I've been wanting to visit True Food Kitchen for a while now. The healthier food options were an automatic draw, as I've been purposely eating cleaner this year. During my visit, I appreciated that they had numerous options to choose from. To start, my friend & I shared the Mediterranean Hummus appetizer. I really did enjoy the overall flavors. The texture was pleasant and it had a bold taste. If I could change anything, it would be to use naan bread instead of the baked flatbread (just my own preference). For the main course, I ordered the Ancient Grain Bowl with Shrimp, and it was really good. I did find that some of the snap peas were tougher to chew than others, but every ingredient plated was fresh. The sweet potato, mushrooms, avocado, and pistachio pesto, really tied the dish together. My drink, "Bright Eyes" was much better than I expected. The predominant flavors were the Beets and Lemon that gave it an earthy taste that I didn't mind. We were too full to order dessert, but perhaps next time. I would happily return to try more menu items, as the staff were efficient and the space was comfortable.

Offers any healthy options. The squash soup is typically full & rich, however today it was watery and lacked flavor. I always opt for a kale salad as my side. The chicken tenders was good. The turkey burger is mid. My sister enjoyed her gas fed beef burger. This is usually my go to place for healthy eats. The service was really slow. My server looked very overwhelmed and distracted. The ambiance is casual.

True Food Kitchen is a big open space, very clean establishment. I was promptly sat and a server approached my table in a timely manner. I started with a cup of the butternut squash soup and a pomegranate spritzer. The soup was the perfect temperature and sooo delicious, I'd only recommend they leave out the crispy sage on top, super bitter and unpleasant chewing into straight sage leaves. The spritzer was bubbly and refreshing. My son had a kids cheese pizza, which was fresh and super cheesy, he ate half of it, which is always a good sign! I dined on the steak frites, ordered medium. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the side salad it came with was nice. I had to deduct a star for the fries. Man, they were AWFUL. They were small bits and pieces and were hard and dry, they tasted as if they had been re fried and thrown on the plate. I didn't eat any more of those. All in all the experience was great and I'll definitely be back to try some other menu options. They also have some nice vegetarian options.

Something changed. You don't feel genuinely welcomed right when you enter. Salad has been soggy the last couple of times. Food is salty; waitstaff and managers not as attentive and hanging at the bar looking at their phones. Food not prepared with love like before. No idea what happened. We used to be regulars. Recently we haven't enjoyed our last several visits. Disappointed to say the least.

The food is delicious. Healthy ficus without the taste sacrifice is so rare. Bev did a great job as our server. The inside looks upscale and comfy. The cheesy mashed potatoes are bomb. The hummus is way better than what you'd get at a grocery store and the variety is great. Even the cocktails are good. I'd skip the juices unless you're looking for a healthy alternative and can't drink water as an adult. Parking is rough and you definitely will need to adjust to not feeling "full" because the ingredients are cleaner.

Restaurant is located at the outside of the Roosevelt Field Mall, it has a lot of seating and wonderful decor all over the restaurant. They had explained how their menu worked and if I needed anything in particular, I can just ask. Bright Eyes ($9.75)- Pineapple, carrot, organic apple, ginger, turmeric, beet, and lemon. It had a nice kick from the ginger and expected it to be sweeter than it was. Edamame Dumplings ($14.95)- White truffle oil, dashi, thai basil. This had a nice amount of truffle flavor with a similar texture to grits. Without the dashi-based broth it would be too bland. Butternut Squash Pizza ($17.95)- Organic butternut squash, lemon almond ricotta, caramelized onion, organic kale and raisins. What a interesting combinations of ingredients that made it feel like more of a dessert pizza than a savory one. There was a generous with the amount of toppings but the dough itself could have been in the oven a little more Ancient Grains Bowl with added Chicken Tenders (18.35+$7.50)- Miso sesame glazed sweet potato, charred onions, snap peas, portobello, avocado, organic grains, pistachio pesto, hemp seeds and turmeric. This bowl was very filling since it had a lot of vegetables and grains, the taste was not my favorite because I felt like the sweet potatoes were a little too salty even when mixed together with the other ingredients. Chicken itself was a little dry but that is usually to be expected when using chicken breasts. Overall I thought the food itself was average and the some of the items was on the more expensive side but the service from Maggie and the staff were accommodating. She even said if the drink was not to my liking I can exchange it for another one. Visited 3/5/2025 Food- 6/10 Cleanliness- 9/10 Staff- 10/10

First time here - came for breakfast with my husband and 3 yr old. Beautiful clean and happy lighting, very spacious which is great when you have a million bags for your toddler. Most importantly the food was delicious and really nicely priced (way cheaper than my own neighborhood so I wish something like this was in Forest Hills). For all 3 of us (and my son got a kids pancake entree also), plus my husband and I got coffee, it was $52 incl tip and tax. In my own neighborhood this is sadly impossible, and with not as good brunch too. So I'm a bit envious! I got the Farmer's Hash which had all yummy veggies, steak, avocado, and perfectly fried sunny side up eggs. Coffee was nice and big too. Bathrooms clean and well lit. Friendly service! We will 100% be back and would love to try for lunch / dinner!

