If you are looking for a small little place to grab a drink and there are no seats inside the Rain Forest cafe then Lava lounge is your spot. I personally prefer to sit at the bar inside so you can experience the vibe of Rain Forest, but there is an outdoor lounge/bar attached to the main restaurant. This is located at Disney Springs, to the left of the main entrance of Rain Forest. It is sort of hidden but look for the sign and head down to the water. It's just a lounge/bar area with bar seats, and a few high tops. My pros: 1. drinks are incredibly strong 2. beautiful water views 3. never crowded 4. you can order the whole menu if you cant get seats inside 5. area is covered if it's raining 6. Drinks are not that expensive My cons: 1. no Rain Forest vibes as inside 2. the drinks are so so, depending on what you order, but are very strong 3. food was just ok 4. seating is outside so very warm in the summer 5. The bar counter is too low for the height of the chairs I ordered an old fashioned and it was so strong, I personally like that, I felt like I got my money's worth but tasted more like bourbon than anything else. It definitely was not a classic old fashioned. My wife ordered a strawberry mojito and again strong, but super sour. She did not enjoy it. For food we ordered one of their appetizers, their nachos. It was a large portion of nachos topped with peppers, onions, black bean chili, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, Chili Con Queso, green onions, sour cream, pico de gallo, and salsa. It was good, but the bottom was so wet and soggy. I assume from the pico but it was not appealing and for $24 it should not have been like that. Overall I think this spot is fine. If you want a strong cheap drink this is your place. As I get older I prefer quality so it's not a spot I will run to all the time. However, if we were at Disney Springs and wanted a place to chill, I would definitely consider this spot. The views are really nice, there can be a great breeze coming off the water so it can be really relaxing. Lava lounge is the lounge attached to the Rain Forest Cafe. It is located at Disney Springs. If you can see the giant volcano that spits fire every now and then, you are pretty much there. It is not super well known, sort of hidden but very easy to get to. If you are in front of the Rain Forest Cafe you need to head to the left and there is a small walk way that leads to the lounge. There is a sign overhead so you can easily find it. This is considered a lounge but its really an additional bar. Inside the rainforest there is another bar, this one is just outside on the water. There is a bar with seats then some high top tables. The chairs at the bar are comfy, they have a cushion but the chair is too high for the bar table. You can order the entire Rain Forest menu here. They have specialty cocktails, a few beers and wine and a limited bar. I noticed that a lot of people were full dining here especially at the tables but most people at the bar were just getting drinks. Rain Forest can be hard to get a reservation due to the uniqueness and fun-ness of the restaurant so this is a great alternative if you are wanting to dine here. There are no fun animatronics as inside the restaurant so if you are looking for that vibe, you need to dine inside. My husband and I recently visited the lounge with a friend. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. I tried the strawberry mojito and where the drink was very strong it was so sour. It was not my favorite. Most of their drinks are also served in a souvenir glass which I do not like. You are paying more for the glass but it is a nice souvenir. My husband ordered an old fashioned and a beer. The old fashioned was also incredibly strong. For food we ordered nachos, which was an appetizer. They were fine, had a good flavor but there was a lot of "juice" on the bottom and made the nachos soggy. I think it was from the tomatoes but it made it very unappealing. Overall this is a nice little spot, I don't think its very well known. It was never super busy when we were there. Their drinks are very strong though. It sits right on the water which is also really nice. It is covered so if it's raining this is a nice spot to wait out the rain and grab a drink. We stopped by the Lava Lounge for a casual dinner with water view and fireworks! Not our first restaurant choice, but there was no wait time for a table... We had a nice waterside table, started off with a cool energetic server taking care of us. Things kinda got very slow, it took a good while to get our order taken, water, and drinks.. the food was about an hour wait, and the restaurant was not too busy at the time.. We got a menu with no prices- and the wait staff was unsure of the prices.. odd?? The fish tacos had a really nice presentation & very generous portion.. the taste of Caribbean dish, was not that great, looked a bit messy and was not as tasty. It was okay, but i would not visit again, or recommend... unless its strictly for a beer at the bar.. read more

