I've been meaning to try this place for a while. And I finally did! It's a quaint little shop nearby UCF. And what caught my eye when doomscrolling through instagram and skimming through my apps for recommended food places were their sandwiches and pastries. They are as beautiful in person as they are in the pictures. One thing I can't infer from a picture very well is the size. And let me tell you, that sandwich was pretty massive. It's larger than some of the burgers I've been trying out lately in the area, so you get every bang out of your buck. I got the Beef Bugolgi Shokupan Sandwich, which was bursting with a generous serving of beef and a really large, soft, fluffy scrambled egg, all packed between 2 super thick and pillowy buttery toasted bread. I also got the Pork Belly Bao, which I honestly like better than the sandwich. The bao buns are super fluffy, and the pork belly slices are perfectly thick sliced and flavorful. It's a great menu item to get if you want to share with another person since it comes with 2 servings per order. For dessert, I struggled a bit to pick and choose, haha. Of course I couldn't just pick one, but I am a little proud of myself for only selecting 2 instead of a whole entire box. From the pastry case, I picked the custard donut, which was soft, chewy, and stuffed to bursting with a pudding-like filling. And from the cake case, I got the Raspberry mousse. I couldn't resist that glass-like ruby red skin. But unfortunately, it was too tart for my taste. Was in the UCF area returning something at Amazon and this place popped up. I didn't realize that I was craving an Asian sandwich until I saw the menu and all of a sudden I had to have it. We ordered the bulgogi sandwich, raspberry cinnamon roll and a lychee tea to wash it all down. The sandwich was really flavorful and quite large. It had bulgogi beef, green onions, white onions, cheese and loads of scrambled eggs sandwiched in between 2 large slices of milk bread. It was the brunch sandwich of my wildest dreams. I'm drooling just thinking about it. They also have other different sandwiches to choose from as well but I ordered this one since it caught my eye. They also have a pretty extensive tea and boba menu as well. So if you're on the hunt for some yumminess inside a cutesy little cafe on the east side, definitely check out Shokupan Bakehouse. read more

Ok but this bake house is literally a hidden gem!!! The pastries are super affordable compared to other bake shops. I really enjoyed the custard toast $3.50. But be aware that is can be super addicting!!! Have them toast it for you! My other favorite was the egg tarts, the lightness and crispy edges were so yummy!! one perfect bite or maybe 2! The cinnamon roll was also a good pastry! Just enough sweetest and texture. If you are into the savory side, the ube custard crumb bun was actually a subtle choice, you can taste the ube. Their pistachio iced latte was also delish. Shokupan has been on my list since before they ever even opened, I've even had friends from out of town ask me about it. Very cute, quiet cafe ambiance walking in. Employees were immediately attentive. I was uncertain what to order and perused the glass case for a while. They even had samples out! Ordered two pieces, both were a sweet bread base. Shokupan Bakehouse is a cute little bakery that I would definitely recommend everyone to check out! Not only do they serve pastries, but they had a variety of sandwiches and drinks to choose from. I went on a Sunday morning right when they opened with my husband and a couple friends. There was enough parking as they weren't too busy yet. The inside definitely is along the lines of the current minimal aesthetic that everyone is doing nowadays, which I personally don't mind. It allowed for the space to feel more open despite the limited seating. If there were more people aside from us and the handful of customers that were there, I can imagine it could start feeling cramped. The girls working were nice and brought out our food really quickly. I ordered the Original Shokupan Sandwich with a Lychee Green Tea and Chocolate Croissant to share. My husband ordered the Beef Bulgogi Shokupan Sandwich. Our friends also got the Beef Bulgogi Sandwich, along with the classic Melon Pan and Pork Belly Bao. The sandwiches were stuffed with ingredients and had the perfect amount of sauce to enhance the flavor. The milk bread was perfectly toasted with a nice amount of crunch. I enjoyed the way that the bread wasn't fully cut at the bottom of the sandwich, it prevented the ingredients from spilling out from the bottom while eating. The Lychee Green Tea also had the right amount of sweetness and ice for me. I also enjoyed the amount of chocolate on the chocolate croissant, since it wasn't the typical kind with no topping on top. Orlando-I "accidentally" walked into this place before they opened at 11. The door was open and I just walked right in, but there was nothing to order!! lol Came back a couple of days later AFTER 11. Their cafe is very clean and bright. The case was full of delicious looking goodies and their menu had several tempting entrees! I decided to try a bulgogi beef Shokupan sandwich and a rose slushie with a little sweetness. The sandwich...OUTSTANDING!! The slushie...not great. Way too sweet to even attempt to drink. Especially since I ordered it with very little sweetness. Hesitantly, I took it back and asked her to make it. Otherwise, I would've not been able to drink it at all. I apologized and she gladly remade the drink. Unfortunately, it was worse the second time around. I tossed it and concentrated on the rich and bold deliciousness that was my bulgogi beef Sammie! Stopped by Shokupon for lunch today and had an overall very pleasant time, the inside was peaceful, but a bit sterile, with it being painted white. The service was quick and the workers were nice. The food was very good. Both my friend and I enjoyed our respective sandwiches, especially the flavor of the meet on top. However, the one thing is that their spicy mayo was not really spicy and because of how the bread is, the egg and meat is not evenly distributed. The meat is all on top and the eggs are all at the bottom. Next time, I would probably ask for a side of sauce to dip the end of the sandwich that is all egg in. read more

