Stayed here recently and would stay again. I have stayed at the Hampton nearby multiple times but decided to stay here when in Spokane because it was 2/3 of the price of the Hampton for a similar setup (2 queen). Positives: Has free parking, it's clean, reasonably quiet, and provided a good night's sleep. Negatives: It's a little tired and worn, and the bed wasn't as comfortable as I would've liked. But it worked. Note if you're staying here in Sept/Oct of 2025, there's horrific road construction and you can only approach the hotel from one very specific road to the east. Google and Apple Maps will both try to take you down two roads that are currently both closed and are likely to be for some time. Give yourself adequate time to find the hotel on your own, as navigation doesn't work. I'd still stay here again given the price. read more

Madison Inn is dog friendly. We had our grand dog Golden Retriever for an extra $25/night. Apparently, Ruby Hospitality took over in November 2023. The place is simple and hasn't been renovated. The room, bathroom, and towels were clean. They even had a microbe and mini refrigerator in the room. Our room was spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful. A complimentary breakfast is available from 6-9 am. They offered make your own waffles, bagels, toast, juices, coffee, instant oatmeal, apples, bananas, cheese omelet, breakfast sausage, potatoes, grits, gravy, biscuits, cold cereal, packaged muffins, yogurt, and milk. Parking is free and the area was safe. The hotel is used by many guests accessing the nearby Scared Hearts Hospital so apparently there is a "medical" rate. At &115/night plus the fee for our grand dog, I'd say it was a deal. read more

Small clean, quiet hotel right next to Sacred Heart hospital and just down the street from St John Cathedral. Since we moved away from Spokane, we need a solid place to stay Madison Inn is a solid choice. No frills but its quiet, comfortable, clean. It's centralized if you need to hop on the freeway to go west towards the casino, or east towards Spokane Valley or Northern Idaho or south towards Pullman or wherever. Its really convenient if youre heading to downtown Spokane. We'll always keep this place in mind whenever we're taking a quick trip to Spokane. read more

The rooms were OK. Not as clean as I would've liked. Beds to be specific. The sheets had hair strands on them. Not sure if it's short staff or they just don't change sheets if they don't 'look' dirty. The rooms were older looking especially for the price tag, not really worth it. The breakfast was to go which is understandable due to COVID but it was also frozen. We had microwaves in our rooms but still, a frozen breakfast? Not appreciated. The young gal at the front desk was very kind and patient! We really appreciated her! It honestly made our stay feel better! read more

We stayed here while mom had heart surgery. All front desk staff and housekeepers were very kind and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. They also do a really great breakfast! Practically anything you would want from biscuits and gravy, potatoes and sausage, fresh fruit, waffles, and much more! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Spokane WA. The staff, ALL shifts, were very very accommodating. My wife's mobility is restricted and they went out of their way to help her and myself. We checked in at 2;30am and the night clerk (a very nice young man) got some yogurt from the kitchen as we had nothing to eat since noon. The daytime staff, including the manager, were very professional, friendly and also accommodating as well. The desk clerk even offered to clean our room later in the day (after the cleaning staff left for the day). All the staff always were smiling which is uncommon usually in a hotel. This is definitely not like The Davenport. It is basic and less fancy. However, it is a nice place to stay. There is breakfast - hot and cold - every day. The rooms, halls, breakfast area, elevator, and even the stairways are spotless. Every staff person was polite and friendly! I never saw an employee standing around - they were always working. This establishment has a great location as it is close to the hospital and is a few minutes driving distance to downtown. There is also a bar, a Mexican restaurant, and a crepe restaurant two minutes walking distance from this inn. We decided to do a one night stay in Spokane and had decided on this particular establishment because it was pet friendly and the price was decently low (compared to other establishments). I went on their website to get more information about their vicinity and it is mentioned on their website that they provide discounts from their room rates. Just mention it upon booking. They also provide free popcorn in the pm and free breakfast. The breakfast provided wasn't bad at all. In fact, I was surprised that I liked it. The hot foods provided were eggs, mini pancakes, and gravy for the biscuits. The gravy was really good. They provide other breakfast items as well - cereal, bread, muffins, coffee, tea, apple juice and orange juice. The room itself isn't spectacular but it is comfortable; I didn't feel icky like other places I've stayed at before. They provide free WiFI (password given to you at the front desk) which was strong in our room. They also have room service and food is provided by the hospital. I believe there are set times for the delivery. As I mentioned earlier, they are pet friendly. We brought our dog with us and we were placed at the end of the hallway which was great because it was near the exits. Parking is free but front desk will give you a parking pass. If you have more than one car, they also provide you a free parking pass good at the hospital's parking structure. read more

