The hotel is relatively new and has some unique features. The lobby has a lot of open seating, games, and a free pool table that is surprisingly level. There is also water, cold brew coffee, hot coffee, and tea available all day. There is breakfast that varies each day with a couple of hot items, always a pancake maker, and cereal/oatmeal. The actual hotel room is very minimalist. Hard floors throughout, open shelves and a bar to hang your clothes. There is a small dorm size fridge, but no microwave. Shower is a walk in and no tub. Complimentary shampoo, soap, and conditioner are large squeeze tubes mounted to the wall. My room was mostly clean but did have some obvious wear even though it's not that old. Overall, it was quiet and I slept great. Negatives - workout room has two treadmills and an exercise bike and a variety of balls and weight benches. But no weights! There were three medicine balls, three different sized kettle bells, and a two pound dumbbell. If you are looking for more than just cardio options, stay somewhere else. There are no nice restaurants within walking distance of this hotel (when it is 110 out) as of when I stayed there. There is a really nice looking White Castle and QuickTrip gas station next door, but everything else was a few blocks away. Oddities/tips They give you a parking pass and tell you to park around back. The pass says they charge $10/day for parking but I didn't get charged. This hotel has tons of parking around it so no idea why they would charge for parking. They don't have a pool per their website and don't tell you when you check in, but my key worked to access the pool next to the hotel! I wouldn't stay here if I wanted to be guaranteed a pool but it's worth trying if you decide you want to go for a swim! The pool is fairly small so maybe during peak use periods, Tru guests wouldn't have access. Overall I am not sure I would stay here again unless I thought the "game room" lobby would be handy like if I was traveling with a group of families or friends who wanted a place to hangout. Try by Hilton is what you get when you put Hilton, IKEA, and a millennial in a room together! I was actually pretty impressed overall. Our room is minimalist (except for the nice 50" Samsung tv) but very functional. Lots of positive thinking everywhere--from the elevator to the soap dispensers. We were definitely the oldest people in the hotel--everyone else looked like 20's and 30's. Breakfast is pretty standard--oatmeal, eggs, sausage, cereal, juice, fruit, and coffee. Floors are vinyl tile. Bed is very comfortable. Shower is good. Tv--excellent! Highly recommended, unless you're looking for luxury. We paid about $100/night. read more

Very poor experience. The hotel had no hot water, which was not communicated at check-in. I had an event within the hour and pre-arranged transportation, so I had no choice but to leave and book another hotel. Management denied a refund and offered an inappropriate resolution that required switching hotels twice, even after I explained I would be staying out most of the night and not return until almost 6am they still wanted me to play musical chairs between the hotels. I am staying here as this is the hotel that was assigned to my kid's team for a soccer tournament. The staff is friendly which is why they get two stars otherwise it would be one. Starting with the lobby- the front desk is cluttered. Amazon packages, boxes.... It wouldn't be hard to clean it up! The theme was f Cleanliness extends to the rooms. I checked in but had to change rooms because the bathroom was dirty. The floor In my new room is sticky. Brand new property adjacent to I-10 westbound (also next door to a nearly completed Marriott Springhill Suites) that is also 1 mile from the Pebble Creek shopping area. Excellent customer service during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a decent array of breakfast items consistent with most Tru properties (cereal, muffins, bagels, fruits, hot coffee & water, and a juice machine). As of this writing, there aren't any hot breakfast items such aa eggs, sausage, ham, etc due to the pandemic. Yet consider yourself lucky in getting any breakfast items at all (unlike California properties). The bedroom area (like that of the front lobby with its pool table and fashionable seating areas) is a work of art with decor that is pleasing to the eye. The bathroom has a stand-up shower only (no tub), while the rest of the room is complete with a mounted flat screen television, and mini refrigerator. Keep in mind that there aren't any closet spaces in any Tru property, so you'll have to make do by placing your belongings on mounted wall hooks and small bench areas. Desk seating is so-so with its comfort level. Parking is primarily in the rear of the building. There are five parking spaces in the front, yet two are designated for handicapped patrons. The other three are reserved for Hilton Diamond members. With regard to amenities, there is a fitness center here. The running joke with this property is to enjoy the outdoor pool (one doesn't exist). I'm not certain if there is an indoor one, yet I doubt it. The city of Phoenix is roughly 10-12 minutes away eastbound. Downtown is obviously further (15-18 miles from I-10). Nonetheless, the Goodyear/Avondale/Pebble Creek area that surrounds this Tru property has quite a bit to offer. Welcome to Goodyear. read more

