower the stars. Staff are all friendly, plenty of seating and ample parking in the lot. It didn't feed my soul, maybe it'll feed yours?

Want to start this off by saying I'm Guatemalan and went here with my mom because it's one of her favorite places to go eat really really good authentic food that taste like home. I was skeptical at first but my mind was changed very quickly. Starting off with their drinks, I got a mango marg with tajin and it was soo good. We got garnachas as an app as it's a Guatemalan staple and they are some of the best I've had. For my main course I got their Churrasco and the steak was cooked perfectly. Can't wait to go back again and introduce it to more people who have not had Guatemalan cuisine. Please check this place out it will not disappoint.

This place is top notch. So authentic. I absolutely adore coming here because the food is always delicious, generously plated and comes out quickly. The waitresses are always pleasant and will do there best to communicate if they don't speak English well. They never seem to mind my broken Spanish in return. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Food was really good, I had to get help in figuring what to order but was quite good. Service was quick and good Ambiance was ordinary but nice as mostly everyone there spoke Spanish other than my wife and myself.

Food was great! Comfortable amount of seating. They don't seem to use air conditioning- it was hot in the dining space

Very good. The Papusas and Pastelitos were really delicious. The pico was also really yummy. We tried the appetizer platter called Chapines Plato so we could taste things.

Excellent fresh homestyle Guatemalan! Both my husband and I got chicken dishes - he got Pollo en Crema and I got Gallina Guisada. Both were fresh cooked and delicious. The tortillas are cooked fresh to order! Will definitely come back - the guava drink was also delicious!

Being Guatemalan myself it was awesome to find a Guatemalan restaurant. I wanted to keep it simple and ordered fried plantains, tostadas and carne guisada with my favorite drink atol de elote. It was all very good but I would just say the meat just needs a little more flavoring to it. Other than that I do plan on going back to try other items like tamales and chuchitos.

If you have never had Guatemalan food come try this spot. The food is good it has simple flavors and is not overwhelming like some other Latin America dishes. I will be back and try there breakfast.

Some restaurants will make theirs chunky which ruins it for me but I enjoyed the thin sauce they had. Bean and cheese was great. I did not get much flavor from the Loroco but I am not en expert on that taste and overall it was a solid cheese papusa. *Chilaquiles These were bangin!! The fried tortilla was thick and crispy! The flavor of lime was heavy which I love and the egg was fried hard which I personally prefer to the runny. The crema was flavorful and creamy. The beans were flavorful. And *Baleadas Chicken "Fresh flour tortilla, scrambled eggs, fresh cheese, sour cream, refried beans and avocado"- because we were so full, we got this to go and ate it at home. This was really tasty, seasoned very well and a great option for those who don't like corn tortillas. We're planning on getting this next time we go to the nursery down the road! Service was friendly, attentive and quick! A really sweet girl helped us out I didn't catch her name but she offered to give us table service opposed to the pay-at-the-counter service. The inside of the cafe style restaurant was a true urban Latin style vibe cage and the mural of the blue waters was pretty. My critique is that the hallway near the bathroom could use a little livening up and maybe a repaint as there was lots of black marks on the door/walls which made it feel less welcoming/ unkept. The bathroom itself was clean and well kept as it was just a single stall.

When I first walked in, I was greeted by some Juanes playing over the speakers. I later noticed some customers choosing their music off in the corner. The interior has a casual cantina feel to it. A couple of TVs were showing History channel en español. Every table had a bottle of neon-green habanero sauce I recognized from many restaurants in Mérida, Mexico. "Okay, this place is legit," I thought. The chips and salsa were good, though I would have loved some extra salsa. I got three pupusas: revuelto, de loroco, and frijoles con queso. All very tasty. Hot, greasy, and cheesy like a pupusa should be. The pickled cabbage that accompanied was fine, though in other places I'd say it's a little bit crisper and brinier. The cold weather outside made me consider soup. As with most Salvadoran places, the standards were available: de res, de mariscos, and for the brave of heart, modongo (tripe). Considering I just wanted a small bit to eat, I passed when I saw the prices of $10-$11 per bowl. Usually that kind of price tag for soup means HUGE portion. Service is decent and friendly. The hostess sympathetically nodded when I ordered a water sin hielo (did I mention it was freezing outside?). I honestly don't know if the staff speaks English. This wasn't a problem for me, pero si no hablas español, quizás sería mejor si vayas a otro lugar. If you're not sure, give them a call and ask. Once I had ordered and received my food, they didn't come over unless I signaled to them. I certainly would go back, though I'm not often in the area. If you're in the area and want some truly authentic Mexican/Salvadoran food, this is the place.

I so love yelp! I saw the pictures of what the restaurant looked like inside and not for those pictures, I would not have went just from looking at it outside. English is their second language and I am okay with that when it comes to food because that means the authenticity meter goes up. My friend had a ride before me and was sitting down with chips and salsa when I arrived. The restaurant was clean but also had a homily feel which I appreciated. After a few minutes the waitress had not returned so I jumped up to grab a menu and decide what I wanted. The menu was in Spanish but had pictures. That with my bad Spanish allowed me to order but I wanted. After some questions I decided upon two carne asada tacos, traditional. Easy, right? Yes! Those were the best tacos I have had in a long time at a restaurant. To meet with tender and there was not a lot of fat or hard in digestible pieces. The salsa verde was spectacular! I wanted to steal it but I kept my composure and remains classy and left it on the table. I actually really enjoyed my food. Must order the napoles and to it with both green sauces.

I was immensely delighted at the idea that they had a great selection of soups to include the seafood soup ( very close to a cioppino). Why 4 out of 5 then?? Well they don't serve alcohol...yet?
