I always enjoy True Foods and the high quality of their offerings. My burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. I have tried many of their menu items, and the food is consistently very good to excellent. The noise level is high, and the parking is a nightmare. Street parking is almost impossible to find, and parking lots can run as much as $25. The atmosphere is attractive, and the staff is polite, informative, and helpful. Prices are high but correct for the quality and quantity. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and I recommend making a reservation. read more

Stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. The food was really good and everything came out fresh and flavorful. The service at the bar was okay, but the bartenders were extremely busy handling both bar guests and drink orders for the dining room, so it's understandable. If you're looking for more attentive service, I'd recommend sitting at a table instead. I visited on a Saturday, and I have to say the staff was hustling nonstop. If you're driving along 2nd Ave in Cherry Creek you've probably noticed this place because it is always crowded! It is a nice atmosphere inside, with lots of space to accommodate larger parties. We were quickly seated, but did have pretty slow service overall starting off with about 15minutes before we were approached. The seasonal appetizer is a puffed sourdough with we both found delicious and served with a whipped eggplant which was as unique as it was tasty. It provided the creamy texture of hummus with a punch of vinegar and savory notes. For entrees, we had the recommended grass-fed burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. The burger was well cooked and served with two great sauces, but the chicken sandwich left some things to be desired. It was advertised as very crispy yet I found there to be no crunch and the sandwich overall too drenched in sauce and hard to eat. We haven't been to True Food Kitchen in quite a while due to menu changes and rising prices, and our recent visit reminded us why. The menu feels less focused on healthy options now and leans more toward fried and "comfort" foods. I ordered the seasonal market salad, which was quite underwhelming. It was mostly lettuce with just a small amount of carrot, cauliflower, and a chopped up date. I took off the feta, to make the dish vegan, but they didn't offer a substitute. I added tofu, but only received a few tiny pieces. The prices are also excessive, my salad was double what it cost last visit. We were also charged for an adult pizza when we had ordered the kid's version. Service was another disappointment. Our server was a bit over the top but still forgot my son's drink and our friend's appetizer. When we asked about it, he dismissed the issue without apologizing and suggested it was our responsibility to remind him, even saying, "I should write these things down." It's disappointing to see how much this place has declined. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it. read more

We've been here before, a few times, probably two years ago, and we always had a fantastic experience and amazing food! This time, I'm not sure if we just ordered all the wrong items, or if the quality has gone down, but the food was just blah! Like something from an ikea food court. The service was even worse. We asked for ketchup at the very beginning of getting our food and by the end of our meal she would bring it. Without checking on us at all. Overall, not great. Ambience is cute and lively. True Food Kitchen has been a long time staple in Cherry Creek at least for as long as I have been in Denver and they have always killed it and I think they have even gotten better over time. They are always my go to spot when I find myself in Cherry Creek and I want something on the healthier side that won't break the bank. I really do always feel like my stomach feels good after eating here. When you think of healthy food, typically taste is sacrificed for health but I never felt like that is the case here. No matter what I get here, it's always at least decent if not delicious. It is also really cool to see the open concept kitchen where you can easily see all the chefs prepare the whole foods. It is evident that they take pride in their food. The only thing that I am taking a star off for is that I have often felt rushed when dining there. We also asked for no sauce on the grass fed burger and when we received the burger with sauce on it and pointed it out the person who appeared to be the manager just replied "ok...?" like we were annoying him or he didn't understand what the issue was. You would think that for a scratch kitchen they would make their matcha fresh, but they don't. It's stored in a container under the bar, pre made. The color just isn't it, the taste was equally as bad. The chia seed pudding was mid, make it at home. The grain bowl was really rummy, but for 28 bucks? We also waited like 25 minutes for one bowl of food. We were told we had to wait and couldn't sit at the bar. Put name in and someone stole our table, but it was somewhat the hostesses fault as she didn't send out the text saying it was ready. Never had someone steal a reservation before! One of our favorite starters is the Edamame Dumplings. This vegetarian-friendly starter is only 270 calories for the whole dish. You know they're on the way when the truffle aroma reaches your table. It's wild how they take simple edamame and dial the flavor up to eleven. The silky broth is so good you'll want to drink it straight from the bowl. If you're sharing, you'll be fighting to get the last drop. I usually order the Spaghetti Squash Casserole, but tonight I switched it up with the Lasagna al Pesto. The pistachio pesto bursts with bright, herby notes that balance the tangy tomato sauce perfectly. The turkey-sausage Bolognese was tasty, for me it was just a touch salty. My husband went for the Chicken Parmesan. The True Crisp'd™ air-fried chicken breast was juicy, crisp, and generous; easily enough for two meals. I regret not ordering it myself! This dish packs 50 grams of protein and every bite tastes like comfort. We left happy, grateful, and already planning our next visit. I was craving something healthy in Cherry Creek and decided to try TFK. I was impressed by the variety of affordable organic options and fresh juices on the menu. Despite being busy on a late Sunday morning, the wait was short. The front staff, however, seemed a bit overwhelmed. There were three hosts working--one of them in training--and their process of calling out guest names without taking phone numbers felt inefficient, especially when they struggled to locate people on the waitlist. Once seated, service improved significantly. Our server was attentive, and our order was taken promptly. We opted for a patio table to enjoy the beautiful weather. I ordered the Rancher's Hash, which came with eggs, grass-fed beef, sweet potato, avocado, tomato, and peppers. The flavors blended nicely, though it was on the salty side, so consider asking for no added salt if you're sensitive to that. Overall, the food and atmosphere made for a great experience. Chopped salad not chopped and no dressing in sight, air-warmed (not air fried) limp greasy 'fries' were little broken bits of soggy potato product, and chicken parm was a horror--cooled from microwaved plain tomato paste coated penne and a soggy flavorless cold chicken cutlet with wet, flavorless 'breading' and a gob of partially melted mozzarella with a half leaf of basil as the only seasoning?! Finally waved someone down to ask for salt and they brought an empty salt shaker and we never saw anyone again to send it back. Usually one of my go to spots with my friends who all have dietary restrictions. Service is generally good. Great vibe- feels clean and fresh. My friends and I generally get the burger and chocolate cake. We love them so much! Tonight though, we all got super sick quickly after. Out of town review. I don't have true food kitchen where I live, but I've been to one when I was visiting Austin so I was glad to see that they had one in Denver so I can eat here again. I ordered the edamame dumpling with white truffle oil. Honestly, this was the one dish that I was looking forward to to the most. It left a memorable impression on me last time. Along with the dumplings, I had an iced Matcha Horchata drink and I ordered the crispy chicken salad that I think was one of their seasonal menu items. They weren't super busy today and we were well attended on by our server. This place is a little pricey, but you can taste the quality in the ingredients. This is in the downtown area of Cherry Creek so you can either park on the street or in some of the lots. Kid friendly with high chairs and changing stations in the bathroom. I came with a pretty large group of 12 people so they had to split us into two separate tables, which was fine. It made splitting the check easier. I ordered the jambalaya pasta. The flavor and proteins were really good, but the pasta was a little overcooked so they were a little mushy. It didn't stop me from finishing my plate though, so there's that lol. The one redeeming quality was the sourdough crust. I ordered the penne pesto pasta, while my husband had the curry bowl - both were underwhelming. Our friend's salmon, on the other hand, was excellent, with a nice crisp texture, and my other friend really enjoyed her vegan burger. We ordered: Roasted Brussels Sprouts Air Fried French Fries w/ house made peri-peri ketchup Spicy Panang Curry Bowl w/ tofu Grilled Sustainable Salmon Seasonal Fall Pie (butternut squash, pie spice blend, graham cracker crust, whipped coconut cream) The food and service has always been great. We ate up the pie and could really taste the spices - it wasn't too sweet either. Damon's attentiveness especially towards the end of the night made our outing a great experience. The glass ware was dirty. If you held your glass up to the light you could see spots/stains all over the glass. The beer glass was not a beer clean glass. Gas bubbles clinged to the side. There was some sort of residue on them that impacted the head on the beer and ultimately the taste. They do not serve ice in their water. The water was lukewarm. I asked for a glass of ice and once again the glass was spotted. They do not serve soft drinks. So I ordered water and then encountered issues I described above. My dinner guest ordered fries with her sandwich. When the plate arrived she asked for ketchup and it was never delivered. Almost all the fries were less than a 1/2 inch in length making them hard to handle. They said they were understaffed on the day we ate there but we should not be ones to suffer. The couple next to us arrived after us but seated themselves instead of waiting to be seated. They received their food and were finished before our food arrived. Take for instance True Food Kitchen....I love their food and have dined at their restaurants in Walnut Creek and Santa Monice many many times. My last time in cherry creek was sort of an eye opener...sure the food was pretty good but the three of us for a casual lunch was over $150. My basic curry bowl with shrimp was over $30. Don't get me wrong service was fantastic It is sort of sad that such a basic meal has become such a luxury. I would definitely come back but would adjust my expectations and credit card limit. read more

