Best pizza in town! Everyone was nice and prompt! We didn't eat inside but it looked clean!

For some reason the system is down that we couldn't order online but we really wanted to try this pizza so my husband went in and ordered and brought pizza home. It was so good totally delicious. I don't know what the ambience was but I imagine decent so I will give them five stars based on the fact that we drove to get it brought it home and it tasted gourmet. Thanks Pauly's! Great pizza and even better service! We called in an order for pickup and then had car problems. Called to check to see if we can delay order, it was complete but they said... and let me quote. Upon entering, we were met with a nice seating area. Husbands went to order then came to sit with us. When name was called, my husband went to the wrong end of the counter and was gently directed to the other end. We all ended up being pleasantly surprised at the overall taste of the pizza-- crust was very good! We also found out that the gentleman who took our order and directed my husband to the correct area for pick up was the owner! He came and chatted with our table, mentioning that although he was camping with his family that weekend, he'd seen (through an app in his phone, I assume) that his store was uncharacteristically busy so headed down to help them out! As someone in the foodservice business, that shows some real pride not only in your business but also in your team-- and builds their loyalty! We ate here tonight. Let me tell you, these guys know good food! We only got a delicious pizza that they made fresh right then with all the things we wanted in it, but they also had Rochester root beer! I also have found a local candy that I love, and they had that for sale! That's how I know they know good food!!! We stopped in here to get some sandwiches for lunch in Badlands and we're not disappointed. The kids were STARVING so we got a small pepperoni pizza to hole them over a few hours and the pizza was quite good! So good I wanted to go back for dinner (but got overruled and we went Bokujo ramen, which was also great BTW) We got three sandwiches as all loved them. I always think the bread makes or breaks a sandwich and the white roll was tender and soft. Good meat portions and fresh ingredients. The staff was super sweet as well. I asked if they have cranberry sauce for my turkey sandwich, they did not have it, but what I love if that they actually thought about it and said they had dried cranberries for one of the salads if I wanted. One word, superb! We ordered pick up from Pauly's on a Friday night: said it would be ready in 20 minutes, and it was! It was really busy when I arrived to pick up my food and smelled amazing. The pepperoni pizza, omg. It was good. Thinner style crust, not crispy with plenty of pepperonis and cheese! i hate having to write negative reviews but man... my dad used to work for pizza places and i know bad pizza when i smell it. lemme just say i almost threw up in the car and had all the windows down during my 10 min drive back to our airbnb. the crusts were different even though we got both the same. one was more of a flatbread and the other more fluffy but both chewy in a soggy tough way. the flavor was nonexistent besides the buffalo sauce that came on the side of the buffalo pizza without it was very plain. update: the owner, Brian, reached out to me and refunded our order. He apologized for our experience at his restaurant and assured me that action would be taken with his employees to address this issue. I drove into Rapid City from my camping spot in the Black Hills just to hang out and get a pizza. I researched pizza places in Rapid City and landed on Pauly's based on reviews. I was the only customer when I arrived with only 1 other customer before I departed. The guy behind the counter was pleasant and helpful. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with some extras. The pizza was good, I had the craving so at that point Dominoes might have tasted good. There was an ample serving of meat on the pizza but I should have ordered extra sauce because the pie was dry. I like sauce and cheese on my pizza and although the meat was plentiful, it was lacking enough cheese and sauce. That is not a knock on the restaurant because pizza is made differently at different locales. The place was clean, service was good, prices were fair and the pizza was good. Best New York Style Pizza in Rapid City! Their sandwiches are just as good. We eat at Pauly's every time we visit. A must stop!

A fast casual type pizza shop. We ordered two pies with our group of 4 (and still had more than 6 pieces left over). The 16" pies are a decent size, and so are the slices themselves. We got a pepperoni pie and a half mushroom/half cheese pizza. There is a TON of small mini pepperonis on the pie - fully covers the pizza. Because they're small there is some added crunch to some of them which gives it some texture. Pauly's uses a pager so you know when your food is ready to be picked up at the counter, at least when you're dining inside the restaurant. There are many tables, can choose from those with booths or chairs. Pretty good pizza! read more

Quality has gone down hill. We moved away for a few years and when we moved back, Pauly's was one of the first stops. We have been coming here for years and immediately noticed the quality of food was different. The Gyro pizza didn't have all the ingredients it had in years past, the Hawaiian pizza was nothing special as well. Not a mask in site. Record covid rates and I didn't see any mitigation. No sanitizer or spaced out seating, masks etc. It looks like the business is struggling to stay open IMO. read more

Best subs in Rapid!!! I love this place it reminds me of one of the best subs I've ever had! I haven't tried the pizza yet though I always intend to then I can't move past a sub and always get suckered in to ordering the Italian. The dining room is large and open and always clean same as the open air kitchen no matter how busy I have never seen it untidy or dirty. Pauly's is chain quality pizza, similar to Little Caesars or Papa Murphys take & bake. We ordered a Veggie pizza, well done, light on cheese. The crust is dense and bready, less than a half inch thick. I requested it "well done" but they baked it blonde, with a very small layer of under baked dough... from a low temp oven. I have to give the biggest shout out to Pauly's Pizzeria & Sub Co.! Brian, the owner, took a huge part of his day to personally call me regarding a question I had emailed. He not only address my question, but researched and tested the pizza machine he built to make sure it was running correctly. He sent me pictures of his test pizzas and called me again to go over ingredients of the things I order. Sadly, some of the ingredients on my pizza are corn related (my allergy) and it's been making me sick. Brian AGAIN went out of his way to research his other products to make sure I still had something I could order without getting ill. After reading the reviews I decided to try Pauly's Pizzeria and Sub, I was not disappointed. I placed my order online for takeout, when arrived at the prescribed time my pizza was not ready, so I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. It was a Friday evening and they were quite busy. The staff was very courteous and apologetic that my order was not ready at the prescribed time, but the wait was worth it. We ordered two pizzas (the Big Island Hawaiian and the Deluxe Pizza), as well as we ordered wings (Asian Kick), both the pizza and wings were outstanding. The pizza was hot, fresh and made with a generous amount of toppings and had lots of flavor. The wings were also very good. Pizza was just below average. It like they used cheap food and put parmesan on it. It wasn't bad but the business was really weird. Only dine-in from 11AM-3PM??? I don't know. I will say that basically nobody was eating a pizza when I was there. They were all eating subs.
