The atmosphere is well done and easily navigable without the hinterland location and over the top glitz at Borgata. Absolutely disgusting stairwells in the parking garage. Pools close at 6pm which is annoying when trying to fit it in after daytime activities. Rooms were clean but room service was not great, though i got a $50 food and beverage credit for the inconvenience. The number one issue I had with this hotel was accessibility and ADA compliance. We requested the havana tower, which is much closer to the parking garage. Instead we were given the chelsea tower clear on the opposite side of the hotel from the parking garage. As a result, my disabled partner and I had to carry our several bags 10 minutes one way to our rooms. There are parking spaces outside of chelsea but they are not owned by the hotel and rely on regular street parking prices. Parking is $15 every time you take the car out, they want you to stay in the hotel. If you never leave the hotel you'll only pay the $15. You can get a voucher from the casino for signing up for rewards that gives you free parking for one exit. read more

This review is solely from my perspective of the businesses and casinos. I have not stayed overnight here unfortunately due to the high number of people that were here during the weekend I arrived. This is one of those casinos in AC that brings the energy. All casinos are the same here but Tropicana for some reason seems to bring in a fun crowd, people with less disputes and better energy overall. This weekend I lost money but I had so much fun that I didn't think too much about the loss. Tropicana has great food, a great view of the beach, perfectly centered on the boardwalk. Even if you're not gambling this is the perfect place to be entertained with your family or on a solo trip. I recommend looking around the entire place because I've been here many times but this time around was my first time really exploring. I enjoyed their Hagen daz, they have a cool sandwich shop around there too and lastly we went to a comedy show in the building. The comedy show was $50 and it was 1/10 but it was so bad that it became a staple memory for us so we are still thankful that we sat through those "jokes". This place is great! Friendly and helpful staff. Got an upgraded room for the fraction of the cost. The adult-only pool is worth checking out. The pool bartender has a nice pour for mixed drinks. Parts of the hotel smells smokey but that is to be expected as there is a smoking casino inside. The room upgrade in the Havana is spacious. We Canceled our reservations for another property in a couple of weeks to come back. So many restaurants to try. So much entertainment...no need to leave! read more

I will say that I love that Tropicana has everything inside it's a casino, hotel, has restaurants, clubs, arcade, imax theatre etc.... We stayed in the new tower the Solana Tower & I loved it. It was very clean. HOWEVER, #1 they have no one that can help we had mad luggage (totally our fault) we know for next time we have to consolidate. That's not a hotel you can be have mad luggage with. The concierge was useless we wanted to take the luggage cart they said no a concierge has to do it. NO concierge in sight. We had to lug it ourselves. Great location in center of Atlantic City. They have valet and self-parking. We did valet. I do not recommend. When we picked up our car is was close to an hour. Absolutely insane. This entire complex is a maze. We were trying to find a restaurant and had to ask 3 different people. Ended up having to go to one elevator to get to the 5th floor of another tower then to another elevator in a completely different tower to go down to that lobby and then through several hallways. You will get lost. Check in gets 10 stars! Super convenient and quick. You aren't waiting. Service was great. We were put in the Salona Tower. There's 2 elevators. That's it. Waited in line for 20 minutes just to get on the elevator to go up to our room. Seems like there's a bank of 4 but only 2 are working. This was super inconvenient. Room itself was good. Spacious and all the things you need. Seems as if it has been updated. There's a huge bathroom with a tub, one sink and toilet. The bed was comfy and a king. There's a TV, chair, and small table. I think there was a fridge but not sure as we didn't use. There was an ironing board as well. Safe too. Overall good accommodations. Nothing fancy. Just what you need. read more

