I am a huge smoothie fan and seeing as how this is one of the last few smoothie places around, I'm a fan... of the smoothies. The service could definitely be better. I stopped by there a couple of times a few weeks ago since I was working on that side of town and each time I was met with very short and non welcoming "greetings" and encounters. The greetings were all basically, "Hi, what can I get you?" Which isn't rude or anything, but I guess I'm used to friendlier greetings. The smoothies and food were always delicious, so no complaints there. The service was also pretty fast, although I've never been in there while its busy. I have been drinking smoothies here for a long time and will occasionally get a meal. It's a small place and sometimes parking can be a problem, but those things don't matter to me. I'm all about the food. I've ordered many different things here and the price is pretty good. The food is always flavorful, consistently good and always hot. I never leave feeling bloated or like I've had too much but just enough. That's the way I like to feel when I eat food that is good for me. I like to support them for many reasons: they support the local community, they are a small business, health conscious and affordable. I have to say that I'm disappointed with my favorite Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I have been coming here since they opened in the early 2000s. But they have gone to bottled drinks only instead of the drink machine they've had forever. I'm not a fan of this for multiple reasons. One being that the drink selections are limited. But more importantly when I spend nearly $20 on lunch for two, I want to have the ability to get a refill and take that as a to go cup when I'm done. When I walked in, I stood at the register while the cashier had her back to me talking to other coworkers. They didn't even start my food until 10 minutes after I put my order in. Pretty good place to grab a quick bite. They have several kinds of wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, salad, etc. as well as a large selection of smoothies. On my most recent visit, I got the chipotle chicken flatbread, and it was very tasty! I decided to try their limited time pumpkin chai smoothie...I didn't care for it and wouldn't get it again. I'll stick with the typical fruity smoothies next time that I know I like. First time visiting any Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I have to say it was an amazing experience. All of the employees were very personable and knowledgeable about their positions. Shannon was very sweet, made my chocolate chimp with whey protein smoothie and I have to say it was way better than planet smoothies equivalent. The manager, Morgan, was especially helpful and personally delivered the food to my table. She even checked back with me later to make sure everything was satisfactory. I got the Turkey bacon ranch on chibata bread have to say the bread and meat ratio was perfectly delicious. This small place is well run, with a funny cashier and helpful staff. The place is clean. Parking is convenient. The prices seem reasonable. I have not tried their entire menu, and this review is based merely on one smoothie drink, the Blimey Limey. I wasn't impressed. I love lime, but the taste was just okay and the drink seemed to be mostly shaved ice with sugar. I didn't get the impression that any real fruit was used. The texture was good, and it had a light, summer feel to it. I will have to try the place again to make a better judgement, but this is my first impression. read more

The cooker comes from the neglect texting never takes her eyes off of her phone. Grabs ingredients to fix my new wrap. Picks her phone back up to finish her text. This used to be one of our favorite places, but within the last year or so, it's become more and more disappointing. It's obvious the workers are less than enthusiastic to be there, not just because they stand around and cut up with each other in the back while people are waiting to order and to get their food, but also in the lack of food quality. Compare the wraps at this location vs. the Inverness location...they are on completely different levels. If you can't make the drive to the Inverness location and you're forced to eat here, my best advice is to ask for half the sauce/dressing unless you want to drink your wrap, and ask for no water added to your smoothie (which from my understanding, comes standard at the Inverness location) unless you want a watered down, tasteless smoothie. They all need to take a field trip to the Inverness location for a day of training. read more

Tropical Smoothie is my go-to; I love it because It's inexpensive and healthy. The chipotle chicken flatbread is so good and unless I'm starving, it's enough food without making me feel over-full. I have not had every single smoothie of course, but I have two favorites -- If I am just getting my usual it's the Totally Green but if I'm feeling a little bloated I get the Detox Island Green since it's naturally sweetened with ginger. Welp-- I guess the revamp that was done 6 months ago didn't stick with the night crew. My daughter and I went in tonight a little after 7:30 to grab her a smoothie and a buffalo wrap. We left 30 minutes later (!) and only left that "soon" because the customer who came in AFTER us asked if they were making his sandwich. The "workers" acted shocked that the food wasn't magically making itself and chuckled like "tee-hee I guess we better work". Idiots.