Went for lunch to TFK aware of the kind of food they serve, however I had hope I would like it and it could be one of my regular eateries and be part of the rotation. One must have a taste for vegan food/taste and I don't have it but the menu and the my order I know they are true to their name. The restaurant is big and bright. The food made to order and the staff nice. If organic/vegetarian/vegan cuisine is your favorite I definitely recommend True Food Kitchen.

Buffalo chicken sandwich with kale salad ... 3.7/5

Food was pretty tasty. Ordered the grass fed burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. I'd say the chicken sandwich cost too much to be air fried but that's just me lol. The drinks were tasty as well. Service was pretty good, waiter was attentive. Ambiance was cool for a restaurant in the mall.

This was our server's way of clearing our table. Sigh

My husband & I decided to try this restaurant today for lunch because we loved all of the healthy options. We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it was for us to get a table on a Saturday afternoon, but we'd soon learn why. As others have shared, the restaurant decor is lovely, and the food is delicious. Unfortunately, the drinks are underwhelming, and the service is sub par. We were seated immediately, but waited for some time to be greeted. Our server took our drink & appetizer orders and then went on her merry way. She didn't stop to check & see if we needed anything or clear our plates. I had to stop and ask her if anyone was going to clear our appetizer plates before the entrees arrived, and she grabbed the plates and placed them on the empty high top table beside us until some other waiter happened to walk by and grab them. I have no idea why she didn't just take them and place them in the back for cleaning. Almost immediately after our plates were clear another young lady brought out of entrees. I have the lasagna and my husband had the grilled salmon. Both were delicious. Once again, our server did not stop by to check and make sure that our orders We're 2-hour liking or inquire as to whether we needed anything. She just busy herself with other customers - mind you, the place was practically empty. I counted about 8 tables of two to four customers at that time, and there were at least two other servers actively interacting with their customers. After we cleaned our plates, we sat and watched our server do everything but come to our table. I noticed the manager sitting nearby and asked to speak with him. After sharing our concerns, the manager apologize and offered bus desserts at no charge. We appreciated it, but it didn't change the quality of our experience or lack thereof. While waiting for our dessert, which took so long we thought they had to bake them from scratch, a young lady walked in to place a to-go order from the bar. After standing for a while without being acknowledged, she about faced, shrugged her shoulders and walked out. I'd love to see this restaurant chain thrive, but we won't be returning or recommending it to anyone we know. I waited tables while in undergrad, so I understand the nature of the business. This team may a refresher training on providing quality service. If you're going to try them, I'd recommend using placing an online order to be delivered to your home.

My first time here and it was a pleasant experience. They are located by the Roosevelt Field Mall. They have a separate entrance but it's part of the mall. There's parking obviously but it's busy in general here especially during "rush hours". The separate entrance allows you to not even enter the mall if you're not planning on it. Plenty of seating here and the menu is healthy and they don't have anything that's fried. Service was awesome and our server asked if it was our first time and it was so he walked us thru the menu. Food came out timely and was delicious. I'll have to come back to try other stuff on the menu

Just an update for this review.. I'd order from here every so often because I really enjoyed their food initially. I ordered here on July 13, 2025 a turkey burger. And it was great until I bit into a big hard piece of metal in my burger that almost made me think I broke my tooth. I called back to inform them, didn't make a deal out of it because things happen sometimes, and I was informed I'd be refunded within 7-10 business days. As of today it is August 3, 2025 and I still haven't received a refund. I have called several times and still haven't made a huge deal out of it. I just want my $25 back. But after this I won't be returning.

