We dined here for lunch and there was a line almost out the front door at 12:45pm. You place your order and pay at the counter then get your beverage and then find a seat and someone will bring out your order. The order number is on the receipt so hang onto it at least until your order arrives. In spite of how busy the restaurant was, we managed to find an open table inside. There are also some tables outside in back. It was a bit chilly when we were there so we stayed in. One of the daily specials was the club which I ordered on rye with potato salad. My wife got the chicken Caesar wrap with macaroni salad. Both were very good and a good value.

The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere, and they were getting ready for live music while we were there. We were dining with our young daughter, and once the band had finished setting up, we got the impression they were gently encouraging us to wrap things up. No one was rude about it, but it definitely felt like they preferred not to have a family with a little one there once the music got underway. My husband ordered a burger that he polished off and described simply as, "Good." Coming from him, that's actually a solid endorsement. I ordered the Cuban Reuben. The flavors were good, but I was surprised to find it served on what appeared to be a flour tortilla rather than the flatbread described on the menu. It ended up eating more like a wrap than a sandwich. I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I had ordered fries with my meal but received chips instead. I never checked the receipt to see whether I was charged for the upgrade, but it ended up working out just fine. My husband was convinced they were just really good Lay's chips. I disagreed. We still haven't settled that debate, but we both agreed they were fresh, crunchy, and delicious. My daughter ordered the grilled cheese, and after spending the week on an unofficial Outer Banks grilled cheese tour (because toddlers have priorities), this one landed somewhere around a 5/10. Overall, it was a pleasant meal with a great atmosphere, and I can absolutely see it being a fun place to grab a drink and listen to live music. It just wasn't one of the standout meals from our trip.

We weren't looking for food, but we definitely needed hydration. Using the app we opted for the drive thru. Placing the order on our way here, was a smart move, we just entered the drive thru line first. Pulled up to the kiosk, told them our order number, and just waited. The wait here was not long. It was quite the easy wait. Pulled around, our drinks were ready as we pulled up. Drinks handed to us, order was correct, and we were on our way. One of the quickest stops at a McDonald's I have ever had. The biggest gripe here was access. Sitting right off the main the drag through the area, it can take some time to get in and out of here. Especially during the season. There is a constant flow of traffic and sometimes it might be easy to just turn right and fight your way back down.

We liked Olives so much, we dined here twice in the same week…read more I recently visited the Outer Banks for a week with my wife and we stayed in Manteo. Prior to arriving in town, I had made a reservation for dinner at Olives for later in the week. The day we arrived, after we unpacked and settled into our rental, we decided to take a walk to explore as we were staying in town. We happened to walk past Olives and decided to look at the menu - and that made us want to go there that night as we did not make any plans that evening and didn't want to get back in the car. I spoke with someone at the host stand and made a reservation for us. I figured I could cancel the reservation for later in the week after we had dinner. (Spoiler: We decided to keep the other reservation.) The food and the service were both excellent. The first night, I had the tri-tip souvlaki which was a special and my wife had the chicken souvlaki from the regular menu. We started with an order of the dolmas and they might be my new favorite. We both enjoyed our dinner and a nice booth with a view of the marina. We ordered a piece of the baklava to go. The second visit, we started with the hummus appetizer and I had the Keftedes and my wife ordered the gyro. The keftedes was so delicious with the tomato-based sauce. Luckily I had some pita to dip in that sauce. My wife enjoyed the gyro and I enjoyed the bite I got to try. The restaurant has a few greek wines on their menu but not a lot of selection. The restaurant is on the smaller side but they do have a few tables outside in the courtyard which in the nice weather is a good option and helps with capacity. I do recommend having a reservation, though. Everyone of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Topanga for giving us some great tips on places to visit in the OBX.

