    Taste of the caribean

We stopped by the Lava Lounge for a casual dinner with water view and fireworks! Not our first restaurant choice, but there was no wait time for a table... We had a nice waterside table, started off with a cool energetic server taking care of us. Things kinda got very slow, it took a good while to get our order taken, water, and drinks.. the food was about an hour wait, and the restaurant was not too busy at the time.. We got a menu with no prices- and the wait staff was unsure of the prices.. odd?? The fish tacos had a really nice presentation & very generous portion.. the taste of Caribbean dish, was not that great, looked a bit messy and was not as tasty. It was okay, but i would not visit again, or recommend... unless its strictly for a beer at the bar..

Nice outdoor lounge & the inside looks like your in the middle of a rainforest. My experience was nice but the food took almost 40 minutes to come out. I had the talapia tacos . The tortillas did not taste good at all & the fish needed seasoning . The bartenders did an excellent job!

I wouldn't waste my $ if I could The pork chops were horrible and the ribs were tough Also the service is terrible. Don't go here Yes it's pretty by the water but that's all!

Whether or not Rainlforest is busy, stop by Lava Lounge. There is a full menu and bar available. The outdoor seating and atmosphere is splendid on a warm day to soak up the sum and libations. Enjoy!

For Disney to have some kind of secret area in Disney Springs is actually pretty cool. Its very quiet and away from everything. Best part is you are right on the water and if you have a spot for the 9p fireworks, its worth it. Its a part of the Rainforst Cafe but it's the outside space so it's the same food and drinks except more quiet and you can people watch. Bartenders were very nice and helpful but it really didnt matter because you're enjoying area. I would come back fuuuuuuur sherrrr.

Great place to stop and get a drink really quick at the bar outside. They typically have seats but not at the tables around. Make a reservation for inside because it's typically very busy. Some of their apps are pretty good. They are just typical bar food. The nachos are decent. It does have an amazing view of Disney springs while you are sitting outside. Not my favorite but worth a quick stop for an app if you can't get in anywhere else.

Wanted to give a shout out to the guys working the Lava Lounge at Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs last night. My wife and I had never known it was there but decided to try it around 5pm for dinner and jumped in line. There was a bit of a backup due to lack of staffing (only the host, bartenders and one server), and some in line got grumpy and left. We decided to stick it out, and we are so glad we did! First, Donny (the host -- a very amiable older guy from Massachusetts) was busting his butt to clear and reset tables every time a party left. This wasn't his job, but he wanted to get people in as quickly as possible. He kept everyone informed in line and calmed people down with his good-natured humor. Then Jacob (bartender and the one who came to our table to wait on us), was so efficient and patient. The other bartender helped too, but I sadly didn't catch his name. Even though they were slammed they didn't act like it or make you feel like it, and did an amazing job of handling mixing and serving drinks and attending to all the seated tables -- many with kids. We read a lot about the rudeness people get from Disney CM's, and we know it's hard to staff places these days, but I thought this location and guys deserved some praise. The service was GREAT, the food DELICIOUS (we had nachos and a burger -- literally the best tasting I've had on property), and the view on the lake at sunset and after was gorgeous. We asked to see the GM and let him know what an incredible job his guys were doing, tipped them all very well, and even slipped Donny a Starbucks gift card as a little extra "thank you" for all he was doing. If you haven't tried the Lava Lounge, do it... and if you encounter these guys let them know another AP was praising their attitudes and performance. And when you encounter exceptional service, do what you can to acknowledge it! (Pic is our view from our table)

Rasta Pasta with chicken, Pinot Grigio

My husband and I stumbled on the place on a date night in Disney springs. We waited a few minutes to be seated, if felt very private and exclusive. Majority of the tables are on the waterside and it gives such a beautiful view, even at night. We JUST missed the fireworks but I'm sure it's the perfect view of them. I ordered a Pinot Grigio $8 and my husband got the Strawberry Mojito $16 For dinner I got the Rasta Pasta. It was hot and the chicken was cooked very well. The broccoli seemed like it was frozen so it was tough to eat. It reminded me of the frozen steamer bags you can get from the store. I was hungry and it did the trick so no complaints here. The service was a little slow but there were two only servers outside they also covered the bar, and it was busy. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back for sure

I normally hate making bad views however I would give this place zero stars if I could. Right off the bath I got a drink and I immediately forgot to let the bartender know hey could you do it not in a shaker. The bartender continued to make a really big deal about my for allergies and he told me that allergies is a special word at Disney so he's going to get his manager. And then the manager proceeded to come out and make it a big hole issue when I literally just told them old people do it all the time you just take two plastic cups and toss the drink. I will never be drinking hair again and I will never be visiting the lob lounge again after that experience.

