Update: 48 hours later and still in pain from my "massage" I bought a $65 Groupon for a spa pedicure and 60 minute massage. First off, the pedicure was absolutely amazing. There was a mask, scrub, different serums and lotions. Unfortunately, that was the only thing I enjoyed. 1. I walked in for a 2pm appt and just waited in silence for 15 minutes with no explanation until someone came out to direct me to a pedicure chair. 2. I asked for a medium massage - it felt like she was trying to squeeze out my internal organs. She didn't speak English so I couldn't even explain that I was in pain. I literally bit the pillow of the head rest to get through it. 3. You have to pay tip on the original price, not the Groupon price. So I literally paid half of what I spent on the Groupon on the tip. And the tip is mandatory. Like they ask for it as soon as your services are done. Made me feel really uncomfortable. 4. Not a sterile environment. The technicians are constantly cleaning their hands but the floor was dirty and there was a dog running around! TL;DR: Only go for pedicures and make sure you have no plans that day. read more

Unfortunately quite unhappy with my visit. I have purchased a Groupon for a Purissima Organic Spa pedicure with 40-minute reflexology. While I received a pedicure, I only got the standard pedicure foot rub, no reflexology. So I basically pod full price for a pedicure. Not much of a Groupon deal. Also their equipment did not seem sterile. No liners for the foot tubs and as you can see in my attached picture, they kept their "autoclaved" instruments on the floor. No thanks. Will not be coming back. Total rip off for a standard pedicure and less than standard health precautions. read more

I found this spa on Groupon looking for a facial and I got the organic facial. The actual facial was very relaxing! I left the facial and my skin was glowing. Around two days after the facial, though, my skin has started breaking out. I have never been someone who has gotten serious acne but after this facial I had to get spot treatment to get rid of all of the zits. My sensitive skin definitely didn't react well to the facial! They used a lot of products on my skin and I wasn't told what was being put on my face, so my skin had a very bad reaction to all of these products. I found this spa on a groupon for eyelash extensions. My first time, I had no idea what to expect. The woman who applied the lashes was lovely. However, they did clump and start to fall off after about a week. But, initially I loved them! I ended up buying their coupon for a manicure, pedicure, facial. I decided for the manicure to do a gel. I loved it. I've been 3 times and recommend Kimmy and Farrah. The pedicure was good. The facial not so good. They used products that had a strange smell and it was not at all relaxing. They push their massage, so I booked one and it was very disappointing. As with the other reviewers, they don't flip you over, it's weird. I just returned from an amazing massage and facial. The staff was so nice! My masseuse gave me such a gentle yet strong massage and I was so relaxed afterward and then came my facial which also included a foot massage! Bonus! I treated myself with the Groupon (pedi and 60 min massage) and thought it was well worth what I paid. I'm pregnant and not feeling so hot (first trimester woes!), so this was exactly the pick me up I needed. The staff was very kind and really went out of their way to make me feel special. I'm pretty sure my massage lasted longer than an hour too- at no additional cost! The pedicure was to die for; all the different treatments. The technician was the same who did the massage so it made it easier to tip in one lump sum at the end. For everyone complaining they had to tip off the original price and not the Groupon- DUH. Otherwise you're just rude and nobody has time for that. The salon was very clean, any flaws pictured in reviews, those were purposeful flaws in the tile and not dirt. I seek out spas for their cleanliness, massage expertise and flexibility with my schedule. True Grace is all these things and more. They are gracious and professional with not just me but my 80 year old father, my teenage daughter as well. The deep tissue massage is done by a woman who knows how to work on athletes and stressed out necks! The mani/pedis last for one hour each with their attention to providing a full multi layered treatments. They never rush. The staff is always smiling and courteous and I look forward to my times there. read more