Great place to watch fireworks and people boating past. I love a good outdoor patio. The restrooms are inside in the restaurant, so it was a little confusing. Our server was friendly, but we were left alone for long stretches. It was much easier to have a large group together here than many other locations at Disney Springs. read more

Arrived at about 8:15 on a Friday, and the host stand was empty...the entrance roped off. We waited for about 10 minutes next to an adorable family with a toddler, then headed down to ensure someone was at the post. I went to the bar, watched someone clean two tables (I would say it was fairly busy), then she stood back and waited. I asked her about getting a table, and she replied "you should have waited for the host." When I apologized and said I wasn't sure if anyone was watching the host stand, she said "I'm the host." With a forced smile, she gestured to the host stand. As I walked up, several people were walking out and saying how bad the service was. "We waited an hour for cold food!" was the cry as they stormed out. We come to Disney monthly, and were excited to check this place out as a spot at Disney Springs, but this is very much below our expectations for the Springs! Hopefully we just caught them on a bad day, but we won't be rushing back. If you're hoping to sneak away as a couple of adults on vacation, I'd suggest other locations like Star Gazer's or Enzo's Hideaway over this. They don't seem excited to have business. read more

I'm a landrys member and part of the membership is jumping to the front of the line for being seated, and they told me at the restaurant it was still a 30 min wait. We went to the lava lounge instead where we were sat right away, but our server was terrible. We were the first in our section to be sat, a party of 5 who made very simple orders, and were the very last to be given our bill. We sat there long waiting for our server to come over, we placed our drinks and waited forever to get those, other tables around us were being served their drinks and food before we even got to place our order. The food was mediocre at best. Would not recommend this location, I would choose any other restaurant at Disney springs. read more

We came here to grab drinks and appetizers before doing some shopping but to get seated there was so much dysfunction from the staff. When we asked for a table we were told to wait 5-10 min for them to clear the table then the waiter completely forgot us and then we got asked like 3-5 times by other staff if we were waiting and we kept saying yes but kept getting ignored. For Disney to have some kind of secret area in Disney Springs is actually pretty cool. Its very quiet and away from everything. Best part is you are right on the water and if you have a spot for the 9p fireworks, its worth it. Its a part of the Rainforst Cafe but it's the outside space so it's the same food and drinks except more quiet and you can people watch. A-OK. There are pros and cons to this bar location. Pros are that it's pretty well hidden so it's nowhere near as crowded as other areas in Springs. They also have a great water view from any of the seating areas which is super nice. Staff is also very nice and quick to get drinks out. They were super nice to our little and even grabbed a kids menu pack with crayons for her despite us only getting drinks. Cons are that it's fully outdoors, so much of the summer it really is hard to sit out here. I genuinely feel bad for the bar staff that has to stand behind the bar and work the drinks and food in the heat. The drinks are of course in fridges, but other than that it's just hot out there. The other con is that since it's outside and kinda tucked away ordering food to arrive out here can take some extra time. It's not a huge deal, just something to know if you have any kind of time crunch. Great place to stop and get a drink really quick at the bar outside. They typically have seats but not at the tables around. Make a reservation for inside because it's typically very busy. Some of their apps are pretty good. They are just typical bar food. The nachos are decent. It does have an amazing view of Disney springs while you are sitting outside. Wanted to give a shout out to the guys working the Lava Lounge at Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs last night. My wife and I had never known it was there but decided to try it around 5pm for dinner and jumped in line. There was a bit of a backup due to lack of staffing (only the host, bartenders and one server), and some in line got grumpy and left. We decided to stick it out, and we are so glad we did! First, Donny (the host -- a very amiable older guy from Massachusetts) was busting his butt to clear and reset tables every time a party left. This wasn't his job, but he wanted to get people in as quickly as possible. He kept everyone informed in line and calmed people down with his good-natured humor. Then Jacob (bartender and the one who came to our table to wait on us), was so efficient and patient. The other bartender helped too, but I sadly didn't catch his name. Even though they were slammed they didn't act like it or make you feel like it, and did an amazing job of handling mixing and serving drinks and attending to all the seated tables -- many with kids. We read a lot about the rudeness people get from Disney CM's, and we know it's hard to staff places these days, but I thought this location and guys deserved some praise. The service was GREAT, the food DELICIOUS (we had nachos and a burger -- literally the best tasting I've had on property), and the view on the lake at sunset and after was gorgeous. We asked to see the GM and let him know what an incredible job his guys were doing, tipped them all very well, and even slipped Donny a Starbucks gift card as a little extra "thank you" for all he was doing. If you haven't tried the Lava Lounge, do it... and if you encounter these guys let them know another AP was praising their attitudes and performance. My husband and I stumbled on the place on a date night in Disney springs. We waited a few minutes to be seated, if felt very private and exclusive. Majority of the tables are on the waterside and it gives such a beautiful view, even at night. We JUST missed the fireworks but I'm sure it's the perfect view of them. I ordered a Pinot Grigio $8 and my husband got the Strawberry Mojito $16 For dinner I got the Rasta Pasta. It was hot and the chicken was cooked very well. The broccoli seemed like it was frozen so it was tough to eat. It reminded me of the frozen steamer bags you can get from the store. I was hungry and it did the trick so no complaints here. The service was a little slow but there were two only servers outside they also covered the bar, and it was busy. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back for sure read more