1/5 -- A FILTHY, UNSAFE DISGRACE TO THE CAESARS BRAND I honestly cannot believe Caesars is willing to put its name anywhere near this property. Tropicana Atlantic City was an absolute disaster from the moment we arrived, and this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. We paid for a supposedly NEWLY RENOVATED SOLANA ROOM. Our "newly renovated" room stayed around 80 DEGREES because the air conditioning did not work. We contacted the front desk MULTIPLE TIMES. We were repeatedly told maintenance would come up. Nobody came. We asked to switch rooms. They REFUSED. So apparently Tropicana thinks it is acceptable to charge guests for a hotel room that is nearly 80 degrees, refuse to move them, promise maintenance is coming, and then simply never send anyone. The rest of the property was just as pathetic. Two of the four elevators were broken, so the remaining elevators were constantly jammed with people. At one point the elevator situation became so bad that WE HAD TO WALK DOWN 49 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. And that is where this went from being a terrible hotel to somewhere I genuinely questioned the cleanliness and safety of the property. As we reached the lower floors, the stairwells were disgusting. We saw USED NEEDLES and conditions that made it appear as though people had been sleeping or using drugs in the stairwell. How does a major Atlantic City casino hotel allow an emergency stairwell--the exact place guests may HAVE TO USE when the elevators aren't functioning--to get into that condition? Think about that: broken elevators forced hotel guests into a stairwell where we encountered used needles. That alone should be completely unacceptable to hotel management and Caesars. Need ice? Good luck. The ice machines we tried on multiple floors DIDN'T WORK either. Then there was parking. I arrived in a dually pickup and was informed that I couldn't park my truck on the property. No reasonable accommodation. No attempt to help make up for the inconvenience. Basically, "not our problem." That phrase pretty much sums up the attitude of this entire property: NOT OUR PROBLEM. No AC? Not their problem. 80-degree room? Not their problem. Maintenance never shows? Not their problem. Want another room? No. Broken elevators? Deal with it. Walk down 49 floors? Apparently that's acceptable. Used needles in the stairwell? Apparently guests get to discover those themselves. Ice machines don't work? Add it to the list. Can't park your vehicle? Figure it out yourself. The entire hotel felt dirty, neglected, overcrowded and poorly managed. The staff we dealt with were rude and dismissive, and there seemed to be absolutely ZERO urgency to correct legitimate guest complaints. Calling a room "newly renovated" means absolutely nothing when you can't even provide functioning AIR CONDITIONING. This isn't some bargain roadside motel. This is a massive Atlantic City casino resort carrying the Tropicana and Caesars names. Guests should not have to repeatedly beg the front desk for basic necessities like a functioning AC, working elevators, ice, cleanliness and a safe way to get out of their hotel tower. CAESARS SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED. Tropicana doesn't just fall below the standard I expect from Caesars--it makes the Caesars brand itself look bad. If you're considering staying here, my recommendation is simple: STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. There are too many hotels and casinos in Atlantic City to spend your money at a property that treats paying guests this poorly. I wouldn't stay at Tropicana Atlantic City again if the room were free. read more

The reviews for the Tropicana are certainly a mixed can of worms. Our experience for our 2 night stay was positive. We had rooms in the South tower on the 20th floor. Due to a reservation mix-up we had different rooms for both nights. We got lucky, because both the rooms we were given were huge and had ocean and bay views. We were at a conference with other friends and everyone else's rooms were half the size of ours. The Tropicana is vast and a city unto itself. There are several towers (South, North, Havana, and Chelsea). The Chelsea appears to be the older side of the building and a maze to get to. My recommendation is if you can get a room in the South Tower on an upper level, you shouldn't be disappointed. There are many restaurants, eateries, and bars all within the Tropicana. We actually had all our meals right on the property. There was plenty of entertainment from live bands to dueling pianos. All within the walls of the Tropicana. read more

Starts with Tropicana has a good variety of food and entertainment. It ends with elevators are the worst we've ever encountered. 15 minutes to take an elevator after check in to get to your room. Finally got to our room Chelsea tower. Bathroom are a bug with me they should be spotless. However this was nowhere near. Mold in shower, there was a layer of dust on hinges that must of never been wiped off. Only 2 bath towels , no floor towel for front of shower . I tried to call house keeping absolutely no answer 20 on the phone. I don't know how they are getting a rating of over 7 that's a joke. This entire place should be power washed. Did I mention that desk counter staff are miserable. Make sure you bring wipeys to disinfect phone, remote, toilet handle, and anything else you plan on touching. We stayed at the Tropicana Hotel AC from July 21 - 25 and it was the worst hotel experience I've had in years. Two days with NO hot water and my calls were just bounced between the front desk and facilities. I was on hold for an hour and finally gave up. The Chelsea Tower looks like it hasn't been renovated in decades and the smell of pot was everywhere. My recommendation - if you must visit Atlantic City pick any other hotel for your stay. Update - I called Caesars customer care, waited on line for at least a half hour, only to receive a $63 reimbursement for two days of cold showers. Still a one star review in my book. read more

