I had a good experience moving with Plymouth Relocation Services. I've moved myself a couple of times and although it's cheaper, it's much more of a headache. The relocation specialist quoted me a good price but I elected not to use their packing service since I had most of my items boxed up already. When the crew came I started to carry a box to the truck and Paul told me that my job was to make sure they got everything in the truck and not to lift anything, I didn't complain about that. They carefully loaded and wrapped everything onto the truck.The only thing I was a little confused about was a TV. My sister won a 60 inch flat screen so she gave me her 42 inch a day before I moved. I ended paying $30 for the box since she didn't have the original. Everything arrived on time and nothing was broken. One of the guys on the moving crew was really nice and helped me put together and small TV cabinet that I had just bought while the other guys brought the boxes in. I appreciate the hard work and extra thanks to John for helping me with TV stand that was soooo complicated to put together. read more

They mention their better business bureau ratings which convinced me to use them... worst decision. I still haven't gotten my load... WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WASTE OF MONEY, WASTE OF TIME TERRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT HIRE THEM- They cheated me taking my money taking all my goods and I still have no update on when it will be delivered. Its been 2 months now and i have no update after my goods were loaded on Sep28th for a move from philadelphia Pa to California. Each time I call they respond stating they have no update. Everyone on the moving team was on time and overall we think they did a good job. They were efficient and moved us as quickly as possible. Our relocation specialist was great and detail orientated setting up our quote and listing our inventory. My only complaint was our sofa got dinged on the bottom back leg but it's in a place no one will notice. I had a three man crew that moved us from the third floor without any elevator and they never left the truck unsupervised which my husband and I appreciated. Their rate was competitive and the service was good. Everyone was respectful and professional and made our move much easier than we thought it would be. read more

My first moving quote I received was almost double the amount that I received from Plymouth Relocation and the reviews were similar. Some were good, some were not so good. The relocation specialist I worked with called me back three times so I could let him know what we were going to take and what we planned on selling so I appreciated his attention to detail. When they came to pick everything up we had a little bit of a complication getting a custom made table through the door. I have a great big coffee table that was custom made and assembled inside, and they used wood glue and wooden dowels for the legs so they weren't coming off by pulling on them., One of the guys on the moving crew broke off one of the legs. Whether or not it could have gotten through the door with the leg on remains a mystery but at least I was able to get it back on again once they delivered everything. Jay and his crew did good unloading everything. We had a flight of stairs and not a big hallway so I know it wasn't easy for them. I'm still inspecting boxes but as of now, there is nothing broke that I packed myself. It was a quick move and Plymouth was reliable. read more

This wasn't a really big move but we did have to move my mother-in-law with us which made coordinated it a little more difficult. The relocation specialist was gracious enough to call my mother in law back several times in order to get all her inventory. The whole idea was to make the two separate stops and get all of our items on the same truck. Our pickup was changed a week prior to pick up due to one of the trucks needing servicing. My mother in law wasn't happy about it but they gave me plenty of notice and it was only a one day difference. When they came and picked everything up at her apartment they ran into a few snags which was she didn't have some of the smaller items packed (coffee maker, toaster). Jeremy, one of the movers packed that up along with a few other smaller items for her. Once they got to our residence they were able to move fairly fast. We got a small dent in the wall going out with my oversized sofa but aside from that they did a good job not tearing up the walls. We needed them to hold everything for us for about two weeks while we got everything arranged at our new place but when it was delivered my mother in law was there checking every single box with a magnifying glass as if she expected stuff to be broken and damaged. Much to here surprise, everything came in one piece. The guys put our boxes in the appropriate rooms along with the furniture pieces and got moms bed setup up which finally made her happy. All around everything worked out aside from the reschedule. read more

I should have known from the beginning when the sales person was rude and the paperwork was incorrect with respect to the cost. In addition there are too many different companies in the process. Not enough care about customer experience. Very much feels like a bait and switch. Things just get more expensive. Promises unkept. Delivery late. Wouldn't recommend. I don't know how this company has a good BBB rating. Also, they will broker your move and you have no idea how that company is rated. The worst part is that you have no recourse. You cant return anything or refuse to pay for bad service. They have your stuff and you have to cooperate. read more