When me and my friend checked in the staff was knowledgeable and helpful and courteous. When we got our room it was very clean. After our first nites stay the bed was soft and very comfortable.tge best part of our stay was talking to one of the staff members at the front desk he gave us so much information about where to go and what to. His name Thoren he was a the best we had good chats throughout are stay. He told us to go to pig in the park which we did and was talking about these amazing doughnuts which we got and then gave him one because it turned out to be a good idea. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the hot water wasent consistent when I took a shower that's it. Had a very comfortable stay. read more

I left a very special blanket at this hotel! I called when I got home that day. They assured me they would send it at my expense which is fine. I called today three weeks later and was given a dozen excuses! I don't recommend staying here. The receptionists are very snooty! I watched a mother trying to get a breakfast for little girl. The person at the desk refused to help her said was too late! Didn't offer any help. Poor little girl was crying! This place in next to children's hospital! Parents stay there while their kids are getting help! Not a good thing to be rude to these poor parents! There's other hotels around there. Try a different one. Stayed here while my husband had surgery at Sacred Heart, it is right across the street from the main entrance to the hospital. Easily walkable. Basic room was clean and comfy. Really quiet too. Very,very nice staff. My only complaint was the tv didn't work. I was offered a different room busy I was too tired to move. I would stay here again. Oh, and FREE parking. read more

1. Had to wake up the night desk attendant at 4am that was sleeping at his work station to get checked in. 2. Night attendant looked vary unprofessional. 3. Added another day to me because I checked in 4 hours to early. 4. Most importantly we paid for the stay in advance though Hotels.com, the hotel still charged us so we had to pay dubble for a room. 5. They sent us to a room on 4th floor then 20 mins later told us to move to first floor. 6. They keyed our keys to only work for one night 2 times causing my family to wate in the hallway as we got the ordeal corrected. 7. We informed them of the dubble charge and they said they would correct it, instead they charged us for more nights. To make this fair, positively 1. Its right behind the hospital (we where not there for the hospital) 2. The hotel does alow room delivery from out side food services. 3. Really disappointed in this hotel... Upon arrival the man at the front desk was a little rude, but honestly no biggie. We were given room keys and went down to the first floor (the lobby is on the 3rd floor as this hotel is built on a hill). The room was spacious and clean, but the sheets on our bed were becoming thread-bare. When we got into bed, you could feel how worn the sheets were. Kind of gross...on the topic of beds, my boyfriend's mom had a room as well and said one side of the mattress in her room was completely worn down!! The website boasts a workout room with 4 cardio machines including a treadmill. This ended up being false- there was no treadmill in sight. It was a small windowless room on the 2nd floor that felt claustrophobic and was really unpleasant to use. Also, it is locked all the time but your room key doesnt let you in, you need an actual key from the front desk. So if you're on the first floor and want to work out, you have to go up to the third floor, check out a key, go back to the 2nd floor, work out, go up to the 3rd floor to return your key and go back to the 1st floor to your room. RIDICULOUS. I was so disappointed, as I always work out even when travelling and this was hardly accommodating. The free breakfast was pretty decent but it is set up in a VERY small area, and gets VERY crowded and claustrophobic as well. Some tables are near the breakfast bar and if you sit there, be prepared to be bumped into by the masses of people trying to fit into a tiny area to get their food. I will not be back. read more

