Let me start off by saying they barely get a 2 from me. After two very weak visits in a two month period I would not recommend. A real shame because the location is excellent and my kids love TS. Location off of Great Neck and Virginia Beach Blvd is great! They are physically on Great Neck in the Renaissance Shops at the corner of the strip. Parking is very good and the lot was clear of debris on both visits. However just outside their door today was a pile of poop that looked like a pony had paid them a visit. The dining room is spacious, possibly the largest in the area. Tables and floors were clean. The men's restroom was also clean and had proper supplies. The service at the counter was adequate both times and no issues checking out. I also used my rewards app that recently was credited $2 for customer loyalty. On both occasions my daughter ordered a cheese quesadilla to go. The first time we were in the car a mile away when she reported it was roasted, I mean black! If you are packaging it up you would notice it, so horrible quality control. I turned the car around and called to report and have them start a new one. They successfully remade it and was ready when I arrived. Most disturbing barley an apology for my trouble. Today the same scenario except for it was a combo with drink. However, before leaving I had my daughter check her quesadilla. Again it was overdone not as much as the last time but still overdone. I reported the problem and the staff person told me the setting was the issue. Like change the setting people, really! A new one was cranked out fairly quick and my daughter reported in the car that the cheese was not all melted. They also forgot her apple. So back inside with no apology for either issue. Finally my daughter reported her Jetty Punch smoothie did not taste correct. How can this place be a 4 star is really beyond me. There were four-five staff working the location and appears no oversight. Again would not recommend and will not be back. read more

This is probably my favorite Tropical Smoothie out of the local locations. They never get my crazy complicated order wrong or even make so much as a complaint type attitude with me. I've been going to Tropical Smoothie for years now and think I may have a problem. They just do health conscious food right. The location by the Virginia Beach courthouses has a happy hour every weekday morning and all low fat smoothies are 50% off. I have a rotation of either Blimey Limey, Jetty Punch or Tropi-colada. Tropical Smoothie makes great wraps and sandwiches. The veggie wrap and soup of the day are great because somehow they fill you up without reaching a point of no return. You can eat in or take out I decided to try a peanut butter and banana smoothie with an additional protein. The smoothie was super rich and very tasty. You were able to taste both the peanut butter and banana. The prices are very reasonable a medium smoothie averages around $5.00. The prices vary based on the smoothie type and size. Although I didn't order a sandwich I did review the menu and based on the menu the sandwiches sound appetizing and affordable. The restaurant was very clean in appearance with a friendly staff. Of course you don't want to get the wrong one then try your friends and wind up being sad with your selection. That's like a kick to the shins. No one wants that. I went with the peanut paradise smoothie that was recommended to me that included peanut butter bananas mixed in with protein shake powder. It was amazing. I'm a huge fan of the Totally Turkey wrap which consists of turkey, swiss, tomatoes, romaine, light ranch & a garlic herb tortilla! Yes! This location is located in the Renaissance Place plaza and there are plenty of options inside, but if you're looking for something healthy, this is where you'll want to go. The plaza and outside of the restaurant are very clean and it's a rather upscale location in my opinion. I used to get a smoothie called Peaches and Silk or something along those lines. I hit up smoothie places every now and then, but it's hard to find a good one that I like. The smoothies from street fairs in NYC are a bit too icy with not enough fruit, while Jamba Juice doesn't taste as 'natural' to me. So while down here for a long weekend and after a long day of getting drenched by the sun on the beach, my girlfriend and I looked up the closest smoothie shop and drove right over. There was never a long line to order, and it only took us a minute or two to get our smoothie. We got a total of 3 smoothies over the course of a couple of days while we were there, and I have to say that all of them were great. I got the Sunrise Sunset (strawberry, mango, blueberry, and orange) one day, as well as the Acai Berry Blast the other time. These drinks are huge for their price (at least compared to NY); we got a tall 24-ounce bottle for $4.29. They are huge, but unlike other smoothies I've had, they don't stuff you and leave you without any stomach space for eating later on. The fruit flavors are very rich as well. This is definitely a nice stop on the way to the beach (it's not too far from I-264), and it's a cool drink that will keep you refreshed when it's burning outside. read more

I've lived in Hampton Roads for a month and I've been here twice (I do love smoothies so it has that going for it). The advertisement for the Pumpkin, Chai, Pumpkin Chai smoothies made me stop and go in. Let me say that this is usually my location of choice because it's so close to where I work and they are pretty fast with my orders. I walked in this morning with only a little time to get something to eat after my work out and I could clearly tell they were busy with a big order so I stood there trying to be patient. The 2 people at the counter were arguing about what they knew how to do and never once let me know they would help me soon. I made eye contact with both of them more than once and stood there without being helped for maybe 3 or 4 minutes before I just walked out.