Everyone at Plymouth was helpful and I appreciate there patience. I was on a tight time schedule and it seemed like every company I called was quoting me a lot higher than Plymouth for the exact same service, Word of advice, if possible, don't wait until the last minute to call a mover unless necessary. Cory was very thorough in explaining everything about the moving process and what was covered in the move and what would cost extra. Most of my stuff was already boxed up but I did have some bulky items but they didn't charge me extra for them. My biggest fear was incurring additional charges on the back end because I had a very tight budget for this move. When they picked everything up they were careful in not to damage any walls or furniture as they carried it out to the truck. They wrapped all my furniture as he said they would. Delivery day was on time, I had my big brother there to help but the foreman Craig emphatically refused because he said that's what I was paying them for, my brother was extremely happy about that :) They actually made it feel like fun because we all joked but at the same time they worked non-stop until everything was unloaded and boxes were placed in the rooms they were marked. It wasn't until after they left that I noticed my box that I had vases in was damaged on the outside. When I opened it up, two of three were broken. It was a little depressing because I have had them for a while and one was a gift from a friend. My brother told me I should have paper wrapped them before I boxed them but I was in a rush and didn't have the time. Aside from that, everyone did a good job. read more

I think I probably aged 10 years on this move, don't ever try to move with four dogs and two cats. The only upside of the process was working with the people at Plymouth Relocation. The sales rep was really nice, I got another estimate from another company and he price matched it which was great because I didn't want to start the process over with another company. The foreman of the moving crew has the patience of a saint. When they came to load my furniture and boxes, my husband and I were still packing up and he patiently waited for us because we were behind. My biggest concern was being able to get the upright piano out in one piece because of the way my house was designed. When I moved in they sold me the piano so I wasn't sure how they got it in but the guys did good getting it out and on the truck in one piece. We had a window for the delivery and they came at the end of it which worked out good because we were having carpet installed and would have had to put most of our stuff in the garage and then move it ourselves later. The guys unloaded everything and set up a few of the pieces that they took apart at our old place and moved my piano three times (I couldn't decide where I wanted it). They did a good job coordinating everything around my schedule the best that they could which was a blessing, considering all the other things I had to take care of prior to our move. Needed to move my mothers items cross country asap and out of all the quotes we received we chose Plymouth. We couldn't be any happier. The moving coordinator that we spoke to was very knowledgable and laid out all the details and answered any questions that we had. I had some doubts at first but after speaking to the customer service and quality assurance department my mind was put at ease. We got a courtesy call the day before pickup and they let us know what time to expect them. Unlike the cable companies they showed up on time. We decided to go with a full pack because I couldn't be there physically and they handled my mothers belongings with the utmost care. The items were delivered in the time frame given to us so were prepared and now she is all set up in her new place. Moving can be stressful but with a company like this you'll be in great hands. read more

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS! This has been the move from hell. The set up process was all done very easily and the customer service agent who handled it was fast and very helpful. What they don't mention to tell you is that they only set up the move. They hire other companies that you have never heard of to do the ACTUAL move. Also, as soon has the movers pick you up, Plymouth, had no legal responsibility to anything. The contract states that a long distance move can take up to 21 business days max. The movers picked up my things on may 29th. It's is now July 14 and my things still haven't even left California with no hopes of leaving anytime soon. I can rarely get them on the phone and when I call Plymouth, all they can tell me is what I already know. My things are still in CA and the movers are having routing issues. They said I can file a claim for money back. ( yes I would like a refund but I would like my things more!) I have been speaking with Andrea the manager from Plymouth. The most unhelpful person EVER. no one can give me an ETA on when my stuff will get here and the moving company that picked up my things (Transunion van lines) gives me the run around every time I call and never follows up on anything. The company, as they state is not a moving company. They are a moving broker, who then outsources the actual move to a moving company. The moving company that we had the pleasure of being partnered with had appalling reviews. Please feel free to look them up. I have no hope that we will see our belongings ever again. Had we known that Plymouth, who prides themselves on their BBB rating, partnered with such an abysmal moving company, I would have gladly forfeited my deposit and searched for a more reputable company. But of course, we didn't know this until Barry's Moving Inc. showed up to collect our entire lives and we had no choice but to move forward. They picked up our belongings on May 26th. We provided them a move date of June 21, which is when we were able to move into our new residence in Arizona. Now, before I confirmed and made a deposit, my very first question to the Plymouth rep. was "when do you suggest I schedule my pick-up to ensure that my things will arrive by June 21?" I was told to have my things collected by the end of May. I decided on a May 26th pick-up date with the Plymouth representative, to ensure my things would be received by June 21. My fiancé is starting medical school and departing for a mission trip with his medical school the week after, so June 21 was a firm date and we booked early enough. We thought there was no issue and no cause to worry. I won't even harp on the fact that, of course the final balance, according to Barry's, was $500+ more than the initial estimate, and the blank bill of lading doesn't show how we were supposedly over the amount of space by 300 cubic feet (according to Barry's), despite the fact that I gave meticulous measurements, and quantities to ensure this very thing would not happen. For example: In my original estimate, I included a queen size bed, mattress and frame, which we did not bring. I estimated a 50+ inch TV which ended up being 42 inches. There was no documented or mathematical evidence of being "over the amount of space by 300 cubic feet." But again, we won't harp on that. I will harp on the fact that my belongings have been out of my sight since May 26th and it is now July 2nd. I have had to call Plymouth and Barry's Moving Inc. numerous times to attempt to discuss: 1. The blank bill of lading which supposedly outlines any overage and justifies the added $500+ plus I am due to pay if/when my things arrive. How can this happen if it's blank? 2. When will I get my things that you have had in your possession since May?!? This was our first time moving cross country and certainly did not have the knowledge that we now have about the process. I urge anyone to please learn from our mistake and do not use this company. Speak to friends, family and acquaintances who have gone through the process and get suggestions. Use a company that utilizes GPS tracking so you can track your load OR stick a GPS in one of your boxes. I am so heartbroken that I trusted this company. Mostly, I am so sad that my poor finance, who is starting medical school, has to have this awful experience as his introduction to our new life. We are beyond stressed, with time ticking until he starts med school (he's gone on the mission trip and had to purchase almost everything new, prior to his departure because the truck did not arrive) and we are looking into escalating this further. The overall message is simply to pay more for peace of mind and better service. read more

