I've ordered two steel doors from TruDoor over the last 9 months for a renovation project I'm managing. Both orders had issues. TruDoor made good on one. Not so much on the other. First order arrived with two issues: 1-missing hinge; they shipped a hinge inside of two weeks; not a huge deal 2-lockset was non-functional from day 1; I had a locksmith come out and look at the lockset TruDoor provided and he told me that it appeared damaged from the factory; TruDoor sent a replacement within 4 weeks (but it took a while (maybe 3 weeks) to get TruDoor to respond So, for Door #1, not great but they made good (eventually). The second door arrived with a large scratch on the door that required painting and a bit of bondo (because the scratch was deep enough that it was still visible after re-paint and the customer would not accept as is). I contacted Kalen (my rep) immediately upon receipt of the door with pictures. He was slow to respond (a norm, apparently), and when he did, he basically said: That's not an issue. You can just paint it. I explained to him that any issues that required me to do anything (other than install the door) would cost me money, and that I expected TruDoor to reimburse me for that (roughly 3 hours for bondo, sand and paint - so call it just under $200). Radio silence. No response to three additional emails and two voice mails. I would not buy from TruDoor again. I do about 6-8 renovation projects and 4 new builds per year. They've lost my business permanently. As far as I can tell, they are a drop shipper and work with contract manufacturers. Basically, they take your order, farm it out to whoever the cheapest contract manufacturer is and pocket the difference. The net effect of this is: if there are problems they have to fix, it's probably coming out of their profit margin and because of that, they do their best to not spend any money on solving your problem. I initially received some glass that was packaged poorly. I had to go back and forth with the customer service but eventually they were wiling to make right on their packaging mistake. The biggest take away I learned is make sure to check your product within 48 hours and you will have no problem with anything. Other than the initial hiccup, it has been very nice working with this company. read more

Zero customer service. Placed an order. Luckily took a screenshot of my order because I did not receive a confirmation email. Decided after a few days to contact customer service on the email listed on their own site to confirm order and shipping eta. No response. Sent another 2 days later. Nothing. A third. Nothing. 4th? Nothing. Never heard back. All in one day, 12 days later, received label created email, then tracking number created, then item received at carrier. Then 2 days later order delivered. Never received order confirmation or response to my emails. Zero customer service. read more

Dissappointed. They did not shipped the hardware on time. I am writing to express our deep disappointment regarding our recent order placed on April 8th. Today, April 16th, we followed up with a phone call and were informed that the order had not even been shipped yet. Only after our call did you confirm that it would be shipped today. This level of service is unacceptable. We expected timely processing and communication regarding our purchase. The lack of follow-up and delay without notice is both frustrating and unprofessional. read more

Purchased two solid core doors with two metal knock down frames. One door was proper machined and the other door NO MACHINING AT ALL. Emailed customer service with pictures of the problem. Received call and stated they would pit a rush on the replacement door. Over week later door finally being shipped out which will take a week to receive it. Employee error and no care to rush out replacement for their mistake. Cross them off my list for future purchases. read more

Hardware that was supposed to be "in stock" and shipped in "1 or 2 days" now says it will ship (theoretically) on May 1 - a month after order. Customer service has been terse, at best. Will not use this company again, and no guarantee we'll ever actually get what we ordered. read more

Ordered two Trilogy keypad locks with key fobs. One box contained the key fob the other did not. The box was not open until we were ready to complete the install which was a few weeks after we received the package. We contacted customer support and was informed that it was Trudoor policy that all missing items had to be reported with in 10 days and since we did not report it 10 days we would not receive a key fob. I thought that would be the end of it and I would have to buy a key fob but I received a phone from Trudoor stating that they would be sending out a key fob in place of the missing key fob. read more

I used you guys a couple of times and for now on I will never use again or recommend. I just recommended you guys for a good contractor that I know for a good size order for a project that we are doing together. They ordered the doors and now few things changed and they need some adjustments on the order. This when a sales representative named Andy Benkowsky is charging a arm and a leg to change a simple standard order, plus restocking fee... Really? For a order that still in progress. If I could give more stars I would. I initially called due to issues with the address I had provided and was frustrated due to needing a part for a job to close out with the contracting company I work for. After speaking with 3 different representatives, and being transferred I was able to speak with Bob Rizzo who was not only a TON of help but knew exactly what I was struggling with. I've been fighting a cold and could barley talk and bob was able to find the part I needed and get it shipped out THE SAME DAY! Bob, was a pleasure! He hoped I felt better and I later called back needing another part he quickly added it to the same shipment I had called for earlier and gave me all information I needed. After, he reached back out and advised he wanted to make sure I received the invoice for both parts. BOB RIZZO YOU ROCK! So far so good! I filled out a quote request on a very nice website after hours. I received an email with a competitive quote back within 15 minutes of their opening hours the next day. I called them prior to checking my email and a real, personable and intelligent human being (Geralyn) picked up after only 2 rings. She connected me right over to CorieJo in sales who expertly figured out what I was calling for and nicely informed me that my quote was already in my inbox! She then patched me over to Gwenna who had done my quote. Gwenna answered all my questions with great professionalism and forwarded me over to Natalie who processed my order nicely and efficiently. The worst company and Sales Reps I had ever had to deal with. I'm a General Contractor serving the great Phoenix area. I gave Trudoor a shot for the first time, and the result was horrifying. I had an order messed up by the Sales Rep Andy Benkowsky, who refused to correct it. We then tried to contact his supervisor, Patrick McManamon, several times, but the phone calls were never answered or returned. After two weeks, I received an email from Patrick offering to correct the order because he had heard another contractor's complaint. And his condition to correct the order was for me to have the contractor remove his complaint/review. I agreed, but soon after, I started receiving twisted emails from another Sales Rep from Trudoor, Kim Bearden, trying to force me to process another order and pay for it. This company doesn't take responsibility for any mistake and doesn't have any return policy. They tied to force me to keep an order that was never even picked up and refused to fix it; they also refused to refund the money and mainly tried to force me into another order to correct the initial one, which means that I would pay twice for the same order. Luckily my credit card company stepped in to protect us. As a contractor, one may understand that this kind of small matter has a significant impact on any project; it just not delays the project, as it causes loss and damage to the company, especially if we have a deadline. The bottom line is, SAVE TIME AND NEVER WORK WITH TRUDOOR. I made a HUGE mistake. If anyone needs proof of this review, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Thank you. read more

Ordered a double steel door to replace an older door that just didn't work right anymore. Trudoor doesn't install but recommended Bigelow door to do the install. The door was very nicely made and the installation by Bigelow door was excellent. Dan an TruDoor was easy to work with and patiently answered all my questions. But the true test of a company is how they handle things when they go wrong. In my case, a mistake was made when manufacturing the door frame which did not become apparent until after it was installed. In short, TruDoor fixed more than took care of the problem. I am very happy. Keep in mind, I'm a small fish, purchasing a single door from them but they took care of my issue. I'd buy from them again. read more
