I was obsessed. Sigh. Now, I haven't been back in weeks, and I really doubt I will ever go there again. On September 5th, I ordered Apple Pie Paradise with Biscoff® Cookies, Chia Oatmeal Pudding, and a Mango Monsoon™ Smoothie. I was stuck at home, so my order was delivery. I have previously done so with no problem. But this time it was a problem. When my delivery arrived, it was just the pudding. No smoothies. I called the location and told them what happened, and they told me that they had the smoothies and the delivery person had not taken them with him. They told me I could come get them or they could write down somewhere what I paid for and I could grab them any time for free. Here is the issue with that, I ordered delivery so the prices were higher and there was a tip, and all of the surcharges. I paid 10.44 for the apple pie smoothie, 12.89 for the pudding, 10.05 for the mango smoothie, 7.07 for the tip, and 2.58 for the tax. I also used 900 of my points to save five dollars for a total of 40.02. Had I gone to the store and purchased them, it would have been 8.09 for the apple pie smoothie, 9.99 for the pudding, 7.49 for the mango smoothie, 3.00 for the tip, and 2.58 for the tax for a total of 31.15, and were unable to do that, I would be out 900 points and 27.13. So were I able to get to the shop, I would be out 8.87. If I could get there, I would have driven there for the items. So having me drive there wasn't an option and were it, I would be out nearly 9.00. The only other option I was given was to contact the business, so I sent them a message through the website detailing the whole problem and crickets. I never received any message about this. It has been 23 days. Should you choose to purchase from them, know that the customer service (not including the lovely in-store employees) is awful. And if you want to do delivery, do it through a delivery app rather than Tropical Smoothie Cafe's app or website. At least you will get your money back very quickly if there is a problem. read more

Overall decent smoothie bowl! I placed my order on the app and it was ready at the promised time. I loved the toppings of the bowl (fresh strawberries, lots of peanut butter drizzle, goji berries) but the base of the bowl was rather icey and not edible. I would likely try a smoothie next time but overall enjoyed it. read more

Placed an order online, apparently didn't go threw on there end. Totally understand technology can be weird. It was the way the staff acted like I was lying. After inspecting my order confirmation and the email, then accused me of ordering at the wrong location. AFTER READING THE EMAIL OVER AND OVER WHICH SAYS THE LOCATION OF THE ORDER. Wish I could leave zero stars. This place messed up my door dash order then when I called, the Girl who answered named Olivia said they would replace it. Now here it is 2 weeks later and the lady working says they will not honor it since they don't have the receipt. I ordered door dash and still have the receipt. Then she said it was too long ago to replace it. Well I attached a pic of my receipt dated 2 weeks ago, and a pic of one of the wraps they sent me. For years I came here weekly and hadn't had issues, but lately the quality and customer service has gone way down hill. I ordered a wrap with no cheese or dairy, and confirmed with the cashier 3 times as I have an allergy. Flash forward 20 minutes when I get home and open the wrap and it's full of cheese. I won't even go into detail on how it looked, but not appetizing. I immediately called the business and asked for a refund and they refused. They said I could drive back and they'd make me another one, but I'm not driving 40 mins round trip for a wrap. A shame they don't stand behind their products or practice good customer service. My husband and I went here for a quick meal and smoothie. Ordered a chicken wrap to share and two smoothies. Half way threw the wrap I bite in to the wrap and this long black hair gets caught in my teeth. So discussing I was very upset. We approached the front counter and I told and showed the lady what was in my food. I asked her for a refund, she said sorry I can't refund you I can only remake it. I was not happy! Excuse me but if you found a huge black hair in your food would you want to eat after that? My stomach turned. I asked again can I please just have a refund? She refused. It's an earring or part of a necklace or something. The fact that that was in my mouth makes me want to vomit rip out my insides and bathe them in bleach. We got a smoothie there yesterday that tasted like Tuna. When we called they offered to comp us 2 new, free smoothies. Those also tasted like tuna. We go here often enough that I'm not scared away, yet. Their customer service has been pretty bad in the past but they just started hiring new people so it has gone up. I have been to Tropical Smoothie Cafe a few times. They have smoothie choices aplenty, some of which include green veggies, and they have all sorts of add-ins like probiotics and vitamins. It is very similar to Jamba Juice except minus the wheatgrass shots and with a bunch of different wraps and sandwiches. My one qualm on the smoothies is that it is a one-size-fits-all type joint and I would prefer a smoothie that is half the size. Still not bad at about $5 a smoothie. Blue Lagoon Smoothie (blueberry-strawberry-banana): tastes great but the seeds get stuck in your teeth. Peanut Paradise Smoothie (peanut butter-banana-yogurt-protein powder): so far my favorite, but I am not a fan of processed soy/whey protein powder so I sadly don't order this anymore unless I'm feeling naughty. I've had a few other smoothies but I can't remember which ones. It's hard to mess up or go wrong with any smoothie choice, amirite? I've had the Turkey-Bacon-Ranch sandwich and it was good. I'd like to try some of their other wraps, but I normally just grab a smoothie to go. The King Caesar and Hummus Veggie wraps look promising. I wish they had normal whole yogurt as a choice between non-fat, and I wish their fruits were grown organically. I can dream, can't I? read more

