I would rate this place below one star if possible; I went to True Colors Salon because I had a good experience in the past with a former stylist who recently moved out. The bad experience I am having now when 'Sam' colored my hair is much different from what I told her already. She is swaying from fixing it, and instead, she starts asking for more money. She has no professional manners, never has a sense of responsibility and accountability. I ended up having a different color than what I wanted and paid for!!! read more

Right before Christmas, I wanted to find something close to home, affordable, and able to get me in short notice for a haircut. I called True Colors based on their reviews here, and Brittnie was able to get me in the next day. She did a terrific job. I loved that I was able to get an affordable cut in a professional salon. If I could give negative stars I would. I made my appointment here about three weeks in advance on a recommendation from a friend. I checked their reviews and was anticipating a great experience. What I got was the complete opposite. I arrived about 1/2 an hour early expecting someone to be at the front desk to check me in, after about 10 minutes of waiting (while one of the stylists was on her phone texting and then walking away to make a call) a young lady finally noticed I was there and came downstairs to see if I had been helped and I told her no I hadn't so she came down and asked who my appointment was with (mind you I had called this morning to confirm my time) I told her I was to be seeing Carrie (?) at three. She checks to see and tells me she isn't in yet but she will text her to let her know I was there and waiting. After about another 5 minutes this young lady comes back to tell me that Carrie (?) will be calling me to reschedule and sure enough she calls with the excuse that she just got the text that she had an appointment today with me at three and could we reschedule to which I reply nope, I don't believe you just found out about my appointment when I made it weeks ago and called this morning to confirm, so thanks for nothing I guess I will go spend my money somewhere else. read more

Great Salon! I have been going to True Colors regularly since I moved to the Valley in 1/12 and have had fabulous service. Shannon does amazing cuts and color. I have also brought my teen and tween daughters in for cuts and they were very happy as well. This is a full service salon, high end, but relaxed and fun. I went to Amy at True colors to go from brunette to completely blonde. I sent pictures of my hair and the color I was wanting and got a price and timing quote. The day of I showed up early and wasn't started until 20 mins after appointment time, no big deal. I said I was looking for a full color, not highlights, because I don't like my natural hair color next to blonde, but that I would be willing to go to more medium color if that would be healthier for my hair. I ended up getting partial highlights, just bleached, with no color at all put in. She had to leave early before styling it, again no big deal. I knew immediately it wasn't what I had asked for but I wanted to give it a day before saying anything to see if it would grow on me. The price was over what I had been quoted by a little. Next day I called and asked to have it fixed, 6 hours later I got a call back to schedule a consultation the next day. Day off she cancelled 15 mins prior as I was already driving there and rescheduled it for the next day. She said she would finish coloring it, but that I would have to pay for the dye. Since I had already paid what I had been told what it would cost to completely bleach and color my hair and I had been jumping through hoops I ended up cancelling the appointment to have it fixed. Overall, I felt that I wasn't being given accurate information and that I hadn't been listened to so I walked away from $190 and decided to get it fixed elsewhere. read more

Ok, I am a guy...but, I take pride in my hair and I am picky about my haircuts. I have been to other salons and hair cutting places and have lost faith in them. Some places, even when you ask for the person that did your hair cut last...is not always the one available to cut your hair. I have to explain and even show a photo of how i want my hair cut. Most of the time, doesn't pan out. Shannon now cuts my hair and I am totally devoted to her. never has there been an issue. Yes, need to make an appointment; but, that's fine with me. The absolute worst experience I have ever had in my life!! Came in with picture of what I wanted my hair to turn out like came out black instead of brown with grey highlights instead of blonde and she didn't do a full highlight like I asked saying that my hair was too short don't go there if you like your hair read more

The first couple years I received nice haircuts and was overall happy with the salon, friendly staff, nice ambiance, clean. The last year or two it was hard to get ahold of anyone in the salon. There's no receptionist to ask questions, check in or purchase items. When I wanted to purchase a gift certificate I had to pick the exact service and the person, instead of letting the gift receiver pick what service she wanted (hair, nails...) because they all work independently in the salon. And the certificate was just a receipt slip. I get that working independently and not having a receptionist probably saves them money but it was a huge negative on the customer service aspect. In the end it was the 3 bad haircuts that made me move on. Sad, because the people are nice and seem to have a coworker-family feel. read more

Went in with my girl who wanted to change her style. I thought it would be trouble cause my girl had no idea or direction of where she wanted to go with it. The stylist questioned her thinks like what she likes and from asking those questions an really listening her she came out looking like a super star. She even showed her how to style it.
