We stayed in the disabled-access room with a tub on the 4th floor. This is the first hotel that we have stayed in where the bed was actually a height that a person in a standard wheelchair could easily transfer to/from. The room was large enough to make moving about the bed easy, and the bathroom was great. Although the handle to switch from shower to tub was on the far wall, the fold-down transfer bench made reaching it pretty easy. Both a stationary and hand-held shower heads were available. And the grab bars were in logical locations for transfers. As an occupational therapist, I have to say, this tub setup is far superior to most hotels. The available activities in the lobby were unique and engaging. Didn't try the pool, but it looked inviting. Some trains went by, but our room came with a set of earplugs (and I'm sure that more were available at the desk), and the trains didn't bother us at all during the night. The power-operated privacy and blackout shades worked as designed, and the controls were easily accessible. We will definitely stay here again! read more

We got a room for Sunday Eve. Our son wanted to go swimming for his birthday with a couple of his friends while the adults could sit and talk and then have pizza to have in the room. We called ahead and asked if we could have a room close to the pool, so that the kids would be more contained and we could change easily. We requested early check in at 2pm if possible, due to it being a school night. We called in the morning as instructed to see about early check in, and they would see us at 2. When we showed up, they said that they were just now starting to clean the room and could we please wait for 30 min. We waited for closer to an hour. We had already ordered pizza and paid for it. We tried to check in while the cleaning was being done, but were told that they could not do that. So we didn't really get checked in until 3. Then they let us know that our son could have everyone in the lobby but that the 2 other children were not allowed in the pool. We noticed that no one was in the pool. Another family had a birthday in the lobby and then went swimming. They had more kids than we did, but there was plenty of room. No one else was around. We ended up taking the kids to the park and having to go back and forth to get the pizza and all of the treats and everything. A 50 mph windstorm had hit town. It might not be policy to have a friend, but no one said anything when we made the reservation or sat waiting for an hour. After the party, the pool room fumes were so bad, we just went back to our room. The room was freezing and the air conditioning was on. We were not able to get the temperature to work. We finally got one an adult back and the other went to check. It was on a thermostat on the wall. We finally got settled. The room itself was small but nice storage bench to stow items. There was a rolling desk and chair to put suitcase on as well as a counter on top of mini fridge. We have chosen to do this every year, as do many of our friends who have winter birthdays, and never had a problem. Last year at Comfort Inn, not only did we feel welcomed, but they came and helped us take out the excess trash and allowed us to use some items from housekeeping to clean up our room after we ate and had presents. We tried this place this year because our son was excited to play in the lobby and so were we. Breakfast was not great. Rubbery eggs and paper thin, no taste bacon. Hard boiled egg still had shell to take off and was also rubbery. There were a few other options we didn't try. My son said the pancakes were good. They had plenty of things to put on them. The blankets were fresh smelling but so slippery that they kept falling off of us. They were very thin. Not my favorite stay. read more

From check in to check out, the experience was fantastic. Staff were friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable of hotel amenities and products. Gave suggestions for nearby things to do and places to eat. The hotel lobby is a family w/kids haven, lots of indoor games, lively decor and atmosphere. The gym is a great size too. our room was spacious and clean. I absolutely love their bath products! Their beds were very comfortable, so much so, my husband and I knocked out! Breakfast was awesome! Love their "make your own pancake" machine. You just wave your hand in front of the sensor for as many mini pancakes as you want and it makes it for you! So much other breakfast options were available too! Yogurt, cereal, egg omlette, sausage, fresh fruit, variety of fresh juices, coffee, bagels & toast options too. Seriously, this hotel gets my 5 stars! I was on my way to Montana from California, and as a Hilton Honors member, I chose to stay in all Hilton properties along the way. This was my second stop, and my first time in the Tru brand of hotel. Overall, very good stay with a clean, quiet location and friendly staff. But here are some points of consideration as you evaluate this property. Pro's - they Dog Friendly (with a fee) and the staff were incredibly friendly. The bathroom was fantastic. The shower was brand new, clean and the stand up shower was awesome with a great high shower head. I loved the eco conscious soap and shampoo and conditioner containers. I also thought the decor was modern and fresh all around. The location is also great, near shopping and restaurants and access to HWY 90. The location was great for families, since right across the street is an awesome park that you can walk the dogs, and a great playground for kids. Con's - the rooms are really, really small. I was traveling with my 82 year old father and it was hard to navigate around each other. There was really no place for him to sit comfortably and if we moved the desk chair for him to use, it was always in the way if I needed to go to the bathroom or back to my side of the room. There is also no coffee maker in your room. There isn't a separate closet area to put your luggage. In our room, we had hardwood floors, which is great with pets, but it does lead to a more sterile feel than carpet, but it's cleaner. Last thoughts. The philosophy of this hotel seems to be about gathering in the communal space by the lobby for everything (watching TV, playing pool, eating, drinking, working and socializing). Your room is really meant to just be your place to sleep and get ready. Which is great for young travelers and families, or even groups, but with a senior traveler, it was not really effective for us. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would for an overnight in this area, but I might not pick this brand of hotel again if I had a choice. read more