The place is way overpriced considering their customer service and facility. 3/31/17 This is by far one of the worst examples of ownership and customer service I have ever witnessed. My girlfriend went in person and booked an appointment for a large party 3 weeks in advance. Witnessed the manager Silvia, write it in the books. Called a week later to place a down payment, they took her credit card information and time of the party. Then she calls two days before the event to be told that they have no idea who she is and that they can't do it. Now my girlfriend is stressed out and panicking while she is at work about what she can do about the 15 women expecting to be at this place for the party tomorrow. I would suggest everyone stay away far away from this place. The owner isn't trying to do anything to remedy the situation when it is clear that they messed up. Purchased a Groupon for a pedi and had a WONDERFUL Experience. Made a 10am appt, was taken right away, toes looked great; Staff was friendly. As I was leaving they offered me a "new client special"... A Massage, Facial, Spa Mani and Pedi for $100. How could I resist! I was so excited. I made an appointment for 3pm on Saturday. I arrived at 3pm, there were a few clients waiting ahead of me that got taken care of. I stood ungreeted for a few minutes. Eventually, the manager asked me to take a seat, I mentioned to her that I had a 3pm appointment for a massage, she looked a little nervous then said someone would be right with me. at 3:20 I started to walk around as I didn't see any available staff and still hadn't been brought to a room. The manager was nowhere to be found. I asked one of the technicians if someone was available for my 3pm appointment and she said to wait 5 more minutes. At that point I said no thank you, I had a 3pm appointment. So I left. I was infuriated mostly because I was SO looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying a massage. I don't understand the point of making an appointment if they're not going to honor it... I'm not sure if I should give them one more chance for redemption or demand a refund. Sigh read more

I had received a gift from a friend via living social. It was for a 30 minute reflexology with European facial. Allowing products to set in. You receive an upper body massage. (arms, neck and hand massage.) My favorite part was the reflexology. She hit every stubborn spot and nerve in my foot, calfs and knee. Facial was good. She removed any dead skin. It was meant to be a gift, so if there were any additional charges then it should have been addressed to me when I made the appointment. This place was awful! I purchased the Groupon for the massage, reflexology and facial. Firstly, the facial was pathetic - I can slap some cream on my face at home, too. I definitely did not receive a reflexology, but I didn't bother to ask because the massage was literally painfully terrible. I've been to True Grace Spa & Nail twice now with a groupon ($79) that's good for 3 Spa pedi and mani (valued at $109 each). This is by far the most friendly and relaxing nail salon I've been to. Start with the pedi, which includes a jelly soak, scrub, mask, hot stone massage and ofcourse trimming and filing. The workers are mixed of american and asian (korean & chinese). They are extremely clean and the workers were taking their time and you never feel rushed or uncomfortable. It is a large nail salon and it is always busy. I've been there on a Friday morning and afternoon and both they were almost full on the pedi chairs (they have at least 10 chairs). Their mani is very similar to the regular mani from other salon - added bonus is their parafin wax and a few minutes of massage while the wax is cooling down. The cons for this place: 1. There's not always a receptionist out on the front. I believe the owner will pick up the phone and greet people if she is there. But when she is not there and if no one is at the manicure table you got no one. 2. One time while I was doing manicure, my mani lady was asked to answer the phone for the owner and help greeting visitors. What that means is she has to stop doing what she was doing and ran to the reception desk to answer phone every 2 minutes. Although this is not the mani lady's fault (and she was super nice and kept apologizing), it was still annoying and I think the manager/owner should be aware of that. Overall I think this is a great nail salon with the Groupon price. I don't think I'll be visiting with the regular price of $100 though but if the service is the same just minus the expensive products that they used for the groupon clients, I may still visit. Keep in mind that most of the negative reviews are for massages and eyelash extensions and I haven't tried any of those so this is solely for mani/pedi at their salon. However, when I asked the mani lady about their massage and how they got so many bad reviews, she was surprised and said they are actually famous for their massages. So maybe if there's a good deal I may try the massage one day to see if it is really that bad. read more