Phoenix weekend getaway! Decided on this location out of convenience. Bad decision! Didn't notice the parking permit in key card. Went to counter and asked associate Cynthia if I needed a different sticker (because I parked in the Diamond member spot) her reply to me was "it doesn't matter whether you are Diamond or Titanium you need the sticker"! Such disrespect.....ESPECIALLY since Diamond is their highest member honor. I also asked her about the food and beverage credit for Diamond members. She stated she didn't "think" it was offered. I wanted her to KNOW... she said it wasn't offered @ the smaller properties and proceeded to tell me "I should know... since I was staying under friends and family" I stated my status wasn't accrued by friends and family use... Went to the front desk asked for a new room. He wanted nothing to do with my photos and claimed that they are completely booked and full. I would leave at 3:30am and return at 4pm or later. Was tired. When I would leave for work they would have all the coffee pulled. No coffee maker or microwave in your rooms. Each night they were not willing to change me rooms. Was there for seven days. Got super sick from the mold. Was super nasty. Complete nightmare stay. This visit was for work or I would of switched hotels. No laundry facilities for guest either. Upon checking out I was informing the front desk (finally a new worker) I showed him my pictures and he said nasty. Why didn't you ask to switch get new bedding and all the works. Not gonna lie.... Initially walking in, was not impressed at all. The rooms are pretty small and it is like a laminate floor and just didn't *feel* clean. I think part of that is that these floors you will feel every bit of dust and dirt, as opposed to carpet. I was here for three nights for a work conference. There is a small "hot breakfast", with oatmeal, cereals, chicken sausage, overhard eggs, bagels, pastries, and coffee. The oatmeal was a perfect grab and go situation for me and what I had every morning. There is a communal water fill station in the lobby and ice machine with buckets there. This was not inconvenient for me because I would fill my reusable thermos with ice on the way in and on the way out and was all I needed. There is also a microwave in the lobby for use if needed. The rooms have a mini fridge, which held my water and leftovers from meals. The bed was comfy enough. I brought my own head pillow but used their pillow between my legs and they were great. The blinds made the room DARK which is my preference. The less light the better. Shower has a "shave ledge" but could use something higher for personal toiletries. They have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to the wall (and soap and lotion at the sink). This is nice for some, but I bring my own and need a ledge to store them in the shower. My favorite thing about the room is that the ac STAYED ON. I sleep with a room ac at home and need some sort of white noise to sleep or any little sound will wake me up. This stayed on and drowned all that out, while keeping the room cool enough for me to sleep through the night and not wake up randomly in a sweat (it was 100 high and 72 low this week). Overall, would probably stay here again, in the same room, if I'm back here for work again. read more

I stayed here for a work trip (wish it was the Marriott next door) the rooms are very small and let me tell you how thin the walls are...I was here for a total of 4 nights and for 3 of the nights I slept horribly! Why you may be asking? Because the room next to mine the person in the other room was snoring soooooo loud every night it was not easy to get to sleep and had to take a sleeping pill and wear earplugs SMH...they offer free breakfast daily from 6am to 9am and my advice? Just get some of the fruit and maybe a bagel with cream cheese or cereal because they have eggs everyday (not tasty at all) and for 2 days it was sausage Patty's, and the 3rd day bacon which for the meat it looked like it was cooked in the microwave and the bacon? It looked unable to eat since it really didn't even looked cooked...they could put more effort into it...invest in an air fryer! It does wonders ;) read more

We checked in late and found one bed was missing a comforter. I wiped the room down with alcohol due to covid and the surfaces were filthy! When I wiped the bottom shelf of the bench, there were tons of dust bunnies and literally an inch of dust piled up; looked like it had never been cleaned-ever. The air conditioning vents had tons of dust caked inside. This place is pretty new! Wth?? I decided to wipe the floor because of how dirty the surfaces were, and the rags were disgusting. See attached pics. I'd be shocked if this place has ever been cleaned. Disgraceful during a pandemic. At this point I had zero faith that our sheets had been changed so I called down to the front desk to ask for a change of sheets for us to make the beds. The girl at the desk was nice. But she could only find one fitted sheet and didn't know how to fold them; gave them to us out of the drier, bunched up. Also, no microwave in the room and no coffee maker. Boo. Editing this review after changing the sheets... we took the sheets off and found a small blood stain on the mattress pad (see picture) so we decided to remove the mattress pad and found a huge urine stain on the mattress (see picture). So my husband was flipping a mattress at 2am, exhausted, having to work in the morning. So disgusted with the place. And the pillows smelled really bad so we slept without them. Tru off of Bullard Rd in Goodyear, Arizona is definitely a place I would never re-visit read on to find out why you should look elsewhere. My stay was during the Memorial Day weekend. I drove throughout the night. 10 hours to be exact and arrived at Tru by Hilton approx 11am. Upon enter the building, no-one was at the front desk. I waited and finally was told I'd have to wait to have my room vacant because someone was staying there. The staff double checked an stated they made a mistake, my room was already empty but needed to be cleaned and advised me to return at check-in time. When I entered the room the first thing I did was turn the Air conditioning unit on because it was hot and the sun beamed straight into the window. I heard a noise and looked over only to noticed crackers crammed into the air conditioner vent and lots of crumbs/dirt/dust on the floor in various places of the room as well as smudges on the mirrors so I called hotel staff and I got switched to another room. Unfortunately the same scenario played out, minus the crackers in vents nor smudges on the mirrors, however crumbs along the floors seemed like a trend at this hotel. I also noticed smudges on the walls and rust in mini refrigerator when I added my bottle waters. Sadly I also noticed someone left their hair behind and the staff member came in to wipe away a portion of the crumbs and grabbed the hair. He apologized because they were short staffed. The towels were so scratchy and the pillows were old and lumpy which was extremely uncomfortable. To make matters worse, on one occasion of taking the elevator up to my room, the floors leading to the elevator as well as the elevator floors were wet as if someone spilled a large cup of liquid in the elevator and the drink continued to drip/spill on the floors leading to the hall carpet. I absolutely wouldn't stay at Tru again. It was unclean and I ended up having to purchase sani-wipes to clean everything as well as wipe large smudges off the walls near the entry bed. The only plus was the breakfast options (pancakes, bagels, yogurt, boiled eggs, bacon etc) however, the juice machine was out of apple juice and right before I was going to serve my drink, it broke and someone had to be called to come repair it. Overall, I don't recommend this place. This was my second worse experience at any hotel stay. read more