Dear Hotel Management/Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally request a full refund for my recent stay due to a series of highly unacceptable service failures and safety issues. My husband and I chose to book a room at the Tropicana to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Upon arrival, I had to wait an hour just to check in. The first room I was assigned, located in the Solana tower, had a completely non-functioning air conditioning system. The room was extremely hot to the point where it was difficult to breathe, and I noted that multiple other guests were experiencing the exact same issue. When I went to the front desk to report this, my room was changed. I had to return to the original room to collect my belongings and move to the new room in the North tower, only to find that the keys did not work. I was forced to return to the front desk yet again, at which point my room was switched for a third time, this time to the South tower. By the time I was finally able to get into this final room, it was around 3:30 AM. By the time we actually went to bed was a little after 4am. Shockingly, at 5:00 AM, the fire alarm went off, requiring an immediate evacuation. After walking down 17 flights of stairs, guests were informed that the alarm was a mistake and that we could go back to bed. Given the extreme lack of comfort, the multiple room changes, the non-functional keys, and the severe sleep deprivation caused by the false fire evacuation, my stay was entirely ruined. I expect a full refund for these troubles, or alternatively, a free night on the house. I look forward to your prompt response regarding this matter. read more

I've stayed at The Tropicana AC multiple times. And although Tropicana is a bit far from the main boardwalk, it makes up for it with a variety of things-to-do. The Tropicana has multiple restaurants and bars with music and pregame spots like Wet Willie's for a quick to-go drink. Perhaps best of all, it has many solid nightclubs with music ranging from top current pop hits to 70s throwbacks. A little bird told me it's very easy to pickup singles at these spots. Price wise, you can often catch bargains for rooms. They are generally clean and comfy if you pay a bit more and choose a renovated tower - Solana Tower in the west wing or the South Tower. On the otherhand, drinks tend to be a bit pricey at the bars and pop clubs. So, I highly recommend pregaming in your room before you head out. Overall, Tropicana is on the top of my list of AC spots when I'm not interested in cruising the boardwalk. read more

I come Tropicana to eat drink and play. I feel very comfortable as safe while on the casino floor. They have so many excellent Restaurants to choose from PF Changs, Carmines, Cuba Libre and Wild honey just to name a few. They also have a IMAX theater for all your movie needs. This review will focus mostly on the other amenities portion of the resort. This resort, unlike some of its sister locations, has so much more to do and offer. That is the whole reason I had come here in the first place, I wanted choices of things to do and places to eat. Tropicana is an immense resort complex, quite possibly the longest one on the boardwalk...at least at this end. Typical casino features on the floor, but I bypassed this and made my way towards the entertainment portions. Which includes the shops and restaurants. They have a good variety of places to dine at different price points which some locations are lacking in. They also have a great variety of places to shop. The theming in here hits the mark and continues into all areas. Maybe, if I ever come back to AC, this might be where I stay. read more

I booked a one night for me and my wife overnight into valentines day. We stayed at the South Tower. It was not a good stay. It was one of those trips where almost everything was just awful. I do not understand the positive reviews of this place. I booked a penthouse sweet. It wasn't awfully expensive at $350 as the photos online looked like a nice room. When we got there, the check in process was ridiculous. There was no staff at the counter, it was closed. So we had to do kiosk check in. It couldn't find our reservation. I spent 10 minutes doing it over and over again until someone walked by and said "oh, that one is not working, try a different one". Next one worked, and I was hit was an additional $189!!! Not wanting to look like a cheapo on valentines day i just paid it. No idea what it was even for. We walked like 1mile (literally) across the entire complex, through the casino, over the sky bridge to our hotel. Elevators are so old and dingy. We get to the room and its a dump. I'm supposed to walk a mile back to an empty desk to complain? It was Motel6 quality at best. Couldn't wait to go eat. The bright spot of the trip was the food at Chickie and Petes, that was good. Time to gamble....maybe not....the casino was DISGUSTING. There were cigarette trays filled butts everywhere, i don't even think they have a non-smoking section anymore, and if they did, the exhaust fans must not be working because the whole place smells like cigarettes. Empty bottles, cups, trash, all around the machines. And the tables... just as bad. And forget about getting a drink, in 4 hours of play time, we saw servers twice. What a joke. And it was not overly busy, only about half the tables were open. Went back to our room, slept fine, except for the thermostats don't work so you better not care about what temperature you sleep in at night. Checkout day, we had breakfast at Casa Tequila. Best breakfast in AC for sure. Check it out, you'll love it. Time to leave the room and we have 30 minutes before check out. And guess what - 3 of the 4 the elevators aren't working. We waited 20 minutes and since everyone is trying to leave, the one elevator is all jammed up. I'll be damned if they are going to hit me with a late fee so there I go running down 20 flights of a urine smelling, graffiti filled stairwell (don't take your kids in there unless you want to explain to them what the yellow puddles are and what all the sharpie drawn words and pictures mean) and back across the whole complex to check out in time. To add insult to injury, they hit me with a #30 PARKING FEE!!!! I'll obviously never return here. The Tropicana and Atlantic City as a whole is now a dilapidated trash filled dumpster of a town with hookers and empty lots and blown out buildings everywhere. read more

