After being inundated with burgers, I felt like something a little lighter/healthier was in order. AMBIANCE - just off the main strip of downtown Rapid City you'll find this cafe. Cafe is spacious and clean, and is connected to a brewery where, if you're inclined to do so, they will bring your food over to you while you sit there. The Brewery has board games you can play at your table and a variety of pinball machines. SERVICE - service was....ok. I was asking the guy about one of the toppings on the sandwich and he looked at me like I was an alien. Maybe it was his first day? Not sure. He was nice, but not as knowledgeable as you might like for someone working the register. MENU - they had a pretty good mix of sandwiches (hot and cold), and also had a few sides. I also saw they had some homemade lemonades and such, which I was tempted to try, but did not end up trying instead. FOOD - my wife and mother got the badlands sandwich which had roasted sirloin mushrooms, swiss and and side of horeradish mayo. My mom and I both did the rapid city which kind of seemed like a philly cheesesteak sandwich (grilled beef, onions, peppers, jalapenos, smoked gouda with a lime cilantro), while my kids rocked the pastrami. The sandwiches were a pretty good size (at almost $20 a piece, they better be). My kids thought the pastrami was good and after days of burgers, it was a nice change up. My wife liked her sandwich, which was mostly carried by the horseradish mayo. My mom and I thought our sandwiches were just...ok. The meat needed salt, and the lime cilantro was not very flavorful. I ended up stealing some of my wife's horseradish mayo which helped, but just a bit. OVERALL - good not great. Wish the meat was a little more flavorful and the food came out a bit quicker (there was only one order ahead of us and it took a good 20-30 minutes to get our food). Not sure I'd come back. I expected the cinnamon roll to be the winner but the coffee bun was by far the most outstanding with its cookie butter filling. The lattes were exceptionally delightful with the right amount of espresso kick and the syrups were not too sweet. The quiche was like a slice of cake! Light, flakey, and delish. My breakfast sandwich was unexpectedly wonderful with a toasted brioche bun, egg, sausage and garlic aioli. Bitesized potatoes made the small plate complete. Believe me, you won't be sour from choosing to dine here. You'll be back!

It was fresh, flavorful, and impossible to stop eating. The hot Calabrian salami was equally impressive. It had the bold, savory flavor and gentle heat you'd expect from authentic Calabrian salami, with a rich depth that made it stand out from anything you find at a typical grocery store. You can really tell they prioritize quality ingredients and traditional craftsmanship. This is how arrogance will hurt your career- You will be so convinced that you are right, you will dismiss the opinions and suggestions of others. You will cut people off and push your solution. Even if you end up being right, repeatedly cutting off others is disrespectful and says, "I know best, so don't even bother telling me what you think." Over time, people around you will be quiet.
