Phuong is absolutely INCREDIBLE! Best facial I have ever had and I won't go anywhere else!

This was a treat to myself for my birthday & I walked out after 10 minutes, even though I had already paid for a 1/2 hr. facial & 1 hour massage. The receptionist could not have been less welcoming. She pointed me to the changing room & waiting area. I was not asked to fill out any health/skin care info. As well, when I asked for validation for parking, she asked if I meant my credit card?! The young woman who was to give my facial, asked for the information, but said never mind. She did not remove my makeup & just started applying "who knows what", which got into my eyes making them burn. Also, whatever she had been using has left my face blotchy & burning! I got up & said I was leaving. Perhaps this was because she barely spoke English. I did tell her I had sensitive skin! This was an awful experience! I spoke to reception at the Westin. BEWARE OF CANCELLATION POLICY and the fact that they need to keep your credit card number on file. How unsafe. I called today 30 minutes prior to my appointment to cancel. Left a voice mail. I heard nothing. I called again to explain that I was on emergency doctor visit yesterday, was too ill to call but I can proof the doctor visit. The staff unable to make an exception about my cancellation request and asked if I can come in later. I specifically said not only I feel sick but it may be contagious to others. The staff spoke to their manager who is not willing to make an exception. So this is telling me a manager who forces a sick person to come in and jeopardize their client's and their employee's health for the sake of $23 from my brow wax. And to lose me as a client for good. Good luck charging the card I use for these purposes only, I only add a balance to it when I need to. And even though if you can charge it, I will dispute it. read more

I was there for a pedicure and shellac manicure and I was shocked at the lack of experience. The shellac turned out bubbling. She cut me twice and a different client was also cut. She had no idea what she was doing. Shame on you Westin!!! read more

Long time client and service has become atrocious. The message therapists have run too. Nobody is left. Spend your time elsewhere and save your money for a place that gives respect and treats people courteously. It's really too bad because as a small business owner myself, I would have hoped this spa would succeed. Truce Spa has a soothing environment which is very relaxing. Some of their front desk staff are occasionally uncertain in how to handle certain things, however, they are very welcoming and have a calming presence. When it is time for a facial, I always choose Phuong. I was referred to her by a friend and she turned out to be more than amazing. She knows what she is doing, knows the benefits of each product, and knows your skin situation. She is dedicated, friendly, and a great esthetician. I have mixed feelings about this spa. First, it was a bit dissappointing that there weren't any saunas or spas, something I sort of expected since it was at The Westin. We were greated pomptly by name when we arrived by the front desk person, and were immediately taken back to get settled in. We each got a massage, and Sam was AHmazing! The other one, not so much. We also got pedicures, and enjoyed the service very much. If it weren't for Sam, I wouldn't go back, but she was without a doubt one of the best massuers I've had. Everything else was just ok. No glasses to get yourself water or tea, and no snacks, so it just seemes a little less indulgent, and more like a nicer Massage Envy I suppose. read more

I had my first facial at Truce Spa last week. It was amazing! Jacquie, the esthetician who did the facial, was awesome. You can tell she loves what she does and it comes through in the service. She took time to determine the best products and service for my needs. My skin looked so healthy afterwards! Even my husband noticed which is rare. The spa itself is beautiful and very tranquil. Maybe I'm just used to the more deep tissue massages from the massage therapists but whatever this masseuse was doing made me ticklish almost the entire time. She couldn't adjust the pressure/technique to stop from making me ticklish. Her fingers were very tiny - like being jabbed with 10 eraser ends of a pencil. I get shellac manicures all the time, and this was the best one I've had yet. I got a special deal online too, so I decided to pamper myself! The spa was so serene and relaxing, and all of the staff were so friendly and accomodating. The best part was the neck pillow that they put on me - it smelled so delicious and was so warm and cozy! It's been 2.5 weeks since I had my nails done, and as much as there may be some grow out (typical), the manicure still looks great! This place is a must try! read more