This was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I would give zero stars if I could. The staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. When we were locked out of our room, they told us security had been called. They never actually called anyone, so we sat outside our room for over an hour waiting for help that was never coming. The problems continued at checkout. We were told we weren't allowed to use the luggage carts because guests "can't touch their equipment," then had to wait nearly two hours for bell services. When we tried to arrange bell service at the desk, they refused to help us in person and made us go back to our room just to call. Because of their delays, they then charged us a late checkout fee--even though we had started the checkout process before the deadline. At this point, an employee Rabiya literally put their hand in my face and shooed me away instead of trying to help. Valet was another nightmare. Expect to wait around 45 minutes just to get your car. The rooms have paper-thin walls, so you can hear conversations and noise from neighboring rooms all night. On top of that, people were repeatedly approaching guests asking for money at the entrances, and I never saw security do anything to address it. Between the rude staff, poor communication, excessive wait times, unnecessary fees, and overall lack of customer service, this was an incredibly frustrating stay. I would never stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

What everyone is saying about the elevators is accurate. We got on the elevator one day and jarred us so bad it went from floor four to the casino level in one second. I have been in casinos all over the country and can always count on them to have a clean bathroom, but not at the Tropicana. They are the dirtiest bathrooms that I have ever seen in a casino. I am staying at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, and this morning, around 5:00 a.m., the fire alarm went off in our tower (the South Tower); we are on the 15th floor and came here for my daughter's dance competition. I understand if it had been a real emergency, but when we finally reached the lobby--after waiting 15 to 20 minutes to find out what was happening--one of your employees came out, said it was a drill, and asked us to return to our rooms. When I went to the front desk to complain, the manager on duty was rude; he claimed it was an emergency but didn't even know what kind, and he downplayed the matter by simply offering a food credit for our room (1589). It's not about that; it's about the principle and the lack of courtesy. It is worth noting that our family experienced a real house fire last year, and my daughters suffered from severe post-traumatic stress. Not to mention that my husband had to help a father from our team--who is staying on the same floor--get downstairs, as he cannot walk due to an injury and uses a wheelchair. This has been, by far, the most horrible experience we have had as a family while staying in hotels for our daughters' dance competitions. I would like to add something I didn't mention earlier or at the front desk this morning: my husband went out from the lobby toward the parking area to see if fire trucks or emergency personnel were arriving, but he saw nothing; he only encountered another employee who had no idea what was going on. I intend to report this incident to the local fire inspector because this is totally unacceptable. To top it off, your customer service manager was rude and showed total indifference to the situation; the fact that he took the matter so lightly and offered my family and me only $60 is deeply insulting. My stay at Tropicana in the summer of 2024 was absolutely horrible! I sent two emails about my issues and was told that it would be reviewed by management after my second email, and no one hasn't replied still after almost two years. The hotel is good to just visit the sites and attractions but as far as staying overnight? I wouldn't recommend it. They ended up giving me a smoking room and I'm asthmatic because they overbooked. Also, about ten minutes ago, I told my issue to a live agent and was told that in order to speak to an Email Consultant who would call me to discuss my issue further, I had to pay a $5 reimbursement fee.......until the disclaimer says that I'd also be paying a $65 membership fee! REALLY?!!!!! This some straight up BS! If anyone else had an issue during the time that I was there (or in general), please let me know. Thank you! read more

I'm going to be honest -- I probably shouldn't have expected a really nice hotel experience at the Tropicana. The whole place felt dingy and very outdated. While the rooms were clean and spacious, they were extremely old-fashioned and felt more like a two-star hotel. The casino was packed with people, so it's definitely a popular spot, but personally, I wouldn't come back. Just not the kind of vibe or quality I was hoping for. read more

BUYER BEWARE! My wife and I were given a Ceasars gift card for our anniversary by our children. At the time of purchase my daughter confirmed that it could be used to pay our room bill at the Tropicana and was told that we could use it upon check out. My wife called before we went and they confirmed once again that the card could be used upon check out to pay the bill. When we checked in we spoke to Kyle at the front desk who advised us to charge any incidentals to the room and we could use the gift card to pay the bill upon check out. Upon check out they would not accept the gift card and we had to use a credit card , we even spoke to the manager on duty. Now we are stuck with a $450 gift card that is useless to us. The misinformation they gave us regarding the use of the card is beyond belief. read more

Huge casino resort in Atlantic City. Sadly Atlantic City itself is not the place he used to be but inside the casino is fine. A lot to do there, restaurants stores, bars, karaoke, nightclubs, IMAX theater, and of course the casino. It's one of the older casinos so it has a little bit of wear and tear about the place, but other than that the place is fine. read more
