I'd probably ask for a little extra butter and pate next time, but honestly, it's one of the more memorable banh mi I've had in town. The butter toast was sooo good!! super crispy and satisfying. Since moving to the Round Rock area, my husband and I have been trying new spots in our area that we can call our go to spots. Avocado smoothie - tasted like they added more milk that overpowered the real taste of the avocado. I asked for 50% sweetness and it tasted like there wasn't anything in it. Thankfully the worker adjusted it and it was much better. An update: I did come back a second time and reordered the avocado smoothie 50% and it tasted like it had no sugar. My consensus is that their 50% means no to little sugar haha ** A tip for those who ordering the avocado smoothie! My husband likes their grilled pork banh mi and says it is on par with Fresh Bowls pork banh mi in Pflugerville. The banh mi was probably the closest to authentic that you will get outside of the Austin vicinity. I got the house special which is the authentic Vietnamese cold cut sandwich. Ordered my usual from here yesterday, the honeydew smoothie- 75% sweet. I wish they were closer to home as the boba here is far superior to the other boba that I've had around town. It comes warm but quickly cools off- it's has the perfect flavor and texture - very bouncy and smooth all the way through. The smoothie was perfect, could have probably gotten 50% sweet but I still enjoyed the smoothie and the boba. This is my go-to boba spot. I've tried other spots in the area and they all had been a let down, but not TruBoba. They have my all-time favorite type of tea - oolong - which I highly appreciate as it can be hard to find a decent spot that even have oolong on the menu in the first place. Not only do they have boba, they also have banh mi! A few years ago, I believe they only had one banh mi option but they've expanded their selection since then to be similar to that of a traditional banh mi shop. I love their special which has cold cuts meats. All banh mis come with a packet of siracha if you want that extra kick in flavor. **Bonus**: they do have a loyalty card for their drinks which I love. Buy 10, get 1 free! Unfortunately, my most recent experience there had been a tad disappointing but I'm hoping it's just an anomaly. However this time, it seems like either they had a bad batch or prepared it incorrectly because there were some really hard bobas mixed in. They were so hard that they can't even be chewed through. One of my favorite places for lunch. I've tried their entire menu pretty much and it's all great. The Vermicelli is probably my favorite. The vegetables are pickled, and it's probably the best Vermicelli in the area. The drinks are also fantastic. The coconut coffee and avocado smoothie are real stand outs for me. I stopped here thinking I was gonna receive the same drink that I normally ordered. I stand corrected. My go to is Taro Milk Tea with Boba Pearls and Lychee popping boba (or jelly). Majority of boba places will do Taro Milk Tea with green tea rather than milk, which results in a drink that's less sweet. I feel like once you try the milk version, you don't go back to green tea (at least in my experience) So I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted the drink and it was made with milk! I definitely give it a 10 out of 10! The place is super cute as well, with a green wall that could be perfect for some selfies with friends! Love the concept of viet street food with boba. I work right next door to here and have been meaning to give it a try and it definitely did not disappoint. For my order, I got the fish sauce wings, popcorn chicken, beef banh mi, and jasmine green milk tea with boba. Green Milk tea was overall decent. I would recommend that from here. I got it crystal boba as well in my drink and they were a bit smaller than the normal crystal boba from other places.
