I mean I'm a little bummed I paid, then found out I could have pretty much gotten 2 smoothies for the price of 1... but hey I guess that means I'll be back! I need a go-to smoothie spot and this will do nicely. I ordered the superfood detox smoothie and was a little skeptical because of the fresh ginger, but I will never doubt you again Smoothie Cafe.

I don't know what it's like when it's busy because on the day we arrived, the entire area was a ghost town. Not even sleepy - no cars on the road and this cafe was even still opening. Walk in, order and find a seat. Not a lot of seating but there's both indoors and out. We chose to sit indoors as it was a little warm and I didn't want to be out under the sun. See pics of the food. Wanted salad. I tend to always want salad. Went with the Springfield. Crisp and fresh - really enjoyed the toppings and dressing. Harmony. That's how I'd describe this salad. I'd definitely have it again. Grabbed the Hot Springs. Wanted a cold sandwich. Wanted an Italian. Closest I could find and the vinaigrette was even on the side so I could add as much or as little as I wanted. I remember enjoying this sandwich so much I considered grabbing a second for the road. However, we're traveling and gotta try other foods and places. This would be one place I'd go back to if or when I find myself back in Rapid City. This cafe is connected to the brewery (Hay Camp Brewing). In fact, that's where the restrooms are if you need it.

I really wanted to like this place more, I really, really did. Came here on the last day of our…read moretrip exploring the trifecta of National Parks. After being inundated with burgers, I felt like something a little lighter/healthier was in order. AMBIANCE - just off the main strip of downtown Rapid City you'll find this cafe. Cafe is spacious and clean, and is connected to a brewery where, if you're inclined to do so, they will bring your food over to you while you sit there. The Brewery has board games you can play at your table and a variety of pinball machines. SERVICE - service was....ok. I was asking the guy about one of the toppings on the sandwich and he looked at me like I was an alien. Maybe it was his first day? Not sure. He was nice, but not as knowledgeable as you might like for someone working the register. MENU - they had a pretty good mix of sandwiches (hot and cold), and also had a few sides. I also saw they had some homemade lemonades and such, which I was tempted to try, but did not end up trying instead. FOOD - my wife and mother got the badlands sandwich which had roasted sirloin mushrooms, swiss and and side of horeradish mayo. My mom and I both did the rapid city which kind of seemed like a philly cheesesteak sandwich (grilled beef, onions, peppers, jalapenos, smoked gouda with a lime cilantro), while my kids rocked the pastrami. The sandwiches were a pretty good size (at almost $20 a piece, they better be). My kids thought the pastrami was good and after days of burgers, it was a nice change up. My wife liked her sandwich, which was mostly carried by the horseradish mayo. My mom and I thought our sandwiches were just...ok. The meat needed salt, and the lime cilantro was not very flavorful. I ended up stealing some of my wife's horseradish mayo which helped, but just a bit. OVERALL - good not great. Wish the meat was a little more flavorful and the food came out a bit quicker (there was only one order ahead of us and it took a good 20-30 minutes to get our food). Not sure I'd come back. Everything is fresh and delicious (which makes a difference when you're getting gluten-free baked goods which tend to go stale fast). When we were there, they had just taken Honey-white gluten-free loaves out of the oven and it made this gluten-sensitive girl cry, it was THAT GOOD! It was like REAL bread like I used to eat before the allergies happened! I was so excited, I bought an embarrassing amount of bread and lemon cake and took it to our reunion and no one knew it was gluten-free! Also, it's worth noting that if you have other allergies (dairy/nuts/etc.), the staff is knowledgeable and will steer you right to what you can eat. Seriously, if you are gf & dairy-free, this is where you want to go to get fresh bread products! We were directed here by someone at Breadroot (also an amazing place for those with special dietary needs), and we are so grateful. We were surprised that Nanna's was "at the mall," but it was easy to find and so worth the stop! Worth noting: Nanna's is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but get in there on Wednesdays-Sundays.

My gluten loving husband and I both had hamburgers and he commented how well the GF homemade hamburger bun tasted. It was a great burger. Mine had bacon on it and the bacon was super thick. It seemed to be just as thick as the patty. SO TASTY. . I also ordered a loaf of bread to go and it is a magnificent loaf of gluten-free bread. Close your eyes and imagine the smell of homemade bread along with melted butter on top, Mmmmm, hard to beat. It would almost be worth the move! The person who helped me was extremely helpful. They use a lot of almond flour and I'm allergic to nuts so she helped me find things I could have. Such a WONDERFUL find!

We had such a great meal at Beau's Diner! The Hangover Skillet was delish actually spicy but super flavorful. The Smash Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The pancakes had a really nice flavor, and the French toast was yum. The over-hard egg was amazing and so well made, and the bacon was so good. I had the steak and eggs the steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Froot Loops shake was delish too! The portions were huge, and honestly really nice prices for the amount of food you get. The service was super friendly, and even though the parking lot was packed, the wait was only 10 minutes. The place doesn't look big from outside, but it's actually huge, and so clean. Our waitress was so friendly and nice, and I loved that they asked if I wanted coffee to go I didn't take it, but it was such a sweet gesture. Beau even brought our food to the table himself. Super nice guy, and you can tell how much pride he takes in his business. Highly recommend! Ps...