Stayed here for a week on a business trip and it left a lot to be desired. The bed has only a top-sheet tucked under the mattress. So if you roll around at night, like I do, you can easily move the sheet which exposes the mattress. That's pretty gross. The mattress was so worn in from everyone sleeping in the same spot, due to one night table on only one side, that your head sits lower than your feet...like an inversion table. The electronic door key stopped working twice during my stay. Inconvenient. They let a maintenance man in my room one day to do a repair without letting me know. Unprofessional. The fitness room machines are antiquated and there's a camera looking right at you so you feel like you're being watched while you workout. Strange. The continental breakfast served tacos with what looked like some sort of Dinty Moore canned meat. Gross. Sausage was swimming in its own water/juice. All in all the breakfast was very unappetizing. I will say that the breakfast improved when the cook came back from his weekend on Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday while the other employees ran the breakfast it was gross. Stayed here for one night and this place was definitely well done. It's a small hotel with a great staff and reasonable prices. They provided me with a business king, which came with a microwave and a refrigerator! It's a great place to stay if you're visiting the hospital nearby, which apparently a lot of guests stay for longer stays while having family or friends in the hospital. They have laundry service, a great vending machine which sells things if you forgot soap or detergent, etc. They serve coffee and juice 24/7 which is free and they have a breakfast from 6-9a every morning. There was also free wireless available in the room. Parking was also complementary. Definitely a pleasant stay! read more

And despite the signs in the parking lot warning you to take everything from your car and the ominous warning at check in, it seems safe. And the price point is fairly reasonable. This is a great place to stay. It's roughly comparable to mid-range hotels but cleaner, quieter, and for many people, probably cheaper. Their primary business is medically-associated, including folks staying while a loved one is in the hospital. But they make clear all are welcome; I was here to attend a business conference elsewhere in town. If I come back to Spokane, I'll stay here again. While not having the amenities of a big downtown luxury hotel, Madison has small but neat rooms in good repair. Mine included a fridge and a microwave. I found the Wi Fi to be solid. Food is in walking distance, and they have a modest but fresh continental breakfast available, as well as dinner through (I think) the hospital food service. The staff was friendly and accommodating of special needs. No coffee pot in the rooms, but they keep (good) hot coffee ready 24 hours a day in the lobby. My fridge didn't have a have an easy-to-use temp dial, but other than that, I can't think of any complaints. The distance to center-city is quite short; I could drive to and from events there in only a few minutes. My only caveat to travelers is that, if you want to make a lot of noise, you probably should stay somewhere else. People with friends or family across the street in the hospital really shouldn't be disturbed by other, noisy guests. read more

The website is very deceiving. I purchased on hotels.com for under $100 barely. Upon entering there was a sign that read roofing work begins at 7am! Front desk guy was nice. Parking is free and seemingly available. Upon entering my 4th (top) floor room I was overtaken by a fish smell, like people had maybe been cleaning the days catch. I opened the window hoping that would help. Then the sirens began outside, but in fairness there is a hospital across the street. Went in bathroom and was startled by toilet as there is a big stain or gouge or something in the bowl and the seat had a gouge out of it, turning to sink I was freaking out that there was a hair, but turns out sink was cracked. I'm not fussy usually but for about $10 more I could have stayed somewhere much nicer. Won't be returning. I'll post pictures. read more

Wasn't impressed by this hotel. Price was too high for the accommodations. They also advertise breakfast and we were even told there would be upon check in but the next morning there was NOTHING. When my husband asked for coffee they just handed him a cup of black coffee that tasted like water and never even offered cream and sugar. read more

We chose this hotel because of it's location and the pictures on the web site. The front desk staff were courteous and pleasant every time we entered or left the property. The room seemed clean, but the fan in the bathroom was broken and we had to request new batteries in the TV remote. Since there were three in our party, and we booked at the last minute, we had a king sized bed and a rollaway (for which we had to pay $10 extra on top of the $191.00 nightly price). The rollaway was a nightmare. The mattress was ancient and completely lumpy (you could feel the bars of the stand right through it). We finally took the mattress off the stand and put it on the floor. This was marginally better but still made for a horrible night's sleep. Overall, this hotel is overpriced for what you receive and I would NEVER request a rollaway here (even a small child would be uncomfortable on it). read more

My brother is in Sacred Heart Hospital. I had been staying at a house that was no longer available and needed a room for Saturday and Sunday nights. There are Madison I n brochures all over the hospital, and since they offer "medical rates", I decided to book with them. Big Mistake. The place is old as the hills, has a small lobby, and the rooms are nothing to brag about! I booked a so-called " deluxe double" because I'm with my sister-in-law. Dark room with that old, lingering smell of days gone by, horribly lumpy, soft beds. The 'free breakfast' is bleak, and the woman wiping the tables looked like she hates her job and the guests. I'm lucky that we have another place to stay after we check out tomorrow, and really think the close proximity to the hospital should not entice patients' family to stay there. Do yourself a favor and find yourself a better place! read more