First of all, I want to make it clear that Plymouth is not a moving company - they are a moving broker. Beware of anyone who provides you with a moving estimate without actually seeing your belongings. Despite my best efforts to give them an accurate inventory of our belongings (and several updates after the initial inventory), we ended up paying double what Plymouth had quoted us for our move. Once the sales rep had locked up the deal, he was very slow to respond to my e-mails (a further indication that Plymouth was eager to get my business but not to ensure that I had a positive experience). We did not know which company would actually be handling our move until the day before the move occurred, and by then there was nothing we could do. When I called Plymouth regarding our many concerns with our experience (see list below), they just passed the buck to the moving company and said that there was nothing they could do. They seemingly could not have cared less. In and Out Moving handled the first part of our move. We had a number of complaints about In and Out, but here are the primary ones: 1. They showed up several hours late, which pushed the move into the late hours of night (we ended up having to spend the night in sleeping bags and leaving a day late) 2. They had a couple of crew members who showed up even later thatn the first ones, and apparently they weren't doing a good job and so were asked to leave. They then brought on a "back up" person who was not a professional mover but rather just a friend of one of the other guys on the crew. 3. They had inadequate packing materials, including a bunch of previously used boxes from Panda Express that were quite pungent. 4. They charged us ridiculous fees far beyond what we'd been quoted by Plymouth. They also tried to charge us exorbitant fees for packing materials, including the tape that we saw them waste repeatedly (using only 2/3 of the roll before discarding it). 5. They did a sub-par job packing our belongings, including throwing my wedding dress carelessly into a garment box (from which we'd been assured our clothes would hang neatly). Also, as a result of their poor packing, a number of our items were damaged, including our new flat screen TV getting smashed and being rendered unusable. 6. They had us sign a document before they started packing our things stating that we'd been informed of the freight overage rates, but then they actually filled in these rates after we'd already signed the document (very shady). 7. They broke our wooden dog crate by trying to disassemble it (when it was not meant to come apart). At no point did they check with us before trying to do this. 8. They drank beer while there were still items to be packed and then littered the cans in our alley. 9. They outsourced the second half of the move (delivery) to yet another company. There was a severe lack of communication between the companies re. payment and logistics, resulting in further delays to our receipt of our items. Additionally, they were supposed to give us 24-48 hours heads up re. delivery time, but they gave us only 2 hours. All in all, we were incredibly dissatisfied with our moving experience, and it ended up costing way more than Plymouth had told us that it would. Unless you can fully vet all companies who will be involved in your move (which is certainly not an option with this company), I would steer clear of moving brokers altogether. But I would especially avoid Plymouth. And if you do choose to use them, definitely purchase additional moving insurance. We had well over $1000 in damages, and after a lengthy and frustrating claims process we were offered a settlement of $60. read more

I called in last week and spoke with James. Unsure of the process he walked me through the quote estimate and I told him I would let him know. I wanted to shop around. I never felt any pressure but James assured me that this was the best deal I would get based on my move from RI to New Jersey. I did some shopping around and realized I was given the best deal with James so I ended up booking with him to lock in my rate. The movers arrived on time and did an excellent job. No complaints Delivery was on time and were also able to move my car. No damages and great customer service when I had questions during the move. Would use this company again. read more

