I have tried several other places for waxing (including the Benefit in Westport) and Mallory is the only one who I've kept coming back to. I have social anxiety and I usually hate having any beauty services done (haircuts, manicures, etc) but I actually look forward to seeing Mallory. The manager (I assume that's who she is because she presents as having authority) is always very rude. I have never had a positive interaction with her. During your birthday week you can receive a free brow wax, so I took advantage of that and also got a brow tint (knowing I would have to pay for the extra service). The manager told me several times that only the brow wax was covered and I have to pay for the tint and tip on the whole amount. I already knew all of that and did not appreciate her treating me like that, she was practically berating me. She has such a negative attitude and is so unpleasant to be around. I continue to put up with her though just for Mallory. The atmosphere in the boutique is also uncomfortable sometimes. I only come there for waxing services, although they do carry the full line of Benefit products. I do love Benefit but it is cheaper for me to buy their products at other stores where I can earn rewards or use coupons. But whenever you are there, especially if you are waiting for your appointment, employees will follow you around and push products on you trying to make a sale. After you get waxed they will ask if you want some aloe and I always say no (even though I would like some) because I don't want them to pitch any products. I understand they must have sales goals to meet but it is very off putting. Overall, it is worth it to come here for Mallory.

She was washing my face, rinsing out the washcloth a bowl of dirty water that she had removed the scrub from. She would leave the room for 5 mins at a time and in the salon, the owner (?) was walking around talking on speakerphone... the least relaxing environment I have ever been in. I paid to have a face mask put on, it would've been a heck of a lot cheaper if I did it at my house. Finally, I went to check out and there was a miscellaneous $10 charge. The reason my review is only 2 star is because I asked for anc/ dip powder manicure and they had very few colors (all reds and purples), so the tech suggested I do a combination of powder and gel color on top ... I did not like this idea and verbalized my lack of enthusiasm and said the gel does not last as long and I need it to last like powder. My tech ASSURED me they would last like powder. Well... they put the white powder in one layer and a couple layers of the glue and then proceeded to file this all down (and virtually completely away) then did normal gel UV on top of this. It has been 24 hours now since I left the salon, I have full thickness cracks in 2 nails on my left hand, a chip off of the color on my right thumb and pointer finger and my right middle finger nail has completely broken off. And the cost of JUST this manicure was $58.49!!!! SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than powder manicures elsewhere. Powder manicures done correctly elsewhere normally last 3-4 weeks for me without ANY cracks or chips. I'm very unhappy and will NOT be going back here for powder manicures.

There was a mask, scrub, different serums and lotions. Unfortunately, that was the only thing I enjoyed. 1. I walked in for a 2pm appt and just waited in silence for 15 minutes with no explanation until someone came out to direct me to a pedicure chair. 2. I asked for a medium massage - it felt like she was trying to squeeze out my internal organs. She didn't speak English so I couldn't even explain that I was in pain. I literally bit the pillow of the head rest to get through it. 3. You have to pay tip on the original price, not the Groupon price. So I literally paid half of what I spent on the Groupon on the tip. And the tip is mandatory. Like they ask for it as soon as your services are done. Made me feel really uncomfortable. 4. Not a sterile environment. The technicians are constantly cleaning their hands but the floor was dirty and there was a dog running around! TL;DR: Only go for pedicures and make sure you have no plans that day.
