I enjoyed the clean pool, and hot tub to unwind after a long day of exploring. I really appreciated the willingness to help when the refrigerator wasn't working. The front desk quickly sent someone to fix the fridge, and he carried the entire new fridge up to the room to discover that it simply hasn't been turned on. There were a few issues I came across, the shower never got hotter than lukewarm which was a bummer. Soundproofing was another, I could hear everything from water running through the walls, metal clanking from the floor above, constant hums from appliances. I stayed for 2 nights and I felt quite restless despite the bed and pillows being incredibly comfortable. Despite the issues, I still found it a comfortable stay and it was very convenient to explore the SGV area.

Unfortunately, we were treated very poorly by a member of the security staff. He informed us that the lobby was not associated with the restaurant and that we were not allowed to remain there. I understand that the hotel may have policies regarding the use of the lobby, and I respect those rules. However, what was disappointing was the way the message was delivered. The security staff spoke to us in a harsh and unwelcoming tone, making us feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than potential guests. Hospitality is not only about enforcing policies--it is also about treating people with courtesy and respect. When your guests include elderly individuals, a little patience and kindness can make a significant difference. There are many professional and respectful ways to explain hotel policies without making people feel unwelcome. I hope hotel management will provide additional customer service training to its security staff so that future visitors receive the level of hospitality that guests should reasonably expect from a hotel.

I'm praying one day they come back. The convention was held at the Sheraton San Gabriel which was the perfect size for a smaller con without being too crowded and without being too oversized. There's free parking if you're okay walking from the 99 Ranch Market plaza or if you find it in the close by residential area. Looks nice inside, the panel rooms were smaller, but accommodate the smaller attendee population too. Internet connection for the event was fine. Acoustics in the ballroom and panel rooms, along with AV set up was good. Lobby area and some just standard hotel backdrop were perfect for photos. Love that it's walking distance from lots of delicious food options. Staff were friendly and venue was nice and clean. Restrooms were clean each and every time.

Overall the hotel is definitely clean and I guess that's why people have bigger events there. We didn't opt for room cleaning but the staff were responsive when we needed more towels or toilet paper, etc. Instead of the $20-24 for parking, we decided to park in the neighborhood. If you go to the San Gabriel Police Station, you must pay for a permit to park overnight, you register by your license plate. We were able to find residential street parking close to the hotel. We had lounge access on the 6th Floor, which was nice to have a place to hang out and grab some drinks and snacks. They breakfast and afternoon Hors d'oeuvres were ok, the hot items seems like stuff they can easily heat up, but not bad. The best thing is they have a self-serve coffee machine which was pretty good. The reason I'm not giving the place 5 stars are issues that others have reviewed about the wifi and tv connectivity. We opted for the "enhanced wifi" which was included because of my wife's Bonvoy status and it still seemed to lag at times, and there were times she or I had to shift to hotspots in order to take Zoom Meetings. The tv was also lagging and I reset it myself (unplugging and replugging some of the cords), but the wifi even when I told the front desk, they said they were working on it, but it didn't seem to get that much better. It is a decent sized hotel, but if you're planning to do business while you're there, I hope they improve that part.

One-Star Restaurant at a Five-Star Hotel…read more We had lunch at The Terrace at the Langham on Labor Day. The restaurant is down near the pool, and the setting is exactly what you would expect from the Langham: polished, and upscale. The hotel itself is beautiful, and walking through the property always feels special. Unfortunately, the meal did not live up to the surroundings. The menu had regular entrée options starting around $30, along with a $72 buffet. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant appeared well staffed, but things went downhill from there. We ordered coffee, mimosas, and the hummus trio. After a long wait, none of it had arrived. We finally flagged down our waiter, who seemed unaware that we had ordered anything. Apparently, the first waiter had taken our order before going on break and never passed it along to the next server. When the drinks finally arrived, the coffee was lukewarm. We sent it back, and the replacement was only slightly hotter. Not a great start and certainly not what you expect from the Langham. The hummus trio was also disappointing. It came with a thick fried flatbread that was hard, dry, and unpleasant to eat. It had a rough texture that reminded me more of cardboard than pita. My wife ordered the buffet, which had a carving station with smoked brisket and roughly 10 to 15 hot dishes. Most of the hot dishes were dairy-heavy, so she could not try many of them. She did have the soup, brisket, and fruit, but none were good. The soup did not look appetizing, the fruit was underripe and not sweet, and the brisket was probably the driest brisket I have ever seen. It was also underseasoned. I was already skeptical about brisket sitting under a heat lamp. BBQ restaurants store their briskets wrapped in butcher paper and sitting in warming ovens around 150 so they don't dry out. The executive allowed his staff to store the brisket on the carveing board under a heat lamp and what we got was extremely dry bland uneditable brisket. I ordered the branzino, which was probably the best thing we had. The fish was moist, and there were a few crisp bits on the outside. It was fine, but for the price and location, it was not particularly memorable. Dessert was another miss. The rest of the table ordered sorbet, while I ordered the mango sticky rice. What arrived looked like half of a coconut with a chocolate shell and a white filling. I assume the filling was meant to be sticky rice and coconut milk, but it tasted more like an Almond Joy than mango sticky rice. This version was not good and should not be called mango sticky rice. Great location, poor execution and quality. I am sorry but I expected so much more from the beloved Langham.

After going through a very stressful situation with a previous stay that led to my son having medical issues, my family and I came here exhausted and overwhelmed. From the moment we walked in, Emily at the front desk showed us nothing but kindness, professionalism, and understanding. She made the check-in process smooth and welcomed us without hesitation. I've stayed at many places over the years--Marriott, Embassy Suites, even high-end casino resorts back home in San Diego--and I can honestly say this place stands right there with them. The cleanliness, the comfort, the atmosphere... it truly exceeded expectations, especially for the value. This experience reminded me not to judge a place from the outside. What matters is how you're treated and how a place makes you feel--and this team made my family feel safe, comfortable, and cared for when we needed it the most. To Emily, and the manager, and the entire staff--thank you. What you did for my family means more than words can express. -- Snowden, LLC