Yesterday September 17th 2016, at 3pm I arrived to meet my 3 co-workers for a ladies spa day. On arrival at exactly 3pm, the front desk lady was trying to locate my appointment on the computer which was under one of my co-workers name. Took a while to get the appointment name until my co-worker showed up a little at 3.05pm. The front desk lady proceeds to tell us that she's running out of bath robes and just escorted us to the waiting room. Our massage therapists came in Laurie and Mila and asked where our robes are? And we responded "you run out" as mentioned....anyways the therapists got us robes, gave us tea and wine and right away changed so we could get our services for a body scrub and 90min massage. But guess what? The schedule got screwed up instead of 90min massage, I got a 60min massage and 30min body scrub. And the funny thing...is the same front desk lady merchant #7587 wanted to charge me for a 90min massage with the excuse that I came late. I pointed out, I was on time and it's her fault she couldn't figure out the name on the appointment schedule but because of me speaking up, she wanted to charge me for a 90min massage. And not to mention my co-worker was double charged and the other one was over charged for a 90min massage instead of 60min with the excuse of coming in late. Anyways overall I enjoyed my body scrub and 60min massage with Mila but the front desk lady needs to get a Stuff Together Otherwise there is better customer service elsewhere and at a reasonable price. read more

The facility is lovely and first class - calming and relaxing as a quality spa should be. It is also immaculately clean. I had the volcanic mud wrap and it didn't quite live up to its explanation or my expectations. A very thin mud mixture was quickly put on me and I was wrapped in sheets and blankets. I enjoyed the scalp, face, and foot massage as well as the soothing eye pad. But after about 20 minutes I was told to get up and take a shower to wash off the mud. The remainder of the treatment was a sort of massage to rub in the lotion I selected ( from the 4 scents offered). Nothing was wrong with the treatment except that compared to other wraps it fell short. I expected a more robust wrap, and would have preferred to shower after the treatment rather than use treatment time for that. It was weird to put on a robe and go down the hall to the woman's dressing room in the middle of the treatment - it broke the ambiance and was chilly and I feel quite exposed. Given these premium prices I won't hurry back. read more

I just purchased a google offers/sign post deal for Truce Spa. Then I read the yelp reviews, and I was a little worried I would be disappointed. I called on Thursday and had no problem getting an appointment on Saturday. I had a choice of times available to me in the morning or afternoon. When you get to the entrance of the spa it is serene, calm and smells divine (not over powering, but lovely). The receptionist was friendly the entire time I was there (and I stayed for over 2 hours), often checking in with me to see if I'd like more tea, etc. I had a facial with the add-on scalp treatment and it was amazing. I have been to tons of spas in the area, and always get facials, this experience was hands down one of the top 5 best facials I've had from Seattle to New Orleans to New York to London. I mean, I can remember all of my favorite facial experiences, and this is now on that list. And, I was so skeptical after reading the other reviews on yelp. I have never posted a review before, but since my experience was so vastly different from most of the other posts, I really thought I should share my experience from this weekend. The esthetician was friendly and told me what she was going to do before each step in the facial, but she wasn't overly chatty, just let me relax. The add-on scalp treatment was so well worth it. The warm oil on the scalp was an extra treat. The whole facial was great, but I just loved the arm and neck massage. Most of the time, its just a little arm and hand rub, but she was lifting and twisting and bending my arms, in a very gentle but great way that really helped actually massage my arms, hands, neck, etc. Then, the post-facial experience was really nice. I had tea, a hot neck pillow, and I just zoned-out for 15 or so minutes in some big chairs in dim-lit room. Then I had a lovely shower, some cucumber water, and checked out. It was a great, relaxing afternoon. I love the organic products they use, and just really had a great experience. Not only b/c I had a discount deal with the google offer, but in general. I really am planning on going back. Oh, and my esthetician left some samples and her card with a 15% off your next facial, which just even made me more excited about going back again. read more

I went for a massage at Truce with a Groupon coupon. I couldn't have been treated nicer. I got all the amenities given to a full-price...long robe, cup of tea, choice of creams, etc. etc. The receptionist knew I had a Groupon but I got an appointment 3 days later so I don't understand people saying they waited 2 months. Decor is beautiful in taupes and cream and the ladies bathroom is gorgeous. read more

