The food is always good, but recently the service towards me recently was subpar. I returned my food back because there was a fly in my salad and looked to order something else. I spoke to someone after a few minutes and she gave my food to who appeared to be the manager. They all never once spoke to me once they took the food and left me for awhile and just gave me another salad with no discussion. I'm a TSC addict and when I know there's one around whenever I travel (especially in the Summer months when a huge frozen smoothie treat is sooooo refreshing), I'll usually stop in for my usual go-to combo order that I have never really deviated from because I like it so much: - Thai Chicken Wrap - not heated, cold. It comes as a warm wrap so you have to ask for it not to be heated. - Tropicolada Smoothie - basically a virgin Pīna Colada I've been to this location several times while staying up in Corolla. I now know to get my TSC fix either on the way into or as I leave the OBX as it's conveniently located off the main drag. But I've also just hopped into the car and made the trek to this place while staying in Corolla to satisfy a TSC craving. What's the hardship though? You're on island time. A lazy drive, beautiful scenery along the way, sea breeze and sunshine in your face. What I discovered about heading back up to Corolla from this TSC when I used my GPS is that it takes you back 'the back way' through a super quaint, quiet, lovely area of Southern Shores called Chicahauk. I never would have found this area had I not used my GPS to get back. The cottage style houses are soooo cute; it's like you stepped into an Olde English countryside. Totally worth a drive by. But all to say, another excuse to make that trip to TSC from Corolla or Duck and back. Service is always fast and friendly. Everyone behind the counter works hard - taking orders, blending smoothies, making sandwiches. Have never seen a too-long line - they seem to clear lines out quickly. And the wrap and smoothie - spot on. Consistent with the other TSC locations I've been to. Tasty good. Definitely try the Thai Chicken Wrap - it's refreshing, not too heavy (you feel like you're eating something healthy lol), and the flavor combo is amazing - the cilantro, the fresh greens, the crunchy wonton noodles add a nice crunch factor, and the peanut sauce is just the perfect amount of sweet and salty drizzled all over. The customer service here is awful. They missed one of our sandwiches and when I called to get a refund they were rude and couldn't find the order, even though I gave them order number. Contaminated ice machine. My wife got ice in her cup and found mold in it from the machine. We brought it to the staffs attention. They rinsed out the cup and gave us ice from their smoothie ice. They said we can't really give away cups. Really. A contaminated cup and you just rinse it out? Also, we sat there for nearly 15 minutes while they sat around in thier phones. Fast and friendly! Great variety of smoothies that will be tailored to your interests. Stopped in for lunch this past Saturday. I chose the "Island Combo." For $6.99 (plus tax) I got a smoothie and a half bistro sandwich. Tried the new Strawberry Lemonade smoothie - yummm -- and got the Italian Bistro Sandwich. They accomodated my pickiness and my order was ready quickly. They didn't have Italian dressing so they put Vinagrette on instead and it was a pretty good substitute. I also got a smoothie to-go for my Mom. The really good thing about this smoothies is that though they may be expensive, they're large and they don't melt right away. This was supposed to be a chicken salad wrap. I took it back to complain that there was barely any chicken. The very rude neck tatooed counter girl pointed into the wrap saying "there's a piece of chicken" repeatedly for every little piece of chicken in it. I was looking for something nutritious after spending the weekend in OBX for a wedding. BAM, there was Tropical Smoothie!! It's located in an awful location, on a side road that's near impossible to get in with all of the island traffic so I was forced to do a U-turn and run across the street. Inside it was just what I was seeking. Two HUGE boards of smoothie creations that you could see was actually made with great fruit!!! There was also some options for food, but just came for what the sign proclaimed... SMOOTHIES! I was able to talk with the employee for a bit, and it made several recommendations based upon my favorites of kiwis, strawberries, and bananas. Huge smoothie for under $5. Turns out this was a chain, but was thoroughly impressed with the final product. Would definitely seek this or another location again! read more

I just went here today 1/9/18. I got horrible service the girl at the register had a attitude and acted like she didn't want to serve me but I didn't say anything. And I go to get my food I just paid $20 dollars for and there is a huge long black hair in my flat bread. I took my sandwich up to the counter where I got more attitude. Have always had great service till today. I called in an order at 12:25. They said it would be 15 min. I got here at about that time. At 1:07 I am still here waiting for my food. Many people have come in after me and received their orders and I am still waiting. They also advertise the tropical smoothie app yet you can not use it in the store. Disappointed!! read more

We stayed at the Hilton which is right across the street from here. Ate here one night and it was good, customer service is mediocre. Two nights later we wanted to have dinner here again. It was 8:30pm, and my wife checked their closing time on their website. 9pm is the listed closing time, however when we arrived (maybe 8:35pm) they were closed... Not closing, but closed. That was very frustrating since we checked their website and left the hotel specifically for dinner and smoothies. I would go back for the food and smoothies, but not for the customer service or the frustration of differing operating hours on their website vs. what they actually run. read more

Inexpensive healthy(-ier) food some of which can be made vegan (i.e. without dairy or meat). The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was for the customer service. While the girl at the counter was extremely helpful and accommodating the first time we visited, the second time we went back the customer service was lacking. The veggie hummus wrap without the cheese and without the ranch dressing is delicious & vegan. The avocolado (made vegan) is AWESOME. I will certainly be coming back for more. read more