The Level of "Pissivity" I have achieved can't be measured!! As a retired Soldier it takes quite a bit to get me sideways. This Pissed me off! I reserved a room here through Hotwire. No cancellation policy, or I would be staying elsewhere tonight. This is my second visit to this Inn. First was excellent, without any negative incidents. Upon check in I advised Katherine that we had my wife's registered Emotional Support animal. An 8 lb PomChi. Her attitude immediately fell into the toilet at that point. She exhibited a very condescending attitude and explained the following negatives; 1. We would be transferred to a "Pet Room"! 2. There would be an additional, Pet Fee? I explained that we have all of the documentation. And gave them that documentation. Including 1. A letter from my wife's therapist. 2. A letter of accredidation certifying her dog as an emotional support animal. The letter specifically certifies my wife.... "meets the definition of disability under the Fair Housing Act and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973". We were discriminated against, in violation of a Federal Law!! Our animal is a well mannered Registered Support Animal. Obviously www.Riversageinns.com feels they do Not need adhere to Federal law. I recommend that if you are Disabled, a Minority or a Retired Soldier, find other accommodations!! read more

This is a great little hotel that offers quality rooms at an affordable price. They have comfortable bedding and extremely tidy rooms along with an in room microwave and refrigerator. With easy parking and such accommodating rooms this is a stellar hotel. Highly recommend. read more

Manager has NO idea .. zero.. on how to manage. We were double charged. My brother payed and signed as my dad was being transferred for open heart surgery. emergency care happened and I needed to get my moms luggage in her room for her comfort. Because my brother (who has already approved and signed charges) couldn't be there in time.. I had to charge my card.. now we have 2 cards charged. The manager told me "I was making a seen" well yep " my dad is in surgery and I have made 4 trips here to attempt to resolve this issue" Heather is amazing, breakfast staff amazing, housekeeping amazing. Manager-100% and 2 male day time time staff front desk have zero Clue what they are doing. Please don't stay here it's a nightmare read more

If giving no stars were an option, that's what I would do. My husband and I booked this hotel and PAID for it online for my father and his very ill partner because she was having a very stressful and intensive surgery at the hospital nearby and this was the place the hospital recommended because of how close it was. They attempted to check in and were told they could not until the hotel received a credit authorization from my husband, who made the reservation. None of this was explained when we booked it WEEKS ago. Contact was attempted with my husband, but he is an ER nurse and working and so could not respond right away. I called to say I authorized it. They said no, had to be husband. I said ok, run it through my debit card then. They said no, they could only do it if I FAXED a copy of the front and back of my card to them with my signature and a copy of my ID. I asked if it could be done via scan and email, because who TF even uses a fax these days and I definitely did not have access to a fax machine. No. Absolutely not. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there were no managers I could speak to and that she "never knew them to bend this rule". I was also told they don't have a billing dept that I could speak to. I wonder how employees get paid without a billing department. I explained the situation and how sick my dad's partner is and she just kept saying "sorry, no I can't let them into their room until we get that credit authorization." By this time it has been hours, and my dad's partner has fallen asleep in the hotel lobby! There was no solution they could come up with to make this work. As someone who books hotels for other people roughly 60 times a year, the lack of the hotel's help in this situation is unheard of. At the very least my dad should have been allowed to put down a credit card at check-in that wouldn't be charged until they checked out (as all hotels work in my experience) and then we could have figured out the ridiculous fax situation. But that wasn't an option. So finally my husband is able to take a break from his covid patients in the ER and call and it takes another 20 minutes for them to send the fax form to him at work. He fills it out, sends in what the asked, and, of course this is not exactly what they needed so they have to then fax another form. Turns out, it is the EXACT same form he already filled out. I asked if there was anything they could do to help make this right, like offer them a food voucher, upgrade their room, etc. She said nothing like that is within her power. So I asked her to call her manager to ask. Apparently this was not possible, even though she had supposedly already contacted him earlier. This is THE most ridiculous system. This is not hospitality. This is not even humane. They have sick people who stay there all the time, and this is how they are treated. read more