I normally hate making bad views however I would give this place zero stars if I could. Right off the bath I got a drink and I immediately forgot to let the bartender know hey could you do it not in a shaker. The bartender continued to make a really big deal about my for allergies and he told me that allergies is a special word at Disney so he's going to get his manager. And then the manager proceeded to come out and make it a big hole issue when I literally just told them old people do it all the time you just take two plastic cups and toss the drink. Been here a bunch of times while at the Disney Marketplace area. Cool spot to escape and sit in the nice air conditioning at the bar. My dad and I will go have a few cold beers while the ladies walk around and do some gift shopping. They have a half decent selection, and it's nice to drink some local craft beers on the menu such as Orlando Brewing IPA and Funky Buddha Floridian Hefeweizen. As it's in the Rain Forest Cafe if you go there for lunch or dinner the wait times can be ridiculous. Yet, if you don't mind sitting at the fun bar you can get a spot quickly, and the food menu is the same. The bar stools always crack me up as you're sitting on the bottom half of wild animals! read more

Every last one of them was so weak I'd be surprised if they had even half the alcohol in them they should have had. Mine actually tasted like someone had just put margarita mix in a glass and served it. No ice, no salt, no alcohol, nothing. Could I have complained then? Yes, but 1) I shouldn't have to, and 2) we had dropped by their for a "quick" drink on the way to meet others, and frankly I didn't want to deal with a manager when I had someplace to be. The food however wasn't anything to shout about. Super glad we didn't wait for 2 hrs for a meal that we could of gotten from Denny's... Seriously, I think the short staff may have had something to do do with the overall experience. The tables were messy and before setting down, we had to ask them to clean it. I think the host discriminated against us, a Latino family. I usually hate saying things like that, but I genuinely cannot come up with another explanation on why he acted like this. We go to Disney Springs at least once per year, and during each of those visits we come here to get sodas and dessert. This last visit is going to officially be our last ever. We come in and ask the host of the lounge for a table for 3. The host says that he cannot seat us. We ask why, and he a bit aggressively repeats that he cannot seat us without any explanation. There wasn't any line for the lounge or for the inside restaurant, so it wasn't like the place was busy or anything and there weren't any signs saying there was a private event going on or something. We even tell him that we will just order drinks, and he refuses. As we didn't get an explanation, we went inside and spoke to the nice hostess there to see if she could explain what was going on. When we tell her that they rejected us, she looked super confused, and said that there were no issues at all, and we should be sat. She told us to try it again with the other host cause there are seats available, and unfortunately she could not seat us there herself (turns out, there were only two small families there eating, so the lounge was incredibly empty). We come back and before we can say anything, the host gets mad at us for speaking to the other hostess. He says something the along the lines of "I can't believe you went to someone else" and when we told him it was because he offered