Sorry for the long story but it's important to understand the horrible process we went through and how these guys remedied my ruffled feathers. These guys work occasionally for pier one with their deliveries department. (Pier one uses third party delivery services) We ordered a kitchen table and chairs in mid January. We were told it would be two weeks. But the "other" delievery company that pier one uses called and said that one of the chairs was damaged but not to worry they would call pier one. Two weeks later I haven't heard anything. I call pier one and they were unaware of the situation. They call the "other" delivery company and get it sorted out. The "other" delievery guys have an automated voice call me to say they will call in the next 24-48 hours to set a delivery time. Four days later I call them! A man answers and says yes they are here and that he's going to go check on the status and call me back to set up a time. He doesn't call back I get a text message informing me of the time they will deliver (thankfully it was a time I was home). They showed up 45 minutes late with two guys one guy stayed in the truck while my husband had to help carry the huge boxes and they only had four of the 5 chairs and no table. They told my husband to call pier one and left (they didn't try to call their manager or anything). Finally we talk to pier one again and she says she going to get the items to the store and have Tru Movers deliver them for me (refunded delievery cost). Tru movers called me within an hour to set up a time. They were flexible and understanding of my tight schedule the next day. They were EARLY! They listened to how and where I wanted them put. They were careful while handling and they were in and out in 5 minutes!! Amazing service! Pier one needs to switch third party movers permanently over to these guys! read more

First, I should preface this review by saying that I have had terrible experiences with movers in terms of hidden costs and hijacking my belongings, so contracting with a moving service always causes me great anxiety. I can't express how grateful I am for Iquan and his team. From the beginning, he was awesome at communicating. He promptly returned my call and discussed pricing. Admittedly, I'm not the best at estimating how much stuff I have, but he assured me they'd make it work. On move day, they arrived on time and immediately began working. At my destination, they had to deal with a non-functional elevator in a new building and there was a long path, including a staircase, from the entrance to the elevator. They improvised by forming an assembly line. By the time the elevator was functional, they had everything ready to go in. They also made an additional trip back to my pick up location to retrieve the rest of my things, because I underestimated the capacity I'd need for my move. There was no procrastination or uncertainty. He laid out a plan and executed until the move was complete. I want to point how professional they were and also how flexible and patient they were for my move. When I first spoke to Iquan for a quote, he assured me that his team would try to beat the time he estimated, and he did exactly that!! Even with the delay caused by the additional trip and the elevator debacle, Iquan and his team still managed to get the entire job done in under the expected time. Wow, truly amazing work. Iquan, James, and a third man (I'm so sorry I forget his name) moved me from a POD into my house. They completed the work in under an hour (other movers have taken about 2.5 hours for my things)! They even put together a bed (which was handmade and thus not standard to put together) and a couch. They worked so hard, were incredibly efficient, and very careful with the items and the house. They bought moving blankets to protect the doors and a dolly to go super fast. I am so impressed and thankful for their hard work! Communication: Awesome! They arrived early and were super communicative. Iquan confirmed when they were on their way and they responded very quickly when we were setting up the time. Rate: Very reasonable, I would have paid double (or more) for the work that they did. In fact, I thought that it would take them three hours instead of one, so I thought that I was going to pay way more. Bonus: They were super nice. I am generally anxious about moves, but they were seriously so nice and calming about everything, it really put me at ease. Iquan and his team were fantastic! Like other reviews, I too have had a bad experience with movers. This was totally different. They were on time, great price, efficient, cheerful, friendly and accommodating. I'm disabled, but still mobile, and even though I tried to help getting the last odds and ends packed, James and Iquan told me to sit and not hurt myself and that they would help pack those last minute items. While Iquan drove back to Raleigh to get a smaller truck (we originally thought the largest size was what we were going to need but a smaller size sufficed) his helpers finished packing up the last of the kitchen stuff! They drove my belongings to my new condo