I got a facial/reflexology. All was good until it was over and I noticed a big red mark in the middle of my forehead. Some kind of machine was used on my face during the facial (without telling me) and it left a mark. When I confronted her, she said she didn't pick anything from that spot. I received a Groupon as a gift from my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. it was for a 30 minute facial a 30 minute reflexology message and and a 60 minute Swedish massage. The facility is in a really nice area, more wealthy neighborhood. I am from Shelton and drove 45 minutes to get there. The massage was okay but they did not turn me over. The facial was great and well worth it, the problem was, when I was leaving. When I arrive I gave them my Groupon but they asked me to pay the six dollar tax which was no problem. Upon leaving , she TOLD me to leave a $30 tip and that I can only use my card for $30 and nothing less. I told her it was a gift and I did not plan on leaving a $30 tip for a massage that was paid for. I was going to leave $10-$20. The woman at the front end began to taunt me and informed me that I was being disgraceful and belittling because I did not leave a $30 or more tip. I told her as a customer she is not to tell me what kind of tip to leave. I think she was trying to bully me into leaving a $30 tip because she was loud in front of other customers and tried to embarrass me. Not only that, she tried to pressure a couples massage for $90 in my face when I was trying to leave before Making me pay for the tip. She was so rude and the customer service was so bad, that I walked out without giving anyone a tip. What she did not know is that I could never have afford such a massage and it was a gift and I was trying to enjoy myself and for me to leave a $30 tip plus spending $25 to get there, plus spending a tax was a little out of my range. I work two jobs and go to school and I can barely manage.. all I wanted was a massage and to not feel the financial pressure or burden of the cost. Most horrible experience. I called them before I bought a groupon for "spa" pedicure and manicure. They claimed the manicure was 30 minutes and the pedicure for 1 hr. I went in exactly on time for the appt. 10 minutes of giggling and whispering and talking in Chinese - while I stood near the nail polish selection, I was finally asked to sit on the pedicure chair. A woman came by and started on me. She had barely shaped my toe nails when she started to have a conversation with another employee (of course in chinese) and proclaimed that, I would be given the pedicure by this other person. Please let me tell you I am triligual and I don't speak Chinese but by the conversation one could tell that this new comer was not comfortable giving me a pedicure and was inexperienced. And so went 25 minutes of rushed something. It was not a pedicure. No massage, the hot stone were washed to the point of being cold (seriously) and then dragged up and down my leg. I was left wondering if this was a game I was playing with my 6 year old. Nail polish application was bad. And off I went in less than 40 minutes of being seated for my manicure. Since I had a 5:30 appt - I could not have been at the manicure seat before 6:40 - but I was there at 6:20. The manicure was what I call a good express manicure. Not a spa manicure. It was good and the person knew what she was doing.... but I guess after the pedicure it was tough to disappoint me further. Even with the groupon I felt cheated as services elsewhere would have cost me the same - without calling it a spa deal. I was not expecting Noelle, but I was expecting an inexpensive place giving me good service. The inexperienced woman, the non stop unprofessional giggling and talking to each other in while performing service all made me feel pretty unrelaxed. It seems that this salon does not want business. I bought the Groupon weeks ago and I have called four times to try to get an appointment. The first time I was told that there was nobody to give the services on the Groupon, the second time the salon was booked for a full week, the third time I called, I was hung up on and the fourth time I attempted booking the services for three weeks from today, hoping for an open slot - I was told nothing is available for the rest of the month - I somehow do not believe that based upon the other reviews. I found this spa by making a groupon purchase and I'm so glad I did. I had a silky milk pedicure with gel soak that included a 30 min leg message and it was the best pedicure I have ever had. The inside of this spa is very warm and inviting. Everthing is new and very clean. The pedicure chair was one of the most comfortable, relaxing chairs I have ever sat in while getting a pedicure. They also have a private rooms to enjoy messages and facials. Was very relaxed after having a 30 minute body message. I will definitely be going back to True Grace Spa for all my services from now on. read more

I know it was them because I had not gotten a pedicure for a few months before going there and I haven't gotten another since.