no explanation, he rolled his eyes and grabbed a bunch of menus and told us to follow him. We follow and he seats us in a table right near the bar and back stairs. We asked him if we could move to the table right next to it because it had better shade, he told us he could not do that because it is a fire hazard to sit anyone there. A FIRE HAZARD. This table is right next to ours, houses the same amount of seats, and we can't sit there because of a fire hazard? If it's a hazard, then why have that table there at all? Keep in mind, we did not have anything that required extra room like a wheelchair, or crutches, or anything like that. Plus, there are a ton of pictures online of people sitting in the exact same table. so if it is a hazard, then they are putting multiple families at risk all the time, which is not OK. And if it isn't a hazard (which there is no reason for it to be, there is a ton of room there), then he is lying and that is also not OK. We decide not to argue it and sit at the table given. Our waitress comes out and is super nice and amazing. We all put in drink orders and wait. It takes a while before we get our drinks (about 10-15 minutes), but none of us minded as we just chatted amongst ourselves. The host, on the other hand, minded it very much as he storms over to us and goes "I thought you were only going to order drinks." We tell him we did just order drinks and that they just haven't arrived yet. Then he says that the table we are at is also a fire hazard and we need to leave ASAP, so we cannot order anything besides drinks. Again, if that were true, he should not have sat us there at all, nor should there be a table there. And if he said to us before that this table is also a fire hazard, he would've never sat there to begin with. Before we can even question him on this, the waitress comes out with our drinks. He stands there the entire time the waitress gives us our drinks and we tell her that we don't want to hold up anyone's time further, and would like the check now. When he hears we are getting the check, he leaves us alone. While we don't pay the check right away (we waited until all of our drinks were done), none of us got any refills because of the host. We just finished our drinks and left, took maybe 30 minutes total. When we left, the host thankfully did not say anything to us. Horrible experience, and will not be coming back. read more

I would recommend this lounge if the service was better. My family and I were served last when we were the first ones there. We literally walked in first and didn't get our menus until the families around us got there's first (we're Hispanic). The food is mediocre and the drinks were okay. I wanted a drink with lemonade and they ran out of lemonade. We were never asked if we were okay or needed anything. Overall, not the best place to visit in Disney springs. read more

If you can't get a seat in the Rain Forest Cafe, try the Lava Lounge. It has the same food and drinks and has GREAT views of the water, Disney Springs, and even fireworks! We ordered sodas for everyone and an appetizer platter. On a cool evening, it's great to sit down by the water and relax. All of the Landry's benefits are there but it's a quieter setting. If you have someone in the group that doesn't like that much noise and stimuli, the Lava Lounge is a great place to eat and relax at Disney Springs. Just remember that the soda has free refills, which is good because they cost about $4 each. However, the root beer comes in a bottle and it's a one time thing. read more