Not at all happy with this experience. At the beginning they made it seem easy and assured me that the price they quoted me wouldn't change if I had given an accurate depiction of all of the items I was moving, which I did... I didn't have one item over the original list I gave them, but when it came down to the delivery (which by the way took several days longer than they originally promised) the moving company demanded an extra $200 for some Misc. charge before they would unload my stuff into the new apt. very frustrating.. I still haven't gotten a call back from the "customer service" at Plymouth moving company about this issue, and at this point I don't know what on earth they could say to make things right. read more

I had a terrible experience here. I will be as logic based and non emotional about this as possible, for those to learn from my experience based on the facts. First the salesman on the phone promised me I'd get my stuff within 2-3 days from the date I said for delivery. It took over 2 weeks, almost 3. When I called to find out where my things were, they said it was in contract that it could take up to 3 weeks and I should have read it. Yes, I can take the fault and learn from this. With that said, when a salesman tells you one thing, and then goes back on their word, this created much more stress. Along with the analogy, when you click agree to the new iTunes update, do you read all those pages? And people only move across the country, once or twice in their life. That seems to be a contingent worth verbalizing. Also, I realized this was a salesman. Promising me the best service from one of the best moving companies. What I realized, besides the complete lack of trust and going back on what he verbally promised, was that it's worth talking directly to a moving company and no reason to call Plymouth relocation services, because the just distribute the work to which ever mover is available. This means I paid well more just for him to contact them rather than do a little more digging myself. Again, something I did not realize as it was my first time moving. I was also promise, that they wouldn't add charges when they picked up my stuff. He reiterated how other movers do that to play games and they don't. After being reassured they're so prestigious, the day comes to move and I am charged an extra $550. Because I am in a pinch to move soon, and they told me only after they fully loaded the truck, and didn't have much choice but to accept. The drivers themselves were not in the business of customer service. Whenever I'd call the company, they'd say they couldn't get in touch with the driver. Which turned my stomach to wonder if all my belongs in my life were lost completely. Then they'd give me the drivers number to call myself. Which would end in short conversations stating "I'll be there within a 2-3 days," on several occasions. Then they'd say they were busy and hung up before further elaboration or protest that they'd said that two weeks ago. Just to make me feel like, oh good at least its going to be soon, and then keep waiting, over and over. Lastly, I finally got my stuff today. I several broken dressers, chairs, and personal items. While they made me pay for their services upfront in cash before unloading the truck, they took no responsibility for the broken items. And told me to make a claim, which will take 5-6 months to process. I've slept on my floor for the first three weeks of my apartment because of the lack of communications and empty promises. They're unreliable on time and the condition of my things. Let alone rude to no regard. read more

If I could rate this company lower than a one star I would. Absolutely terrible experience. After you pay the deposit Plymouth no longer cares what happens. I was charged more than my quoted price. There were hidden fees I was not told about about. Customer service was absolutely terrible. When I called to voice my concerns I was called names and treated terribly. The movers didn't show up until midnight and was told if they didn't move it then they wouldn't be returning and I would lose my money. They couldn't give me an estimated arrival date until days after they moved me out, and when I did receive my belongings a lot of big pieces of furniture were damaged. After calling a few of the major van lines for our move and getting prices upwards of 10k we went to a couple of website and requested multiple quotes from different carriers. I received what seemed like twenty phone calls from different moving companies of which most I had not heard of before. While I was doing some research I found almost all the companies had a couple of bad reviews regarding over pricing, late delivery, damages, etc. It's hard to choose because we felt a little nervous with all of them. The rep I spoke with at Plymouth was Justin, he was by far the most forthright with me from the beginning. He informed me that there were some bad reviews concerning his company and he told me they had some management issues for a while. Since then they have implemented a quality control procedure to eliminate a lot of the issues that customers were unhappy about. Something I noticed about him was he was the only specialist I spoke with that when we went through my inventory, he wanted me to double check it to make sure that I didn't exclude anything and he didn't include anything that I was not moving. We had to make 3 to 4 changes to the final estimate before I signed it but he was patient enough with me to answer any questions and make the necessary changes I needed. I was a little concerned about paying any overages and was told that my rate was binding and would not change which I was happy with. The day of the pick-up they were two hours late which I didn't appreciate it but with that being said it was not a huge deal because the rest of the move went uneventful. The guys who came in to load everything were friendly and outgoing. Frank marked off every piece of furniture listed on the estimate as it was loaded. I told him that I wanted my armoire cabinet to have additional padding because it has been in the family for half a century and they took care of it for me. The delivery window worked out as well. Realistically, we initially thought it would take us fifteen days to receive our furniture but it came in nine. My wife went through everything once they unloaded the furniture. The only thing that was broke or damaged was two plates in boxes that I packed. Other than that we were in good shape. There were some other companies that had better reputations but they weren't as thorough as Justin or IMO, honest as he was. I'm glad that I gave them a chance and we did business toghether. If I ever have to move I will be calling them back. read more