I had to change plans quickly as I looked at the specials they had going on that day wow! We decided to go with the duck and the monkfish main course entrees instead. Life is about making the right choices and this was the best decision I made that day lol! The duck was cooked to perfection soft on the inside crispy on the outside wow! I really like how juicy and fatty the duck was very succulent and delicious yummy. I especially liked the wine sauce on top among taste sweet with a slight tart to it juts the right balance I was impressed. Definitely one of the best duck dishes I've ever had it's a special so I'm not sure if it will be available when you decide to go call ahead would be my suggestion and your best bet. Laslty the side with butter squash was also a delight to eat and treat! Second course was the monkfish which was great as well. It had a slightly Smokey flavor to my pallet and a slight crunch on the outside maybe it was torched or seared not sure. Whatever the case it was a great touch to the dish very tasty and juicy as well. I love the sauce and the sides were great mashed potatoes with broccoli yummy! I highly recommend this place for brunch, lunch, or dinner take your pick. They will not disappoint you at all that's for sure. I'm not sure how this place is in the evening as I've only gone during the day. I hope the chef gets to read this and know his work is appreciated and noticed! The staff and waiters are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the entrees and food in general. Great service and energy I will come again and repeat whenever possible. I liken the music they play in the background it's not too loud and always sets a great tone for the place. The windows bring in great light and the decor is tasteful and elegant gives a bistro vibe to me personally. You might think differently let us know anyway. I was alone and despite being semi-crowded, there wasn't a wait. This place definitely gives a hole in the wall vibe and that's what I wanted. There are plenty of "brunch vibes" in Long Island and that's not what I was looking for today. Service was super prompt and the food came quick, less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Mexican omelette which was eggs, shredded chicken and oaxacan cheese. I expected the chicken and cheese to be cooked into the omelette - it was actually an egg omelette with the chicken and cheese folded inside. No complaints though; when I had enough eggs, I was able to eat just the chicken. It was well seasoned and not doused in cheese, which I appreciated. Note to self: no sour cream next time. It was unnecessary. The omelette came with a side of home fries. The home fries were the perfect mix of soft and crispy, with onions and peppers. They tasted great. It also came with toast and I added avocado, and made avocado toast... YUM. I had an iced coffee on the side. Nothing special about the coffee- not good or bad. Either way, I was nervous they wouldn't have a good meal. But I held my breath and hoped that the reviews I'd read beforehand were accurate. For the most part, they were. The garlic naan was incredible. My parents went silent when they first tried it, then quietly maneuvered the basket toward themselves while leaving rice for the rest of us. The chana masala and chicken tikka masala were also spot on - rich, saucy, and flavorful. Our salmon tandoori announced its own arrival to our table as big chunks of delicate meat on a sizzling platter. The larger pieces weren't completely cooked through, but we just let them sit on the hot flatware for a minute or two more. Spice babies, beware. We requested 'mild' as the spice level for all our orders because medications have changed my mom's sensitivity to spice. Even then, the heat crept invisibly onto her palate. "I don't know where it's coming from," she said, fanning her mouth. Even as a spice lover, I could detect there a thrum of baseline spice in most of our meals. You might want to temper the spice the way we did - by ordering a mango lassi. I've yet to meet a mango lassi I didn't like, Punjab's included. Here, they include a drizzle of something jammy along the sides of the glass. I didn't think it necessary (the lassi by itself is already fantastic!), but great for those who like their drinks sweet and photogenic. Inside, the restaurant space feels like what I'd call 'upscale casual'. It's nice - in fact, it's a lot nicer than a lot of Indian restaurants I've been in. But it's not the kind of 'nice' that makes you feel like you can't grab a meal here in your sweatpants. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there are a good number of spots along the nearby side streets (just pay attention to street signs that designate no parking days and times).

I've been back several time for more and usually get an extra sandwich for later. The staff is friendly and helpful. Peter and Jordan are always making suggestions that are awesome. As health-oriented vegans, we felt Rock n Roots is basically perfect. They mostly adhere to whole foods/plant-based principles and even have a selection of oil-free options, a true rarity. We didn't notice the oil-free menu until after we ordered, but we kept it lighter by getting the spicy aioli on the side for the sushi bowl and the banh mi. The sushi bowl was great; so fresh and flavorful; light but still satisfying. We got the banh mi on whole wheat bread and really loved this healthy interpretation of a banh mi. The baked tofu is great. We also enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger with the homemade (oil-free!) patty. Would've been nice if it came with a side of their baked fries. We also loved the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Soo pumpkin-y! The owners were so helpful and knowledgeable and truly care about making food that's healthy and still tastes great. We didn't have the chance to try the items in the grab and go fridge, but everything looked great, from their legendary sushi to oil-free chickpea salad to an Italian sub (made with seitan from Secret Vegan Kitchen). We will definitely be making the trip back.

We were traveling from out of town and meeting up with an old high school friend and Copperhill was the perfect place. They had a menu full of great selections ... from brunchy items to salads/sandwiches and great healthy selections too. Our server Cat D. also did a fine job of keeping us all very happy, she's a great server. I had the shrimp tacos which were very good. My husband and HS friend had the kale salad with a big piece of salmon on top. We all really enjoyed our meal and had plenty of time to catch up with each other. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated with cool art and flowers/plant life. They did a great job with creating a cool vibe inside. It does get a little loud, so if you're looking for a quiet meal, brunch on a Sunday might not be the place. The restaurant gets pretty crowded.. and for a reason. Great service, food and ambiance can do that! I would definitely go back next time I'm in town.

We had the grilled octopus, it was perfectly cooked and very tender, dressed with frisee, olives and citrus. We also had the oh, so delicious short rib, Pappardelle with lamb , Salmon and a light and delicious flourless brownie with coffee ice cream. We had a lovely server named Kat. She and the Copperhill team were absolutely delightful, delivering top notch service!