Brand new hotel chain that's like dorm rooms without carpet. It's like if the recently renovated Red Lion chain of hotels and The Hampton chain had a baby. It's cute. They have complementary bikes outside where you can ride to a splash park nearby. Check in with the desk to get helmets. You do NOT want to ride to the mall area with those bikes. There is a train track with construction and no road to cross. The lobby is very artsy and welcoming. Comfy chairs with plug-ins for charging is a plus. There are games and coloring books in the cabinets, a full size pool table, gigantic jenga, connect four games and more. Breakfast on weekdays is from 6-9. The hours are extended for the weekend. It consist of eggs, sausage or bacon, dry cereal, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, mini muffins and bread with a toaster. Important: they have a pancake maker. Step 1, place paper plate on disc where pancakes come out. Step 2, Wave your hand in front of the machine where you see the hand print. Step 3, STAY by the machine so other people will know those pancakes are yours. It's a 2 minute wait and you get 2 pancakes. Don't be that person messing up the entire breakfast line with extra cakes everywhere. Also don't be "helping" by waving your hand on someone else's order already being cooked without asking first. When we got here, the road that takes you to the hotel was closed. You have to drive to the detour to get around to the hotel parking lot. Be patient. Eventually you will get there. Update: only when construction was going on in the new dermatology building was the street closed. Plenty of parking spaces and no train noises. We stayed on the "quite side" which is the back of the hotel. The remote control in the room can control the lights, bathroom lights and thermostat. The window have drawstring shades. It's a nice place. I'll give updates on train noises. Update: family that stayed with us on the front of the hotel heard trains from about 2:40-5:00am. They are directly across the street in front of the hotel. After about 2 days of hearing trains, they got used hearing them. Lol Staff: genuinely pleasant, helpful and friendly. On Fridays (June-September) there is a Farmer's Market at the community center next door at the park. They have food trucks also. Do yourself a service and get the gourmet grilled cheese with bacon. Thank me later. There are bike trails and walking trails everywhere behind the hotel. There is a pool, hot tub and small exercise room. Excellent team work at the chain. We will be back. read more

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff who clearly take pride in their hotel. They seem to be treated well by the owners because they are genuinely happy and proud to represent the business. I was here for work and they helped me with remote difficult directions and gave me local advice. Clean rooms, friendly cleaning staff, great gym, family friendly lobby and excellent free breakfast. This is a lovely hotel next to a gorgeous park with bike trails along the river. The young lady behind the front desk was the only employee working, yet she was friendly, professional and happy. This young lady was checking in travelers, checking out travelers, unlocking the cruising bikes, helping people with the television in the community area, all with a smile on her face, but really burn out is a possibility for her! In a perfect world, this corporation would hire more employees to work The hotel is clean as was our room. The rooms are comfortable. We took the bikes out for a cruise along the centennial trail. It is along the river and past the park. We strolled into the park and sat by the water fall. The park was full of families cooking out and relaxing. The hotel has a pool, hot tub and work out area. There is a sign up sheet for using the pool and hot tub in compliance with Covid restrictions. Breakfast was nice with the regular type continental breakfasts we have become accustomed to enjoying. There was plenty of comfortable seating for us to relax. The coffee bar is stocked well with flavored sugar syrups. read more

Truly, a fantastic place to stay! The hotel is very clean, the staff is exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast is fantastic. There are plenty of options to choose from including yogurt and granola, pancakes, and a hot option every morning. The staff were very accommodating and even sent welcome texts. I've stayed here twice and I've been really pleased. The first time, was when It just opened so everything is so so new. I love the look of the hotel. It's like a colorful IKEA room. Very functional, clean, and comfortable. Tru's are absolutely fabulous for a short night stay for two. The location is fantastic, the staff is wonderful and you are always so well taken care of here. I stayed at the Tru in Spokane Valley for a business trip in town. The hotel was in an easily accessible location that was great for CDA and Spokane. The rooms were great, clean and set up with everything I needed. The free breakfast was a great inclusion as were the beverages. I travel with my larger Fido friend and when grabbing breakfast one morning I was informed that I cannot have him on the breakfast side of the lobby because of health code, totally understandable and the rep was on top of her job. Big shout out to Kailee who went above and beyond and offered to hold my dog while I grabbed a quick snack. All the staff was great but definitely a big thanks for Kailee who did an outstanding job with everything on more than one occasion, a true value add to my experience. Thanks Kailee and of course the rest of the Tru staff, I will be back. read more

I love the location of this hotel. It's a very quiet place cannot hear the traffic once in a while a train but that only last a minute or 2. I love the furniture in the room it's so modern. My only one little complaint would be that the bed was to hard for my liking which took a little more time to get comfortable. The bathroom was nice love the big walk in shower and water pressure was amazing. The soap dispenser were an awesome thing. One other down fall is no coffee pot to have a small cup of coffee when I got up. The lay out of everything in this new hotel was great. I will for sure be back again to stay. This is such a great hotel! The owners are extremely friendly and took care building this. The mural in the lobby is a perfect representation of Spokane Valley. My husband and I chose to stay at this hotel during a remodel we're doing to our house we bought. The staff from day one has been so welcoming and very helpful with anything and everything we've needed during our stay. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. Be prepared for midnight freight trains passing by between 11:15 and 12:15. Would not recommend for light sleepers. Also had a bit of an issue on the administrative side. First night got multiple phone calls making sure after I checked in that I was who I said I was in the room. After 1130 pm all we wanted to do is to get some rest. After the trip they charged me twice which needs resolution ASAP. read more