This was the worst restaurant experience ever. We had to wait extensively long to get our dinner. We actually had to leave after waiting so long because of our evening plans but finally they came but with the wrong dish. The manager didn't truly care when we explained that we were running out of time because of our special evening. Because of the extremely long waiting we couldn't wait any longer. So we shared the one dish to finish asap because of our plans. We asked for an extra saucer to share and we got a tiny mini saucer, he truly didn't care... Now about the food: Sirloin steak, The steak was cold and like rubber, the meat was totally ruined, the substance of the mashed potatoes was like pre chewed gum, the taste was aqueous and like dish water. The vegetables were terribly over cooked and didn't look fresh so the flavour and structure were totally gone, it tasted like sweat and feet. Everything was served cold. The waiter with drinks was very nice and kind. But the manager of this restaurant was horribly incompetent with totally no understanding or empathy to the customers, he was very arrogant and totally not helpful. This is an outdoor lounge that is part of the Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs with patio seating and views of the lake. You walk through what is supposed to be a lava tube to get to the lounge. Uhhh... we've been in lava tubes. This didn't hit the mark. Nonetheless, it made for an interesting entrance. The service here was phenomenal! The guys at the bar were always on top of things! Our glasses were never empty. They were quite attentive. I didn't have any drinks but water. My Sweetie had the Moscow Mule. However, it wasn't the same as they served it in a short clear glass instead of a copper mug. On his 2nd drink, he had the strawberry mule. It was an ok divergence from the original moscow mule. I rated this place down for not having copper mugs for their moscow mules and their food was mediocre at best. Isn't that supposed to be the star of any restaurant? I had the Carribean Coconut Fried Shrimp, which came with a choice of side, coleslaw, and a mango sauce. I chose Carribean Rice for my side. The coconut shrimp was the smallest I've had at any restaurant and on top of that, they were unusually greasy. They served my dish in a paper-lined basket and you can see the paper drenched in oil. The mango sauce was odd tasting. I couldn't make out the mango flavor in it at all. It tasted really heavy -- more like a smokey bbq sauce. The Caribbean rice was on the dry side. I ate my shrimp out of hunger but didn't touch anything else on my plate. My Sweetie had the Ribs, Steak, and Shrimp trio. It haf Carribean Coconut Shrimp, Mojo Bones Ribs, Flat Iron Steak, and Fries. His shrimp was not as greasy as mine and he says it was ok -- nothing to write home about. He mistook the mango sauce for sone sort of BBQ sauce. The steak was nothing special but he did say the ribs were good. If we were to be back to Disney Springs with all the eateries available, this wouldn't be on our radar at all. They did however have excellent service! read more

First, the atmosphere was excellent. The staff seemed like they didn't want to be there for the most part. Most importantly.....the food. I got the coconut shrimp. Rip off ! they take one shrimp and CUT IT IN HALF and then butterfly it so they tell you that you get 8 shrimp but it was actually 4. Shame, shame. It was ALL coating (mushy on the inside) and THIN piece of shrimp. The actual outside crunchy part was very tasty. The sauce that comes with it was exceptional but after peeling all the mushy coating, I really didn't get to enjoy it. The cole slaw was warm so I didn't eat it. Had no wait Lava Lounge part of the Rainforest Café at Disney Springs. We and a massive number of people were at Disney Springs last night. While there is a ton of restaurant choices, we had been looking forward to going to the Rainforest Café. There was a 3 hour wait, but we overhead someone else saying there was no wait at the Lava Lounge. Our choice was obvious. They have the same menu and the seating is outside along the water. It was a beautiful spot. I had the Maui Meatloaf. It was a large portion of food, a little dry but tasty, and had an entire hard-boiled egg in the middle of the meatloaf. It was busy of course but our server did a very good job considering. We were able to eat and walk around the inside of the Rainforest Café in less time than we would have had to wait to be seated inside. read more

I ordered the appetizer platter that had items like chicken fingers, cheese sticks, etc. The wait was 32 minutes and the cost was $19.99. Hamburgers started around 15-16 bucks. My family of 5 ate here, with drinks for $96 plus tip. The service was decent and the vibe cool, but you're paying for it. The food was nothing too impressive, but I'm not saying "bad". The biggest benefit of the Lava Lounge is the opportunity of possibly skipping the lines and getting a sit down meal in Disney Springs. It was a nice place to unwind and wait for our table for another restaurant. I enjoyed an Amazon Journey on a hot and steamy afternoon. One sip of this concoction made of three types of Rums took me straight down a winding river as a warm breeze brushed up against my sweaty face. The humidity slowly creeped up from the surface, and it was a signal for me to take another sip of this wondrous trio of spirits. Came into the lounge for some dessert which is off to the side of the restaurant. Don't waste your time on the volcano! It's nothing but mediocre! Something I can make at home for way cheaper. And the brownie wasn't even warm. Heck you can walk down to Ghiradelli and get a sundae for way better and more satisfying and definitely more delicious and even cheaper with a warm brownie! My fiancé and I only came to try it out based on blog reviews and it sure disappointed us. I wouldn't suggest sitting out by the water at night or get ready to be bitten up. Might be better in the daytime to check out the view of the water, but if you are here at night you can view Illuminations from here as well. read more