Not sure what the decor is supposed to be but I would call it 'urban dorm room meets ikea grunge" . Whatever it is it misses the mark entirely for a Hilton and their but aside from the decor. There is NO IN ROOM COFFEE HERE!! Hilton.. listen up...I DO NOT want to have to get dressed to have coffee. This is a deal hreaker fir me ever returning. For nearly $200 a night after taxes and fees I think that little convenience is expected. Morning breakfast is 7-9 and is do it yourself eggs, pancake machine, dry cereal and bagels. The coffee is the liquid dispenser kind, not fresh brewed. You won't feel be any bacon or sausage either. I called to talk to the manger and there was non on duty!!! WHAT?!!!! The guy I talked to on the phone said not until Tuesday but today is Friday!!! I find it had to believe that for 4 days there will be NO manger on duty!!! The hotel room reminded me of a college dorm room. The blankets on the bed were just A sheet and a mattress cover on top of the sheet. "No other blankets" is what was told. I know I will not be staying here again when visiting AZ. For the price of the room I could have stayed somewhere so much nicer. Too expensive and the price changed when I checked out. We stayed one night here on our way from Texas to California. I found the room to be adequate and clean. The location is right off the 10 freeway and it is close to food. Guests are also provided complimentary breakfast. They have a machine that makes pancakes automatically. See attached pictures. We also had no problem getting extra towels and shampoo. The staff is professional and accommodating. I would stay here again if the opportunity arose. read more

I needed an inexpensive place to stay for a couple of nights as I was driving out with my daughter to bring her home from GCU for the summer. I was surprised by the high cost of many places near her campus so I began widening my search and found Tru. I locked in my reservation via the app on my iPhone and was good to go. I was even able to select which room I wanted! I love the Hilton app as it allows me to check-in without need to see the front desk. Using RFID technology, Tru by Hilton, is able to issue me my room key which is so silly easy to use, I have no idea why others aren't using it. In fact, one of my main reasons for selecting Hilton hotels is for this very feature. Card keys are so 2000s. :) Upon my arrival, I opened my Hilton app and used it to unlock the side door to gain entry to the hallway. My room was a few doors down and with a simple press to the screen of my iPhone, the room door was unlocked as well. Sweet! The room was very simple and basic. It reminded me a lot of hotels in Germany. I liked it a lot. The room was clean. I am a little OCD with this and won't even use room phones because of germs and ear wax build up on the ear piece. I usually don't use the TV remote either. Here, however, I had no issue using the remote control as it looked freshly cleaned. The bathroom was equipped with an interesting shower door and wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. Unique and useful. The sink and toilet were nice and not cheap. I used them both well. :) I visited the pool and was surprised to find it cold. It was late April and very warm outside. I guess they don't heat it. It wasn't that big of a deal since I was doing laps and that generates body heat anyway. The only thing I had to avoid in the pool was leaves from the nearby trees as I was the only one in the pool. The next morning my daughter and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. I was super excited to try it after watching the video on the hotel channel but only to be disappointed by a limited version due to COVID. There were no waffles and magical toppings but the bagels were quite delicious as was the hard boiled eggs. The coffee was very good as well and I'm a coffee snob. Overall I really enjoyed Tru. It is a Hilton brand I wasn't even aware of before my stay. It's basic, clean, and a new spin on hotels. I will definitely be back to this location for future GCU runs as well as looking for it elsewhere. It TRUly is a great place to stay on a budget. read more