and couldn't have been nicer! My daughter was in a terrible car accident on the way to my new place and we were tied up for sometime at the scene of the accident. Iquan was able to meet with my realtor so he could start unloading my belongings which he did perfectly. By the time we arrived at our new location, Iquan and his team were completely done! We were very pleased with the moving services Tru Movers provided. I haven't had good experiences in the past working with other moving services (I've lost a few items, including my 32" TV, rude behavior etc.), so this was a very pleasant change. Iquan and Malcolm were very professional, courteous, hard-working and thorough in their work. It was a very clean and flawless move for us (without so much as a crack on any of the items), thanks to these guys. They worked pretty much non-stop, and got the job done in 4 and a half hours, which was much faster than we had expected. Their rates are very reasonable, specially for the exceptional quality of services they provide. We were doubtful about whether a 16 ft. truck would be enough to move our stuff in one go, but Iquan was really methodical in loading the boxes (sorted them by sizes before loading), and managed nicely with the space available. I hired Iquan for two moves. We had just moved to the area and we knew no one and had no recommendations about movers. I am pleased I found Tru Movers. I very impressed with Iquan's professionalism and "can-do" attitude the first time, so we had no reservations hiring him again. The second time when we moved from our short term leased apartment to a home we purchased, again, Iquan exceeded our expectations. Iquan and team are THE best! I've used them for two moves now and have been highly impressed with their speed, attention to detail, and care for my belongings each time. My first move was from Raleigh to Chapel Hill and my second, most recently, was from the Triangle NC area to Washington, DC. We just moved back from overseas and had a POD that needed to be unraveled very carefully as it was packed to the brim and barely could be opened! When Iquan called me after I reached out to several moving companies, and he mentioned I wouldn't find anyone better, he was right! I hired Iquan and his two man crew, James & John, to move me. They were INCREDIBLE!!! They took great care with all of my fragile items and paid attention not to hit any walls, ceilings and kept things from scratching along the floors. Iquan and his team made the move VERY QUICK, no stress, EXTREMELY EFFICIENT. They worked hard and kept a high pace to their loading and unloading. They used furniture blankets on all furniture. I have a very heavy mattress, dining room table made out of a bowling alley that easily weighs over 600 pounds and a piano. They never complained, moaned or groaned about the job they were doing. He was awesome. Friendly and strong! I called him to move a bedroom set I purchased on Craigslist. He reconfirmed the appointment prior to the move date, and was flawless with taking apart the furniture and moving it alone from a 2 story home to my 3rd floor walk up. He took good care of my furniture and made sure to point out any flaws he saw in it before I purchased it and made sure everything was wrapped and packaged properly. He was even willing to assemble it when he arrived to my home. Iquan came to our rescue. Our previous mover bailed on us because of snowy conditions. I called around and got in touch with Iquan, and he said he'd be available the very same afternoon for a 2-hour move of items from a storage unit into a 10 foot van. He and his partner James arrived a little early, and proceeded to help me get my van unstuck from an icy patch on the driveway. The move was completed on schedule, and went off without a hitch. They moved and packed all the items safely and securely in the van. Throughout, they were polite, pleasant, and just a delight to deal with. They are awesome. They are quick and careful. I think their pricing was fair. I thought this would be an all day affair but it turned out to have only taken 2 hours. Granted they only had the big stuff to move but when you are moving from Clayton to Cary that is quite a drive. Both men were polite and quick to get to work. What we moved filled most of the truck so it was impressive that they were able to accomplish this in such little time. Their truck was so organized on the inside. They came equipped with lots of blankets, blue wrap, and bars to hold stuff in place. Overall this made life so much easier then moving ourselves and took a fraction of the time. A phenomenal experience from beginning to end! I contacted Iquan on short notice (several days before hand) and he managed to squeeze me in. He texted the day prior to confirm. Texted that morning to let me know he was on the way. Once arriving, we did a quick orientation and then he and James got to work. (Pickup on a Thursday and delivered on Sunday) Not only were they very professional and efficient, they even took a part and reassembled bed frame, TVs, dresser, etc. They even offered to box up all of my things.
