My wife and I were interested in doing a thorough cleaning for our bathroom and kitchen. Like most people, we keep up with our cleaning, but we do typical wipe downs of our counters and sweeping and mopping. But eventually, the walls get dirty, the cupboards get fingerprints, baseboards get dirty, and overall there is a gradual increase of "filth" that slowly occurs unless a person does a thorough cleaning on a moderately consistent basis. Well, we weren't those people who did that. So we decided to treat ourselves, for the first time ever, by hiring a maid service. I went online and found True Blue Maids. I spoke with the owner, Lyn, and she was so incredibly nice and even offered other company contact information since I was doing a price comparison. She was not concerned about the competition as she was clearly confident in the quality of her work and the work of her employees. All to say, we hired True Blue Maids for two hours of cleaning. Two people came and dedicated a solid two hours to both the bathroom and the kitchen. They were very efficient, professional, and quiet as they went about their work. Additionally, before using a vacuum cleaner, one of the maids asked us if they could use it since they knew we had an infant sleeping in the other room. How thoughtful!! We were blown away that they were aware of our sleeping infant and were trying to be as quiet as possible. Not only that, they were incredibly friendly and SO nice! Now to be upfront, I don't see us using their services regularly throughout the year as I prefer to try and do my part and clean my own home. However, the cleaning that True Blue Maids provided was so efficient and "complete", that we will definitely use them once a year from here on out to clean our bathroom and kitchen. I moved into a new apartment and the place was disgusting, so I found true blue maids on yelp. In 2 hours my apartment looked brand new.. I mean the stove had at least 3 years of food caked on it and they managed to make it look brand new! I literally shrieked when I saw that they had deep cleaned the toilet as well, my toilet had years of stains and other disgusting things and now looks SPOTLESS. I've used True Blue in the past for move out cleaning at rental properties and had good results. This time, I called Lyn on very short notice, and she was amazing and communicative! There was an issue with getting into the unit, due to building security (just doing their job), so the cleaners could not get in. I was in a meeting and wasn't able to take the calls, so the cleaners left...BUT I called Lyn back as soon as I was out, and she managed to get some people there ASAP! Hmm, I do believe everyone is different and have diferent requirements and standards. People are also entitled to their own opinions, so yelp isn't a forum to really bash people because some people believe they should get such service for such price, or expect the business to be a certain way when a business can't cater to everyone's expectations albiet they do try. I am only writing about MY OWN EXPERIENCE, which should serve as just a point of reference and it is NOT A FACT. This is how I personally feel about True Blue Maids and I think they did a phenomenal job. Price, I think they are reasonable to industry standard costs $170 for two hours, that's the same as Merry Maids and some other local cleaning companies in Pasadena. I CALLED AROUND FOR A QUOTE. Some standard cleaning companies charge the same amount, I did not find anything less expensive with good yelp reviews. Why do I call for a cleaning service? Well, because I don't want to clean it myself, so I guess if you want to save money, clean everything yourself. However, I would like professionals/subject matter experts to do it for me. I believe they did a great job and what they did in two hours, I probably would have taken the whole day, Lynette, the owner was very responsive when I scheduled few days prior, I called her, she picked up letting me know she would get back to me asap to tell me her schedule and I told her mine. When I did not pick up on her returned call, she followed up with a text and I was able to secure an appointment. They were punctual (I was the one who was late) and did a very good job of literally cleaning everything out, throwing away all my trash, cleaning all my appliances, windows, floors. The place pretty much looks spotless and they did all the grunt work for me. So, I believe that they deserve a great review because they were nice and hard working. True Blue Maids provided us with great cleaning services and customer service. We have used them twice. We first used them for a move out cleaning a couple years ago. I had 2 kids in a 900 sqft home and they made it look like we were never there. Our landlords were very pleased with the cleaning an we received our full deposit back. Just last year (now with 3 kids) I became very busy and hired them to come to my new home for a by-weekly cleaning service. It is such a relief to come home and have the house spotless. Most of the time I am not able to be here with them, I completely trust them in my home without me here. Lynette has great personal customer service. Always willing to work with you if you need extra attention to certain areas of the home. I had family come from out of town and she had no problem working with me to reschedule my cleaning days to coincide with our guests. All the employees are very reliable, efficient and polite. Sadly we have to schedule our last cleaning with them because we are moving out of the area. It is really important that you have someone cleaning your home that not only does a great job but also someone you can trust, True Blue Maids are both those. read more

Lyn, the owner, is often difficult to get a hold of. She also has rather convoluted pricing. We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house (a little over 1700 sq feet). But we asked that only the master bedroom and bath, and the kitchen and living room be cleaned. The original order was for 2 people for 2 hours. She sent 3 three people and it cost us more. (Plus, we always tip each worker. So, there was extra expense there.) We asked at the outset that someone come out and give us an on-site estimate for a repeat cleaning. Lyn refused. In general, although the cleaning side was satisfactory (certainly not the best we've ever had.), Lyn became too difficult to deal with. read more