I would not recommend Plymouth Relocation Services. The representative, Sean, with whom I talked presented as kind and knowledgeable; however, it turned out he was best at saying what I wanted to hear in order to get me to agree. Within our conversation I was assured that the movers they used would carefully pack my supplies, place them on the truck, and the same movers and truck would be with my items the entire time. This was not the case. And the moving company they used were upfront with me about this, though by the time I found out I had already paid a deposit and couldn't back out. There were a few reasons why I agreed to this company more hastily than I typically would, one of which is I was short on time and that was pointed out to me from their end as well. Initially Sean was also quick to respond to my questions I emailed him. However, after I put down the deposit he answered my email regarding the following situation and after that stopped responding all together. The last reason is the representative told me if I found a comparable company they would price match. I did find a comparable company and sent him the information, I was told it wouldn't work and the only reason the company information I gave had an A rating with BBB was because they paid for their BBB accreditation. However, one of the reasons he told me Plymouth was a good company was because of their rating with the BBB. I was also told their drivers are only able to travel 300 miles per day, and estimated my belongings would arrive in 6-8 days. Yes, I was aware this was an estimate. However, in talking with the moving company they used I instead found out they were waiting for another shipment in order to fill up the truck and the 300 miles per day rule did not apply. There was also varying information on what form of payments would be accepted. In short, most all of the information I was given from Plymouth Relocation Services was not true. LIARS! Just because they can take advantage of people...they do! Plymouth Relocation Services covers itself perfectly. Everything is in writing and i'm sure others out there like myself realized that WE are to blame for believing what we are told on the phone during their first sales calls. They also lead you to believe they are a moving company with trucks of their own, the way they talk about "booking" you on a truck, moving schedules, how the process will go etc. I was promised by the person I spoke with when I contracted with them that HE would personally be in charge of my move and in contact every step of the way and after the fact I could not get a hold of him. When you have a problem, concern or issue and call Plymouth, you are practically talked to from a script. I am just not sure how any of these people sleep at night, knowing that they are constantly fooling people. All I wanted, after my son's belongings were picked up was to have an HONEST answer as to when his stuff would arrive. We were sold on sharing a truck with two others going from the Chicago area to the Lansing area. They contracted the move out to a company that showed up in a budget rental truck, who didn't answer a phone for 6 days and finally delivered 8 days later in a budget rental truck. Again, they have not broken any laws as far as I can see because they cover themselves totally in writing. They just prey on people like us who take people at their word. I've had 19 moves in my life....many across country and two International and I got fooled. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from this company! read more

No one calls you before pick up, contracts and deals are null and void once turned over to actual movers. As someone whose moved a few times due to job relocations moving is second nature. I've always used moving company's for my moves which has always been a gamble because each company has different rules and guidelines. After speaking to a few companies I decided to go with Sean from Plymouth. It was pretty cut and dry with the way moving goes he explained how the process works as he had me go through my house naming off the items I had (I'm pretty meticulous and thorough) so he told me how things were expected to be packed which made it easier when the movers showed up. I was given a window of 5-7 business days which was pretty quick for a long distance move and was worried they would beat me to my destination but I was told that they offer free storage which was another reason why I went with Plymouth. Everything went accordingly from the time I put down my deposit to the time my items were delivered. As I promised Sean if I had a good move I'd wrote a good review so thank you guys for all your help hopefully I won't be needing it in the future but If I do I know who I'll call. read more

The calls being recorded are only used to work in their benefit. The price went from $1900 the original "false estimate"to $4120. I had 3 rooms; no couch,no dressers, no dining tables... Just want others to understand they can't actually believe the original quotes and don't provide any deposits until they send you the contract. Something they don't discuss is the price per lb that are charging. $.41 a pound. That's a markup rate. read more

