Today's review is going to focus on today's experience. Tropical Smoothie is downstairs at work, so convenient in a pinch if I forget my lunch or don't have something to bring. They do have sandwiches, flatbreads, and wraps, which I have had, and are generally pretty good, but can be hit or miss, depending on your palette. This is the same for the smoothies. I have had time to narrow down the ones that I like. I also limit myself to the lower-calorie smoothies because some may as well be a milkshake. For me, the Mango Madness smoothie with Splenda as a substitute for the regular sweetener (There is also the option to sub turbinado - a natural brown sugar - or half turbinado). I love the mango taste and it has the right amount of sweetness. I order online and go to pick it up after 10 minutes or so because there is often a line at lunchtime and it is usually ready when I get there. I am sometimes surprised by how full I feel with a smoothie for lunch! read more

I am a huge fan of Tropical Smoothie cafes in general and always get the same two smoothies when I go. This was my first time at this particular Tropical Smoothie and I got Jetty Punch using the app to order it on the go. I ordered about 10 minutes ahead and it was ready to go when I arrived in one of the take out cubbies. I like how organized the cubbies are which made it easy to find my smoothie. The smoothie was about ~$5.40 which I am always willing to pay for the size of it. However, this particular smoothie did have some ice chunks in it and was not as smooth as it typically is. Placed my order for smoothie + sandwich on the app easily and was quoted about 20 minutes. I work in the building so went down a few minutes before. Since it was after the lunch rush, it was ready early. The staff is always friendly, I previously avoided going because it took 20-30 min for an order at any time. I hope this is a good sign! The chicken caprese was a bit messy, but hearty and pesto was tasty--the chicken was ok mostly dark meat and I wasn't expecting that for "grilled"; the island green was delicious (no turninado). read more

I might go into detail next time, but I order here 5 days a week and they mess my order up more often than they don't. It's become real annoying though. Train your staff. UPDATE: I wrote this today, waiting for them to remake my order, which they marked in the to go as a different name, plus the order was so wrong it really looked like someone else's. Well, right before they remade it I tell them no rice. And here I am, 40 min of my time wasted, just for the order to still be wrong. I work in the same building where this Tropical Smoothie is and it's very convenient when you are in a rush, the food is very affordable and great deals with your meal. The only thing I dislike about this place is its wait time its a hit or miss. You'll one time get your food on time and sometimes the people that ordered there food after you get their food first and sometimes that could get annoying. This place is so addicting. I love coming here for a quick healthy lunch. This location is located on the bottom floor of a professional building and has lots of great indoor and outdoor seating for nicer days. It tends to get pretty packed around noon, so try to come in a little before to beat the rush. My favorite smoothie is the Mango made with Splenda, and the new Thai chicken wrap is delicious! read more

Terrible service. Called in an order 10 Min ahead of arriving because i have severe wisdom surgery pains and didn't wanna sit waiting. Only ordered a smoothie. The employee on the phone said it'd be ready by the time i got there. They didnt even look at the screen for my order bc i got there and had to wait almost 10 for my smoothie. She didnt even go to make it herself even though i could tell it was the samw girl i talked to on the phone and there was no line keeping her from helping the other workers that were in the back making food. The same employee was on the phone n was MAD rude, I understand u don't wanna work but i was not rude to her on the phone; just short bc i can barely open my mouth. While taking my order on the phone, the computer went down so, she asked me to repeat my order because it was gone off the screen. I start repeating and she interrupted me rudely af, "-yea i got it". What was the point of asking me to just cut me off w a nasty attitude. Im so disappointed w my experience here and i love tropical smoothie. I def will never come to this location because it was an accident anyways. i used to work here. absolutely horrible management. i got the job and started training, the training consisted of 10 minutes of teaching me how stuff is set up/ how to make the smoothies then people would come in and they would just send me to the back to wash dishes for the rest of my shift. two months in, still had no idea how to make smoothies bc i was never really taught, i had a shift and came in to see the sink overflowing, well they told me to do the dishes (like they always did) and i noticed that my eczema was acting up on my hands from the disinfect they use on the dishes so i asked if they had any gloves so i wouldn't get the soap on my hands they handed me latex gloves and i go "oh latex gloves make my skin act up, do you have vinyl gloves?" i was asked to clock out an hour early and go home, i was shocked but i did it anyway. the same day i get a text from the manager saying "come in at 7am" so i come in the next morning. the manager and assistant manager are sitting there. the assistant manager has her head on the table and the manager goes "you're terminated because we hired you during a slow season" i was appalled and before i could say anything they had gotten up and walked away. before this i worked as a server for 5 years at a very high end assisted living facility so the server in me catches on quickly when it comes to food service but they didn't even give me a chance here. i hope the manager is fired and stops playing screamo music at 7am. horrible place to work, horrible place to eat. read more

I would go back for the Peanut Butter Cup smoothie, but that is about it. The food wasn't that great and had an off flavor too it- I think it was the carrots tasting a little spoiled. It was kind of expensive as well. The girls that served us provided average service, kind of flat. One girl was nice, but the other one wasn't spectacular. We asked if they provided free refills since it was our first time there and all she said was "no." Not even a "I'm sorry, we don't do that" or "I can get you water instead". Just "no". I come here on a regular basis. They're food is good and their employees are friendly, however, their smoothies are terrible. On my last 3 visits, i thought they just didnt put enough sugar, then realized their smoothies are watered down. No flavor, they are bland and taste like nothing. I dont want another smoothie from here again if i'm just going to be paying for ice and water. $5 for a smoothie is alot and in today's economy, its nothing to throw around. read more

The quality of the food has drastically fallen over the past few months to the point where I will no longer be stopping by for lunch. So I came in and used a coupon for the Watermelon Mojito, and someone at work knocked it over and it exploded all over the ground. I didn't even get to drink it! I went to the cashier and I said "Hey a coworker just knocked over my watermelon mojito, is it possible to get it at the coupon price again? and they said "No worries, if it was spilled we will refill it for free" and they handed me a new one! I rarely go out of my way to leave a negative review, but this was one of the worst lunches I've ever had. I had very low expectations, and was still disappointed. I ordered the southwest chicken salad, went with the meatless chicken, I've had other soy/meatless-meats before, this stuff was exceptionally rubbery and chewy, so I picked it out, the salad itself was very pedestrian, on par-subpar with what you get at any fast food joint. Their namesake, the smoothie, I ordered a Blueberry-Strawberry Smoothie, I felt it was overly icy, resulting in a watered down taste. This location gets busy at lunch, it's tight and crammed, I can only assume it's due to the convenience of the location, not the food quality. My friend that I went to lunch with wanted to order their steak tacos, they were out.. standing at the register there was general confusion behind the counter among the workers, not giving me much confidence in the ensuing meal... My salad was given to me in a bag without a fork, I had to work my way up to the the counter get the attention of one of the overwhelmed works to give me a packet plastic wrapped utensils that look line they are made for a kindergartener. If you're in the area looking for a similar place, I would recommend Fresh 2 Order, or Designer Greens. read more

This place is the best and frequent it about it about twice a week. I personally think the smoothies are a lot better than Planet Smoothie, but I can't quite tell what it is. Might be that they use real fruit, or maybe the sugar. Or probably the girls, but either way, go here. read more