Walked in for my first visit to this place because I had a few questions. The menu lists "vegan protein option" on several items. I asked the person at the counter if she could tell me about what type of vegan protein they use and she just kind of shrugged and stated that she did not know, but it was some sort of "fake chicken." I asked what the ingredients were and she shrugged again and said she didn't know. I like to know what I am eating, so didn't feel like this was a strange question. The person then stared at me with her mask under her nose. I should have left, but I was really hungry to so I just ordered the breakfast flatbread as it just had peanut butter as protein. It was okay and the smoothie I got was okay too. It was huge and tasted very watered down - like maybe they used a ton of ice. I also didn't love that it was served in a styrofoam cup. I've worked nearby for 3.5 years, yet I've never actually been to this place until recently. A hidden gem, I'd say! I always assumed they just had smoothie's and, I gotta admit, I usually go to Jamba Juice for my smoothies. A coworker told me they actually have food and I was floored. So we walked there for lunch the other day and HOLY YUM! The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was super tasty and the Blimey Limey smoothie was a perfect compliment. Surprised by so many harsh reviews! I've been twice and have been content both times. Smoothies are tasty; multiple sizes would be nice but they give you an affordable large smoothie. I just went at end of lunch break because I was in a hurry and starving, I ordered the Baja Chicken (vegan version: they have faux chicken from beyond meat, very tasty). Absolutely satisfied, and like that it comes with a side of chips or fruit! They provide employees of my work a small discount as well. Ended at ~$6.50 for a wrap and a banana, seems fair! and there are lacking vegan options that are this tasty in Vancouver so I'm a happy customer! :) Thank you! I can agree customer service did not so much as impress me, but I did not leave offended or disappointed. Certainly, we can all appreciate when customer service leaves us feeling a better mood than when we showed up -- and perhaps this is something they could strive for but that's the case at so many places. I was hungry, and the wife wanted something healthy, so we ended up here instead of pizza. . I had 3 jalapeño chicken tacos. they had little bit of chicken, a slice of bacon, a jalapeño cream cheese sauce and cabbage carrot mix and tomatoes. they were actually pretty tasty, $8.50 for 3 soft shells is a little much but they were good. we also had smoothies to wash it down. I had a rockin raspberry my wife had the avocolada. they are big drinks, one size only. my 1 year old son was with us on this trip and we tries to order the fruit medley from the menu, however the server ( who zoned out and i thought she may have fell asleep) told us they actually don't have the fruit medley anymore.. the floor for some reason was so sticky. like sticky like a cheep movie theater sticky. the place was slow (saturday around 1:30) and could of easily been mopped up by the teenagers they have working here. so, bottom line hit the drive through and stick to a smoothy. if yur hungry like really hungry then why are u thinking about a smoothie anyways? .. read more

*!*WARNING*!* I would give this lovely smoothy joint 5 stars because of the amazing hospitality from the owners and the staff, the cleanliness and the prices but I stumbled over something that I just can't stand behind. They add sugar to their smoothies. This was the killer. And even worse, when you look online or I store for the nutrition guide they only list the fruits and veggies and base that they use. The smoothies are really good but I'd like to mention that the second time I went the three female staff members there were quite rude. When we first came in my sister went to use the bathroom so I wanted to wait for her before ordering. They just stared at me for a couple of minutes without saying anything when finally one of them asked me in a rude tone if I was going to order something (probably thinking we were just there to use the bathroom). I felt very unwelcomed. Such a shame because they really do make good smoothies. But not even really good smoothies can overcome really bad customer service. Ever since the older gentleman who worked there left about a half a year ago (he was great!), there are only young girls who work there that seem (a) irritated 75% of the time, (b) do not like to clean the establishment and (c) promptly deflect any polite customer concern with a ridiculously immature response of "well I don't own this place, it isn't my fault!" or "Come in and talk to the owner if you are unhappy with something, her name is..." Funny, contrary to the usual, when the owner is there everyone is on their best behavior. My advice to the owner: (1) find the one or two employees that really care about doing their job well and enjoy helping the customers and make them the shift managers and have them sit in on new hire interviews, and then clean house with the rest of the folks. (2) for the love of Pete please get your Perka incentive program working. Stop blaming the Perka people for what seems to be a continuous and ongoing issue. If they are really that terrible to work with then you would be better off canning the system altogether and doing a different rewards program, or honestly, maybe not offering one at all. Yes, Rewards systems do have their place in bringing residual business, but customer service and quality food trump any rewards system. And having a Rewards system that never seems to work AND more importantly, bad customer service, is to me, almost the kiss of death to a franchise small business. read more

Finally, a good place for those of us who despise fast food. The smoothies are fantastic, and a great value, (have you priced an Orange Julius lately?). With a sandwich they are $3.00. Warning, they are BIG and make a meal in themselves so consider just having one by itself. Tons of fruit options and you can add or omit whatever ingredient you like. I'm addicted to the Mocha Madness, which is coffee and yogurt. The wraps are tasty and healthy without being boring and its worth it to add the spicy mayo...turkey can only do so much on its own! The wraps are grilled which is a even better. They serve breakfast, wraps, flatbreads, sandwiches and salads. Sadly, the Average price for a wrap and smoothie is about $10.00, which is quite high for a slice or two of turkey and some salad on a tortilla. If their prices were a bit better I could rate this place higher. Not sure they can make it in this economy at these prices. Also, I have seen the friendliness and service slip a bit since opening. Every time we come here (always during hours of course) nobody answers the call box. We've had to drive up to the window, and they still didn't come to the front of the store until we called the store and asked the person who answered if anyone was there. And then they still forgot my boyfriends wrap and we had to drive back through the drive thru again and wait. Mistakes happen, but it's often. We were told the sensor doesn't pick up our oversized truck.....specifically trucks don't work on the sensor supposedly. Which makes no sense considering they are pressure sensors. We also spoke into the speaker each time, not to mention the truck is loud. Not a huge deal, it's a place for teenage workers/young adults, but I won't be going back. I just hope a manager sees this and tightens up his ship a bit. read more
