Every time we come here (always during hours of course) nobody answers the call box. We've had to drive up to the window, and they still didn't come to the front of the store until we called the store and asked the person who answered if anyone was there. And then they still forgot my boyfriends wrap and we had to drive back through the drive thru again and wait. Mistakes happen, but it's often. We were told the sensor doesn't pick up our oversized truck.....specifically trucks don't work on the sensor supposedly. Which makes no sense considering they are pressure sensors. We also spoke into the speaker each time, not to mention the truck is loud. Not a huge deal, it's a place for teenage workers/young adults, but I won't be going back. I just hope a manager sees this and tightens up his ship a bit. read more

Tonight was our fourth visit to this place in the last yr. the first 3 times were at the drive-thru window and we were pleased each time with everything except the price. Service has always been friendly at the drive-thru. Tonight the drive-thru was closed. So we went inside. Their electronics were all down but we had cash so no big deal. However, my smoothie tasted like freezer-burned bananas. Very disappointing. Also, the dining room was very dirty with debris all over the floors and unclean tables. So needless to say out experience tonight wasn't the best. Not sure we will be back for a while. read more

I like the Tropical Smoothie Cafe chain, but this location is a joke. I tried to go on a Saturday night a couple of hours before closing and there was a handmade sign saying that the lobby was closed, only drive-thru was open. It was strange, but I didn't pay it much heed. Bad luck I suppose; maybe they're up to renovations or something, though the place is pretty new so I didn't think it was needed. Flash forward to the next week, Saturday again. I hadn't eaten all day, wanted something healthy and filling. This week, the lobby is open (yay!), the place looks the same, but no big deal. So me and my wife come here to get those flatbread sandwiches, and we're thinking what to get when the person who's sweeping the lobby says that the oven is off. All right, that's weird. It's not broken or anything, so we ask when it's normally shut off. 8PM. It's 7:30. On Saturday. Really, they're so desperate to get closing tasks done they turn off the oven and close the lobby way, way early? Two strikes is enough, I won't be coming back. read more

The 5 of us Wanted a smoothies, showed up at 8:45pm on a Tuesday. Went through the drive thru and no one answered, went to the window and saw two workers in the back and they were continuing to ignore us and the front turned off. We drove to the front and they continued to ignored us. They clearly close at 9:00pm. That's horrible business management and costumer service. read more

Went here for the first time and was sad with the customer service. Girl was rude and wasn't helpful when I asked her what I should try. She seemed annoyed and like I was bothering her by being there. I just picked the first thing that looked good and pulled up to the window. She was clearly having a bad day when she couldn't even look me in the eye when talking. Got my drink and it was not blended well at all. Huge ice chunks and very bitter. I was not about to go back there and deal with that girl so I ended up throwing it away and decided that I will not be returning! :( read more

This is a fantastic place. When their location in Vancouver closed I was so sad and followed them to Portland because I loved their smoothies so much. Now that they're back in vancouver I could not be happier. It's gotten to the point where I am recognized and able to have fun banter and chat with the smoothie baristas and they are all (with the exception of one person) really nice. I have only ever had bad service with this location once, and since I have never seen that employee again. They've also got a great rewards program that is recorded on your phone, so no cards to lose! They also offer a happy hour twice a day during the winter, have student discounts, and send out text coupons. Seriously, Tropical Smoothie is fabulous and has become part of my route to work. The Rockin' Raspberry is my favorite, but anything on their menu is excellent. read more

This place is incredible. The smoothies are always made quickly and the service is INCREDIBLE. There is a man who works here, who's name I cannot recall, who consistently serves me with a smile. He is so kind and friendly, I go back just to chat with him sometimes! The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because sometimes the smoothies aren't made the same way, and don't taste as great as the previous time. Terrible experience both times I've visited. First visit I went inside and wasn't sure what to get I asked the cashier and she said to "get what sounds good" I ended up scanning the menu again and ordered.. after about 10 minutes of sitting in an empty lobby the smoothie finally came out and looked fine then I left and tried it turns out there were ice pieces left in and the smoothie overall didn't taste like what I ordered. I thought I'd give them a second try at the drive thru a few days later. Upon arrival there was no one at the drive thru so I pulled up to the window and waited a couple minutes, I ordered the same smoothie as last time and it seemed like it took another 10 minutes just for a simple order. Definitely not coming back, very rude customer service both times, most of the employees are usually sitting in the back on their phones and always ignoring the drive thru. read more

Worst customer service ever. I've been coming to this place for the last few years. In the past the service was great. Today the right side door was locked and not paying attention like most people I asked if the girl at front knew that the door was locked. She replied, "Yes. I says Please use other door." I smiled and said, "I'm an idiot that can't read." I then asked for the Pumpkin Chai smoothie and she replied there's like 3 different kinds of smoothies. I thought there was a Pumpkin Chai one but I guess I was wrong so I asked for the Pumpkin and then I also ordered the Sunshine which was for me. She commented those were totally different tastes. My family and I signed up for the text message promotion in order to get 99 cent smoothies. After we ordered and pulled up to the window, the young female working grabbed my mom's phone (without asking) and took it inside and shut the window when she was shown the text. Then when she returned the phone and realized that all three of us had individual promotions, without saying anything she slammed the window shut and walked away. Eventually another employee rang us up, but we will not be returning-which is a shame, because the smoothies are pretty good. We're gonna stick with Jamba. read more

I'm writing this review while I am sitting here waiting for my smoothie. The drive-thru is full. And I am the only one inside. I was greeted right away and told them I wasn't ready. When I came in there were only two employees. When I was ready to order a very distraught young lady came to the computer. I asked how she was and she said okay, but that someone had only scheduled two people today. I apologized, ordered my smoothie and assured her I was in no rush. About two minutes later another employee came in and they slowly seem to be getting back on track. Having read other reviews about awful customer service I was prepared to be treated rather poorly. But these three young adults proved me wrong. To whom ever is writing the schedule perhaps get them some more support. And um... where is an adult? All three employees looked to be in high school. Not to discredit them at all, but seriously someone with experience should have been there to help them. And to the owner ... buy those kids a pizza or something. They made you look good. read more

The portions are so small. I got a Thai chicken salad that had 4 small pieces of chicken and the box was more than half empty and then a quinoa bowl that was small. I got a kids meal chicken quesadilla which the girls forgot the chips and drink. The smoothies are always pretty good but I would avoid the food. It's never really busy and it has a drive thru which is nice when you have kids. read more

I absolutely love the low cal options at this place. They serve a better product than Jamba Juice and its more affordable. Easy to eat here when im on a diet! Too bad they closed the mill plain location cause it was closer to my house but its worth driving a little farther. We had a coupon for "Buy one smoothie, get one free of equal or lesser value free." So we ordered two regular smoothies and one kids smoothie. The total seemed high so I asked, "did you make one of the regular smoothies the free one or the kids one?" The girl said, "we have to make the cheapest one free." So I told her to split the order so we can get the most out of our coupon, she just rolled her eyes and made the regular smoothie free, reducing our bill by $3. Then, when we got our smoothies, the kids one was just a huge ball of ice. I will not be returning to this establishment. read more