Very nice environment and relaxing. The front desk welcome was a bit cold and not very welcoming but once I was back for a mani/pedi, I was able to relax. The pedicure was very nice and I enjoyed a long massage. I really liked how clean the place was and how well they sanitize was impressive compared to other places. They use a chemical free polish line which I did not care for. The polish dried clumpy and took hours to dry. I smudged a toe 4 hours after the pedicure which was surprising and my toes are all chipped less than 1 week later. The checking out process was also not a pleasant experience. I was waiting for the girl who was on the computer (I assumed closing out my services) and a new client walked in to check in and the girl completely checked her in without excusing herself from completing my checkout. I found that sort of rude. I don't think I will return to this location. Too many spas in the area that offer a higher end overall experience. read more

My boyfriend and I have been on our very long search for a great couples massage. Truce has made the top for now but definitely we know there's better. The massage for me was great! It was very firm like I requested and although it was firm I felt relaxed. It was a great massage for me. My boyfriend was so so about his. He said it was like she was just rubbing in lotion and didn't really do any muscle work. But overall was ok with it. We did both notice how extremely empty it was and we were the only ones, but we started late even though we arrived early. Hmm. The lounge was ok, not very relaxing but quite. The locker rooms were ok, I'm just glad there was no one else there or it may have been crowded! The place was freezing and feeling like a sumo wrestler in our short, thin robes was a bit interesting. Overall the place doesn't give the spa feel really, but the massage (at least for me) was worth it. I had Scott so I definitely recommend him if you like a very firm massage. It's a good place to go for me, but unfortunately it's just not spa enough (steam room, sauna, etc) for us to keep going together. So the search continues, but if you just need that quick, muscle tension/relaxation massage and don't care about the rest. I'd go here. Oh and don't bother to valet. It will cost too much and prices just went up. read more

It had been a few years since I had received an ashiatsu massage, so I thought I would give truce spa a try. I arrived 15 minutes early and was warmly greeted and brought to the locker room to put my belongings into a locker and change into a robe. I then went into the waiting area where i filled ouy paper work and enjoyed some cucumber water. I finished the paper work. Soon after, faith came out and walked me to the massage room to begin. I brought my cell phone with me so that I could time the massage. Unfortunately my hour long 95 dollar massage only lasted 45 minutes which was a bit frustrating. Thr massage itself was decent. Not really worth the price though. After I got changed, I went to the front to pay and was cheerfully asked if I wanted to include gratuity. I normally would of but I had trouble justifying it,especially since the girl on the phone when I booked the appointment weny on and on about how great the therapists are and how they always end up going 10 or 15 minutes over the time. The pros to going here are the cucumber water, nice locker rooms, and the tea. read more

I was shocked to read some of the 1 star reviews on yelp. I had nothing but a 5 star experience from the moment i scheduled the appt to the moment I left the spa. Upon arrival my friend and I were offered spa water, tea or a glass of wine. I was escorted to the locker rooms where we changed into these cute little robes. We enjoyed our wine (She had water) in the relaxation room, before walking into the sauna room. My technician was Lori (SHE IS AMAZING!) We did a package where we were brushed and scrubbed with sugar from neck to toe, then a warm oil was mixed in...front and back. Then a warm oil was poured over my hair, and a neck/back/scalp massage was performed (Wasn't sure I would like that, but the oil not only washed out of my hair easily but it left it soft and bouncy!) then I went back into the locker room, showered and came back to the room for a massage. It was PURE HEAVEN! Lori is from the south and is totally precious, but don't let that cute accent fool you, she is one tough cookie! I like a deep pressure massage, and it was the best i've ever received! I can't wait to go back to Bellevue, so that I can come back to this spa. Jerica! Jerica! Jerica! I can't say enough about the massage she gave me. Literally the best I have ever had and I've had over 100 massages. She seemed to intuitively know where my body's issues were and massaged me in a way that was not painful but really effective. I had given up on getting massages prior to this one because they were usually so mediocre. Spa itself has no real amenities (just a locker room and relaxation room) but I much prefer a good service to a sauna. read more

I have been to Truce spa 3 times, all with either a Travelzoo or other voucher. It is always so clean, so serene, it feels like you have entered an oasis! I have gotten excellent facials, mani/pedi, and massages, but today was the best. My massage therapist was Jerica who was super nice and warned me she tended to use harder pressure. My massage was 60 minutes and I got to choose the scent of the lotion used. This was the most amazing massage. I think it was because Jerica is so knowledgeable about the body, she KNEW where my tight spots were, and worked out my knots. I didn't have to tell her (and in most cases I feel you don't always know) where I was most tense and I could feel my entire body relaxing. It was a bit painful, but she warned me of this-and advised deep breaths. It was awesome!! I liked it so much, I will totally return, even get the full 90 minutes! Truce is great! I find it to be the most relaxing spa I have been to in the area. Always water, tea, and a quiet, dimly lit lounge. Can't wait to return! read more