The interior design was really nice and clean. Since the place is in an outdoor shopping plaza near UCF, there's a good amount of parking, but at times it can be packed. The staff was very nice and it helps that you can order some items via the kiosk and that there's some pictures of the food. The shokupan was really filling! The bread was nice and thick and the ingredients paired together well. The spicy mayo could be a bit spicier, but my friend said it was just right for her. The croissant sandwich wasn't as filling but the fried soft shell crab was really good! It's not something you see on the menu often, so it's definitely a nice treat. The creme brûlée French toast was okay. The fruits and ice cream were really good but in my personal opinion, it would have been nicer if there was more of a brûlée part on the toast. I did a too good to order here. It was a great way to try different items from the menu. The chocolate mousse here is so good. I was able to try a few sweet and savory items. All of which were really good. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area. The service was quick. I was debating on buying a little bit more but my bag had quite a lot of stuff. I would come back here to get there brown sugar toast or anything with the chocolate movie in the croissant. I'm not really a big fan of chocolate so that really says a lot. One of my new favorite spots to visit. So far I have been here multiple times and the sandwiches always are a hit. My favorite so far is the soft shell crab. The spicy tangy sauce that is paired with it makes the perfect balance that cuts through the sweet crossiant. The spicy pork bulgolgi also pairs well with the soft milk bread. All the sandwiches I have had are made fresh to order and piping hot. The area can also serve as a great study area but there are not many outlets. The staff are also very nice and accomodating. They have switched out the types of breads for certain sandwiches and very helpful when I struggled with the kiosk. Though I have not tried the sweet pastries yet I can say that I do like the drinks. Hot damn the Beef Bulgogi Shokupan Egg Sandwich carries a slightly hefty tage of $16, however it is very much worth it! Shokupan is a welcome addition to this foodie strip of wonder near UCF. The space is small and minimalist, but there are a few small tables and free WiFi available of needed. We only ordered bakery items on this trip, but will be back to try their sandwich options. The croissants are light and fluffy on the inside with a wonderful, flaky crisp outer layer. The filling is lightly sweetened and buttery smooth reminiscent of French style desserts. We tried the tiramisu desserts that have a coffee cream on the inside and they were fabulous. There was a kiosk inside, but a sign directed us to order from the attendants. They were sweet and patient as we tried to decide what to try, and gave great recommendations. I had previously came in and ordered the spicy pork bulgogi shokupan sandwich which wasn't very spicy but it was still really good. The next time I came in, I got the softshell crab croissant sandwich which was also really good but I think needs more sauce. When asked what pastries to get, they recommended the cookie croissant. Which was a splendid recommendation especially for a sweet tooth such as myself. This bakehouse is brand new, we went on the first Saturday and the place was busy. All the pastries look delicious so it was hard to choose. We had the French Toast and Chocolate cream bread. The bread was very soft and the warm French toast was just sweet enough. The chocolate bread was very chocolaty with a little bit of cream in the middle. My son has the Pork Belly Egg sandwich that he enjoyed so much he didn't share. We will definitely be back to try more of the breads and other sandwich. read more

There's a touch screen when you walk in where you order the hot items (sandwiches, buns) as well as any drinks. If you want anything from the pastry cases, you order at the counter. My favorite here are the sandwiches! Cute atmosphere, seating, good selection of baked goods.

I ordered the Pork Belly Shokupan Sandwich and the Peach Green Tea. Both were excellent; the Pork Belly was tender and extremely flavorful without being as fatty as pork belly usually is in, say, bao. The Peach Green Tea was also very, very good, although, like always, I question if sweetened fruit-flavored tea is really worth upwards of $7. In the end, it's a restaurant catering to college students, so the price just comes with the (literal) territory. My only real complaint is that the ingredients were not evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. The meat was entirely in the front, whereas the back was mostly egg and lettuce. Because of how the sandwich is presented and structured, I only realized this after I got through the Pork Belly and continued eating what amounted to just an egg sandwich. Based on other reviews, this seems to have only really happened to me, but you might want to open your sandwich to rearrange it, just in case. If the Pork Belly was present throughout the sandwich, it would have been incredible. All that being said, I would definitely recommend Shokupan Bakehouse. read more