The carpet in the room majorly needs an upgrade, as do the bathrooms. Two bed rooms come with a queen and a full which is interesting - I wish it was just two queens. The queen feels more like full size and the full feels more like twin size. It's a tough share for two, even with littles. Rooms are also really small, like hard to find floor space for your suitcase small. All rooms are advertised to have balconies, and I think this is false advertising. It's a juliet balcony, just wide enough to step foot on. But otherwise, this was a solid hotel stay. If you opt not to do valet you can still park on hotel grounds and it's only a few minutes walk to the car. The pool area is very large with several different pools, a splash pad and a slide. There is also a lake to take boats out on. We didn't try this, but it's a fun amenity. You can also rent bikes, and there was a rock wall! The highlight of our stay was the hotel parrot, Merlot. My kids got a huge kick out of this on our way in and out each day. We didn't try and food or drink here, but they do have a few restaurants on the property. Overall, this hotel is nice enough. Especially if you are using Hyatt rewards. Oh, and most importantly it's only a few minutes drive from Disney, AND we saw the fireworks from our 'balcony'. Big win!

It is a short 2alj to the corner roads where there are also an abundance of restaurants and shops nearby. Disney springs is 1.5miles away by car or a 45min walk. The service is excellent and I enjoy the poolside foid and drink service. They have implemented a towel system to scan your room card and return when done using or if not returned there's a $25 fee per towel charged to your room. The cabanas are huge! There are 2 hot tubs, and 3 interconnected pools. The shallow pool towards the rock wall is quietest and warmest. The pools tend to be on the cooler side. Bid say for December they should be heated to at least 82. It felt like it was between 75-80. When the weather outside is around the same it gets chilly stepping out of the pool. We used the kayaking, golf and bike rentals. All which are included in your resort fee of $50per day. Such a fun place. I recommend to spend a few days to soley stay at the property to relax and enjoy all it offers. You never have to leave the resort.

Let's focus on the positives first: the atmosphere is incredibly fun and the live music Saturday night was a perfect touch at the bar. There were plenty of fun activities for the kids and there was an all-you-can-eat buffet for the kids with fried chicken and shrimp, macaroni and cheese, fries, and red velvet cupcakes. $25 is a deal if your child would chow down on shrimp, but it might not be a great deal if your child is usually full after four bites. Our server was absolutely fantastic, friendly and very attentive. We started off the dinner with some fantastic deviled eggs and a lemon cello cocktail. I ordered the shrimp and grits and was really disappointed with the tiny, overcooked shrimp and crawfish that accompanied the slightly bland grits. The shrimp on the kids buffet was at least four times larger than the sad little shrimp in my dish. I think the sausage was cut into smaller chunks just so it wouldn't be so obvious how small the shrimp was. My husband didn't love his heirloom tomato salad and said the Wagyu appetizer was disgusting. Dessert was mediocre. The macarons that accompanied my crème brûlée were stale and chewy. This is a fun spot for a drink and appetizer, but I would skip eating dinner at Highball & Harvest.

LetterPress is the Hilton Buena Vista's marquee restaurant, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a family friendly setting with nice touches. We made a reservation well in advance just in case but the place seems large enough where walking in shouldn't be much of an issue. After sitting down we got right back up as we opted for the breakfast buffet, which at $30 is an absolute steal. Let's get into what we got: We started off with carbs: pancakes and waffles. Both of which were okay with there being. A decent wait on the waffle machine. Unless you're craving either we would say it's not the best bet to stack up on. For meat they have a lot of options from bacon to pork sausage to chicken sausage. The bacon was alright and the pork sausage was the standard small ones you find just about everywhere; the chicken sausage though was delicious, a nice sweet flavor to it and large. They also have eggs and breakfast potatoes alongside the meat, the eggs being meh and the potatoes being pretty good. The better egg option is the omelette bar which is fantastic. There are probably about 20 different ingredients you can toss into them and it is well worth the wait. Oatmeal is another carb offered and that's self-serve so you can make it how you like. Many different pastries are also available so you can get a fix on your sweet tooth (all were pretty good). Last, for drinks we got chocolate milk, coffee, and juices from their self-serve juice machine. For that we got mango and apple juices. Again, for the price of $30 this is just an unbelievable deal, especially for families looking to get growing kids fed in as quick and convenient a place as possible. The added convenience of it being close to the pool and just downstairs adds another layer to it. While we can only testify to their breakfast buffet this does also look like a great option to take up on their actual menu. For a simple meal for two people, the service was unreasonably slow throughout the evening. Our server, Svet, was polite and personable, but friendliness alone could not make up for the delays. The hummus appetizer was excellent and was easily the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful and served with pita, cucumbers, carrots, and red peppers. The food presentation overall was attractive and showed promise. The most serious issue occurred when my son ordered a refill of his virgin mojito and was served a drink containing alcohol. He immediately noticed something was wrong after taking a sip and handed it to me. I tasted it as well and confirmed that it contained alcohol. Serving alcohol in a child's drink is a significant mistake and should never happen. We also ordered the steak frites based on a recommendation and were told it was exceptional. Unfortunately, the steak was extremely tough and chewy, making it difficult to eat and far from what was described. Management apologized and removed the steak from the bill, but the combination of excessive wait times, the alcohol mix-up involving a minor, and the disappointing entrée left a poor overall impression.