I visited Truce Spa today (for the 3rd time total) and saw Jenica for my massage. I am training for my 1st marathon and have 3 months to go. I practice Physical Therapy and am very well versed in the science and art of massage. I have NEVER been so pleased with my services at a Spa. I have traveled to South Africa, Italy, Southern France and have had multiple experiences around the world with massage. She not only knew how to treat my problem areas with the right pressure, and with the right modality; she EDUCATED me on things! She had a peaceful energy and was personable. She provided an unfounded level of comfort that is unique, even to this field. Most massage therapist "go through the motions" but never did I feel so heard when speaking to her about my needs. The staff was able to get me in today, and was warm and professional upon entry and with exiting. I would recommend her and this Spa to anyone who needs some quality time to relax or treatment for musculoskeletal problems. read more

I have been to this spa many times. The place is great. Very peaceful and all the massages and facials have been great. I love the lotions they use. I went there again last weekend as part of my Birthday gift from my dude. Massage was good however, my facial was excellent. I have been looking for a really good Aesthetician and I might have found one now. I will definitely use her again and I cannot wait to go back. My skin feels and looks great. I had a Groupon for my sister and myself, and had NO problem making an appointment for both of us at the same time, and only one week out. I was really apprehensive given what some of the reviewers were saying, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have had lots of spa treatments from all over the country, and this was one of the best! I would go back in a heartbeat, and would pay full price. Everything was first rate (except the shampoo and conditioner smelled like medicine). They left you feeling relaxed and well massaged, and the facial was fantastic. My therapist was excellent! read more

My mom and I have gone to truce a handful of times each, and love it. The reclining room is an absolute oasis, the robes and slippers they provide are very comfortable, and the changing room is clean and has many products for you to use (Also, the floors of the shower are made of round, river rocks that massage your feet so well... I'm DYING to have this kind of floor in my own bathroom). I love the spa products they use and usually leave with one after coming in for a facial. I have to say that I was very happy with the massage I had. Manicure and Pedicure was a waste of money. I also had a eye brow wax and it was a waste of time and money. Not the "SPA" I thought it would be. I've emailed the spa/Hotel twice and have not received any replies. I'm very disappointed in the service. Phung is the worst! She scrubbed and scratched my face off. She was incredibly rough and it was not relaxing at all! I will never come back. Maybe she wanted to hurt me. She yanked my arm up into the air and pulled my muscle out so hard that I still suffer from pain. This was the most painful and horrible facial I have ever had. I had a massage with Makaya three weeks ago and now I am back again for another massage with her. She has a great energy about her and my body felt in-tune when I left. Perfect pressure! I love that I get to hang out in the infrared sauna for a half an hour prior to my appointment. I suggest the 90 minute massage. When you add the free 30 minute infrared sauna to this, it feels like you are getting a package at a really good price! read more

A short while ago one of my friends posted a review here after sadly a bad experience with this spa. In response the owner of this spa chose not to respond, but one of the practitioners elected to email my friend. The email was inappropriate and highly unprofessional and unfortunately written by the only good practitioner we had met during our spa night. Our experience was a negative one. We were rushed out the door, our treatments were rushed and the spa made no attempt to admit that they had in fact let down six paying clients. In my opinion this spa is likely fine for a single service but just isn't at par with a more professional spa that you would expect in a hotel setting. Management may want to review their client care philosophy and their participation in a service like Yelp. If a client is unsatisfied with a service- look for opportunities to improve- don't further embarrass your organization by responding with inappropriate emails. Highly recommend taking a cab and booking at a spa with a more client centred approach. read more