I will never use a moving company like this one. They are brokers not local movers.They charge a lot . I was rushed by a Justin Moore (NY)who quickly gave me a quote and rushed me to get a deposit, the inventory was quoted wrong by him. I was very detail describing my sofas recliners which have metal on each side. Many medium plastic containers that I even measured for him to enter the right size. Some other company guys (TX)showed up to pick up my stuff with a very small and inaccurate list. Jose started whining that my sofas were too big, my bed is king, he had it listed as queen. Oh and to top it up ONE GARDEN TOOL! listed when I listed about 30 items under that category. The dishonest guy started adding up charges to my list, I call Customer Service spoke with a Supervisor woman who just kept repeating that I signed the contract and she could not help. Then this Jose flat out said if I gave him a good TIP it would be no problem to take my stuff. I was very confused by that. I ended up not taking my bed, gave this Jose $100.00 and he mentioned the delivery people will be someone else and that they would try to get money too. When our stuff came to California, Sergio (?) started asking me for money stating that there was no access for an 18 wheeler in my apartment. They came on a small Budget truck anyway. tried to charge me $300.00 for over the 50 feet walk to my apartment. the same way he hinted for "good tip ' to settle things. We tipped him $100.00 Checked my dishes only have 2 that did not brake. Took our Dolly. These 3 companies have the most dishonest people I have ever met. If I could give them 0 zero stars I would. Unprofessional and rude. The absolute worst! Please, please read this review and take it into consideration before you go with this company. I've been in the military for 16 years and moved at least 10 times via the military and by moving companies which I choose. This was by far the WORST service I have ever experienced in my life. First, they pressure you into booking your move on the first call. At first I did not realize the representative, Jules Driver, was trying really hard to make a sell and told me what I wanted to hear to make it complete. The day I was supposed to get my "quality assurance" call (as they call it). I called in because no one called me. This was a horrible phone call as I was forced to lock in my move or forfeit my initial deposit. Which trust me, if I had known what was to come, I would have taken the $800 loss. During this call the rep, Jules Driver, yelled at me and accused me of calling him a liar during this 1 hour conversation. He then apologized when he realized, what I was saying was truthful. As I recanted our previous conversation in our initial call. I called several times to speak to a supervisor, billing department, complaint department, etc. because my move order was incorrect. Well, apparently this is a small company. As every time I called they said they had no human resources or billing department. Each time I called I was passed on to another male, who all sounded just alike and all had a name that started with J (Jason, John, Jules, etc), ironic? I think, not. Throughout this ordeal, which I can write a 5 page paper on, my move dates were mixed up with the dispatcher, my deposit was mixed up with the dispatcher and I was lied to and treated with much disrespect over the phone. I was yelled at multiple times and even was hung up on by a supervisor. You may think if I was rude, no I was not. I tried to explain my side, and the last so called "supervisor" would not hear me out. Accused me of lying and hung up on me, yes you read this right. My sister heard him yelling on the other side of the phone and was in shock of the treatment. Plymouth has these types of employees. I wish I was rude, I wish I was irate and not understanding to receive this treatment, but I was not. To make matters worse, my pick up was delayed by the dispatchers, they had the incorrect paperwork and they charged me an additional approx. $500, claiming I was over the size limit (which I overestimated during my quality assurance call by approx. 40 additional boxes.) The dispatch never showed me the exact measurements on how I was over my square footage. How could I have gone over even though I overestimated my box count by 40 additional boxes? By this time, I was so stressed and fed up, I let them take my stuff and gave them the extra money. I needed to move because I was leaving the state during the weekend. Wait it gets better...I paid an extra $500 to Plymouth to get a guaranteed delivery date range of 3 days. I am in the military and was due overseas shortly after my move. This was a personal move not covered by the military. However, I had to leave the new location at a certain date, hence the reason I paid $500 extra to get my 3 day delivery date. Well, dispatch calls me the day before the date saying they can't deliver. Although I paid the additional, $500. Well I had no option, I was leaving the next day. Needless to say after experiencing much heartache with dispatch and no help from Plymouth. They brought my goods on the very last "guaranteed day". This was after many phone calls and stress over whether my goods & belongings will make it on time. I can only hope you read this whole review and take it under consideration. Save yourself the stress and suffering of dealing with Plymouth and their horrible service. Along with the dispatch companies they are partnered with. DO NOT use them. DO NOT USE! They quote you as low as possible so you agree while saying it is pound based. They quoted me at $1500 for a small one bedroom apartment move. After the picked up my stuff they told me it was going to be another $700 because I was over square footage. The salesman only mentioned weight and said I would be fine. Once the truck came they charged another $300 because it was too far from the truck which was an 18 wheeler that couldn't fit anywhere. So it wasn't $1500 it was $2500. I hired Plymouth Relocation Services to move my personal items; two bicycles; and a twin bed from a 341 square foot condo as well as approximatey 10-15 boxes from a near-by storage unit.. All furniture, dishes, towels, and so forth were to stay in the condo because the condo was being put on a rental program. Plymouth quoted me a price of approximately $2500 