I did a lot of research and found that True Blue Maids had the highest rating on several sites which leads me to believe that sites like yelp are simply advertising opportunities for these companies that hire staff to write glowing reviews. Do not believe multiple positive reviews about this or most other places that appear to have too may happy reviewers. My experience with this company was the worst communication ever of any service I've used including the phone or cable company which are notorious for bad communication and internet services. First, I did not get initial emails from the company which had the dates of service so it was always a surprise when they showed up at first. (A relative set it up but gave them my information) I let them know and they eventually sent their schedule but that is only a tiny piece of a puzzle that reveals the one of the ugliest experience I've had in customer service in my lifetime. When they came to my home they never spent the full two hours promised oh and they were consistently late. But this is only the beginning of a nightmare of service beyond the pale of horrible. When they cleaned my home they never did a thorough job, floors remained stained, counters dirty, beds unmade and only the most superficial cleaning was achieved. I have asthma and so does my son - cleaning is about dust for us but that never happened I literally could do the same thing they did in 20 minutes with a sponge. Oh on top of horrible cleaning they had to be told to vacuum under the bed or anything that involved bending or thoroughness. A final note: they dropped me as a customer after I complained that they came two weeks in a row without notice. I singed up for every other week. No call, no notice, nothing-just appear. And they had the nerve to show me a schedule that was set up before the pandemic exploded. Obviously nothing is the same during a pandemic. I asked them to put my service on hold for a period of time then asked to clean my place again after I teated negative for the virus. At this point just out of courtesy they could have let me know they were going back to the pre pandemic schedule. Nothing should be treated as if we're in the same world. A simple phone call about the consecutive weeks would have sufficed but zero communication as had happened in the beginning once again showed their lack of sensitivity and basic customer service. Do not hire these people unless you want to throw your money away on a sub par self serving selfish arrogant company. I've had individual cleaners that I've paid half the price who spent three times as much energy and hours without complaint. Welcome to the corporate approach to a personal service. read more

I was one of your customers and have plenty of cashed checks to prove it. I agree with some of the other reviewers who have written negative reviews. Instead of acting defensive and bashing the reviewers as "false" or "liars", it would do your business a whole lot better if you take a more humble approach and listen to your customers' suggestions on how you can improve your customer service and cleaning service. There are a lot of other options out there. Also, I want to emphasize if you only use True Blue Maids once or twice or once in a very long time, their service is excellent. They do a good job cleaning and pleasing the first visit. This service is truly as good as it gets!!! From the moment I texted Lyn, I received a call back so quickly! She is a complete star and sure knows how to run a successful and truly wonderful business. I had worked with other maids' services but there always seemed to be an issue... not clean enough, things moved and not returned back to their place, etc. but with True Blue Maids, it's literally like you leave, they show up (perfectly on time I might add) and come home to a sparkling clean house with no trace of anyone being there, ha! The dream scenario! I am hooked on this service... just awesome from start to finish! The prices are great too for all that they do, they even made my messy bed and my gosh I'll admit that I had not been able to clean the house in a while and it was perfection (cobwebs gone, bathrooms perfectly clean, dusted, you name it!). SO nice to come home to and it smelled wonderful.. not like cleaner but a lovely smell, which is great because I have dogs. The ladies did a good job cleaning but pricing lacks transparency. We were sent a price schedule initially and then told the cost of cleaning our home on a weekly basis would be thirty dollars more than the schedule. When asked for clarification I received an apology and then a vague statement of weekly cost. If you use this service be alert for slippery price changes. Same thing JUST happened to me today Jennifer G. but they have since changed their cleaning company name to "True Blue House Cleaning" and wth, they say they specialize in move-in/move-out home cleanings and I have just had some house work done and there was lot of dust, hence the need for a DEEP clean, which I figured would be the same as a move-in/move-out clean, so Lynette shows up with 2 other people and takes a look around(I have no furniture as I recently moved in and I did have some items in the living room on the floor which I said I would move into the garage and she could start elsewhere) and immediately has a POOR attitude and asks me to reschedule when the home is in better cleaning condition?? Why the heck do you think I called you?? Then she suggested I call Maid Brigade. ???!!! She, in a polite way, claimed I was not honest with her over the phone about my home, but how would you describe a DEEP cleaning?? I'm not sure if you should be in the home cleaning business if you don't want to work hard at cleaning and just expect to clean an already "clean home". The mother of a close childhood friend of mine recently passed away, and I wanted to do something to help lift my friend's spirits in the midst of her grief. She had mentioned to me that her house was a disaster area, and knowing how depressing it is to be surrounded by chaos (especially during a time a grief), I figured having her house cleaned for her would be more helpful than sending flowers. Because I live in the San Diego area, I had to rely on google to find a cleaning company in her area. I decided to give True Blue Maids a try, and it turned out to be an excellent decision! They did an outstanding job on my friend's house, and she was thrilled with the results! Lyn (the owner) had her 2 daughters come to clean a laundry room, 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. They agreed to move a rocking chair and an end table and put them in another part of the house. In the process they scraped both items on the walls in several places. I respectfully asked one of them to be more careful with the house. I relayed a story to her about a problem I had in the past with a maid heavily damaging a wood floor. They called their mother Lyn to complain that they were afraid of being fired and left without an apology or a good bye after spending a half hour doing little else. Lyn told them to leave. I couldn't get a word in edgewise with Lyn about my side of the story as she just wouldn't stop talking and she had no interest in hearing my understanding of and reporting on what transpired. She agreed to refund my $300. I am not interested in having the damage to the walls repaired but I am astounded by what happened. Noting that it is her daughters who were involved, I am amazed that she had so little interest in hearing my side of the story. She gets 2 stars only because she has agreed to refund my $300 and because there is no option for zero stars (otherwise it would have been a 1 star). read more

Not sure what happened to them, they started out great then stopped showing up or returning phone calls or texts. The last time Lynette called she left a voicemail trying to reschedule, I called back and left a few messages but never heard back. I thought they would show-up the following week as scheduled but no such luck. It's too bad, because if she would have communicated any conflicts or problems I would be understanding of that, but now they have lost my business and by the looks of other recent reviews many future clients as well. read more