I don't understand the positive reviews because this place was horrible. Went over the weekend and the place was packed...good sign but that was the only positive. The burger had zero flavor. We didn't get dressing on our salads, both came to the table dry as a bone. Soggy bun. The fries were a strange consistency, burnt on the ends and almost a disintegrated texture in the middle. We had to ask our server why our fries looked so bad but tables around us had normal looking fries. Why didn't the crew use discernment before sending these out??? They took the fries off the bill and brought new ones but even the new fries tasted like cardboard. When we finally got our dressing tasted like too much Dijon mustard with no other flavors. Being 9 months pregnant sometimes it's so hard to figure out what to eat.. luckily TFK has many entrees to choose from! Not only do they have many entrees to choose from but they've got seasonal menus, gluten free options, and vegan options. A little something for everyone! It was our first visit so naturally we wanted to try everything. Our waitress recommended the Edamame Dumplings and man what a hit! If you like truffle oil, this will be calling your name! The Sourdough Focaccia was also very excellent - crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They had full chucks of garlic (which I love) but be mindful if you're not a garlic fan! It's also only served after 5pm and limited quantities available. The Chinese Chicken Salad wasn't bad but it wasn't my cup of tea. I wanted it for all the veggies but it was very heavy on the ginger (pickled ginger and carrot ginger dressing). I'm not personally a fan of ginger but if you are, then this might be for you! The chocolate peanut butter tart looks like a huge Reese's Peanut Butter cup but not as sweet and more flavorful. Only concern was that initially we were served the wrong dessert (squash pie). It looked very good and seasonal but our waitress noticed right away it was wrong. She apologized, took the pie, and said she'd have to give it to the right table. I hope she really didn't "re-serve" that pie as it had been on our table for at least a few minutes before she came by... I would definitely go back to try some other items! True Food Kitchen holds a special place in my heart as a great spot to be if you have food restrictions (vegan & vegetarian in particular). I love taking vegan friends here as there's a good number of options for them. I don't love every dish, but they do make quite a few that I find fantastic. I don't think the menus across locations are identical and they are definitely somewhat seasonal, but there are some staples you'll find at each. That said, I have to give a shoutout to the cauliflower appetizer (with the sauce and dates *chef's kiss*) and the vegan key lime pie with ube (it is truly a wonderful dairy-free treat). read more
