Over the last 30 days I've attempted twice to use the online system to request an appointment and I have yet to receive a response from Trudys. If you have an online booking system, why not allow customers to actually book a space? Both my requests were met with a message that states someone along the lines of "THIS IS NOT A RESERVATION" and my request will have to be approved. What? What is there to approve? I've used several booking sites for bridal stores throughout the Bay Area and was able to click on an available date/time, pay the fee for the booking, and receive a confirmation immediately. What is this nonsense about my request being reviewed and approved? Do you not want business? Or are you looking for only certain clients? If I'm willing to pay the booking fee, and potentially lose it if I don't cancel, then what is the big deal? Thankfully, there are many other bridal boutiques that are responsive and helpful. Shout out to https://janenesbridal.com/. As a first stop it was everything I hoped for! The only reason I haven't "Said Yes to the Dress" is I need to do my due diligence of research. I could not suggest a more perfect place to find my wedding dress! I had gone to other bridal store to narrow down what I thought I wanted before coming to Trudy's in order to pick THE dress. Here is a little backstory: I have been coming to Trudy's for years now. I have said yes to two pageant gowns before, so I already knew I would have a good experience when I wanted to find my perfect wedding gown. I got to work with Didi who is amazing! We had the center stage appointment, and honestly, I highly suggest it! My friends were able to bring drinks and snacks and enjoy themselves watching me. When we first arrived, Didi took me shopping through the racks to see if there was anything I had already seen online or when I had come previously for the Allure fashion show I had wanted to try one. We started out by talking about the wedding and what styles I was looking for. I showed a few pictures and described the style I was looking for and Kelly was so spot on with the options she pulled out. In fact, I went with the first dress I tried on! This is long overdue! I brought my daughter in a couple of months ago to pick out a prom dress. Kiera helped us and she is amazing! She made my daughter feel comfortable and explained the pros and cons of different styles and alterations that would be involved as she tried on the different dresses. Wow! wow wow! What a fantastic experience! My friend recommend this place to me, and I am so glad she did! Did we have an event coming up? No! Was there a special occasion we needed to celebrate. Not at all. But we did feel the need to try out beautiful dresses, and this place hit the mark. The store is super spacious and clean and has plenty of staff. It was a bit hectic when we arrived as we can in the midst of what looked to be some prom related chaos. (Teenagers and tulle! Everywhere!) But we were able to quickly secure a consultant who went to work getting us fitting rooms and size and dress recommendations! (Thank you Sherri!) The gowns here are really high quality. They also carry a variety of designers and styles. The only downside was that a lot of the dresses did not have very many sizes on hand. Typically each style had around 2 or 3 sizes at most. I went into wedding dress shopping already feeling very anxious of the experience, and unfortunately my appointment at Trudy's confirmed every fear I had going into the day. The consultant and I did not seem to connect at all. I was repeatedly brought dresses that were far too small despite clearly not fitting, and it made an already vulnerable experience feel even more uncomfortable. For reference, I wear around a street size 6, and my final purchased wedding dress elsewhere ended up being a bridal size 12 with almost no clipping needed, so the sizing issue felt especially frustrating and avoidable. After only helping me into two dresses, I was told I may have better luck at Anthropologie because she "couldn't match my image." Shortly after, the consultant disappeared entirely and my mom ended up helping me in and out of dresses herself. At that point I felt defeated, embarrassed, and ready to give up on dress shopping altogether. I understand not every consultant will connect with every bride, but bridal appointments are an incredibly vulnerable experience, especially for someone already nervous about the process. I was so excited to schedule a bridal appointment for my sister's upcoming wedding. Trudy's has always been the go-to spot for weddings in our family, and we've made so many special memories there over the years. Unfortunately, it seems that tradition will have to come to an end. When I initially called to ask about dress fittings and appointments, the person I spoke with was friendly and helpful--exactly how I've always remembered Trudy's customer service to be. At the end of the call, she offered me three possible appointment times. Since I needed to confirm with the bride and bridesmaids to see what worked best, I let her know I would call back to finalize the booking. When I called back, I asked to speak with someone who could help schedule the appointment for my sister's wedding. I was met with a very unfriendly response: "We do all bookings online." I explained that I had just spoken with someone who told me to call back to schedule. After a loud sigh on the other end, the person hung up on me. Not only was that incredibly rude, but it was also disappointing enough to make us reconsider continuing our family tradition of shopping at Trudy's for bridal and bridesmaids dresses. This is such an exciting and meaningful time for families, and customers deserve respect and thoughtful customer service. Came in for my 1st and only bridal appointment because I said yes to the dress! I booked the private suite which is totally worth it. It's so much more of a memorable experience. Plus you get $100 credit towards accessories. The room comes fully stocked with apple cider, candy, and some cookies. We brought our own champagne to celebrate as well. The room itself is spacious and clean. They had some butcher paper on the wall with a welcome sign for me and my guests to write on. Upon entering Trudy's it's clear they have a thorough selection of bridal dresses to choose from. My consultant, Judy, was an absolute dream to work with. I could tell right off the bat she had such positive and compassionate energy. She listened to everything I stated about my desired style and budget. She pulled such beautiful dresses but made it so easy to pick my perfect dress. Crazy to think I ended up with the first dress I tried on, but I think that's a testament to how good Judy is! My 5 girlfriends and I arrived 15 minutes early and were allowed to go upstairs to peruse the sales. While browsing, I found a couple dresses I was interested in trying and was able to try them during the appointment. Trudys has the largest selection I've seen with a vast range of prices (even under $1k). Though it was overwhelming to see the amount of dresses, it was easier to navigate because of Alyssa. She was a huge help and gathered a variety of dress styles for me to try. Her suggestions allowed me to be more open-minded and ultimately this helped me decide on my final dress, albeit at another dress shop. One thing to note is unlike other shops (possibly because of the time of the appointment), we didn't go around the store to tag the ones we were interested in. I would recommend Trudys to be a stop for any bride-to-be!