Horrible spa experience . Booked for a birthday party with a bunch of girlfriends. A few of us arrived on time (early) while a few arrived later by a few mins. There was confusion on their side about food ordered to spa and instead of taking the girls that had arrived they made us wait for the others and then decided to cut our appointments. My facial that would have been 1 hour was only 40 mins - I walked into the room and the lady was like I have another client after you and the next girl so I will just give you each 40 mins. When i asked her if she was just going to charge me less she just said no I still charge for the hour! She spent the better part of the treatment talking about how good she was at her job and the facial was mediocre with brief rubbing of my arms that I guess she called a massage. Checkout was also a disaster - the receptionist was ill prepared or just didn't know how to do her job. Overall experience Awful and would not return. Nice change rooms and great location within the hotel so I give 2 stars. read more

I was gifted with a 60min massage & loved it! Had a great experience from the moment I walked in & was checked in by the sweetest front desk girl, Ashia! She was very knowledgeable about other servies, as well as all the products in the spa. I also got to meet the owner, Carolyn who was in at the time. Super sweet & welcoming. It was nice to see an owner who actually puts time & tlc into her business! She even hand makes the candles sold in the spa & proceeds go towards a program she started to support human trafficking victims. I mean how awesome is THAT?! The massage table was nicely heated & warm, which I wasn't expecting! Their lounge area was the perfect place to unwind my mind & stress from the week. It's dimly lit w/comfy chairs & blankets, and complimentary tea/spa water. You are open to use the sauna before or after your massage, which is a nice perk. And afterwards they offer a complimentary glass of wine! Overall, great first time experience. Would love to come back & check out their other services! read more

The review is based off an accumulation of experiences at Truce Spa. First when I called on Thursday December 10th to schedule a couples massage I was specific that this was a SURPRISE gift for my fiancé. The scheduler then preceded to take all of my information and additionally asked for my fiancés information as well as his phone number. She never specified that you receive a reminder text the day of your appointment, if that had been specified I would not have provided my fiancés phone number like she asked!! So we got there and the surprise was actually spoiled which was extremely frustrating given that I made a point to communicate that this was a surprise. Also when I scheduled the lady did not provide information regarding the location of Truce Spa, I would have greatly appreciated knowing it was actually IN THE WESTIN, but had no idea and we wandered around aimlessly for awhile and even when I called to clarify location, no one answered the phone. Luckily the people at the WESTIN were helpful. We got to the spa around 20 min early and the gal at the front desk checked us in and showed us to the locker rooms. I got to my locker and there were no slippers or robe in the locker and when I went out to find the receptionist she was no where to be found so I wandered around for about 5 min looking for her. Finally found her and she opened another locker and found me a robe and slippers. She was apologetic but just seemed scattered and confused. We hung out in the lounge for a bit and she gave us intake forms but was unclear what to do with them, I didn't know if we should wait for the massage therapists or if she was coming back for the forms etcccc so I found it hard to relax when I couldn't find her to give her the forms (again she disappeared from the front desk) and I didn't know what to do with the forms. The massage therapists were very nice when they got us from the lounge but they didn't introduce themselves or ask if we had had massages before. They asked what lotion we wanted and if we had any focus areas. We go into the room and the tables weren't even in the right places, the therapists had to waste time repositioning tables offering the excuse the room was just used for some other type of service. I'm paying over 200$ for this, at the very LEAST the room should be 100% ready. The massage itself was good and relatively relaxing and my therapist was professional (but I still don't know his name) but my partner and I were pretty far away from one another and although I've never had a couples massage and I understand the need for the therapists to have space around the table but I found it excessive. Additionally my therapist had good pressure but was a bit uneven, in that he would do certain techniques on one side that were not repeated in the same way on the other side in some instances and I found it unsettling. Following the massage the therapists provided us with cucumber water and gave us a proper tour of the facility which was nice since the receptionist failed to do so. They directed us to the sauna where we sat for about 15 min and then headed back to the locker rooms, showered, and got dressed. I appreciated that the locker rooms had toiletries and a hair dryer. We then paid and left. Overall left feeling like it wasn't at all worth the 230$ I spent. I am a graduate student on a fixed income and I do not have the luxury to spend money frivolously and I understand things can't be perfect but this was a very special thing for us since we do not really have disposable income. My experience was an accumulation of frustrating and avoidable miscommunications and just meh service that employees of Truce Spa could have prevented given appropriate levels of communication and facility knowledge. I won't be going back and I honestly wouldn't recommended it to anyone. read more