for the move, which seemed reasonable since I was only moving my personal items from a 341 square foot condo; clothing; and about 10 packed boxes from a storage unit. Plymouth Relocation Services contracted with Unique Moving and Storage to do the move and indicated the move would cost $2400. I say again that I contracted Plymouth several times to tell them of the items I was moving. I did not want any surprises at moving time. And asked them to ensure that the price they were charging me covered all the items, including trip to storage unit to get about 15 packed boxes. Plymouth assured me that the charge was correct. Unique arrived late in the afternoon, threw items into big boxes--not packed but flung in, including flinging my Kosta Boda vase, jewelry, clothing, books, etc. in the big box and loaded it on the truck, Unique Moving and Storage, a subcontractor of Plymouth Relocation Services, presented me with a bill of $9000 and told me the items would be thrown off the truck into the parking lot or taken to their storage unit (and I would be charged for storage) if I didn't pay. It is important to note that Plymouth Relocation Services was informed every step of the way during the booking process as to what was being moved. The cost of the move was increased several times; and I was charged and already paid $2400 for the move. I made sure to speak with Plymouth many times during the booking process to ensure that they had all the information necessary to price the move correctly and to inform the company with whom they contracted of the price. As I said, the condo was being rented furnished with dishes, towels, and everything necessary for someone to stay, eat, and be comfortable. The only thing the movers had to do was move my clothing, personal items such as jewelry and books, a twin bed. and some items from the bathroom, which they threw into a bog box. Then they had to drive to a storage unit to load approximately boxes, The movers came late and were in a hurry. On their packing list the movers provided no description of what was moved--just Box 1, Box 2, Box 3, etc so there is no way to make a claim for what was moved or not moved or never received. In addition, although Plymouth quoted me a price of around $2500--and remember I notified them every time I added an item--Unique presented me with a bill of more than $9000 for moving a 341 square foot condo of personal items, NOT furniture, and about 15 packed boxes from a storage unit, for which I made sure I told about and paid Plymouth Relocation Services. I told Unique Moving and Storage that my contract was with Plymouth and Plymouth was paid the amount they quoted for the move--$2400 and I wanted credit for that amount as well as my possessionI, Unique told me they had nothing to do with Plymouth and that I owed them $9000 or else they would throw the items off the truck in the parking lot or take them to storage and charge me. It was already very late at night and I had to leave the condo the next day, so I paid them with a check, under protest. I never heard from or spoke with Unique Moving and Storage concerning my shipment. As a result, I stopped payment on the check. I called them after waiting a reasonable amount of time and was told that they never heard of me or my shipment. Had no idea where it was. I still do not have my items and am still out the amount I paid Plymouth Relocation Services--$2400. Most of the items moved by Unique were just that--unique and valuable. Could never be replaced. I lost not only family heirlooms but valuable papers and documents. I have had to spend considerable time getting copies of those documents, when possible. And have to replenish an entire wardrobe, which takes up considerable time and money. I waited a while to write this review because I wanted the whole moving process completed before saying it was a good experience. (Which if you don't feel like reading further- it was, yes- a very good experience) I relocated a little over a year ago from NJ to NM. I had a good mover who did the job right and we were very impressed. I tried to hire the same company to move us again to NY (we definitely didn't plan on having to move again so soon but my hubby had to move due to work relocating him) So when we found out the company we used before was no longer open we got very nervous about starting to find another company to trust. We are well aware of the horrors that can ensue with a moving company. So we started the process again of looking for a mover. We spoke to all the different companies on the phone, as they each tried to sell us. When speaking with the people at Plymouth Relocation, we felt there was a level of honesty that lacked in the other companies we spoke with. The price was right, and the salesman was very knowledgeable and informative. We took the plunge and hired Plymouth to do the move. Now the pickup went very well- professional crew of 4 men who expeditiously blanketed and loaded our items. They were friendly and courteous and made us feel comfortable about moving forward with them. We felt they treated our furniture and boxes with care and tipped the guys after a job well done. We did go into their storage for some time while we waited on our house to be ready (we were staying in a rental for almost 2 months). We called the company as soon as we found out the date of completion on the house and they said they would start delivering our items to us. Delivery from that point took a total of 2 weeks for an almost 2000 mile drive. We expected it would be more like 3-4 weeks so that was also a pleasant surprise. We recently received the delivery at our new house- and we were just as satisfied with the quality of work as at the pickup in NM. Professional, polite crew that treated our items with care. They assembled furniture pieces in our house, put all of the boxes in the designated rooms, and left us with a pleasant experience. We have now officially gone through all boxes and everything was delivered and in one piece. I can't believe I was able to strike gold twice, but this company is the truth- no games, no hassle, and very friendly staff from start to finish. Glad to have found them- if I (god forbid) have to move again which I pray we do not- I would hire them again. Recommended for those who don't feel like dealing with incompetence. read more