It was stated that management IS available on the weekends at this campus and they have apologized not having solutions offered at the time of our dissatisfied. This Hotel is less than desirable to say the least. Especially for the price. Convenient location right off the 10 freeway. I stayed for 1 night then checked out & had to come back for another. I should have known better from the 1st stay. The rooms are small & tight. It says sleeps 4 but really only 2 people can be in the room if you want to be comfortable. The morning I got up to get breakfast to my surprise I opened up 4 mini bagels that had mold on it. The person at the desk just said they didn't move the older ones to the front but did replace them. I checked out & had to check back in the same day due to work being done on the inside of my house. They gave me a room that the Tv didn't work. So they changed the room & gave me the same room I had the night before. It was supposed to have been cleaned but when I pulled back the bed sheets the sheets were never changed & when I called the front desk Jonathan started that he will make a note for the manger because the room was inspected. Oh & this morning when I bent down in the bathroom I located a empty can underneath the bathroom sink. And you say it was inspected. You would think he would have given me an option for another room. There are signs everywhere about Hilton Covid clean. My first night my feet were sticking to the tile floor. I decided to take a wet towel and wipe the floor just using my foot. Please see attached pictures and make your own judgement. The wallpaper by the toilette had obvious urine splashed on the wall. This is the second time we stayed here because this is the hotel that my husband gets when he's in AZ for work. We can't describe how disgusting it's this place. The first time I did not take any pictures but the walls the restroom and the bed was dirty as hell, the bed sheets full of hairs (no matter what room what floor you get it will be always dirty). But this last time we found blood on the bedsheets and hairs in the floor lamp. I heard the housekeeper talking on the phone apparently with a family member or friend saying that she only make the room look clean but she'll not do anything effort because it's a hard job and she gets tired of many rooms. Really nice and crisp Brand new hotel palms not even opened outside. Perfect for what we needed. Everyone is trying really hard during Covid. Saw another review just posted so not going into all that anymore. We did not have a micro wave though not sure how he got it :) Nice rooms, large tv, mini fridge only no microwave or coffee maker but 24/7 free coffee in the lobby. Really liked the hydro flask fill station directly next to the ice machine. Filled up sports bottles every day. Also liked the shampoo conditioner shower gel pump station in the shower and the soap and body lotion one next to the sink. Little things were great and convenient while others not so much. Liked the double shelves in the bathroom allowed all 4 of us to lay out our toiletry and the double shelve on the night stand to use the lower one for charging phones etc in the provided clock with usb outlets while using to top shelve for glasses books remote etc Also very comfortable queen beds and blackout roll shade. During Covid things are different so no room cleaning unless you ask for it and no hot breakfast items. But, the gym was open! 24/7 little market and 24/7 coffee and tea bar. Definitely no pool ! But there wasn't one in the description so I guess I was just assuming 120 degrees weather would have one ... all together great location incredible price and the perfect fit for us. read more

Staff is awesome. Breakfast has a great variety. TV is huge. The room is very clean. The room with two queen beds is very nice size. The king bed room is small. We stayed in both for two weeks. I would stay here or put my family here without hesitation. My only complaint is that they don't have smart TV's so there is no streaming. Happy! read more

I have an upcoming trip to Arizona and i was contemplating either getting an Airbnb or a hotel and ultimately decided a hotel was the cleaner, safer option and narrowed my list down to just a few hotels one of which was TRU but had not yet made my final decision, and good thing I didn't make that decision because i few nights later during a late night TIKTOK scroll a suggested video appeared with what seems to be a "TRU HILTON" employee based on the shirt she was wearing she was completely inappropriate first off and said f*** over what seemed to be 10 times but went on to talk about how she was going to leave dirty bedding on the bed that someone used because it looked decent enough and because it was her last room of her shift, i then proceeded to look into her profile where i found yet another video of her at work with her work gear on showing her intoxicated. After seeing these videos a nasty idea of Tru could not leave my mind, and I will not be staying at any of this hotels chains. read more

If you're a single traveler needing a VERY small hotel room to stay in, you may find this place sufficient. Every room in this hotel is extremely tiny, except for the ADA room. Two people sharing one room is doable in a pinch, but definitely not a pleasant experience. My husband and I were constantly bumping into each other and tripping over our belongings, as there was really nowhere to put them. I even had to resort to using the closed toilet lid as a shelf in the bathroom, while doing my hair and makeup. Additionally, the walls are paper thin. We could hear a cell phone in the neighboring room vibrating. Not ringing, but vibrating. We could hear the TV from the room directly across from ours, and children screaming from a few rooms down. The breakfast decent; bagels, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, muffins...what you'd expect from a low level Hilton. Staying at a Hilton Tru was a first for us, we usually prefer suite style hotel rooms. We won't be staying in a Tru again. read more