I left somewhat disappointed after looking forward to what I hoped would be an authentic Greek…read moredining experience. Unfortunately, the restaurant had already sold out of one of its signature dishes, moussaka, even though the owner had enthusiastically recommended it while speaking with us at our table. The suggested substitute, pastitsio, did not meet expectations. The béchamel layer was sparse and lacked the rich, creamy character that defines the dish, and the ziti pasta appeared to have been overcooked (even for a casserole) during reheating of a pre-prepared serving. One aspect of the meal left me puzzled. Why serve Greek rice alongside a dish that already contains plenty of starch? Greek cuisine offers so many wonderful vegetable accompaniments that would have provided better balance and showcased the flavors of the region, including fasolakia, briam, yemista, gigantes plaki, or kolokithakia tiganita. On the positive side, the staff remained attentive throughout our meal, kept our water glasses full, and genuinely tried to accommodate us. However, they did not seem fully familiar with which menu items were available (wait staff need to check the 86 board before and during service!). Several tables offer pleasant views overlooking the park and wharf, which adds to the atmosphere. I also would have enjoyed seeing more of the classic blue-and-white décor that evokes the charm of a seaside taverna in Greece. Overall, the restaurant has potential, but the execution of the food and the dining experience fell short of the expectations created by the menu and the recommendations.

I woke up...and had a delicious time! The reviews here tell you how great this place is, and well...believe them! I thought for sure it would be over-hyped and not live up to what people write and say, but I will admit to being wrong. First, our server, Krickett, was agreed upon (by my partner and I) to be the best server we have ever had. She was friendly, outgoing, had good recommendations, and an all-around joy. Second, the food! Wow! My partner had a salad...simple enough, right? But no, she was amazed by it. And she is a vegetarian, so she has had a lot of salads over the years. This one blew her away. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. Was it life-changing? No. But it was way better than what a grilled chicken sandwich normally is. It was tender, juicy, with just the right seasoning. I would be a criminal if I didn't mention the bruschetta...get it with the burrata...it is worth it! The crispy bread with balsamic drizzle is good enough with the diced tomato mix, but the cheese gives it a new level. And, I hope you saved room for dessert, because the key lime pie was a mouth explosion.

The restaurant has two distinct dining areas: the front section is first-come first-served bar seating that offers the full menu. The back section, which would be ideal for families, holds about 30 tables, mostly booths, with the hostess stand. We chose to sit at the bar and had a great experience. We started with bruschetta topped with burrata cheese. I ordered the angel hair pasta in a white garlic butter, cream sauce with marinated chicken and grilled vegetables. My husband ordered the special hamburger with Swiss cheese bacon, spinach and mayo with a side of fries. We ended with slices of the key lime pie that didn't disappoint! The food, service, staff and environment were exceptional! We overheard the Server mention that veterans receive complementary meals on Veterans Day, which speaks volumes about how this restaurant supports those who have served. If you are in the Outer Banks- whether you're staying in Kill Devil Hills or nearby- this restaurant is worth the drive and all the hype!

We were the only ones there and everything was clean. They do have dining inside and out, you are given your food as a to-go order no matter what and I like that because once I'm done I can pack up and go. They even offer a doggy meal or a dog treat to go so your fur babies are obviously welcomed. Our food didn't take too long and we ate it outside since it was such a nice day. At one point during our meal a lady steps outside from the side door and asks us how we were doing and if everything was good. We all answered it was and she went back inside with a smile. The burgers (chicken and beef) are large. I did get my burger with a gluten free bun to test their buns out personally. I did think it was too dry sadly, otherwise the burger were have been a 10/10 if I had ordered the regular bun. But if I had to eat gluten free id like to know this about their options. So the burger was a 7/10. My friend got the chicken on regular bun and she loved everything about the flavor, it was just extremely messy and half the burger was on her wrapper. She did say her sandwich was too salty but the salt was perfect on her fries. The fries are cut different, never seen them like that before but they were good. Kids meals were good as well. We did order the fried pickles only to realized they were spears afterwards. They were yummy but I'd prefer them the sliced way. Overall we loved everything. We'll be stopping again for sure.