If we could rate it a zero, we would. This company (Barry's Moving, based in Brooklyn, assigned to us by Plymouth Relocation) is the worst! From the nasty tone we received when we first called to inquire about when our stuff would arrive in Fort Lauderdale after being picked up in Newark, to the hurried attitude of the movers who finally dropped off our boxes ten days after we arrived in our new apartment (they hemmed and hawed trying to get more money out of us until we finally just said to leave the boxes at the base of our steps, even though one flight was included free as per the contract), it was a disaster! They not only broke a very expensive lamp, they failed to deliver the drawer to a family heirloom antique desk. All the while, they had an uncaring attitude, even to the point of saying things like "we don't work for free" after they saw the stairs leading up to our new apartment. Do not EVER do business with this company. By the way, we were assigned to Barry's by Plymouth Relocation, which is also pretty bad when it comes to communicating and to assisting its customers who have questions regarding when their things might arrive. Avoid Plymouth as well. Terrible all around. We made a big mistake with this move. Never again! read more

Plymouth responded to an online request for a quote to relocate a grandfather clock from CA to IL. They were all over me during the sales process and came across as a professional company. They initially provided me one quote, but when they realized they were relocating a antique grandfather clock they suggested it be crated and charged me an additional $117 to crate it. When the clock was picked up at my sister's it was not crated and they said it would be done back at the warehouse. I called to express my concerns but they reassured me it was properly crated. When it was delivered, the clock was in fact not crated, and there were boxes containing the clock works that were crushed so I noted it on the delivery sheet and also took pictures to document everything. When I contacted Plymouth about the issue they said the clock "was in fact crated" and then lied that crating was "free". I have sent them the pictures of the clock and the boxes to show it was not crated, they have the delivery sheet where it is noted it was not crated, and now I have been trying to get a credit from them for several weeks now and they will not respond to multiple emails or two phone calls to customer service. Also, I didn't realize it when I booked the move, but they are a Broker, not the actual mover. You will save money and likely reduce your hassle if you go directly to the mover. Contact American, United, or a local mover and ask for whatever size move, even if it is small, they can help you without a middleman like Plymouth in the middle. read more

Listen to all the other negative reviews about this company they are all right!! I used Plymouth twice first when I moved myself back in march of this year and then for my mom in July. My move went great beside the moving company that they used as the third party All points moving when I opened my boxes to unpack half of my stuff was broken. So when I booked my moms I requested not to use them and guess what that's who showed up! Everything with this move went wrong. Plymouth was not helpful they blamed everything on me. I couldn't get anyone to call me back. The women in customer service is rude and condescending. She definitely should not have a job in customer service because she is HORRIBLE in it! They were supped to move my mom on a Friday moving trucks were supposed to be there between 8-10 in the AM the truck broke down and they finally called me at 12:30 in the afternoon to let me know this. Said they were sending another truck I couldn't get in touch with anyone all day including Plymouth finally the movers called me at 6:30pm said they were on their way. 9:30pm they called again they were still an hour away. I told them to turn around it's to late who moves at 10:30 at night. Plymouth blamed me for everything and that I turned them away. 2 weeks later my moms stuff finally got moved. The price was double what they estimated! Horrible wouldn't recommend this company to anyone!!! Don't even want to give them 1 star! read more

I haven't even had my car picked up by them yet but the customer service has been terrible!! By any means DO NOT use this company for anything they are terrible!! I had my car scheduled to be picked up Thursday or Friday and they told me that I would know 24 hours in advance when they would be at my residence to take my car. Its now 8 pm on Thursday and I have not received a phone call as they promised!! I called multiple times today and had a seemingly great phone call with a customer representative who promised me I would receive a call today sometime between 4-7 pm about my scheduled pick up time. I am now hanging out to dry about to move my place and I have to COMPLETELY reschedule my whole move because this company cant hold up the end of their bargain. Furthermore I have to reschedule my flight to my new residence since this has not been sorted out. Terrible company, terrible service! DO NOT USE THEM!!! read more
